~I stood in the airport terminal, waiting for them to announce my flight. I had gotten the message from Steve telling me where to go and that it was alright for me to stay. Just to be sure, I call my voicemail and listen to the message again. Hearing his powerful voice over the phone sent waves of warmth through me. I missed him dearly, and it was going to be great to spend the rest of the week with him. I suddenly felt guilty about these thoughts, thinking about Sean. Sighing, I called his phone again, but for the fifth time, got his answering machine. I didn't bother to leave a message this time, but hung up the phone bitterly. I was hoping to talk to him before I left, to see if maybe he could give me a good reason to stay and not go see Steve. However, it seemed as though my friend had more important matters on his plate and couldn't pick up a phone. I flipped my phone shut, and no sooner had I done that, than my phone rang. It was my sister.~

Heather Halliwell
I was wondering when I'd be hearing from you. So, how do you plan on talking me out of this one, sis?

Holly Halliwell
Very funny, Heather. Actually, I called to tell you that I fully support this fuzz ball scheme of yours. You and SJ were a right fit from the start, I'm glad you're starting to realize that again.

Heather Halliwell
Wait a minute, little sis. I'm not going to see Steve to get back with him. I'm going to stay with him for a few days to clear my head about some things.

Holly Halliwell
Okay... So, your main goal isn't to get back together with him. But is there anywhere you can fit that in on the agenda?

Heather Halliwell
Can we change the subject please?

Holly Halliwell
I knew it! You do care about him still! Just admit it Heather. The reason you chose him to get away from Sean is because deep down, it was him you came back to the XWF for.

Heather Halliwell
Holly, now is not the time nor place to be discussing what I came back to XWF for. I have too much on my mind for silly love issues right now.

Holly Halliwell
LOVE issues? Oh my god, you're still in love with Steve Jason! Haaa, happy dance on this end!

Heather Halliwell
Holly, god damnit, will you focus? Didn't Heff or anyone else tell you why I'm going to see Steve?

Holly Halliwell
So you could go pour your heart out to Steve about your feelings?

Heather Halliwell
I wish it was that simple. Holly, I have a match against a ghost this week on Assault...

Holly Halliwell
A ghost? What the hell are you talking about, a ghost?

Heather Halliwell
Apparently, I have a match against Destiny this Saturday...

~There is silence on the other line. Holly's breathing grows a little heavier. Destiny had affected her life just as much as she had affected mine. I can hear my sister sitting down, swallowing back her apprehension.~

Holly Halliwell
How can you be facing her? She's dead...

Heather Halliwell
Thats what I would like to find out. All I know is that when I heard, I had to get away from Sean. I had to get away from anyone or anything that would remind me of Destiny. Thats why I am going to see Steve, Holly. I know that I can be safe with him. I always felt safest when I was with him.

Holly Halliwell
That's because you loooooove him. Well, you have fun, and um... While you are there, can you do me a little favor...

~I smirked as my sisters voice trailed off. I could almost see her blushing on the other line. I knew what that little favor of hers was going to be.~

Heather Halliwell
No problem, little sister. I'd be more than happy to tell Dougy you said hi.

Holly Halliwell
You are a doll. Speaking of dolls, I've got a little someone here who wants to speak with you...

~My heart swells as the voice of my year and a half old niece takes over the phone. Her words are barely to be understood, but I know what she is saying.~

Tegan Marquet-Halliwell
Aunt Tas... Win er yoo comin home, Aunt Tas?

Heather Halliwell
Soon, baby, soon. I promise to come see my Tegan Bear, but Aunt Taz has some business she needs to take care of.

Tegan Marquet-Halliwell
I luv yoo, Aunt Tas.

Heather Halliwell
I love you too, Tegan. I promise, you have a million hugs and kisses waiting for you when I get there. Can you please put Mommy back on the phone?

Holly Halliwell
It's me, Aunt Tas. I gotta put this little monster to sleep. Call me when you land, okay?

Heather Halliwell
Alright. I love you sis, give Tegan a big hug and kiss for me.

Holly Halliwell
I will, but she misses you. And so do I. You have to come home soon, even if its just for a visit.

Heather Halliwell
I promise I will, first chance I get. I'll call you as soon as the plane touches the ground. Bye.

~I hang up the phone, feeling myself getting a bit choked up. Holly always knew how to get me to get the urge to come home. I open up my wallet and look at the picture of my niece... My little Tegan. She truly was a beautiful little girl. She had her fathers gleaming black hair, curly like her mothers. She had the pale, rose petal skin of her father, and the rosebud colored lips. But the eyes were those of the Halliwell clan. Yes, she was a beauty. I tenderly put her picture away as my flight is announced. Sighing, I get up and head to the gate.~

~*~ 3 Hours Later ~*~

~Stepping off the plane, through the gate, and into into the terminal, I reminded myself why I hated airplanes so much. I didn't care about heights, and hey, if we crash, oh well. But the attendents are always so bitchy, and the peanut bags aren't nearly big enough. Note to self, never try to steal the peanuts of your neighbor. He's never sleeping, always watching. Shaking my head of this thought, I looked around for the guy named Formico that Steve told me to find. A man with plantinum blonde hair, flamboyantly dressed. Shouldn't be very hard to find. Just as I had this thought, I found my man. He seemed to catch my stare, because he began walking towards me quickly.~

Formico
Heather Halliwell, I'm guessing?

Heather Halliwell
Yeah, that's me. I guess that makes you For-

Formico
Rule one, Miss Halliwell, is that my name must never be spoken. Have you got your bags?

Heather Halliwell
Rule one is that my name isn't Miss Halliwell, it's Heather. And no, I haven't got my bags, I have to go check the luggage belt. Care to come with?

Formico
I suppose I'll have to if I'm to get you where Mr. Jason wants me to take you.

~I couldn't help but throw this guy a look. Steve was right, this guy was a whacko. But he obviously had a good heart. He followed me to the luggage belt, and as if on cue, my suitcases came around. I grabbed them, as I had only packed two, and turned to Formico.~

Heather Halliwell
Alrighty then. Lead on, Peppy.

Formico
What did you just call me?

Heather Halliwell
Well, if I can't call ya by your real name, then I gotta call you something. Besides, I just saw this movie the other day with this hilarious character named Peppy. You remind me of him, so thats what I'm going to call you.

Formico
If you say so, Miss Heather. This way then, the faster I get you to Mr. Jason, the faster I get my promotion.

Heather Halliwell
You get a promotion just for coming here to get me?

Formico
It's quite simple, really. Mr. Jason is so eager to see you because of his deep passion for you, and I out of the goodness of my heart agreed to come get you. He was so happy that he gave me a promotion in his night club.

Heather Halliwell
That was good of you, Peppy. Well, drive away then.

~If Peppy talked, I barely paid attention to him. His words about Steve had completely thrown me off track. Deep passion? What did he mean by that? Was it possible that after all this time, even after I left without so much as a phone call, that Steve Jason still cared abouto me? The very thought sent chills of delight down my spine. Maybe Holly wasn't far off on the idea of something happening. Then again, I had to keep reality as a strong factor. I still wasn't sure what me and Sean were, if we were anything. Thinking of Sean made me bitter that he still hadn't called. Remembering I had promised to call my sister, I got out my cell phone and dialed, hoping I would have service. I did.~

Holly Halliwell
So have you seen your boo cakes yet?

Heather Halliwell
Very funny sis. I only just got out of the airport. Steve's dean of design from the nightclub, Peppy, came and got me, and we're headed to the Pacific Club Paramount.

Holly Halliwell
Sounds hot. Makes me wish I didn't have daughter duties, or you know I would be on the next flight to join you. But I can't really complain, at least I got lucky and gave birth to a good kid.

Heather Halliwell
Yes, she's our little angel. And honestly, I don't know how much fun I'll be having. I still have a lot to deal with, and seeing Steve isn't exactly going to be easy. I mean, that little run-in at his party... I had Sean with me, so I never got a chance to talk to him alone. Now I'm going to have all the time in the world.

Holly Halliwell
You're always so cute when you're nervous. Well, remember: when you see Steve, make sure you look stunning, don't stutter, and don't let out word vomit. Those are the worst sins you could commit.

Heather Halliwell
I have more to tell you, but Peppy doesn't seem like the type of guy who would want to hear about it.

Holly Halliwell
Peppy? Thats his actual name?

Heather Halliwell
No, but his name must never be spoken. So I just call him Peppy and call it even.

Holly Halliwell
Only you, Heather, only you...

Heather Halliwell
Alright, well I'm gonna let you go. I can hear that you were sleeping, so go back to it.

Holly Halliwell
Alright Heather. Good luck, I love you, Tegan loves you, and call when you have news.

Heather Halliwell
Love you too, Holly. I will, don't worry. Bye.

~As I hung up the phone with my sister, I turned up the radio. Peppy gave me a funny look, but I ignored him. I played with the dials, looking for a clear station, or a station with a good song. I turned it onto a local mixed station, and one of my favorite songs, "Only One" by Yellowcard, was playing from the end of the first verse going into the chorus. I cranked the volume, ignoring Peppy's wince. I sang merrily along.~

Heather Halliwell
Here I goooooo..... Scream my lungs out, and try to get to youuuuuu.... You are my only one.... I let gooooo.... But there's just no one who gets me like you doooo.... You are my ooonly, my only oneeeee.... Come on, sing it with me, Peppy.

Formico
I am afraid I am unfamilar to this song, Miss Heather. Can we please not have the radio so loud, as we are in a confined space?

Heather Halliwell
Aw, come on Peppy! This is my jam! Besides, you work in a night club. This sort of noise, you should be used to by now.

Formico
Now I see how you and Mr. Jason get along so well.

~I could only smirk and kept on singing happily. For some reason, as we got closer to the Paramount, and to Steve, I grew happier, and happier. I felt as if a huge weight was being lifted from my chest and shoulders, even if it was only temporary. Finally, the sign that advertised the club came into view, and I found myself bouncing in my seat. Peppy pulled into a VIP parking area and waited for me to get out of the car. He popped the trunk, and made to grab my suitcases, but Peppy beat me to it.~

Formico
I've got it, Miss Heather. Shall I take you to see Mr. Jason now, or shall I have him come to you in the pent house suite?

Heather Halliwell
Woah, I'm staying in the pent house?

Formico
Yes, with Mr. Jason and Mr. McNamara. If you remember Mr. McNamara, then you will be able to excuse the mess that it currently is.

~I bit my lip to hold back and laugh and nodded. I had half a mind to tell Peppy to forget the bags for now and to just take me to Steve. The sun was setting low, and people were starting to show up at the club, women primped up and dressed to kill. I looked down at myself in my own baggy pants and old t-shirt and looked back up at Peppy. Him and I seemed to be sharing a brainwave.~

Heather Halliwell
Would it be too much to ask to go up to the room now and take a quick shower and change?

Formico
Not at all, Miss Heather. In fact, I figured you would ask me. So if you would follow me, please.

~I followed Peppy through the club, and up the stairs. He stopped in front of a door and whipped out a key. He handed it to me and bowed his way away.~

Formico
You take all the time you need, Miss Heather. I shall go inform Mr. Jason that you are here. Come down when you are ready.

Heather Halliwell
Thanks Peppy, you're a sport.

~I saluted my new friend and opened the door. I didn't bother to look around, as I was busy with my suitcases. Once I had them rolled in, I looked up and around, and felt my breath catch in my throat. I'm from the South, so my tastes are very simple. This was beyond anything my redneck ass could ever comprehend. I looked around at the lavish furnishings and such. I smirked, seeing the mess that Peppy had warned me about. The mess was the only thing that made me comfortable in this otherwise perfect room. I walked inside a moment, touching everything along the way. I saw myself in the mirror, and saw what a mess I was. Shaking my head, I went back to my bags and quickly looked for the bathroom. When I saw it, I stopped breathing again. That bathroom was bigger than my room back home! I shook off my awe and took out my lavender shampoo and body wash. I set my perfume, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, and other girly things neatly on the counter. I rummaged my bags for something to wear. I hate the problem of too many clothes, and nothing to wear. Finally, I decided on a pair of casual white jeans and a ice blue blouse. I turned towards the shower and started it. Getting in, feeling the hot water run down my body made me moan. I shampooed and conditioned my hair, and ran my srub over my body, taking in the scent of the lavender.I suddenly remembered where I was and why I was there and turned the shower off. I wrapped a big white towel around myself and rubbed some steam and water off the mirror. I had just finished drying my hair, and was pulling it back in a braid when my phone started ringing. I looked to see who it was. Sean. I smiled, let my braid go, and answered eagerly.~

Heather Halliwell
Hey stranger, I was starting to think you weren't going to call.

Sean Graves
Sorry, I had a lot on my mind as well. I thought I may as well call real quick to see how your flight went and how you are doing.

Heather Halliwell
Your concern is so touching. My flight went well, and I'm alright. I just got out of the shower, so I feel somewhat better.

Sean Graves
That's good. When do you think you are coming ho... Er, back?

Heather Halliwell
Um, I really hadn't given it some thought. I don't really know how long I had truly planned to stay with Steve, considering I did this on a whim. I'm surprised he even agreed to let me stay. Why, is somethi....

~A females giggle stopped me in mid-sentence. It was a drunken giggle, and it made my blood run cold. Sean was with another woman. I had a bad feeling I knew who it was, but I asked anyway.~

Heather Halliwell
Sean... Who is that with you're with?

Sean Graves
It's Lilly. She's a little drunk and needed someone to come get her. So she called me and I didn't see why not, seeing you are gone and all.

Heather Halliwell
I see... Well, that was good of you to do for her.

~Sean merely grunted his answer. I could feel fury and jealousy sweep through me at the thought of Lilly being alone with Sean. I was about to shrug it off as nothing, when Lilly's voice piped up on the other side. She was still giggling, and sounded rather breathless.~

Tyger Lilly
I like you're hand there, Sean. If you want to go a little higher, be my guest.

~I had heard enough. I barely said bye as I hung up with Sean. As I had expected, he called me back. I hit the ignore number, and tossed my phone aside. I could feel anger sweeping through me as I stared at myself in the mirror. I took my braid out and stared at my hair. I looked back at the outfit I had chosen to wear downstairs in the club to see Steve. It suddenly looked too much like something a grandma would wear to a family reunion picnic. I tossed it back in my suitcase and rummaged through it again. I pulled out a hip hugging black mini-skirt. Nodding to myself, I tossed it over my shoulder. I looked again, and found a daring, flame red halter. It tied in the back, and showed just enough cleavage and belly to leave the guys panting. I pulled out a pair of strappy high heels that added about two inches to my petit frame. I quickly tossed the old outfit back into my suitcase and changed into the new one. I stared at myself in the mirror, not believing I was actually dressed this daringly. I never showed off my legs, but they looked lethal in my skirt. I was always proud of my upper body, however. I was born a true Southern woman, swelled hips, small waist, and the right amount on top. Smiling at myself, I crimped my hair, so that it fell softly around my shoulders and down my back. I went easy on my make-up, going easy on my eyes, but adding a daring red to my lips. Last but not least, I spritzed on a little of my signature perfurme, Aromatherapy's Sleep Therapy (hey, its the best). I looked killer, and I knew it. With one more look in the mirror, I blew a kiss to my reflection, grabbed my room key, and turned to go. Right as I reached the door, their was a knock. I answered, and saw Peppy standing on the other side.~

Formico
Ah, well. Mr. Jason asked me to come up here and see if you were almost ready, but I can see that you are.

Heather Halliwell
Yup, I was just on my way down. Do you know where he is?

Formico
He is at the bar with Mr. Williams, Miss Eve, and Mr. McNamara. Its right by the stairs, you can't miss it.

~Once again, I saluted Peppy, then made my way slowly down the stairs.I stopped at the wall that kept me from view of the bar. I held my breath for a second, mentally preparing myself to see Steve, especially looking the way I did. Finally, I held my head up and walked down the last few stairs. I looked around and there he was, leaning casually against the bar, talking to Eve, Jem, and Dougy. My breath caught as I stared at him. His dark hair was perfect like always, his eyes shining, a smile on his handsome face. He must have felt me staring, because he looked up in my direction. I didn't miss the flicker of surprise that briefly shadowed his eyes. But it was gone in a second, replaced by a look of admiration that undoubtedly mirrored my own. Jem, Eve, and Dougy all realized they had lost Steve's attention and looked up in my direction as well. But I didn't notice, as my eyes were locked on Steve's. I finally felt the power in my legs to walk the rest of the way down the stairs and up to Steve and his friends. My eyes never left his, even as I went up to the bar to greet everyone.~

Heather Halliwell
Hey Steve, how are ya?

Steve Jason
I... Not bad, you?

~I could hear in his voice that he was just as nervous and happy to see me as I was him. It filled me with more confidence. I straightened myself up and smiled up at him charmingly. I finally tore my eyes off him for a moment to address the rest of the people surrounding us.~

Heather Halliwell
Dougy, good to see you, like always. Great job making a mess in the room. Jem, Eve... Nice to see you guys too.

~There, I said my hellos to everyone. If they responded, I didnt hear them. I looked back to Steve, smiling up at him. He was smiling at me too, now. Finally, I threw all resistence out the window and threw myself into his arms. I could tell it surprised him at first, but I felt his arms wrap themselves around my lower back and hold me tight. I sighed, feeling right, and not guilty at all about Sean. I looked up into his handsome face and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Once again, Steve was thrown off guard.~

Steve Jason
What was that for?

Heather Halliwell
For being such a wonderful friend when I needed one the most. For letting me stay with you when I needed a place to stay. For... Everything, I guess. Steve, I've missed you!

~Steve just stared down at me. I realized I had said too much and let my feelings show. The word vomit my sister had warned me about had just started. There was no going back now. Another song started, slower than the ones I had heard previously. I pulled out of our hug and took Steve by the hand and stared up at him, smiling softly, almost shyly in my typical Southern attitude.~

Heather Halliwell
Come dance with me, Steve .

~Steve didn't need much begging as I led him to the dance floor. Jem and Eve followed, but kept their distance. Steve and I chose a quiet little corner where there weren't many people. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders tightly and pressed myself against him. His arms went around my waist, his hands resting on my lower back again, holding my tightly once more. As we moved in slow circles on the floor, I rested my head on his strong chest and closed my eyes. This felt so right... I knew that at that place in time, being in Steve Jason's arms is exactly where I belonged.~
