The scene opens up in front of large house in Tulsa, Okalahoma, with Jonathon Coachman standing in the drive-way. Goldberg’s car is shown...
Coach looks next to the car and sees Goldberg on his motorcycle.
Coach~Hey Goldberg! Are you ready for the interview?
“Yeah, in a minute. You can make yourself comfortable.”
Goldberg walks inside the house as Coach follows. Coach walks into the living room and sits comfortably in a big chair. It appears that Coach is waiting excitedly...
Coach~Hello ladies and gentlemen! This is Coach and I am here in the house of the one, the only... GOLDBERG! I’m hoping to get a word with him soon...
Coach leans back, puts his hands behind his head and puts his feet up onto the footrest. Goldberg is seen in the background walking down a big set of stairs. He walks up behind Coach...
“Comfortable?”
Coach~Oh.... Goldberg! I, uh, didn’t see you come down...
“Yeah, whatever. Let’s get this damn interview over with. It isn’t exactly fun to be hanging around with you all day, Coach.”
Coach takes his feet off down and pulls out a notebook.
Coach~ Well, first of all, I’d like to thank you for inviting me to your hometown of Tulsa, Okalahoma and to your huge house!
“Uh huh....”
Coach~ Well, this past Monday night on RAW, you suffered your first lost at the hands of Shane Douglas. Can I get your reaction about that?
“Well, Shane beat me fair and square. I’m not going to sit here all day and whine about how I lost...”
Coach~ But Francine distracted the ref and then Shane hit you with the title!
“Don’t you ever interrupt me again, Coach. Yeah, Shane did hit me with the title... but hey, a win is a win and a loss is a loss. It doesn’t matter how I lost to Douglas, what matters is that I did lose. And I’m not very happy about it, but I swear that Douglas will get what’s coming to him.”
Coach~ Well, that is all behind us now. But for your next match, you need to be focused. Not only will you be facing Douglas, but you will be facing four others beside him. But this is to be the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Title!
“Coach, that World Title means everything to me. It’s the reason why I put my body on the line day in and day out. A great man once said to be the man you have to beat the man. Well, before every match I make believe that my opponent is the World Heavyweight Champion... I make believe that my opponent is the man... and I destroy him. Whether he is big or small, athletic or just a couch potato... I destroy him. ’Cause I know that it takes a lot just to get a shot at the title. In a business like this, you have to be focused. We don’t get 7 months to practice... we don’t get 7 months to think about why we lost... we get about a hour to realize what we need to do to win that World title.”
Coach~ So back to the match... Shane Douglas.
“Shane Douglas... there’s not much to say about him that I didn’t say last week... well, there’s not much to say about him period. I could go on and on and on about how he sucks at wrestling, but it wouldn’t make much sense since he beat me. But he didn’t beat me through skill, he didn’t beat me through power, he beat my through intelligence. He planned it out perfect with Francine distracting the ref and him pulling out that title. I give him a lot of credit... he may not look like he’s capable of anything, but he is always planning.”
Coach~ Is Shane the biggest threat in this match?
“I’m the biggest threat in this match. Other than that, there is no threat because you can’t tell how any of these men are getting prepared. One might be training in a gym every minute of the day, while the other is sitting somewhere in an alleyway. One might be focusing his mind on the match, while another might be wasting his time talking to you...
Coach~ Wasting his time? It’s an honor to be interviewed by the Coach! Anyway, when you said one might be sitting in an alleyway, were you talking about Vampiro?
“Yeah, I was... but right now, I’m thinking about each of my opponents one by one. Shane Douglas, besides what I said earlier, you are a punk. You think your the best but you have no idea how much you suck. Yeah, I admit you beat me. But try doing it again... it won’t happen! You think the ground you walk on is sacred. I don’t know if you forgot, but back in the WcW, it was your ass that was getting beat every night! But it wasn’t just in the WcW, no, no, no! Back when this was the WWF, you actually managed to win the Intercontinental title, wait, Shawn Michaels suffered a concussion so he forfeited it to you. And then in a record-breaking 15 minutes later, you lost the title to Razor Ramon. But past is past, I know that.”
“Shane, I finally found out what ‘The Franchise’ meant, and it certainly doesn’t fit you. Matter of fact, I fit that description perfectly. Every organization has what is known as a "Franchise" player. One man who profoundly stands a cut above the rest. A passionate athlete who has accomplished something beyond his own far-reaching expectations. A person whose mere presence shapes and structures the organization itself. Shane, you have a lot of potential... but you don’t have any respect. No respect for your opponents, but mostly, no respect for these people. I know these people don’t like you, but they respect you. So, Shane, just once, I’m telling you to show these people what you got... don’t cheat and hit someone with your title... your better than that...”
“Enough wasting my time on Shane...”
Coach~ Well, the next guy in this match is Triple H! What do you think about him?
