The Town Too Tough to Die

(Debut match, Donovan found himself in a world of hurt, but instead of taking it as a blow to his ego, he sucked it up. He knows that Judith may have his day in the sun for now..but come hell or high water..Judith is his. We find Donovan relaxing before his big match against Mike Mendez, hes with his woman Rebecca at their Arizona home not really able to get any sleep. Donovan, whos known as Jory Johnson outside the ring to his more closer peeps, begins thinking aloud to himself.)

Jory: *Staring at the ceiling* How is it I'm in this position?

(Jory looks at Becca who seems to be resting comfortably at the moment. He kisses her forehead and brushes back her hair a little with a small smile on his face.)

Jory: Why is it that fate has brought to me a woman that brings out the best in me and makes me feel like no other? How is it she can put up with a man like me? She must have a lot of patience..or just find me incredibly sexy.

(Jory shares a chuckle with himself and looks to his window to see the sun rising over the mountains revealing a breath taking view of the sky. Becca rolls over to her side of the bed allowing him to slowly get out and stretch his body. Jory carefully walks out of the room as not to disturb Bec's sleep and heads downstairs for a little morning tv. He plops down on his comfy couch and turns on the tube. Jory paseses up a few good shows like "Dr. Suess "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "Life as a House", and "Dont be a Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood". Finally Jory comes across an HBO showing of "Tombstone" starring Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer. Jory is a big fan of the movie and the character Val plays; John "Doc" Holliday, so he puts down the remote and watches the movie.)

Johnny Ringo: *In a stand off position* I want your blood...and I want your soul.. and I want them both right now.

Wyatt: *Opens up his jacket* I'm not gonna fight you Ringo. There's no money in it.

Doc: *Walks off the porch of a barber shop* I'm your huckleberry.

Johnny Ringo: *Looks at Doc*..Alright Lunger.

Doc: *Steps forward ready to fight* Say when!

Becca: ...NOW!

(Before Jory can react, Becca jumps on his lap and plants a soft, sensual kiss on his lips that sends chills down his spine. Jory wraps his arms around her soft body and goes right on ahead with kissing her. She smiles at him and puts her forehead against his.)

Becca: Hey you, you left your music on.

Jory: Sorry babe, forgot it was on.

Becca: *Kiss* It's ok, I kinda liked it.

Jory: Did it wake you up?

Becca: No...*looks a little confused*..come to think of it..I dont remember what woke me up.

Jory: Maybe you just wanted to..wake up?

Becca: Hmm, possibly. *shrugs* oh well.

(Bec gets up and does a teasing dance in front of Jory as she heads towards the kitchen looking for something to eat. Jory knows she's just trying to get him "awake" so he turns his head back to Tombstone and watches it some more.)

Jory: Ready to go to Tombstone today hun?

Becca: Tombstone..why we going to Tombstone?

Jory: Remember? We planned on going there as soon as the play was over?

Becca: Oh yea *laughs* sorry hun, I'll go get ready now.

(Jory gets up and follows Bec into their bedroom leaving the tv on just like he did with the music. Then again it is really early in the morning he has a tendancy to forget things. Jory is already packed and ready to go so he just whips out some of his traveling clothes and puts those on as Becca packs her stuff. As Bec finishes up Jory begins to load their stuff into their red Montana mini-van (used mainly for road trips like this), and brings out some cds to jam to and some munchies to chow down on. As Jory is driving the first part, he gets dibs on first cd and puts in a mix cd of goth rock/tecno and heavy metal..what a combo. Bec sucks it up since there's some goth in it and plops down in her seat with a big comfy pillow. Knowing it can be a long trip, she decided to bring a pillow along just in case she got a little sleepy. Jory starts up the van and looks at Bec as she gets comfy and gets an excited smile on his chipper face.)

Jory: Here we go babay!

Becca: *laughs* Crazy fick, just drive.

Jory: Hahaha, and we're off...*mumbles to himself*..let's hope this one doesn't turn out like our last few vacations.

(Jory slowly backs the van out of their driveway then speeds off down the road ready for what should be quite the adventure in sunny Tombstone,Arizona. They both are history fanatics and Jory figured since this place is full of history, it'd be the perfect place to go, this place isnt just the perfect place for historians...but this place is full of something else..something a little darker..a little creepier..the perfect place..for a paranormal nut as well.)

***The Legend of Tombstone***

(Many of you have probably heard of the pizza known as "Tombstone", or know the word as another way of describing a dead persons headstone, but Tombstone is also the name of an old western town founded in the mid 1800's as a small mining community. As word got around that the town was chock full of silver and copper, people moved from the east and the north to settled in Tombstone. This forced the town to expand quickly. Eventually gambling and prostitution found its way to Tombstone, and suddenly, not only was it now a mining town but a full fledged community thriving like that of San Francisco. But, like with everything, you always have to accept the good with the bad. The bad came in the form of rambunctious gang that, like any old western town, made it hard to go out in public, particularly at night if they were in a fighting mood. One day the fate of Tombstone changed when 3 brothers moved into town. They were the Earp brothers- Virgil, Morgan, and Wyatt. They met an old friend of theirs in Tombstone, a man named John 'Doc' Holliday. These 4, along with their lovely ladies came into Tombstone expecting to live quiet and peaceful lives and make it rich. That all changed when they got on the bad side of The Cowboys, a nasty group of guys who could be identified as Cowboys by the red sashes they wore. After an incident at a gambling table where Cowboy Ike Clanton accused Doc Holliday of cheating where Clanton threatened Doc and then the Earps for interfering, the Earps and Holliday felt it was time to stick up for themselves and disarm The Cowboys of their weapons. After all, with Virgil and Morgan being town marshalls, they had to uphold the law. The law of Tombstone said no one could carry a gun within city limits. The Earps and Holliday met the Cowboys at the O.K. Corral and asked them to give up their weapons. Instead of giving them up, the Cowbays drew their pistols. The Earps pulled theirs, and Doc, a rifle. There was a long stand off... and then began one of the most famous ginfights in history. In the end, three Cowboys lay dead. Morgan and Virgil were both injured, though not seriously. A bullet supposedly grazed Doc's hip. This fight angered the Cowboys greatly and decided it was time to get revenge, but we'll tell the rest of that story later. In the end Tombstone nearly became a forgotten ghost town after the silver was flooded away. But, due to the overwhelming demand of western movies, the town was saved by tourism and now stands today as one of the biggest tourist spots in America. But, the town isn't just known for its old western bad boy days or its great supply of silver and copper, it's also known for its share of ghosts. It is said that if you walk down Allen Street, the main street of Tombstone, at about 3-4 am you'll experience moments from the past and see things that have been long forgotten in time. Not only that but there are countless numbers of haunted houses/buildings in the area, with ghosts ranging from heart broken women to possibly even good ol' Doc Holliday himself. This place will surely not disapoint you if you're a paranormal nut.)

***It's quiet at first..or is it?***

(It's dark outside now, and Becca has taken control of the wheel as Jory finds himself trying to get comfy in the passanger seat. Becca pops in one of her favorite cds (the "Newsies" soundtrack), and starts singing along to "King of New York". The song is all right but it's Bec's voice that pulls a calmness over Jory that makes it easier for him to catch a few z's before they hit the "Town too Tough to Die." Jory slowly drifts to sleep with Becca's voice echoing in his mind. As he sleeps, visions of what once was seep into his mind, giving him a glimpse of the past and of what's to come in the future.)

***Revenge on Virgil***

(It's a dark, thundering night in Tombstone. People are bundled up in their small tents or homes under their covers with candles and whatever else gives off heat close by. On this night the Earp brothers are at the Oriental, enjoying some chinese food and a few round of beers. Virgil paces around the room watching the thunder and lightning while Wyatt and Morgan play a game of cards and finish off their food.)

Virgil: Its late, I'm heading off to bed.

Wyatt: Bundle up out there Virg, it's getting cold.

Virgil: Will do, goodnight.

(Virgil takes off into the night as Wyatt and Morgan hang back, too focused on their card game to go home just yet. Virgil steps out into the windy night and takes a deep breath. This is one of the better things about living in the desert, the way the air smells during one of Arizona's infamous thunderstorms. Virgil steps off the wooden sidewalk and onto the desert street, heading on to his place to be in the arms of his loving woman. A passer-by on a horse & buggy greets him and continues on, Virgil just tips his hat and continues walking.)

Virgil: What a gorgeous night.

(As he continues to walk he doesn't realize that in the darkness, covered by the howling sounds of the wind and the crashing boom of thunder, a few Cowboys wait, ready to strike him down. They keep their distance respectively, knowing he's one of the fastest guns in Tombstone. They don't want to find themselves being the victim. As the lightning begisn to strike it drowns out the sound in the area giving the Cowboys the perfect chance to strike, its time for a showdown.)

(Meanwhile, back at the Oriental, Wyatt & Morgan's card game is heating up and they have decided to give their dog the remainder of their food. Wyatt notices he's run out of beer and pauses the card game to refill his glass. He gets up off his chair and walks over to the tap and pours himself another glass. As he finishes, the door opens up and from around the corner walks in Virgil.)

Wyatt: *Grabs his beer and heads back to his seat* Hey Virg, what'd you forget?

(Wyatt sits back down and takes a sip of his beer as Virgil drags himself along the bar. He stops and turns his body revealing a bloody left arm.)

Virgil: *In Pain*.....Wyatt.

(Wyatt and Morgan watch Virgil as he crumbles to the ground. The two brothers spring to their feet and quickly run over to Virgil to help him out. They pick him up qickly and take him as fast as they can to the doctor. The doctor takes them in, regardless of the fact he's exhausted, and preps Virgil up for surgery while Morgan runs off and tells the women what happened. Wyatt stays by Virgil's side and holds his hand while the doctor operates. Back then they didn't have any anaesthetic, so Virgil was in an incredible ammount of pain and holding on for dear life.)

Wyatt: Virgil, what happened!?

Virgil: *Crying out in pain* I dont know, Wyatt! Go away...! Argh..

(Just then Morgan and the women burst thru the door. Virgil's wife runs crying and screaming to his side and gives him a big hug and kiss. Wyatt steps aside and walks over to Morgan who's looking on in disbelief.)

Morgan: Don't you see whats happening here?

Wyatt: Yea, we need to get out of here.

Morgan: Get out of here? Will you listen to yourself!?

(Before the two brothers can hash out the details the doctor cuts in after having worked on Virgil's arm for a bit.)

Doctor: I'm sorry, but I'm afraid you'll lose the use of your left arm.

(Shock hits the room like a thunderbolt and Virgil's wife collapses into his chest and balls her eyes out.)

Virgil: *Sits up still in pain and wraps his right arm around her* Don't worry, Allie... I still got one good arm to hold you with.

(Wyatt can't believe what hes seeing, his oldest brother has been shot and now has lost the use of his left arm, what else could go wrong? Before Jory can find out he is awakened by a loud singing coming out of the radio. He jumps up a little, his eyes are barely open with little crustys in them and he looks over at Becca a little surprised.)

Jory: What the hell was that?

Becca: What was what hun? *Looks confused*.

Jory: That loud singing. What was that?

Becca: Oh, sorry, it's on my cd. It's a guy from California who sings in Italian and he's wicked good!

Jory: *A little annoyed that he's been woken up* Glad you enjoy him.

Becca: Sorry. Hey, don't go back to sleep babe, we're here.

(Jory looks up from his seat and watches the sun setting on the town of Tombstone. It's breath taking, the sun in the desert makes it worth all the heat. Like Tom Hanks says in Forrest Gump "You can't tell where heaven stops and earth begins". Jory and Becca drive into the town and right away Jory can feel the presense of history and something unearthly enter his body, its a warm fuzzy feeling but in his spine- it's cold and tingly. They drive past the infamous Allen Street where most of the action took place and drive up to a small hotel called "Trail's End Inn". The road weary travelers slowly get out of the min-van and stretch out their travel worn bodies then proceed to head to the back fo the van and get out their luggage. As Jory unloads his stuff he takes a look around his surrounding, deep down he feels at home here, possibly its because of his love for history, but he feels very comfortable here. Jory wraps his arms around Bec and gives her a big hug and gets a big smile on his face.)

Becca: Whats up hun?

Jory: I'm feeling good about this one hun.

Becca: *Laughs and hugs him back* Me too hun, come on, lets go and check in.

(Jory grabs his stuff and follows Becca into the Inn still smiling like a kid in a candy store. As Becca checks them in Jory kicks back against a small wall and looks at all the pictures of old western figures and other relics hanging on other walls. He can feel the great joy of this swelling in his chect and he feels hes about ready to burst. Becca grabs him by his shirt and drags him, along with his and her luggage all the way to their room.)

Becca: You're a silly fick you know that?

Jory: *Smiles* I try.

(Bec stops at their door and plops in the key. The door swings open and the two lovers are greated by an old western suite suited for a king & queen. Becca and Jory rush into their room and look around in amazement.)

Becca: YAY! *jumps up and down* this is so cool!

Jory: Definately! What should we do first?

Becca: Well, it's getting late, we should probably get to bed so we can get an early start on tomorrow!

Jory: Hey, sounds good! But I have a better suggestion.

Becca: What...? *looks curious*.

(All Jory has to do is look at the bed with an evil grin on his face for Bec to get the picture.)

Becca: You naughty fick! *Laughs*

Jory: You betcha!!

(Well, Jory and Bec have made it to Tombstone and are going to have quite the experience right off the bat. So far things are looking up for Jory and Bec, but will it stay that way? or will it be another Gettysburg or Ireland? You'll just have to stay tuned.)
