Scene 1 ~ An Interesting Interview...

The scene opens up backstage of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The show is now over as Goldberg is just leaving. Goldberg suddenly stops as he sees none other than WWE interviewer, Rico, standing down the hallway.

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “What the hell are you doing here?!”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Oh, I had tickets! But I was really hoping I could get an interview! That would be super!”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Heh... I am pretty tired... uh... Rico, is it?”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “That’s correct! But the interview will be quick. I can even follow you to your hotel room if you’d like...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “No! I mean... this is fine right here.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Okey dokey! First of all, were you surprised at all about how fast Stone Cold Steve Austin got this title shot? And do you think he deserves it?”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “I knew I would be facing the rattlesnake, but I had no idea he would get a shot this soon. It was just a few weeks ago he won a match that guaranteed him a shot at the Television Championship, and now he’s challenging me for the World Heavyweight Championship. I thought Stone Cold would have to battle out Triple H, Kurt Angle or Chris Jericho. But he was just thrown into this title match... much like Brock Lesnar was. Do you remember what happened to Brock, Rico? He was given a title shot when he wasn’t ready and I defeated him. Now he’s out looking for another job. Let’s just hope that doesn’t happen to Stone Cold Steve Austin.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “What do you think about Stone Cold and his beers?”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “It’s pretty sickening, Rick.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “It’s Rico! Rick sounds so dull!”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “I don’t really care what your name is. But Stone Cold needs to lay back on the beers if he even wants to think about beating me for my title. I can just picture him stumbling into the Hartford Civic Center, dead drunk. He’ll probably pass out before the actual match is even over... and he’s the one who’s walking around saying he will win! Heh, Stone Cold will win the same day that hell freezes over... or the day Stone Cold stops drinking. Rico, that day won’t be anytime soon.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Did you happen to see Stone Cold getting arrested the other day?”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Heh, yeah I saw that. Steve, come Sunday at Vengeance, I won’t go down as easy as that punk, Mitch, did. It’s going to take a lot more than a simple right hand to knock me down. I want you to bring everything you’ve got to Vengeance, Steve... that’s if you’re out of jail in time.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Actually the police officer never arrested him. He let him go for an autograph...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Is that so? Yeah, Stone Cold got the easy way out. But at Vengeance, there will be no easy way out. The only way out will be through me... and that’s not going to be an easy task, Stone Cold. The only way out this Sunday for you, Stone Cold, is in an ambulance... without the World Heavyweight title.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “In a different promo, Stone Cold stated that he also has respect for you... but he doesn’t want to kiss your ass. I would like to, though...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “What the hell are you talking about?! Stay back... anyway, I stated that I have respect for Stone Cold, but I never said a damn thing about kissing ass. I don’t kiss anyone’s ass and that is because nobody is great enough to deserve it. Stone Cold, I have respect for what you’ve done in the WWE... but I don’t have respect for your fans. You say you don’t ask for the fans... but you egg them on. You throw out your little catchphrases like telling the fans to give you a hell yeah to agree with you. Steve, don’t lie to me... I am the World Heavyweight Champion and I don’t deserve to be lied to. You stun people to get a reaction from the fans... you know as well as I do. Yeah, sure... maybe you didn’t want the fans appreciation, but when you got it, it started to feel good, didn’t it, Steve? The same thing happened to me. I didn’t care what the fans thought until I heard the people chanting my name. It began to grow on me, and I accepted it... I welcomed it. But that was a long time ago... not anymore. But Steve, you are still accepting those cheers.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Stone Cold said that he lost his drive and became concerned about entertaining the fans...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “That sounds familiar... that was the same idea with me. I became too involved with the fans and I became weak. Stone Cold, you became weak, too. But I thought you changed when you joined the Supremacy. I thought you finally blew off the fans once again. But as time goes on, the fans are cheering you once again. And soon those cheers will become comforting once again. Don’t give in to the fans, Steve... or you can forget ever holding this World Heavyweight Championship.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Stone Cold said that he found out that you have no fear...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “That’s right... Austin figured out my secret. I have no fear. I don’t fear my opponents... and I don’t fear the match itself. I know damn well no one can match up to me, so what is there to fear? Fear is just a four letter word... nothing more and nothing less. I hope that my promo ignited that fire deep inside Stone Cold. I don’t want to face some softy at Vengeance... I want to face that unpredictable, cold hearted, S.O.B., Stone Cold Steve Austin! When that bell rings, and we are staring each other down, I want to see coldness in the eyes of Stone Cold. I want to see no remorse, no mercy, no fear. That is what I have, Steve. Look into my eyes and you will see exactly what I have just mentioned...”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “I’ll look into your eyes...”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “No, that’s alright. Steve, I want you to be at your best, because I don’t want to tell people that I beat a washed up Stone Cold... I want to tell people that I defeated the sickest son of a bitch to ever step foot in the WWE... besides me, of course. I want to tell everybody that I survived that deadly bite of the rattlesnake... I just sat there as the venom pumped through my veins. Steve, I want this match to live up to its hype. And the match will live up to its hype if we’re both at our best. I will be...but will you?”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Steve said that he was talking a lot of shit before he regained his venom. What do you think?”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Stone Cold was talking a lot of shit... and he still is. He may have regained that coldness, but that still won’t help him when he‘s facing me. I am unstoppable, Rico... I thought I had made myself perfectly clear. Steve still thinks that he has what it takes to beat me this Sunday... but we all know the truth. We all know that when it comes down to the last few moments of the match... it will be a toss up. A toss up until I spear your ass to the mat and signal for the end. Then it will be clear... crystal clear... exactly who will be walking out as the World Heavyweight Champion. I will signal for the end and then I will pick up the motionless rattlesnake... and then I will drill him back into the mat with the most vicious Jackhammer ever seen. Then I will hook the leg for the 1..2..3! And then it will be over, Steve... your chance... your opportunity... it will all be over.”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Anything else?”

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Yeah, there is. Stone Cold, you are underestimating me. You praise me... saying that I am currently the best, and yet, you still think you will defeat me. Steve, you cannot underestimate a person when they have proven time and time again that they are the best. But yet, you still seem to not realize what you’re going up against. I am the World Heavyweight Champion... and I didn’t get here by looks...”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “You should have.”

Goldberg stares at Rico, and then turns his attention back towards the camera, ignoring him.

| ‘Da Champ’ Goldberg | “Like I was saying... I didn’t get here by looks. I sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears to get here and I am not about to lose it just yet. I have proven time and time again that I am the best the WWE has to offer, and Vengeance will be no exception. Once again I will show the world exactly why I am known as Da Man. I will show exactly why I am feared. And I will show exactly why I am the World Heavyweight Champion. Stone Cold says that he sees the World Heavyweight Title in his hands... but I’m the one who truly sees it in my hands and I see it remaining there after Sunday. Austin, I admit, this is my biggest challenge to date... but I know that I can defeat the Texas rattlesnake. Yeah, you may have that old rattlesnake feeling once again... but it’s too late for that. Stone Cold, get ready... ‘cause Da Man is back... and YOU’RE NEXT!!!”

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Thanks a lot for this fantastic interview, William. I haven't been given much opportunity to interview people."

Goldberg walks away without another word. Rico watches him leave and then looks at the camera.

| ‘Stylish Interviewer’ Rico | “Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen. This Sunday will be one of the greatest matches of all time when WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg, defends his coveted title against number one contender, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Both these men have proved themselves in the past... but only one will walk as the champion on Sunday. Can Da Man fight off the Texas rattlesnake and its deadly venom? Or will the rattlesnake strike and sink its fangs deep into Goldberg? There's only one way to find out... and that's by ordering Vengeance on pay-per-view this Sunday!"

The scene fades out as Rico walks away...
