The road to Wrestlemania has begun... the main event is set and will feature the best of the best. Two forces will collide for the most prized possession... In the past, one force has always triumphed over the other. Will the result be the same? Or will the other finally get revenge? WRESTLEMANIA XX... IT BEGINS... AGAIN!

Scene 1 ~ Interview Time!

The scene opens up in a room that looks to be set up for some type of interview. Two blacks chairs are in the middle of the room. Good Ol’ JR is seen sitting on one of the two chairs, a clipboard in his hand. The door slowly opens as Goldberg walks in. JR nods at Goldberg as they shake hands.

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “First of all, Goldberg, I would like to thank you for coming down on such short notice.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah... it was no problem.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “If it’s alright with you, we will begin... First off, is there anything you would like to get off your chest... anything concerning Shawn Michaels?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Well, I saw a couple interviews with HBK and he had quite a lot to say. Over and over he has vowed to climb the ladder and prove that he still has it. I have no problem with that. I see one similarity between myself and Shawn... Shawn used to be the very best. He was the Icon, the Showstoppa, the Main Event... but then Shawn was injured. Soon Michaels vanished... Well, back in WcW, I was the very best. I was labeled as unstoppable. Sure I had lost a couple matches, but a couple losses out of 200 matches isn’t bad. But then the WcW was bought out... and just like Shawn, I was out of the wrestling world. Then, in October, I came to the WWE. But I didn’t start out where I left off in WcW... you see, this was a whole new game... a much more intense game. So I fought battles with many superstars. I beat the best of the best. I won the Royal Rumble... and here I am today. Well, here comes HBK... Shawn returns and just like me, he finds out that he was forgotten... that he too must regain his greatness. And here we are today. Shawn trying to get back to the top and me trying to hold my spot.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “That is quite a similarity between yourself and HBK. Michaels has said that just because you are the #1 contender, he will not drop all hope... What is your response to that?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I’m glad that he has not dropped all hope. You see, when you lose hope... you lose, plain and simple. If you don’t think you can do it, nobody else does either. Then you prove that you were right... you couldn’t do it. Shawn still believes in himself and I am glad. There is no doubt that this match will be huge. We both have a lot of confidence in ourselves. This match will not be one for the weak of the heart.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Absolutely not! This is sure to be one hell of a slobberknocker! Let me quote Shawn Michaels... ‘But, there's one thing that is slowing you down and that's your inability to do what you promise! I am talking about this week, you go around yelling your head off that 'I'm Next', but Goldberg, what happens if I beat you, do you run away from me and never think about it again, or do you face the facts and be a man about it and realize that I am still the best damn wrestler stepping into this ring each night!’... And your response to that?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “The inability to do what I promise? Well, let’s see here... I promised I would win the Rumble and I did that... I promised I would kick Stevie Ray’s ass all the way to Velocity and I did that! So what promise have I made that has not come true? I promised to become the World Heavyweight Champion... which will come true very soon. Shawn, I’m not making a promise to beat you ‘cause I know the type of competitor you are. All I’m saying is that I will beat you. If you think that’s a promise then think what you want. As for you saying that if you beat me will I run away and never think about it again... Hell no! I face the facts like a man. If you beat me then you beat me. I’m not going to make up excuses, Shawn.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Shawn has said that you are wrong when you say that you need the World title to be the best. What do you think?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Quite frankly I think Shawn is wrong. He says that he is the best when he goes out there and busts his ass day in and day out. Shawn, it’s time to face reality. Each and every superstar in this business busts their ass for one thing and one thing only... the World title. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of that title. You can stand in that ring, Shawn, and preach that you still have it, and maybe you do, but you haven’t proved anything until you win that title. That title shows the entire world who the very best is. Right now, that’s Shane Douglas. But soon, Shawn, soon that title will be around the waist of somebody else and that somebody else will be me. Maybe to the fans, you are the best, Shawn, but to the other superstars in the back, you are just another wrestler until you have that title in your possession.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Shawn also said that one day you may win that title, but that day you better look over your shoulder... ‘cause the Heart Break Kid will be first in line for a title shot. Do you have anything to say about that?”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Yeah... one day I will win that title. And Shawn, believe me, you will be the first guy in line for a title shot. You have earned it. By the time I win that title, Shawn, you should be pretty damn close to the top again and I will be glad to fight you again.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Shawn has said that he has taken back the name he has been calling you... he has said that you are not the loser he claimed you were. Instead, he said that even he thought that your streak was incredible and that nobody would beat you.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Coming from a legend like Shawn Michaels, that is quite a compliment. But Shawn has said that he was never part of that streak and he wasn’t. But so many people were... and a lot of those superstars were almost the competitor that Shawn is. So many have fallen at the hands of Goldberg. And so many more will fall in the future...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Shawn, I also have a great deal of respect for you and for what you have done for this business. But Shawn has said that all the glory has gone to my head. Quite frankly, it hasn’t. I am no different today than I was the day I walked into this company. I know that as fast as I made it to the top and I can drop back down. I know that in a company like this you have to be focused for each and every match. No match will ever be a breeze or a walk in the park. Every match you need the same intensity and the same power in order to pick up that victory. I have that intensity, Shawn. I know what must be done in order to win. And on RAW, I will do just that!”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “I can tell you are ready for this match up. I will definitely be looking forward to RAW. HBK has said that you don’t think he has what it takes to win...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I know for a fact that Shawn has what it takes to win... but whether he will use that or not is up to him. Whether or not he can rekindle that old flame that used to feed him is another story. If Shawn can once again break that Heart Break Kid out, he may very well win this match. But if we see that same Shawn that we saw last Monday night... he might not stand a chance.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Shawn said that you are so close to reaching greatness, but you just seem to come up short. He, on the other hand, knows what it feels like.”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I agree... Here in the WWE, I have come so close to greatness... I have come so close to winning that World Title, but each time I manage to come up short. HBK has reached greatness but the key word is has. Shawn doesn’t have that same greatness that he used to. He claims that he will show the world that he is at the top of his game just like he has said he is. Well, I hope he is at the top of the game. Fans all over the world have waited for this match. It would be a disappointment if either of us are not at the top of our game.”

| ‘Good Ol’ JR | “Well, that about wraps it up, Goldberg. Once again, thanks for joining me here today. Good luck with your match on RAW... it’s sure to be one for the ages!”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Thanks, JR. I know that this match will live up to the hype.”

Goldberg and JR shake hands as they both head off towards the door.

Scene 2 ~ Asking the fans...

The scene opens at a house show in Stockton, California, a few days after the interview. The show has not started yet, but a WWE employee is walking throughout the audience taking a survey on who will win in the main event on RAW.

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “S’cuse me, sir?”

| `Old WWE Fan' Harold | “Yes?”

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “I work for the WWE and I was wondering who you think will win on RAW... Shawn Michaels or Goldberg?”

| `Longtime WWE Fan' Harold | “Hmm... well, I have watched wrestling for a long time. I remember these two back when they started out. Both have went through a lot to get where they are today. But I am going to have to go with HBK, Shawn Michaels!”

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “Thank you... Hey there!”

Jim sees a teenager with a shirt that says NEXT on it. He rushes to his side...

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “Well, you are wearing a Goldberg shirt... so do you think he can beat HBK?”

| `Die-hard WWE Fan' Sean | “Both Shawn and Goldberg are my favorites... Shawn has accomplished so much in his career and he definitely earns all the nicknames... However, when he is put in a match with Goldberg... SHAWN IS NEXT!!!”

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “So Goldberg will win, eh? We’ll see!”

Jim runs off and finds a couple.

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “Hey guys! Thanks for coming out here tonight! So who will win Goldberg or HBK?”

| ‘WWE Fan' Frank | “Without a doubt... Goldberg will win! GOLDBERG, GOLDBERG!”

| ‘Frank’s Girlfriend' Larissa | “Uh... no! Goldberg will not win simply because Shawn will!”

| `WWE Surveyor' Jim | “Oh? And why will Shawn win?”

| ‘Frank’s Girlfriend' Larissa | “Because he is so sexy!”

| ‘WWE Fan' Frank | “And what am I, chop liver?”

| ‘Frank’s Girlfriend' Larissa | “No. You’re almost as sexy as Shawn!”

The couple walks off arguing as the house show begins...

Scene 3 ~ Are you ready?

After the singing of the national anthem, the house shows starts with the blast of Goldberg’s music! The fans immediately stand as Goldberg makes his way out to the ring. He climbs in and grabs a mic.

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “In case you haven’t heard, this Monday Night on RAW, I will be facing HBK, Shawn Michaels, in the main event!”

The fans cheer for the huge match.

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “I know that this match won’t be an easy win for me. In the past, Shawn has proven time and time again that he is the best. But this isn’t the past. Shawn’s time of being the best is over. Now that he has returned he will have to prove that he is still the best and the first step is to beat me!”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “Now is the time for Shawn to show the world that he is still that same HBK that the fans know and love. Shawn said it well in one of his last interviews... this isn’t going to be a battle... it will be a war! And I am ready...”

| `Da Man' Goldberg | “There are many differences between myself and Shawn... but our will to win is quite similar. We both know what it takes to get the victory. So Shawn, get ready... listen to the hype you have been hearing... very soon you will find out how it feels to be NEXT!!!”

Goldberg’s music hits once again as the fans cheer and start the GOLDBERG chant. Goldberg poses and high-fives a couple fans on his way to the back...
