" Destiny " He had one last chance... and he made the most of it. This past Thursday on Impact, Goldberg proved that he was still on top of his game by defeating seven of the greatest superstars to ever grace the WIW. From the moment Goldberg’s ominous music thundered throughout the arena to the moment when the referee’s hand slapped the canvas for the third time as Goldberg covered Sting, the fans knew what was going to happen. The fans knew that Goldberg would once again get what he has waited for... a shot at the World Heavyweight title. Now that Goldberg has won the eight-man battle royal... there is only one thing that stands between him and the World Heavyweight title... and that thing is Randy Orton. The future of the WIW hangs in the balance as the Corporate Alliance and the Supremacy square off once again. Will Da Man spear RKO back to reality? Or will Orton kill off another WIW legend? Destiny... does it really decide our fate? Does it really control who will do what and at what time? Some people seem to think so. One person is the current World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Orton said that it was his destiny to become the World Heavyweight Champion... and he did. Randy also stated that his destiny was to defeat ‘HBK’ Shawn Michaels for a second time at Soul Survivor... and he did. So was it really Randy’s destiny to achieve greatness? Or did Orton just get lucky? What about Da Man? Is it Goldberg’s destiny to become the champion once again? Or will Orton’s destiny of greatness continue, passing by Goldberg? And how will the CA and the Supremacy play a role in destiny? The only thing for sure is that this December will be a December 2 Dismember!
Scene 1
The scene opens up in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The traffic is heavy and the streets are packed with shoppers trying to buy last-minute gifts for Christmas. It is a gloomy day with heavy, dark clouds, ready to release the rain at any given moment. The pedestrians wear heavy clothing, as the weather is quite chilly. Among the people on the street is WIW superstar, Bill Goldberg. Goldberg wears a black, leather jacket, with an orange Harley Davidson logo across the front. He has his hands in the side pockets of the jacket. He walks until he reaches a tall, skinny brick building. Goldberg walks up three steps and opens the glass door as he walks inside. Goldberg is in the lobby of what appears to be a radio station in Atlanta, Georgia. Behind the receptionist’s desk, a large black sign hangs on the wall that says 99X : New Rock and 90s Alternative.
Goldberg glances at the sign as he walks up to the desk. The receptionist is busy typing on her computer as Goldberg clears his throat. She looks up from the computer, first noticing Goldberg’s arrival.
| ‘99X Secretary’ Kimberly | “I’m sorry, I didn’t see you... er, can I help you?”
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Yeah, I’m here for a radio interview...”
The secretary looks at Goldberg awkwardly.
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “I’m Bill Goldberg...”
The confusion leaves Kimberly’s face as she laughs.
| ‘99X Secretary’ Kimberly | “Oh, I’m terribly sorry. Your interview will be conducted shortly... you can have a seat and I’ll call you when their ready for you.”
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Alright...”
Goldberg walks back across the room and sits in a chair that one might find in a dentist's office. He sits back and thinks to himself about his huge opportunity he will get this Sunday at December 2 Dismember. He envisions himself becoming the World Heavyweight Champion for the third time in front of his hometown in Atlanta, Georgia. The secretary turns up her radio as a loud song breaks Goldberg’s concentration. The song is Fall to Pieces by Velvet Revolver. Goldberg looks at the small, wooden table beside him, cluttered with different magazines. Goldberg picks up a car magazine and flips through the pages. He looks at a picture of a Thunderbird, one that looks a lot like the one Goldberg owns. Just then a man walks in the door and walks over to Goldberg. Goldberg slowly lowers the magazine to find a man about 5’11” standing before him. The man wears a tan coat, with drops of rain on it. Obviously, it has started raining outside.
| ‘Goldberg Fan’ Jim | “I’m sorry to disturb you, Bill, but I was on my way to work and I heard someone say that you came in here. My son is a huge fan of you... your his hometown hero! So I was wondering if I could get a quick autograph?”
| ‘Da Man’ Goldberg | “Sure.”
The man hands Goldberg a newspaper and Goldberg scribbles his name onto it. The man thanks Goldberg for the autograph and then he is on his way. Goldberg watches him leave as he lifts his magazine back up and continues to read about the Thunderbird. Just then, the secretary calls out to Goldberg.
| ‘99X Secretary’ Kimberly | “Alright, Mr. Goldberg, the guys can interview you now...”
Goldberg nods his head as he sets the magazine back onto the wooden table and walks across the room towards a black curtain. The sign above the black curtain reads ON AIR.
| ‘99X Secretary’ Kimberly | “Good luck, Bill.”
As Goldberg walks through the black curtain, the scene slowly fades to black...
