Turbulence

The scene opens up as the camera shows a group of people exiting an airplane, walking through the taxi to the main terminal where they will meet up with their loved ones and other friends and family. One man stands out from the group as he hovers over them, making himself a target for whispered questions and unnoticed stares. He looks around as he reaches the terminal; he hears the sounds of people talking inside in head yet, he never understands why is being said. He makes his way down the terminal trying to block out the stares that he - and only he - can feel. As he passes by a coffee shop and a sports bar, there’s a scream heard from inside. Any other person would’ve tried to see what was going on; however, the figure keeps slowly walking by...
”Hey, everyone! Look, it’s Rex Butler!”
... the figure stops walking and turns around, slowly staring in the direction of the unwanted advertisement. The group of people being to laugh as one man stands up and looks in Rex’s direction...
”Hey Rex! Welcome to Boston! Hope you brought a bag for that face of your’s! You’re gonna need it after you lose to my man, Sneaky Pete tonight! Have fun, “Rexy Boy”!”
...the man gets a high-five from one of his “buddies” as the group starts to laugh again. Rex turns around, and smirks to himself as he begins to walk away. The scene fades to black...
... ... ... 30 MINUTES LATER ... ... ...
The scene opens as Rex is seen sitting in a chair, surrounded by people of all walks of life. He is facing the main walkway, trying to see any semblance of the man from earlier on. During his wait, Rex has blocked out all communication with his “neighbors” and fans alike. To him, it is unwanted annoyance that would only hinder his present goal. These other people mean nothing to Rex, at this moment. He is fixated on one person, and one person only. Everyone around him, from this point on - until his goal is met - will be useless background material, never to be remembered.... just the way he wants it. After another ten minutes or so, Rex notices the fan going into a nearby bathroom. Rex straightens up and slowly gets out of his chair. The people in his area look up as he walks away. He makes his way through the crowd of people and stands next to the bathroom exit, waiting to confront his opponent’s supporter one-on-one. A moment or longer passes before the fan gets out of the bathroom. He sees Rex and stops...
”Ah, Rex. Wow... I guess what they say IS true. Big, slow people ARE retarded! You know, there’s another way to get into the “john”, and you don’t have to worry about opening a door! Because I know how hard that must be for you...”
”You’re funny.”
... the man turns around with a shocked smile on his face. He looks at Rex, speechless...
”I find what you say amusing. But, that still doesn’t make you the smartest person in the world. Because your life wouldn’t be that endangered had you just left your mouth shut...”
”What the hell are you talking about!?”
... before he can finish his thought, Rex grabs the fan’s head and shoves it into the wall just outside the bathroom door. As the man screams in pain, its seen that there’s a small gash on his forehead. The can crumples to the ground; the blood slowly trickles down the bridge of his nose. Rex bends down and stare at the fan, whose eyes begon to wander from side to side out of shock....
” I don’t know what your name is or where the hell you’re from... but if you get in contact with Sneaky Pete, you can tell him that you know what it feels like to be him. You can tell him that it’s a horrible idea to cross paths with me. But he’ll find that out soon enough - tonight to be exact - and if he sees this, he can expect to end up in the position you are...laid out on the floor, blood pouring from your face. And me, standing over-head, starring down at yet another worthless excuse of human life.”
... Rex stands back up and pushes the man’s head back into the wall. The an slouches forward, unconscious, as Rex makes his way back to his seat. The people in his are all move over in their chairs as he walks closer, rubbing his hands together, and glaring straight ahead through the huge pane of glass in front of him. Before he is able to sit down, he notices a TWC cameraman making his way towards the sitting area. As the running cameraman comes closer, Rex braces himself for the up-coming interview...
”Rex... REX! Last night, there was a response by Sneaky Pete to your statements earlier this week. As you’re aware, his statements were direct shots at you personally. Do you have anything you’d....”
”You know for a face that I have something to say to that little piece of trash! Sneaky Pete, you say I don’t scare you? That whatever I do, you think of it strictly as a joke? Well, let me ask you something, Pete: How do you expect me, or anyone in TWC to take you seriously when all you’re good at is making fun of your opponents, for the sole amusement of the $2.50 whores you are now constantly seen with? The only way they are impressed with you - it’s not your talent or job - it’s by the fact that you can consistently whip out their money long enough to make them stay a little longer. You can’t impress them by talking to a television set. You can’t expect me to take you seriously when you’re in a lounge with people that are only there because you pay them...”
“You’re expecting me to come to that ring and do the same things I’ve done for the last two years? Well, that’s most likely what’s going to happen. Because for the past two years, no one has been able to stop me from doing what I want. And, yes, it might be the same style, but why change it when you know it works? Pete, I’m still not sure why you decided to come back, but I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that you were trying to impress someone. Well, that doesn’t matter, really, to me. I don’t care who you’ve impressed or who you’re currently ignored by. All that matters to me is, tonight, when we step foot inside that ring, there will be no one to save you. The only way you can make it out of this match is if I let you.”
“Now, yes, that is what you called my “typical response”. I’ve probably said all the things you were looking for. Well, I’m glad I can give you more material. Even though all you say outside the ring doesn’t mean shit... if you can’t back it up in the ring. Either way, Pete, it doesn’t matter if you’re one hundred percent or not. Everyone knows who will win this match. It might even be in your best interest to not show up tonight... that way, you’re guaranteed the chance to wrestle again. I’ve warned you before, Pete... tonight, TWC returns - Rex Butler returns with a vengeance... and there’s nothing you can do to change that fact.”
...with that, Rex turns away and heads towards the terminal. The camera shows him walk out of sight as the scene fades to black.
