Revenge... that's what it's all about. You can't make up for the past... what's done is done. Now all you can do is move on. You lay awake at night, thinking about how you can exact revenge... how you can pay the individual back for the pain and suffering... for the defeat. But you know that no matter how much you hurt him, it doesn't change the past. The past is a gaping hole. You can try to run from it, but the more you run, the deeper, more terrible it grows behind you, its edges yawning at your heels. Your only chance is to turn around and face it... Last week, Sean O’Haire found out first hand what revenge feels like. Soon, John Cena will have that same feeling...
The scene opens up on RAW, just as it begins. The video package hypes up the Rumble, showing that Goldberg has now entered. Pyros shoot everywhere as the Green Bay fans are on their feet. Cameras change to outside, showing the Resch Center and Lambeau Field across the street.
| `Good Ol‘ JR | “Welcome to Green Bay, Wisconsin! A huge night is planned for these great fans here in Titletown.”
| ‘The King’ Jerry Lawler | “These fans certainly are great! They care about the WWE as much as their beloved Packers... and that’s saying something!”
| `Good Ol‘ JR | “Right you are, King. Tonight, in our main event, we will decide a #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. That individual who wins will earn a title shot at the Royal Rumble!”
| ‘The King’ Jerry Lawler | “But that’s not all, JR. Tonight, we also decide the #1 contender for the Women’s title and for the Intercontinental title, which currently is held by the Doctor of Thuganomics, John Cena! It‘s going to be two baldies against two long blonde haired Canadians in a fatal fourway! ”
The camera cuts to the backstage. Goldberg is shown in his locker room, talking on his cellphone.
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah... well, after this Sunday I will be... right.... If I could just...”
Goldberg stops talking as a faint knock is heard on his door.
| `Da Man' Goldberg | (talking on phone) “Can you hang on for a sec?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | (looking towards the door) “Yeah... it‘s open.”
A young lady walks in, holding a clipboard.
Goldberg continues to talk on his phone.
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Hey, I’m going to have to call you back.”
Goldberg turns off his phone and sets it off to the side. He looks at the lady.
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Can I help you with something?”
| `Backstage Assistant’ Sarah | “Goldberg, I was told to contact you. Apparently, your opponents tonight, Kane and Christian, have been cutting promos about you. Perhaps they are trying to intimidate you before your big match. Chris Jericho has also talked some smack about you.”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Intimidate me? You think that little pip squeak... or maybe I should say ‘peep’ squeak, Christian, intimidates me? Nobody intimidates me. Not Christian, not Kane, not Jericho, and certainly not Vanilla Ice!”
| `Backstage Assistant’ Sarah | “I see... well, perhaps you would like some on air time to get let everyone know what’s on your mind. I can set up an interview segment with...”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Let me guess.... Coach, right?”
| `Backstage Assistant’ Sarah | “Yeah, actually. Would you prefer someone else?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “What do you think?”
| `Backstage Assistant’ Sarah | “I’ll see what I can do... just be in the interview room in about 10 minutes, ok?”
Goldberg nods his head as the assistant leaves. The scene slowly fades to a commercial break...
This scene opens up right after the commercial break. Goldberg is shown walking down a hallway, on his way to the interview room. He reaches the door and slowly walks in. Goldberg’s face seems surprised as he sees who will be interviewing him. The assistant, Sarah, walks over by Goldberg.
| `Backstage Assistant’ Sarah | “Well, Mr. Goldberg, I am just as surprised as you are. I guess he just happened to stop by and he said he’d love to interview you. An interview with a legend...”
Sarah leaves the room as the camera slowly pans over, showing the face of the legend. The legend is not a WWE legend, but a NFL one. The camera reveals none other than the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback, Brett Favre!
The fans burst into cheers for their hero. Brett smiles and begins to talk...
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “Hey, Goldberg. I’ve always been a big fan of the WWE and I just happened to be in the area... so I volunteered to have an exclusive interview with you. I have always considered our sports to be very similar. It’s all about the fans. Anyway, it’s an honor to interview you.”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Thanks a lot. But it’s really an honor to sit here and talk to you. I’m really glad your interviewing me... I was really getting sick of the WWE interviewers. Should we begin?”
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “Yeah, I think so. I was informed of what has been going on lately so, I have some pretty good questions for you. First of all, last Thursday night you demolished Sean O’Haire. How does that feel to massacre a guy who has beaten you in the past?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, I’m sure you know what it feels like to beat people who have beaten you in the past... But for me it was great. I was so focused on my intensity that I knew nothing could stop me from picking up the win. And that’s a lot how I feel right now. The thing that has been motivating me was revenge. The last few weeks it has been all about revenge for me. Sean O’Haire was first. Next, is John Cena. Followed by Shane McMahon and lastly, Shane Douglas.”
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “Before talking about tonight’s match-up, how about a few words about this Sunday’s Pay-Per-View, the Royal Rumble?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yes... the Royal Rumble. 30 men in one battle to crown the ultimate achievement, the 2004 Royal Rumble winner and the man who gets to face the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania. I plan on walking out this Sunday as the Intercontinental champ and a shot at the World title. I realize that there are many tough competitors in this match, but as far as I’m concerned, we all have an equal chance of walking out the winner. Hell, Gail Kim could walk out the winner for all we know. The Rumble is unpredictable.... unlike tonight’s match.”
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “Tonight’s match... well, Goldberg, I have seen all these guys in action and it will not be an easy win.”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I know it won’t be an easy win. All three of my opponents are about as tough as they come. But I know I am physically ready. It’s just a matter of having the mentality to go in there and win.”
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “I know all about needing to have the mentality. It’s something that you need to concentrate hard on and then go in there and do it. Well, we all know there are three tough guys.... Christian, Kane, and Chris Jericho. Who is the biggest threat?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I have been getting that question a lot, lately. Well, each wrestler brings their own characteristics. Kane, for instance, has a huge size advantage. He uses his power and sick and twisted mind to finish you off. Jericho, on the other hand, is a ‘dirty player’. You can never trust him to go in and play fair. Especially now that he has formed a faction with The Rock and Orton. Last is Christian. Christian doesn’t always sound like he’s all there... but he is. He has a way of getting you right where he wants you, and then going in for the kill. All three men are big threats in their own way.”
| `3 time MVP’ Brett Favre | “Well, that about wraps it up for questions. Anything you would like to say to your opponents?”
| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, yeah. This goes to Chris Jericho. Jericho, everywhere I turn I hear people talking about the up and coming superstar. Jericho, you seem to be on a roll as of late. You managed to beat Christian and become the... Light Heavyweight Champion?! Why don’t you just go for the Women’s title as long as your at it. You are high on yourself... calling yourself the King of the World and the Living Legend. You want a Living Legend... look at the guy in front of me! Jericho, you strut your stuff, thinking your all high and mighty. And you always have that little smirk on your face... that same smirk that makes me sick to my stomach. Jericho, tonight I am going to bring you back to reality. I’m going to give you a reality check. Because in reality, you are nothing! And you basically proved that when you joined with The Rock and Randy Orton. So get ready, Jericho... I’m going to spear your ass back to earth. It’s time to... FEAR THE SPEAR!!!”
The scene fades to a break as Goldberg is staring into the camera...
SCENE 3
RAW comes back as JR and King welcome the viewers back.
| `Good Ol‘ JR | “Welcome back! I can’t believe what I just say! Brett Favre and Goldberg doing an interview. History has been made tonight, not just for the WWE but for the NFL, too!”
| ‘The King’ Jerry Lawler | “I guess Favre and Goldberg have a thing in common. They both love gold. Goldberg loves that gold World title as much as Favre loves his gold Super Bowl ring!”
Suddenly, Goldberg’s music thunders over the PA system. The fans are on their feet giving Goldberg a standing ovation. The gold sparks start up as Da Man walks out!
