* Heather's Thoughts *

~ Exhaustion was seeping through my body like a disease. The urge to pass out right where I stood was overpowering, but I urged myself to go further. I hadn't reached the top of the mountain yet, and that was my goal. A five-mile run, but a rocky, steep mountain, where my horse would be waiting for me. That would finish my cardio for the day, and I would finally be free to go back to the house to shower, and sit with my sister and best friend. I looked up despite myself. Not far now, I could see the chestnut mare, Cinnamon, waiting for me. I couldn't sit down and rest, for I knew it I did, I would lose my desire to finish. My abs and thighs burned from the hike, a small price I had to pay for keeping in shape. The farther up I went, the more the unrelenting sun beat down on me. I had no doubt that I was very tan by now. My foot finally found the solid, flat surface I was longing to reach, and I collapsed onto a boulder. Panting, I reached around my book bag for the ice cold water bottle I had in there. I found it and drank it all in two sips. I grabbed the other one and poured it down my body. As I let the warm breeze catch it, I undid my braid and shook my dark hair loose. It was damp with sweat, and didn't flutter in the hot breeze as it normally would. The sun beat down on it, quickly bringing more heat to my already over-heated body. I sat for a few minutes, determined to catch my breath. I looked up at my horse, who was staring back at me with soft brown eyes. I put my hand out and he walked over loyally, bending his head so I could stroke his soft black mein. I pulled out the last water bottle, this one bigger than the rest, and a bowl. While there was plenty of grass for Cinnamon to graze on while he was waiting for me up here, he had nothing to drink. I filled the bowl up with icy cold water and set it down for him to drink from. As he eagerly lapped it up, I stood up and walked over to the edge of the mountain to observe the scenery. It was about noon by now, so the sun was just starting to shine its brightest. My house, the one story, wide ranch style home, look like a speck in the distance. In the huge, wide yard was a barn, for my horse, a pond, where my sister, friend, and I went swimming on hot days like this. There was also a huge patio for outdoor parties, and a trail that led into the beautiful bit of forest that only I went into. All of this was set in a El Paso, Texas, away from the city streets and tourist traps. It was a beautiful piece of country, and I felt lucky everyday to have found it. ~
~ I lost myself in these thoughts, thinking of all the memories I already had in this house. Only 25 years old, and I felt like an old woman. I looked towards the forest and thought wistfully of the memories that were associated in there. It involved the one guy I had ever truly loved, Steve Jason. Memories of our break-up clouded my head, and, like they always did, brought down my spirits. I still loved him deeply, and it broke my heart that he wouldn't leave XWF and join me in my new federation. Sin Wrestling. He had begged me not to go, to stay in XWF with him. But he just didn't understand. Jon Brown was a sexist pig, only concerned with what brings in the money, not the potential of his superstars. All he saw women being useful for were wrestling in big pools of jello. He screwed over too many of my female friends, and when he started to do the same to me... Well, I just can't accept that. Yes, a woman I might be, but a girly girl I am not. When I found out that many of my friends from XWF had come to Sin, I knew where I belonged. I asked Steve if he had wanted to come with me, but he said he had too much going for him in XWF. How, I don't know. Jon Brown hates him as well, and will do everything in his power to hold Steve, and Steve's tag team partner, Jem Williams, down. But that's on him. I can't pine away forever for something that was obviously not meant to be. Still... I couldn't help but see Steve's face clearly in my mind. The short, soft brown hair, well defined face with the pouty lips, and beautiful icy-blue eyes. It was a face I had grown to love deeply, and still did love deeply. ~
~ I stood up then, pushing these thoughts aside. I was going to make a new start here in Sin wrestling. I finally found a federation where the women were treated as equals with the men. I've seen old tapes, so I know this to be true. I knew I could finally get to where I have been striving five long years to get to. It was so interesting how much of a winding path one can follow to get to their dreams. Mine is no different from anyone else's, I'm sure. Mine was full of the same heartache, contreversy, stipulations, betrayal, so on. I know there is a reason for all of this to have happened. Everytime it seemed like I was about to make a name for myself somewhere... Something always happened that ruined it. I know there has to be a reason, but it's happened so many times, I just want to scream. Not this time, though. This time, I was in the right place at the right time. I can feel it through my veins. It makes my heart beat a little faster thinking of the potential I've got in this new atmosphere. I wasn't alone. Three of my closest friends were already here. Several familar faces that had jumped ship from XWF to Sin were here, as well. Not only that, there was a new roster full of fresh challenges and faces. Nothing could hold me back now. I had the whole world in front of me, and nothing was going to stop me this time. Was it? ~

* Location: Heathers Ranch House in El Paso, Texas. Time: 8 pm *

~ Heather Halliwell sat at the candle-lit patio table laughing. In her hand was a glass of red wine that her sister had just poured for her. With her free hand, she sweapt a tumble of raven black wavey locks behind her shoulders. She was wearing a pair of Daisy Duke like shorts and a turqouise tank top that matched the color of her eyes. Her sister, Holly Halliwell, sat across from her, giggling drunkenly. Her slight dancers build was donning a pretty, but casual blue sundress. Her long blonde hair fell in similar waves to Heather's, held back by two simple barretts. She also had the stunning turquoise eyes that Heather had. Heather and Holly's best friend, Heff Bentley, sat in between them on the end of the small table. She had curly hair the color of a vivid red sunset, melding beautifully with her naturally pale skin and hazel eyes. She was small like Holly, wearing tight blue jeans and a CKY tank top. They had just finished dinner and Holly was proposing a toast to Heather's newest career move. ~

Holly Halliwell
Always a shame that you had to leave SJ. But hey, if it gets you to where you wanna go, then by all means. Here's to you and to Sin!

Heff Bentley
And not just that, but to Heather's first match, in which she will come out victorious, as always!

Heather Halliwell
You guys are too much. But thank you. I don't know when I will get to see you guys again once I am on the road, so thank you for spending my last night in Texas with me.

Heff Bentley
Did we have a choice? After all, we do sort of live together.

Heather Halliwell
Hey, I was only trying to have an emotional moment! Why do you gotta go ruin it?

Holly Halliwell
Because she, like you and I, are very tipsy.

Heather Halliwell
Fair enough. So what is this big surprise that you two have been going on and on about all day?

Heff Bentley
We have a surprise for Heather?

Holly Halliwell
Yeah, I just didn't tell you about it, because I knew you would tell her.

Heff Bentley
Thanks for the vote of confidence you got going for me there.

Holly Halliwell
I love you!

~ Heff just sticks her tongue out playfully at Holly. The pretty blonde just shakes her head and runs into the house. Heather and Heff sit outside waiting, sipping their wine. Holly comes rushing out a moment later, smiling widely. Heather raises one eyebrow at her, wondering what her sister is up to. ~

Holly Halliwell
So I was out shopping the other day, and low and behold, I run into two old friends of yours, Heather. Two friends you haven't seen since your days as a teenager, training in that craphole little wrestling school. Anyway, they asked me about you, and I told them what was going on. They asked if they could come see you tonight before you left, and I didn't see why they couldn't. So may I present to you now... Trent and Johnny!

~ Heather spits her wine out of her mouth in disbelief. From the sliding french doors came her two former trainers and closest friends in the wrestling business, Trent Acid and Johnny Kashmere. They were barely older than her, both of them very handsome. Johnny, with his unruly black hair, soft brown eyes under his glasses, messy beard. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black jeans over his lean, muscular frame. Then there was Trent. His long, curly auburn hair was in its usual messy ponytail, but his brown eyes twinkled with the usual mischief that lurked behind them, along with the sly grin he usually wore on his face. He was wearing his pot leaf hat over his hair, cargo shorts and a white wife-beater. Heather jumped excitedly out of her chair and grabbed them both in a big hug. ~

Heather Halliwell
You guys, oh my god! This makes this night totally better! I can't believe you actually came to my house for once. How are you?

Trent Acid
Oh, the same ole, same ole. Got a bunch of students that we are whipping into shape, but of course, none of the girls will ever match up to you or Lily.

Johnny Kashmere
And there's Trent, kissing your ass again. It's good to finally see you make it to a federation that won't screw you over.

Trent Acid
That's the truth. Seriously Heather, my offer still stands. If you want me to kick Jon Brown's ass for you, I'll do it.

Heather Halliwell
Really, it's okay Trent. I'm out of there now, no need to dwell on whats already done and can't be taken back.

Johnny Kashmere
See Trent, this is why Heather went farther than Lily. Both had the talent, but Heather had more common sense.

~ Everyone sat down, and Holly poured Johnny and Trent glasses of wine. The five spent the whole night laughing, talking, and having a great time after that. They lost track of time, and before they knew it, it was 3 am. Holly's 2 year old daughter, Tegan, started crying loudly. This snapped Holly out of her drunken stupor and she stumbled upstairs to tend to her baby. This left Heff and Heather alone with Johnny and Trent. The four just exchanged glances at each other and would all ask "what" at the same time. Around the fifth time this happend, Johnny and Trent stood up. Heather and Heff stood up as well. ~

Trent Acid
Well ladies, tonight was superb. Thanks for the drinks, but we have class tomorrow morning.

Heather Halliwell
You mean, THIS morning. But I know what you mean. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Johnny Kashmere
Anything for our girl. I trust you still have both our numbers?

Heather Halliwell
Of course.

Johnny Kashmere
Then use them once in a while. Don't forget the old boys, even when you get bigger than Trish Stratus.

Trent Acid
And hey! When your neck deep in money, feel free to lend some to your ole pal Trent!

~ Heather laughs and pushes Trent playfully. Trent catches her by the arms and pulls her into a huge hug. His lips brush hers softly in farewell. Something inside Heather stirs, for she had always carried a torch for Trent. Trent looks deeply into her eyes, scorching her soul and leaving a permanet mark. He lets her go, and Heather drifts into Johnny's arms. He places a friendly peck on her cheek and she returns it with one of her own. He whispers "good luck" as he hugs her then lets her go. The men walk out the door, Heather staring longingly after Trent. Heff catches on and clears her throat. ~

Heff Bentley
Let it go, girl. Trent is the one guy you'll always want, but will never have.

Heather Halliwell
I know... But I can't help but just wish that maybe... One day.

Heff Bentley
Okay, time to focus on something else. Did you know they added a fourth person to your debut match this week?

Heather Halliwell
Yeah, Vampira... I don't know why, but that name sounds really familar...

Holly Halliwell
I'm back! And... Hey! Where did Johnny and Trent go?

Heather Halliwell
They have classes to train in the morning, so they left. And I have a plane to catch at noon, so its best that we be getting to bed, as well.

Holly Halliwell
Oh... Alright.

~ Holly sounds a little disappointed, but covers it up with a smile. The girls clean up their glasses and head to their respective bedrooms. Heather closes the door behind her and looks around. The light lilac walls were in total contrast to the outrageous neon purple and green bed. A cherry wood dresser stood next to the walk in closet. A silver vanity table was on the other side of the room, next to the window. Heather falls onto her bed and stares up at the ceiling, still thinking about Trent, her match, and what her career in Sin are going to be like. Without even changing, she snuggles up to her pillow and falls into a deep sleep. ~
