The Art of Perception

[The Art of Perception]
"No pain...no gain."

Perception; noun
A result of perceiving; A mental image

Marcus Menace: So, I guess short and simple is the way you like it, huh?

.:The cameras fade into what seems to be a suburban type of area with very few vehicles passing by. We slowly move in from off of the streets and up a set up stairs…in comparison to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. But instead of us having a field trip to Washington, D.C, we move up the steps some more to see Marcus Menace standing in front of a building that looks like a museum. There are no people around and matter of fact by looking at the height of the sun, we can guess it is around 8:30 in the morning. There are no visitors to the museum but we can see that Marcus made it there bright and early. The cameras move in faster on Marcus as he stares down the viewers at home and the cameraman who is having him on film. Marcus yawns and wipes his sweat on his Steve McNair Tennessee Titans jersey we have seen all too many times before.:

Marcus Menace: Ladies and gentlemen here we are. I stand before you at the grand palace of them all…and even though I stand here bright and early in the morning…getting grilled hotter by the sun than a freaking’ burger…I can truly say that it is all worth it. I stand before you all today to make my last and final point of the week. You see, all this week, we have heard from the likes of Ryan Knite…from the likes of Inferno…from people like Keyser Soze and J Stevenson to people like Drew McGatha and Ritchie Danko. But you know something, when it all comes down to it, that isn’t what Doomsday is about. What Doomsday is about is me. Who cares about Ryan Knite and how he’s facing someone mentally ill for the Omega Championship?…Who cares about how Keyser Soze and J Stevenson are going to destroy each other tomorrow night?…and who really cares about the U.S Championship being on the line with two guys such as McGatha and Danko?…see, it ain’t about that. It’s about the Alpha…and the Omega. It’s all about the beginning and the end. Tomorrow night is only the beginning and right here where I stand…is where it all ends.

.:Marcus Menace motions to the cameras.:

Marcus Menace: Follow me.

.:Marcus turns around, walks up several steps and opens the door for the cameras to enter. When we enter, we are greeted with a row of darkness…but the darkness slowly turns into light as come to a brightly light room. In this room we see large pieces of Chaos Heat Zone memorabilia. We see photographs and pieces of Chaos Heat Zone history. Marcus waves at a security guard that is nearby who is watching television on a small five screen as he makes his way into the museum. He makes his way past the small pieces of memorabilia that lies in the lobby followed by walking away from the huge Chaos Heat Zone banner. Marcus then makes a couple of sharp lefts and rights as he comes to another huge room. We try to capture what is in this room but just as we do, Marcus spins around and gets face to face with the camera lens.:

Marcus Menace: Here we are. We are inside of the place where we all fight to be. We are inside of the very prestigious room where we spill blood, sweat and tears for. We sacrifice our lives to be noticed in a room like this. This very building that I stand in, I feel grateful to even be standing here. This very place is where the legends are honored, respected and welcomed…and one day I hope…no…I know that I will be in this room along side these men. The art of perception leads you to believe that where we stand is a museum. You all have this mental vision of this room being full with scientific artifacts and things of that nature. But you would be fooled...because that is not what this room is. The art of perception have you all fooled. For those who do not know, this room...and this entire building...is none other than the Chaos Heat Zone Hall of Fame. And what I am here to do is point out something very, very special to you people out there...and try not to place some individuals in a deep sleep...because Manson, this involves you too.

.:Marcus Menace steps off from the camera and see that this room is covered in yellow. It is not before long that figure out that this room belongs to none other than Chaos Heat Zone owner and Hall of Famer “The Franchise” Matt Helms. Menace makes the most of the moment and looks around at the prestigious history of the one true franchise. Marcus then moves away from a picture with Matt Helms capturing the Chaos Heat Zone World Championship for the first time and walks over to a gold plague with his name and his face engraved on the front. Marcus Menace then begins to read the gold plague aloud for the viewers to hear.:

Marcus Menace: "The Franchise" Matt Helms. Who cannot be a fan of greatness?…Matt Helms, simply known as "The Franchise", has many fans, both from within the CHZ and throughout the wrestling community. So that is why it's hard to summarize a Franchise, especially the one who has graced the CHZ. Webster dictionary defines a Franchise as an immunity or exemption from ordinary jurisdiction. Thus the term Franchise is so fitting for Matt Helms for many reasons. One being that the existence of the CHZ before Helms appeared, may be foggy to many. But the years that Helms have been dedicated to the CHZ are easy to remember, and are often looked back on as some of the greatest moments in wrestling. Following the footsteps of greats such as JT Fringe, Helms quickly became the talk of the CHZ, and along with Fringe, is the only other man to hold the CHZ World Championship on three separate occasions. His fantastic career as a wrestler is almost too vast to mention, but deep-seated storylines and feuds have always been the center of his agenda. Many veterans would attempt to test their skills against Helms, but one hundred percent of the time, they all would walk away with their ass handed to them...Franchise style. The absolute dominance of a complete roster can only be looked upon with awe, but the Franchise's love of the business will always be one of the clearest things that everyone will talk about. His career continues to grow and develop, as the current owner and CEO of the Chaos Heat Zone. Wednesday Night WILD, and the monthly Pay-Per-Views have never seen the success they are seeing now. Looking back at a career of wrestling that was destined for Hall of Fame status, one can only watch with open eyes, as Matt Helms takes the CHZ to heights that only a Franchise can achieve.

.:A broad grin comes along the face of Marcus Menace as Marcus rubs Helm’s gold plague for good luck. He then turns around and faces the camera, with his hands crossed and looking like a television show host.:

Marcus Menace: You see, what this plague right here says is that Matt Helms evolutionized this sport. What it means is that Matt Helms had the ball placed in his hands…and just like any good running back would do…he took the ball and ran with it…and ran with it successfully. You see, without Matt Helms, I wouldn’t have a job. I realize that and I thank him for it. I thank Helms for giving me another shot at this business and realizing talent…when he sees it. Without Matt Helms there would be no Chaos Heat Zone. But not only was this man the mastermind behind the Chaos Heat Zone…not only was Helms a three time Chaos Heat Zone Heavyweight Champion…but also in between all of that…he was a Chaos Heat Zone Alpha Champion, also. Now…follow me.

.:Marcus Menace motions at the camera once again to follow him and we follow. Marcus makes another several turns as we go through the history of the Chaos Heat Zone. Menace then stops as he enters another room. In this room we gather several pictures but it also does not take long for us to realize that this room belongs to former Chaos Heat Zone member…and now Hall of Famer…Don “The Game” Rossi. Marcus nods his head in disgust…but continues his way into the room and onto the plague for Rossi where he reads it out loud again.:

Marcus Menace: Don "The Game" Rossi. Don "The Game" Rossi and the CHZ go together like bread and butter. The CHZ has grown over the years, and Rossi along with it. The CHZ cannot be mentioned without thinking of the blood, sweat, and tears shed by Rossi. The Game has been involved in almost every type of match and storyline that past and present owners could fire at him, and Don could always be counted on to find something positive in them. Don can be looked upon as one of the founding and developing members of the CHZ, because when the CHZ first opened doors back in 2000, Rossi was the first main event. "The Game" angle can be remembered for some of the most entertaining moments in the overall history of the CHZ. Matches with Thor, the Rattlesnake, the Count, and Crimson Dagger are some of the highlights of Rossi's career. Title belts were always in the eyes of Rossi, and the North American/US title has to be one of the titles that was benefited most from Rossi being the holder. Later in his career with the CHZ, the Game introduced us to his brother Darryl Rossi, his wife Kelly, and the Team Extreme stable. Rossi's ever-explosive selection and vast knowledge of wrestling, have always been something many have been jealous of. With the CHZ going into the future, and many things change over time. But the history and greatness of what it once was can be quickly remembered when mentioning the name of Don "The Game" Rossi.

.:Marcus Menace looks disgusted with what he just read and looks as if he is about to vomit. He contains his composure though and goes to rub Rossi’s head for good luck…but as he does he quickly pulls his hand back and turns his attention towards the camera.:

Marcus Menace: Now I am not too fond of Rossi here. See, I don’t see Rossi is this sort of light. Hell, I don’t even think he belongs in this building…but you know something?…a job is a job…and the fact of the matter is, even though it kills me to say this and even though the Elite Impact Players pretty much ended Team Extreme, let me say that this man was also the Chaos Heat Zone Alpha Champion. Now…walk with me.

.:Marcus Menace begins to walk out of Don “The Game” Rossi’s hall of fame room as the cameras get a look at him from the side and as he begins to speak again.:

Marcus Menace: I came here today to prove a point and for those that have not seen it yet it should be as simple as….life and death. You see, quite frankly, the Chaos Heat Zone Alpha Champion has been nothing but a stepping-stone. A building block if you will. By winning this title it moves you on the path to greatness. You take a look at the current hall of famers that are here in this building who held the CHZ Alpha Championship. Matt Helms…and Don Rossi. And then you take a look at the recent holders who have held the title and look at where the title has catapulted them. People like Keyser Soze, Steven Hulin, Drayton MacPhereson and Lucifer. All have been former Heavyweight Champions here in the Chaos Heat Zone and all look to be sure bets to be in the hall of fame…all after winning…the CHZ Alpha Championship. And now…it is my turn to bat. It’s now my turn to claim what is rightfully mine. The Chaos Heat Zone Alpha Championship. No more of the bullshit, Manson. There is no more of the game playing and the verbal abuse that we have spoken back at each other all week long. Tomorrow is put up…or shut up time. Tomorrow is where you show your true colors, Tommy. Tomorrow is where all the sleeping you did when you should have been paying attention to me is going to not fall in your favor. Tomorrow is where I defy all of the odds…again and tomorrow…is where I capture the Alpha Championship and put myself inside of the history books. See Tommy, I don’t think you understand. I don’t think you get the point of I don’t care about the people. This is all about me. You think having breakfast in a gas station diner is going to amuse me?…you think speaking with refugees that you picked up from off of the road is going to scare me?…well, it doesn’t. It just disappoints me more. I mean why the hell would someone place such a historical place like the CHZ Hall of Fame in such a downtrodden city like Chester, Pennsylvania…or as what you like to call…home.

.:Marcus Menace shares a laugh with himself as he reaches the lobby of the Hall of Fame.:

Marcus Menace: And Tommy, while you are out having breakfast at gas station diners talking with little orphan Annie, I am out here having breakfast at five star restaurants. Restaurants that are state of the art. Restaurants that you could not possibly afford...and could have you on the street with just one meal. So go ahead...waste your eggs, toast...and your hash browns...because I hope that when you dream and see the carnage that I will cause on your pathetic little soul tomorrow night in front of a sold out crowd in Anchorage...that you don’t throw it up. Bon appetite!

.:Marcus Menace turns his head towards the left and with only the left side of his face gives the fans at home an evil grin as the cameras once again fade...to...black.:
