Forward ~ BACKLASH IS HERE!

Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... the backlash from Wrestlemania will be brutal... everybody has marked a target on one man’s chest... but one thing is for sure, everybody has been marked as NEXT!

Scene 1 ~ Getting the crowd’s opinion...

The scene opens back up in the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We are just a few hours away from Backlash, live on pay-per-view. The fans are waiting outside for the doors to open. Todd Grisham, a new WWE interviewer, is walking along side the line. He stops next to a small kid.

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Excuse me, but who do you think will win the World Heavyweight Title tonight?”

| ‘Little Kid’ Jimmy | “Goldberg! He’s unstoppable! Well, maybe Triple H... after all, he is the Game. But then again you can’t count out the King of Bling-Bling, Chris Jericho! Well... I really have no idea!”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “OK.. thanks.”

Todd walks up to another man, who appears to be in his mid-thirties.

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Hey! Welcome to Backlash? What’s your name and where are you from?”

| ‘American’ Ray | “Hey, Todd! I’m Ray and I came all the way from Tampa Bay, Florida, just to see Goldberg kick some ass tonight!”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “So apparently, you want Goldberg to win tonight?”

| ‘American’ Ray | “Yeah! Goldberg is Da Man!”

Ray unzips his jacket and shows Todd his Goldberg t-shirt. Todd laughs and continues to survey people. After awhile, Todd walks in the Rexall Place...

Scene 2 ~

The scene opens back up in a hallway where Todd Grisham is standing by with Goldberg.

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Goldberg, first of all, I was wondering why you had me go out there and ask the people who they want to win?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, Todd, Chris Jericho made a comment about the fans being behind him tonight because he’s Canadian. Well, that’s bullshit. Fans are fans... they are no different from Canada or Japan. They cheer for the person who they want... not because you are the same nationality as them. Jericho, the reason that these Canadians don’t like you is because you are a jackass. They know that you suck up to the boss and they know you didn’t do a damn thing to earn this title shot. I had Todd interview a couple fans to prove my point... who did most fans want to win, Todd?”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Most of them said Goldberg...”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “And that’s exactly my point.”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Jericho said that he’s trying to get your blood to boil so that you are at your very best tonight. Is your blood boiling?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Jericho wants my blood to boil? I really do think he’s on drugs now. Jericho, wanting my blood to boil is like taking a loaded gun, putting it in your mouth, and pulling the trigger. It’s a death wish. Well, Jericho, you’ll get your wish. I am so pissed off about your dumb little comments that I will be at my best tonight... and you’ll wish I wasn’t. I will rip you apart limb from limb and I will enjoy it. I am Da Man... but tonight, you will see Da Monster.”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Also, there are rumors running rampant that Johnny Stamboli and Jericho met together. According to several stories, the two have made an alliance and the Imperial Dynasty are coming back. What are your thoughts on these rumors?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I could really care less if the Imperial Dynasty did come back. They didn’t do a damn thing before and they won’t this time around either. You see, this time I am the World Heavyweight Champion, not Stamboli. Jericho and Stamboli can make their little alliance all they want. Cause I will just destroy it.”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “Are you concerned that Stamboli will interfere tonight and help Jericho win?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “There’s always that chance of someone interfering and costing me the title. I can’t help it if someone interferes. All I’m going to say is if someone does, there will be payback. I will hunt them down. But anyone could interfere, Todd. It could be Stamboli... it could be Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley... even you, Todd, you could interfere. But I will not let anyone interfere. I will kick their ass and then I will still retain my title.”

| ‘New Interviewer’ Todd Grisham | “This is the last interview before the big match...Anything you would like to address before heading into the match?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “This goes to everyone backstage, I am the World Heavyweight Champion. And I will remain that way until that special someone comes and beats me. But that special someone is not Jericho... that special someone is not Triple H. Neither of these two men have what it takes to beat Da Man. I am focused, perhaps more than ever. There is no way in hell that I will lose my title now. I have worked my entire career for this title and I’m not going to lose it after only a month of holding it. My first title defense is in a few hours... so let’s get it over with. Jericho, Triple H... even trash talking. It’s time to prove what you’ve been saying true. It’s time to put up or shut up. It’s time for Jericho and Triple H to be...NEXT!”

The scene fades to black...
