Wayne Helms
Owner and operator of Elite Wrestling. Wayne has had a life-long love of wrestling since first getting involved with the sport as a seventh grader at Beverly Hills Middle School all the way to Upper Darby High School where he was captain of the 1994 Central League Championship team. This brought the title back to Upper Darby for the first time since 1972. That same year he became a district champion. After graduation wayne was welcomed to the coaching ranks as the head of the Upper Darby Royals summer wrestling program and as an assistant coach for the Royals where he was instrumental in the development of the accomplishments listed below. After 8 successful seasons, Wayne had a strong desire to return to college to pursue a degree in secondary education. As a Delaware Valley College wrestler, Wayne was named to the 2003/2004 NCAA Academic All-American wrestling team. Wayne's philosophy is that good athletes should become great students.
