Making of a Champion The road was long and hard for the wrestler's who competed for the Championship Gold, but only one could prevail. The first Pay Per View of 2004 crowned a new Champion in the SCW. In the first round of iNFERNO there were many surprising losses. Steve Thompson, a new comer to the SCW, faced off against the veteran gladiator, Wolfen. The match that followed shocked many and showed the fans that with the new blood comes power. Steve Thompson progressed to the next round only to have his hopes for the Gold dashed by another veteran, The Ringlord. Another surprising turn of events the seemingly evenly matched Phoenix and the Daring Dragoon battled in the ring - the winner continuing on in the iNFERNO and the loser quitting the SCW. Phoenix wouldn't be the only wrestler to leave the SCW after losing at iNFERNO. Ted Flink, after being rescued by his fabulous friends from the deranged Cloon, took his leave of the wrestling biz. Will he return? Only time will tell. In the second round, Mad Cloon continued his senseless destruction and annihilated the Daring Dragoon. And in a bizarre twist, Dark Ash proves to be the Daring Dragoon is disguise. He is now at a mental facility under observation. The conclusion of iNFERNO culminated in The Ringlord narrowly escaping Mad Cloon's path of insanity and pinning the monstrous Cloon for a fantastic win. Is The Ringlord up the the challenge of wearing championship gold? In yet another twist of events, another veteran of the SCW, The Talent - the former Tag Tam partner of the Ringlord - returned to challenge his one time friend at the upcoming Pay Per View. Will The Ringlord accept? We'll have to wait and see! |
RUMORS Anonymous - Dr. Holiday will run for president. - The Ringlord will buy a ring. - Wolfen VS Mad Cloon will be like Freddy VS Jason - Tons of blood!!!!
Broken Alliance After the iNFERNO burned its way to cinders The Ringlord rose out of the smoke as the new SCW World Champion. The crowd's cheers elevated the one time member of THE Alliance to new heights, but he was brought back down by his one time ally and tag team partner. Not much is known as to why the sudden change of heart in the Talent. Perhaps having once savored the Gold for himself he begrudges his friend now holding it. All that is known for sure is that THE Alliance is broken and the blood between them has turned bad. Or has it? Could this all be an elaborate ploy? Stay tuned. |
Out With the New and in With the Old Jeremy Laplante, SCW Staff
After the SCW went through its rough period late last year a lot of the SCW veteran wrestler's hung up their wrestling careers for better and brighter futures somewhere else. The SCW returned with the new year and brought along a lot of new talent with it. Do they have staying power?
No, obviously they don't. Now that the SCW is back in full force the new comers are slowly realizing that they don't have what it takes to keep up with the fast growing, fast paced SCW career. Strangely enough though, the veteran SCW wrestlers seem to be finding their way back to the flock. As they creep their way back into the roster more and more of the fresh blood are dying out. As nice as it would be to see the old blood mix with the new it seems like it isn't meant to be. Let's hope that the new talent that follows will prove me wrong. |

Sinners Beware Right before the final match of iNFERNO the much anticipated return of the Prophet was realized. He was met with uncertainty from the fans but those who were long-time viewers remembered him and remembered him well. They won over the rest of the crowd and the Prophet was greeted with cheers at the end. Who will the Prophet choose for his first victim? Rumors circulating around the SCW say he's got his sights set on The Mad Cloon, to show him his erring ways. But now that Dark Ash/Daring Dragoon has gone to the looney bin perhaps his ministries will fall on his ears instead. |
Want More Title Action? So your favorite wrestler didn't win the SCW World Title? No worries, there will be more titles to choose from in the near future. BUT...even though the roster is growing there simply isn't enough competition to warrant some of them. Such as the Tag Team Titles. They will not be coming available until the roster shows some definite Tag Team trends. Our first Tag Tem Match of 2004 is to take place at this Sunday Night Slam. Maybe it will spark up the interest levels in this type of match? You can expect the Hardcore Title to make its appearance at a Pay Per View near you along with the National Title. The demand for more titles and especially the demand for the extreme title is high. You can bet the competition for these belts will be fierce. As for the Woman's Title and the Cruiser Weight, you will have to wait. Jessica Morley being the Woman's Champion and the only female in the SCW right now makes it unnecessary for the belt to be up for grabs. She is on the injured list with no expected return date. Also her contract is coming to an end soon. Maybe the belt will be retired if she cannot fulfill her contract in time. As for the Cruiser Weight, there are just not enough light weights to make competition interesting. Watch for it when the roster reaches five under the 200 lbs range. |
