(The scene opens up showing the large two-sided home of Rex Butler and Missy, in western Los Angeles. The sky is slightly overcast, with the signs of storm clouds on their way. The TWC camera crew van pulls up in front of the house where a cameraman and a reporter climbs out of the van. They look around at the area in the neighborhood. They make their way up the driveway where Rex’s ‘04 Honda Civic EX is parked just outside of the gate. The cameraman and reporter make their way up the front steps. Standing on the porch, the reporter knocks on the door as the cameraman begins filming. As they wait, the door opens as Missy greets them....)
Missy: "Oh, hey, guys. How can I help you?"
Reporter: “Missy... we were just wondering if we could get a few words with Rex, about his victory last weekend... and maybe some of his thoughts on Starcade...”
Missy: "I don't think that would be a good idea. He's really angry with Crasher right now, and it's just not a good time for an interview."
Reporter: “... well, we can understand that he might be a little well, unhappy right now. But we hope that you can understand where we’re coming from. We’re on a deadline to get something from Rex for this weekend – and we thought now would be the best time to get it.”
Missy: "Well, okay, I'll let you come in, but listen... if things get intense, you need to get out. Do not push Rex for more questions, no matter what. I've had a hard time keeping him under control since the Starcade card was announced."
(Missy opens the door, allowing the reporter and cameraman to enter the house. The camera shows the reporter making his way through the living room, making his way towards the hall way....)
Rex: “... God damn it! ....... I don’t think you’re in the position to tell me to calm down! After making the decision you did... you’re lucky I’ve been on this phone as long as I have! .... You know damn well why I’m angry! I think the only way you can ask that question and get away with it, is because you’re on the other end of a phone cord... no where near my site of vision. You ask that question to me right now, because you know that you don’t have to feel the “answer”. And don’t fucking tell me that what I just said is just a “threat”. You’ve seen what I can do - you’ve FELT what I can do! But why did you put me in this tag-team tournament? It’s because you didn’t want to put Rex Butler... the most hated, yet, most-wanted man in TWC in the main event. You saw what I did to Fusi0n last week on Stateside. You’ve seen what I’ve done over the last month since you re-opened the doors to me, and everyone else in the business. You don’t like having Rex Butler in the main event... yet, you know you can’t afford NOT to have me headline! Yet... instead of putting me in the top match of the first TWC pay-per-view and just under a year... you put yourself in the main event. And why? Because of the simple fact that, once again, you’re just trying to give away another portion of your company. But Crasher, since I’ve got you on the phone, I have to ask... why not just quit and give everything to ONE person? Why not give everything you own to someone that you hand pick... someone that you know will run the company like you want it to be run? I’ll tell you why. I’ll let you in on why I think you’re scared to give away everything. I don’t think you’re do it, because you’re afraid of taking yourself out of the limelight. You can’t stand to see someone else overshadow the “great” King Crasher. But, Crasher, you have to remember - even though I know you don’t want to - that there’s only really been one person that has overshadowed you longer then anyone else in TWC. And that one man? .... Well, Crasher.... it’s me. And I think you know that. And that... THAT, is why you’re forcing Missy to team up with me this weekend at Starcade. You’ve put us in the Starcade tournament... just because you know that by putting me with the one person that forbids to step foot in the ring... lessens the chances of Missy and I becoming Tag Team Champions. But that’s okay. You’ll see what I can do, single-handedly, when I’m put to the test. You and the rest of TWC will see that even though the owner may underestimate Rex Butler. No one else on this roster... will EVER make that same mistake again!”
(Rex slams down the phone, his face red with anger. Standing up from his chair, he turns around. He sees the cameraman and reporter...)
“Missy... what the FUCK are those two bastards in this house!”
Missy: "They just want to talk to you for a few minutes. I thought it would be okay as long as they keep it short."
Rex: “I want them to leave.... right... NOW!”
(Rex begins to walk towards the hall way, with his eyes set on the reporter. The cameraman backs up into the wall on the other side of the hallway, knowing a picture frame off his hook. The frame falls to the ground, slightly cracking the glass that covers the picture. Rex, hearing the glass shatter, turns his attention to the cameraman. Rex storms over and connects with a kick the mid-section. The camera falls to the ground, glitching as it adjusts to the new angle it has, laying on the ground. Out the sight, the sound of Rex ramming the cameraman’s head into the wall can be heard as dust and fragments of the wall crumble to the ground. Missy screeches as she sees the destruction Rex is causing, in their home. After disposing of the cameraman, Rex makes his way to the reporter. The reporter, trying to get out of the house, backs away towards the front door. Backing all the way, to where his back is against the door, the cameraman becomes stuck between the closed door and the body of Rex. Rex, sensing the horror in the reporter, leans down and looks at him in the face...)
Rex: “... Get... out.”
(... the reporter opens the door and sneaks out, running towards the van. Rex, looking through the screen, glares after him. Slamming the door, Rex turns around to see Missy standing in the hall way, looking over the destruction that Rex has caused...)
Missy: "Rex, you have got to calm down! They just wanted to ask a few, harmless questions. What did you do this for?"
Rex: “... you know I have a reason for doing what I did. I know that you don’t want to get into the ring, or even step foot into that arena this Saturday night... other then to accompany me down that aisle. But you “must”. Crasher told me that any match you do NOT step foot into the ring, during... will be forfeited and it will count against us. Now, that doesn’t really matter to me, because we both know how much I care about the tag team titles. I would rather have to take on every other team: Apex, Winkle Piddle and Loose Cannon and Deacon... by myself... rather then have you step foot in there and injure yourself. You’re NOT a wrestler anymore, Missy... they know that. I know that – Crasher knows that. But he also knows how to get under my skin. And that’s what he’s doing. It’s plain to see that. But it doesn’t matter. He’s done it before - and I’ve prevailed. This time will be no different! I may not care to have the titles – but, if I must go through the tournament... I WILL win them! It will just be another title reign that will added to my career of destruction in TWC. Everyone’s got their issues with someone coming into this weekend. There’s a lot of back-story that will be weighing on the shoulders of many of our opponents at Starcade. And, do you want to know the only difference? The only difference is – I have no “weight” on my shoulders. I have no “back-story”. I don’t have issues with anyone.... I have issues with everyone! There are six other people that are standing in our way of being the new Tag Team Champions. Yet... even knowing that I don’t give a damn about those belts, Crasher as put us in the midst of the yearly Starcade tournament. So, my question to everyone in TWC - especially Crasher - is this: Who better to be tag team champions, then the two people in the company that a) one doesn’t want to wrestle, and b) the other one doesn’t really give a damn about being a tag team champion? Who better to hold the titles than the two people that are the furthest away from a “team”? We’re a team... but when it comes to wrestling... everyone knows, including you - that I don’t work well with others....”
Missy: "Oh, Rex, how can you threaten me, of all people? I'm not going to get in your way at Starcade, and you know that. I'll stand back and let you do what you do best. Besides, I've got other things on my plate right now."
Rex: “Well... I know that you have some things to think about – as do I. I have to get ready for the decimation of six. That’s one of the bigger numbers that I’ve had to work with so far in my career. But it should not be that hard to destroy those who are privileged enough to be in the ring with myself, and you. They may think they each have their chances of becoming TWC Tag Team Champions... yet, the only way ANY team can get a shot at the titles... is by getting past me, first.”
(Rex storms out of the scene as Missy is standing in the living room, thinking about what has just been said. The door, leading to the basement of their home can be heard slamming shut, as the house gets eerily quiet. Suddenly, the phone in the kitchen beings to ring, bring the silence and sending Missy jumping into the air, startled. She runs into the kitchen, where she picks up the phone...)
Missy: Hello? Yes, this is her. Oh, hi. You want Rex and I to do what?"
(...The scene fades to black as Missy is seen turning her head, looking at the door leading to the basement...)
