Forward ~ BACKLASH IS HERE!

Wrestlemania is over and done with... no matter the outcome, we must look ahead and keep trying... for bigger and more difficult challenges face us... now the pressures of holding a title face one individual... all will vie for the title... friends and enemies... retaliation will be made... the backlash from Wrestlemania will be brutal... everybody has marked a target on one man’s chest... but one thing is for sure, everybody has been marked as NEXT!

Scene 1 ~ The Game is Over!

The scene opens up in Atlanta, Georgia, the home of the World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg. In fact, the scene shows Goldberg’s driveway. A car pulls up as Mark Lloyd gets out, along with a cameraman. Mark walks to the door of the house and lightly knocks. After twenty seconds, the door opens up as Goldberg stands there. Mark and the cameraman walk in as Goldberg leads them to the living room. They all sit down, Goldberg on the couch, and Mark and the cameraman on chairs. The World Heavyweight Title is seen draped over the couch along side Goldberg.

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “First of all, Goldberg, I would like to thank you for welcoming us into your house here in Atlanta, Georgia. And for allowing us to conduct this interview.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, no problem. I always like to get my thoughts out before a big match such as this one.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Very well. Now, let’s rewind a little bit. Last Thursday, SMACKDOWN!, you took on the Undertaker. Can you explain to us exactly what happened?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, Mark, I hate to tell you, but once again I did exactly what I said I was going to do. I walked into Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, I walked down that ramp and I walked right into that match. I walked in and I kicked the Undertaker’s dead ass all over that ring. Then I pinned him 1..2..3. There was nothing more to it, plain and simple.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Let’s rewind a little further back now, to the night before Wrestlemania XX. Do you feel similar to how you felt that night?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, you could say that. But I was nervous then. That was my big opportunity and I knew there wouldn’t be another one. I was worried what would happen if I lost. But I didn’t... I won. I’ll tell you this, I certainly have a lot more confidence now than at Wrestlemania. I now know that I am the World Heavyweight Champion, not because I was handed it and not because of a fluke... because I won this title beating two great superstars in this industry... I am the true World Heavyweight Champion.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Let’s take your opponents for Backlash one at a time. First is Triple H, the very same man you fought in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania XX for the World Heavyweight Championship.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “That’s right, I did fight Triple H in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania XX for the World Heavyweight Title... and I won. But now Triple H gets another chance... another chance. I’m sick of all these chances Shane is just handing out. Where was my chance? The only chance I ever had of winning this title was to win the Royal Rumble, which I did, and then win at Wrestlemania XX, which I also did. But Triple H, he gets another shot. But that’s all fine and dandy, because the outcome this Sunday will be exactly like the outcome of Wrestlemania.. me standing over both men, with the World Heavyweight Title draped over my shoulder.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Coach interviewed Triple H after his match on SMACKDOWN!, and Triple H said that he is on a winning streak, and that it’s not just luck.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Triple H, you say that you are the best here. You brag about being in the ranked in the top three in the WWE... well, heh, do you know what I’m ranked? I’m number one. Then you say that you are the number one contender for the World Title... well, I am have the World Title. You can say it’s not luck but you know damn well it is. And that luck will end very soon... it will end tomorrow night at Backlash.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Triple H said that he just dragged Shawn Michaels throughout the match, beating him from turnbuckle to turnbuckle.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Triple H can say stuff like that all he wants. He always has and he always will. He brags about his wins and claims how easy the feat was. Triple H, you say you beat from turnbuckle to turnbuckle, well that’s exactly what I will do to you. I will beat the living life out of you and then I will keep doing it, until you can no longer stand... until blood has trickled down your face... until you can taste your own blood. Then, and only then, will I crouch down into the corner, waiting... waiting for you to slowly get to your feet. Then I will pounce and I will spear your ass to the mat. I will hit the Jackhammer and I will cover you for the 1...2...3!”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Triple H also said the time you have with title is slowly ticking away. Do you think so?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “No, I don’t. In my opinion, it is the exact opposite. The time Triple H has is slowly ticking away. Triple H’s winning streak is slowly ticking away. Triple H’s career is slowing ticking away. Get ready, Triple H, get ready for the match of your career...”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Triple H said that the one month difference will be a key factor to his victory at Backlash. Do you think that month has anything to do with it?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “One month... one year... one decade... it really doesn’t matter. Triple H says that he is ready this time. He says that this time will be different. This time he has earned his way into the match. Triple H, that one month just means that I have been able to train more... it just means that I am one more month tougher than I was at Wrestlemania... and you couldn’t beat me then. So what makes you think you can beat me now?”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Triple H said that you just might be that person he will never beat. Do you think so?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Absolutely. I have beaten Triple H three times already and I don’t plan to stop there. Triple H says that he won’t let it happen again, he won’t let me beat him again. But I find that quite funny, because he says that each and every time I face him. And yet, I still beat him. Triple H was right when he said that I am the one person he cannot beat. This is Triple H’s fourth chance to prove himself, yet he still won’t get the job done. Why not? Because I am the World Heavyweight Champion and I will remain that way for a long, long time.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “He also said that you taking pictures with the fans and your World Heavyweight Title makes him sick. He said that when he wins it, the fans won’t get a thing. How does this make you feel?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “It makes me sick. Triple H owes everything he has ever accomplished to the fans. The fans are the ones who go out night in and night out and watch us do what we love to do. I love to take pictures and sign autographs for the fans... I just feel its a small way to pay them back for all the success of myself and the WWE. No matter has happened, the fans have always stuck behind me through thick and thin...”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Speaking for the fans sticking behind you, Triple H said that after you lose the title the fans will turn on you. They will forget the name of Goldberg and they will always remember the match you lost.”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Well, I guess I better win tomorrow night then. But I’m not worried about the fans turning on me. They will know when my time is up... and it’s definitely not now. The fans will accept it when... if I ever lose the title. Because they know that I won’t give up and neither will they. If I lose sometime down the road, I will get right back up and I will keep kicking ass until I am once again the World Heavyweight Champion.”

| ‘WWE Interviewer’ Mark Lloyd | “Is there anything else before we go on to your other opponent?”

| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yes, Mark, there is. Triple H, do you honestly think that you got this match it the bag? Do you honestly think you can beat not only Chris Jericho, but a man that has already beaten you three other times? Do you honestly think that you are capable of holding the World Heavyweight Title? Well, if you actually believe any of these things, then you are in for a rude awakening. Triple H, you run your mouth week in and week out about how you are the best and that you and Stephanie rule the WWE... blah, blah, blah. Well, you have another chance to prove that you are right. All you have to do is pin me or Chris Jericho... that’s it. But for some reason, you and I both know that deep down inside, you don’t have what it takes to become the World Heavyweight Champion. You don’t have the will... the determination... and you certainly do not have the power. So Backlash is all about payback... payback for Wrestlemania. Triple H, you can beat up doors all day long but that doesn’t faze me. You want to prove yourself? Beat me... beat me in the middle of the ring tomorrow night. The fact is you can’t... the fact is the Backlash draws nearer and so does Triple H’s end. Triple H, for the fourth and final time... YOU’RE NEXT!!!”

Goldberg stares into the camera, not blinking and not saying a word. It is obvious how determined Goldberg is to win this match at Backlash. Mark Lloyd is speechless as the camera slowly fades to black...
