The scene opens up in front of a door. The door reads...

CORPORATE ALLIANCE

The cameraman pushes his way into the room where we find Shane McMahon laying casually on his leather sofa. Shane is reading the recent WWE Magazine which features Shane Douglas on the cover and a look at the battle between the Corporate Alliance and the Dominant Alliance. The TV is heard faintly in the background. Shane appears to be alone when the door opens and in walks Goldberg. Shane looks up from his magazine...

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ Ahhhhhh, Goldberg. Getting ready for your big match on RAW? This will be a big win for the Corporate Alliance.

‘The Man’~ Yeah. I just wanted to tell you that soon you will have one less member in the Corporate Alliance...

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ Goldberg, what are you talking about?

‘The Man’ ~ Well, Shane, after Monday Night, Rey Mysterio might be hurt badly. He might not only quit the Corporate Alliance, but he might just end up leaving the WWE.

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ Hey! We need Rey to take out the Dominate Alliance. I want to show Steph that I truly am the best McMahon. How about you team up with Rey and take out Kurt Angle, and then you two can battle it out for the #1 Contendership?

‘The Man’ ~ I don’t need Rey’s help to take out Angle. I don’t need anybody’s help. Angle is nothing but a coward who hides behind Stephanie. Since Angle joined the Dominant Alliance, Angle hasn’t been the same. Angle used to be respected by all... but not anymore. Angle used to be a man of intensity, integrity, and intelligence... not anymore. Angle’s record is 1-2... so how the hell did he get into this match?

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ I don’t know, Goldberg. But that doesn’t matter. I have confidence that you will be able to pull away with the win.

Goldberg turns towards the camera.

‘The Man’ ~ Kurt, I hope you’re listening. You are looking at The Man... the man that will walk into RAW the Hardcore Champion... the man that will beat you to one inch of your life... the man that will walk out of RAW as the Hardcore Champion and the #1 Contender! Kurt, let’s go back to 1996. That year ring a bell? Yeah, that was the year you won the Olympics and your precious gold medals. Around that same time, I was training for WcW. I just happened to flip on the TV while in a weight room at the Power Plant... and who did I see? That’s right... Kurt Angle! I saw Kurt pin his opponent, making him an Olympic Gold Medallist. And I remember thinking... this guy has potential... he could dominate the wrestling world, not with power, but with grapple and submissions.

‘The Man’ ~ And I was right. Kurt Angle came to the WWE and showed everybody what he could do. But that was then.. and this is now. Kurt, since I came to the WWE, I thought you would be the one to beat. But Kurt, like I said earlier, you seemed to be washed up. You are also very accident prone. I mean you have already broke your neck so many times in your short career. Right after Wrestlemania XIX, everybody thought Kurt’s career was over. But he came back... although I’m not sure he should have. Kurt, now is your chance to make an impact, just like at the ’96 Olympics. Now is your chance to bring back a huge win for SMACKDOWN!

Goldberg turns back towards Shane, who continued on reading his magazine. Shane looks up, noticing that Goldberg stopped talking.

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ I can tell your ready, Goldberg. I just read an article in here about your rivalry with that bastard, Shane Douglas. If you win on RAW, another chapter in this feud will be written. Think you can beat him this time?

‘The Man’ ~ I have to. Otherwise I don’t know what will happen. You see, I have lost to Shane 3 times. When he first beat me, he cut me. Then he beat me again, making that cut deeper. And he beat me for a third time, making the cut even deeper and then pouring salt into the wound. A cut like that... it could destroy you, drive you mad. It could set you free. But even if I beat Shane... there is still that cut. A cut like that doesn’t go away. It remains there forever, irritating you. At least when I beat Shane, the cut will somewhat feel better.

‘The Man’ ~ If you think nothing can get to you, you're lying to yourself. Three straight loses gets to you.

‘The Only McMahon, Shane McMahon’ ~ I know it does, man. But you have to block that out of your mind. You need to win on RAW, then you need to beat the living hell out of Shane Douglas. Then and only then will you be what you first came here for... you will be the World Heavyweight Champion!
