*The heart of El Paso, Texas, Roberts and Nicholson Partnership, around noon*

** It's an extremely hot day outside. The scene, as it were, is inside a business type building. It's just as hot in the building, which the lawyers had warned Heather and Holly Halliwell that it would be. The air conditioning system was broken, and the electrician wouldn't be in to fix it until Friday. Holly looked extremely uncomfortable in her dark blue business suit. Her blonde hair was now fixed in a tight bun, beads of sweat seen very clearly trickling down her forehead. Heather dressed in her usual casual style, wearing low rise black jeans and white tank top. Her black hair sweapt in a dark mass around her shoulders. She pushed it back casually, feeling the dampness in the back from sweat. Ignoring it, she tried to pay attention to what the lawyers are telling her. Instead, she found herself focusing on the lawyers appearances. She had no particular reason to do this, it had always been a habit of hers. One is a man in his mid-40's, named William Nicholson, with dark, yet graying hair. He was tall and lanky, sporting a pencil mustache and had a sly air about him. The woman, named Cloe O'Brien, was the newest addition to the company, just out of Harvard law school. She was an extremely pretty girl with rich brown hair, hazel eyes, and a look of experience maturing her otherwise very child-like face. She was Holly's height, and wearing a skirted, dark green business suit that complimented her beautifully. Heather was still admiring Chloe's innocent beauty when she realized Holly was nudging her in the ribs. She sat up quickly, trying to remember the last thing that was said. **

Holly Halliwell
What do you think, Heather? Will that tactic work, or do you think Hallie will be sly enough to talk her way out of it?

Heather Halliwell
Umm... Yeah, there's no way even Hallie will be able to get past that argument against her. Go with that.

Holly Halliwell
You have no idea what is going on, do you?

Heather Halliwell
Um... Do you want me to be honest?

Chloe O'Brien
It's alright, Miss Halliwell. The heat can make your mind wander. We were just discussing the attempted kidnapping. We have an idea of proving that it was indeed her, and not her accomplace, but we'd need to find a solid foundation of proof. If thats the case, we would need to go to her friend and somehow get it out of her that she WAS indeed on Hallie's plans, but refused to act them out at last minute. If we could get a full testimonial from her, the case would be in the bag with that.

Heather Halliwell
That's clever, but how would we convince Angelica to testify against Hallie? Those two have, I've never seen a pair of friends like them. They'll trash each others reps behind each others backs, but they are such an elite force when working together, it makes them closer than sisters.

William Nicholson
There are ways to persuade Miss Steele to testify against Hallie. Leave that to me and Chloe. Shall we discuss the next bit of business?

** And with that, William's strong, but boring monotone voice rumble on about the money that Hallie stole from Heather and Holly. Heather spun her pen in between her fingers mindlessly, not paying attention once again to what William was going on about. Holly was leaning forward, her head in her knuckles, a rapt expression on her pretty face. Heather smirked, knowing that as hard as Holly was trying to pay attention, she too was lost in her daydreams. Even Chloe was ignoring William, observing the Halliwell sisters with a look of slight admiration on her face. Heather looked over at Holly, understanding why Chloe would be admiring her. Her sister, once a fast rising ballet sensation, was petite, well built, and extremely beautiful. Her honey blonde hair, big turquoise eyes, rosebud full lips, and rosey pale complexion made for one of the most angelic beauties Texas had to offer. But motherhood caused her to cut her dreams short. She had fallen in love with a handsome dancer named Pierre Marquet, and the two had planned to be married. But when Pierre found out that Holly was pregnant, he ran off with Hallie, and hasn't been seen since. That was the incident being discussed now. **

William Nicholson
Pierre wouldn't be our most reliable source, but there are ways to trick him into telling the truth. If you look at it point blank, Hallie will have already called him to testify for her. Would you want to counter-exam his testimonial once Hallie's lawyers are done?

Holly Halliwell
Of course I do. If we were engaged at the time of my pregnancy, and the time he ran off, will that slap any extra charges on Hallie?

William Nicholson
No. You weren't married yet, so he was free to leave you. Even had you two been married, adultery is not a law-breaking offense. That would be something you'd have had to hash out outside the courts. However, there is a possibility that Mr. Marquet assisted your sister in stealing the money.

Holly Halliwell
Alright... How do we prove that Pierre helped, though.. Coaxing Angelica to speak against Hallie will prove a lot easier compared to Pierre.

** Once again, Heather loses touch with the conversation. She looks down at the blank paper in front of her. She was supposed to be taking notes, so she could make a clear testimonial for the trial. Instead, she started doodling little hearts, stars, and circles all over the paper. Soon, she was drawing over the same circle over and over. Without thinking what she was doing, she slowly removed her fingers from the pen. Instead of falling as a normal pen would do, it continued to spin in the circular motion she had started, darkening the circle on her paper. Concentrating on it with focuses turquoise eyes, she willed it to continue spinning. This continued for about thirty seconds before a gasp, and a particular hard poke in the ribs from Holly broke her concentration. The pen dropped to the floor as Heather looked up startled. William looked confused, but Chloe was staring at Heather with a sort of fascinated fear. Her hazel eyes were wide, her mouth was open slightly. Heather looked angelically over at Holly, who looked absolutely furious. William, who obviously hadn't seen what Holly and Chloe had, cleared his throat. **

William Nicholson
Is everything alright between you girls?

Chloe O'Brien
Yes, everything is fine William. Just the heat getting to us. Shall we continue?

William Nicholson
No, I think we've discussed enough today. I can trust that I will see you girls next Monday, 10 am?

Holly Halliwell
Of course, Mr. Nicholson. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to have a talk with my sister.

** Heather tries to throw a charming smile at the two lawyers, but Holly yanks her out the door. Heather's smile melts off her face when she sees how annoyed Holly is. Even though Heather is the older sister, Holly always had a power over Heather that made her feel like a small child. Now was no exception. Holly wasted no time lighting into Heather in a furious whisper. **

Holly Halliwell
What the hell were you thinking in there? I don't care how bored you get, that was completely reckless!

Heather Halliwell
Oh come on! I didn't hurt anybody. Besides, Chloe looked more interested than scared.

Holly Halliwell
Daddy would have a fit if he knew you were using your powers for no reason.

Heather Halliwell
Eh, what he doesn't know won't hurt him. I hardly do that, I don't know what got into me in there.

Holly Halliwell
Don't blame the heat! We've been through worse heat than this.

Heather Halliwell
I wasn't gonna blame the heat. I was thinking more along the lines of boredom. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for William's boring voice. He reminds me of Mr. Kaye.

Holly Halliwell
Heather... This stuff is important, you've gotta try harder to pay attention...

** Even as she said this, however, Holly couldn't help but grin. She let out a reluctant chuckle and shook her head. At that precise moment, Chloe O'Brien stepped out into the hall to join them. She looked between Heather and Holly with curious hazel eyes, studying them as if their looks would give her all the answers. Then she smiles and pulls a packet of cigarettes out of her purse. **

Chloe O'Brien
I was about to have a cigarette... Would you ladies like to join me? Even if you don't smoke, would you come talk with me? I hate smoking alone.

** Heather and Holly look at each other, then shrug and follow Chloe down the stairs. Outside, there is an old fashioned smokers circle set up in the back of the building. Chloe takes a seat and pulls out a cigarette. She offers them to Heather and Holly, who both shake their heads. Shrugging, Chloe puts her cigarettes away and pulls out her lighter. After lighting up, she starts to put her lighter away, and drops it. She cries out, and out of instinct, Heather holds out a hand and stops the lighter from hitting the ground. Chloe's eyes widen as she watches the lighter travel back into her purse, guided by the invisible string between it and Heather's hand. Holly looks infuriated, but Chloe's shocked expression calms and she smiles. **

Chloe O'Brien
I knew I wasn't imagining anything in there. So you really are telekinetic?

Heather Halliwell
Yes, I am. It's not something I should be showing off, I don't know why I am today. I just feel like some unseen force is telling me I can trust you with my secret.

Chloe O'Brien
I felt that same force. That's why I don't think I'll be breaking any laws if I show you this.

** Chloe turns away from Heather and Holly. The girls look over Chloe's shoulders to see what she is looking at. In front of her is a bed of flowers, tigers lillies, mixed with roses. Chloe concentrates on the flower bed for a moment, then turns back towards the girls. She closes her eyes and sets her face in a look of determined focus. A moment later, the roses from the flower bed fall in between them all. Holly and Heather look up. Holly gasps, but Heather has a broad grin and starts applauding. **

Heather Halliwell
Well done, Chloe! I knew there was something different about you, I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Chloe O'Brien
Thanks. I discovered I had something different about myself when I was around 7 years of age. My mom and I noticed that I could do things the other kids couldn't.

Heather Halliwell
That's the same with me and my Dad. The difference there is, he knew it was going to happen. His Grandmother had the gift, so he knew one of his daughters would recieve it as well.

Holly Halliwell
He said he figured it would be the middle child. Great Nana was the middle child as well, and she was the only of her siblings to recieve it. According to Daddy, it's been in the family since the Dark Ages.

Chloe O'Brien
I wish I knew where mine came from. I'm the first in my family to ever recieve such a wierd talent, and they make no secret of it. At family reunions and gatherings, it's always "Do the trick, Chloe. Show them what you can do." I hate it, and I have never met anyone who could do the same thing or something similar.

Heather Halliwell
Until now. Why don't you meet me and Holly for dinner tonight? I'd love to chat with you more about this.

Chloe O'Brien
Are you sure? I mean, that would be absolutely wonderful, it's just that... .

Holly Halliwell
What, Chloe?

Chloe O'Brien
Nothing, really. In fact, it's rather silly. I have just never met anybody, especially two beautiful sisters, who were willing to open up so quickly to me and accept me for who I am. I never really had any friends growing up, which is how I became studious enough to become a lawyer.

Heather Halliwell
That's the funny thing about us Halliwell's. You either get the worst of us, or you get the best of us. You lucked out.

Chloe O'Brien
I'll remember that. What time should I meet you girls for dinner?

Heather Halliwell
A safe bet would be... 8?

Holly Halliwell
8 it good, I can have dinner done by then.

Chloe O'Brien
8 it is! Thank you so much for this... Oh!

** Chloe pales slightly, and her happy demeanor evaporates quickly. Holly and Heather don't understand why. Chloe stares off into space for a minute, thinking hard on something. Then her face clears up a little and she smiles. **

Chloe O'Brien
Would you mind keeping this on the downlow from William? He's absolutely anal about anything starting between clients and partners. He says wait until after the case if you want to pursue something.

Holly Halliwell
Not to worry, dear. You're secret is safe with us.

** Chloe flashes the sisters with a lovely smile and hurries back into the building. Holly and Heather wave to her before getting up and heading to their jeep. Heather smiles at Holly, indicating that things in the next few weeks were going to prove very interesting. **
