Forward ~ BACKLASH IS HERE!

Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... the backlash from Wrestlemania will be brutal... everybody has marked a target on one man’s chest... but one thing is for sure, everybody has been marked as NEXT!

Scene 1 ~ The Living Legend will not be living for much longer...

The scene opens back up in Atlanta, Georgia, in the home of the World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg. We are in the middle of an interview conducted by Mark Lloyd. Segment One featured an exclusive interview regarding one of Goldberg’s opponents at Backlash, Triple H. We now start off right where we left off, about to go to the topic of Goldberg’s other opponent, Chris Jericho.

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Well, now that we talked about the Game, Triple H, and now that we got some insight into your plan for Backlash, we will now move on to the Larger than Life, Living Legend... Chris Jericho.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Sounds good to me, Mark.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “First of all, what is your overall opinion of the self proclaimed King of the World, Chris Jericho?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, in my opinion, Jericho is a cocky, arrogant, son of a bitch. The very sound of his squeaky little voice makes my blood start to boil. Jericho will learn the hard way what its like to get your ass kicked instead of winning, like he thinks he will. Jericho thinks that he will walk into this match and get the pin... that he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion. But I, and the rest of the world, know differently. Jericho is nothing but a smart-ass punk. And Jericho, it’s time... it’s time to put up or shut up!”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “In an interview conducted earlier, Jericho stated many personal things towards you. Did you happen to hear what he said?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, I heard what he had to say. He said that I got everything handed to me when I first walked into the WWE. That statement couldn’t be more wrong. After all I did in WcW and in Japan, yeah, I expected to be given a little bit of special treatment... perhaps, skipping that first step on the ladder of success. But I, like everyone else, was forced to start at the bottom and work my way up. Shane Douglas and I were both starting out and very green to the business... the WWE bussiness that is. Shane and I developed a certain rivalry. It didn’t matter that he went on to become the Intercontinental Champion. It didn’t matter that he went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion. That all had nothing to do with it. There was always that who is the best type question surrounding us. That is the reason why we fought. But Jericho seems to think that I got handed everything. I got one World Heavyweight Title shot, Chris... one. And I was screwed out of it... and by who? Well, according to Chris, the person who owns the ass in which I kiss. Chris, I don’t know what kind of drugs your on, but I hate Shane McMahon’s guts and he hates mine. The feelings are mutual. So how can I possibly kiss ass if I hate their guts? You see, Chris, you are wrong. If I had a chance to do anything to Shane’s ass, I would kick it... just like I am going to kick yours, Chris, and just like I’m going to kick Triple H’s.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Last Thursday, on SMACKDOWN!, Chris Jericho hit you with a chair and then locked in the Walls of Jericho. Earlier today, Jericho claimed that the Walls of Jericho is devastating... What do you think of the move?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “It’s a great move, no doubt about it. Jericho is able to execute the move to perfection, locking in the Walls of Jericho to his helpless, screaming opponent. But Jericho, I hate to tell you, but your Walls of Jericho is no where near my Jackhammer. Sure the Walls of Jericho hurts, but the Jackhammer shows you a whole new meaning to the word pain. Imagine right after the Spear, getting picked up upside down and remaining that way... as all your blood rushes to your head. Then within a split second, you come crashing down to the mat with a 283 lbs. man slamming on top of you. Jericho, your Walls of Jericho will not win your the World Heavyweight Championship. It will not prove that you are what you say you are, the best. It will do nothing.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Very well. Goldberg, I have some footage on tape that I would like you to watch. It’s from an interview with Chris Jericho, which happened earlier today.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, sure. Put it in.”

Mark gets up and puts the tape into the VCR. The big screen TV turns on and shows footage of Chris Jericho from his interview...

| ‘Living Legend’ Chris Jericho | “Goldberg, see this is what I am talking about, the only reason why people like you is because you kiss their ass! Kids might has well as be giving you stink faces you are kissing their asses so much! Triple H has no accomplishments, and Goldberg, The World title is going to be your only one! How do the fans have anything to do with your so called Success? The success of sucking balls!”

As the tape stops, the camera goes back to Goldberg to catch his reaction. Goldberg is seen, head down, apparently very upset. After a few moments of silence, Goldberg raises his head and looks directly into the camera. He begins to speak, very serious.

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Jericho, I kiss no one’s ass. Like it or not, you have not done a damn thing in your career. If it wasn’t for the fans, you would be a bum living in Winnipeg. The fans are the ones that keep the WWE in business. I’m just giving credit when credit is due. Jericho, you should really take a look at yourself. Everybody in and out of the WWE knows that you are the biggest ass kisser around. You join Shane’s little alliance... the Corporate Alliance. Then you are given this World Heavyweight Title shot because you sucked Shane’s balls last night... Jericho, your entire career has been one big free ride. But it ends tomorrow night. The only free ride you’ll be getting is in an ambulance on the way to the hospital!”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Sorry about Jericho’s rude comments... anyway, Jericho went on to say that after he wins the World Title at Backlash, you won’t be receiving a rematch. Do you believe him or is he bluffing?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “First of all, I won’t need a rematch. Why? Because I will be walking out as the World Heavyweight Champion. Jericho, you are the one who’s going to need a rematch... and you’ll probably get one because you’re Shane O’ Mac’s ‘boy’. But that’s fine, ‘cause I will just keep knocking your ass right back down.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “How has your opinion changed about Jericho from when we started this interview and right now?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Heh... well, after watching that footage, Jericho is a dead man. Before, I was just going to walk in and win. But not anymore...oh no, no, no. I will no longer be satisfied with retaining my World Heavyweight Title... I am now angry. Jericho, I will not leave that ring until you have paid for your dumb little jokes. You will be on your knees, begging me to leave and I still won’t. I will make you eat every one of those words you said...”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Well, I don’t have any questions left. Is there anything else you would like to say?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, there is, Mark. Tomorrow night is my first title defense. I have held this World Heavyweight Title for a month... and I am not about to have my title reign end. This is the Goldberg Era... and it will last a long, long time. Everybody thinks that they have seen the real Goldberg? Well, they have a lot to learn. Everybody thinks that they have a reason to fear me? Well, just wait... I’ll give you a reason to fear me. Triple H, Chris Jericho, you both think that you have this match in the bag... you both think that you will be the next World Heavyweight Champion... but there’s only one person who can be champion and that’s me. Triple H, Jericho... get ready, Backlash is here... and YOU’RE ASSES ARE NEXT!!!”

Goldberg once again stares at the camera as it slowly fades to black...
