Scene 1 ~ Toothless Aggression?

The scene opens up in the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is where this Thursday’s SMACKDOWN! will take place. The door leading to the parking lot opens as Goldberg walks in. Goldberg wears a cut-off t-shirt and black jeans, with a WWE gym bag over his shoulder. He continues to walk, passing many WWE employees until he walks up to Josh Matthews.

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Goldberg? I’m surprised to see on you SMACKDOWN!... you usually compete on RAW.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah, well I have been booked for a match tomorrow night.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Well that explains your appearance here... I didn’t even see your name on the card. Anyway, can I get your thoughts on your match?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah, but make it quick, will ya?”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Absolutely... First of all, a couple of weeks ago, you competed against the Undertaker in a Last Man Standing match and...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “And... And once again I did exactly what I said I would do. I beat the living hell out of the Undertaker until he couldn’t stand up for 10 long seconds. I warned Undertaker... I told him what would happen... but he still insisted on running me down. Well, Taker, it’s about time you start believing the hype!”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Very well. Now can I get your reaction about the current crisis in the WWE right now. We are losing superstars left and right including our WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Johnny ‘The Bull’ Stamboli.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, I really don’t know what is happening. But you’re right, the WWE has been losing great competitors such as Kane. And now, once again in WWE history, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion has left us with no champion. That is exactly why I have came to the Van Andel Arena here in Grand Rapids. I want to talk to Shane McMahon. I want to know who is the World Heavyweight Champion and I want to know who I will be facing at Wrestlemania.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “OK... but what do you say about Stamboli himself?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, my opinion hasn’t changed since he has been in the WWE. I think he is nothing... plain and simple. He never should have been World Heavyweight Champion. He was given an opportunity that should have never been given to him in the first place. But now that he has left, that’s one less person that I have to deal with.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “There is a big rumor going around, and I’m sure you have heard it, that certain people have been leaving because of you.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah, I have heard that. If you think about it, it makes sense. First of all, it was booked to be myself taking on Shane Douglas for the title at Wrestlemania. Then Shane leaves the WWE and here comes Johnny Stamboli. Now there is a new card... Stamboli VS Goldberg for the title at Wrestlemania. Now Stamboli has left. You could say that fear was struck into my opponents... but I don’t really think so. Douglas and Stamboli were two guys that don’t really listen to what you are saying until you physically show them.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Sounds good... now as for your match tomorrow night on SMACKDOWN!...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, I am fighting the Rabid Wolverine, Chris Benoit. I haven’t heard too much from Benoit lately, but I know from watching his matches that he is a fierce competitor. He has the technicality and that will to win that pumps through his veins. He goes on and on his matches, seeming like he will lose... but yet, he pulls away with the win. In the past, Benoit has been unstoppable.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Yeah, that was in the past. Now we are talking future. What do you think about Benoit now?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, since he has returned to the WWE, he has a 0-1-0... that means you lost your first match. Sure, you could say that losing your first match is alright... but in my opinion, it’s just the start of things to come. I might as well say that SMACKDOWN! will be Benoit’s last match. Why? Because I will beat Benoit... because I will hurt Benoit... and I will put Benoit in the hospital. I will make Benoit look not like the Rabid Wolverine... but more like a cute little puppy dog.”

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “I guess Benoit has a lot to worry about.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Damn right. Benoit hasn’t been around lately, so I have no idea what he’s thinking... but all he should be focusing on is the task at hand. And the task is me... DA MAN! Benoit, I have never faced you in the WWE before and I am looking forward to a new challenge. But there is nothing that will stop me. I have sat here week in and week out saying that I will win my match and my predictions come true. Why do they come true? ‘Cause I am going to Wrestlemania and not a damn person will stand in my way. Benoit, you’re about to lose more of your teeth when I spear your ass to the mat. Don’t you realize it, Benoit. Don’t you realize what all this means... well, let me spell it out for you... YOU’RE NEXT!!!”

Goldberg walks away as Josh looks after him.

| ‘SMACKDOWN! Interviewer’ Josh Matthews | “Well, this has been Josh Matthews reporting for SMACKDOWN!...”

The scene fades out...
