A through B

Armstrong, Nurse Caitlin. One of the five nurses stationed at Sahara Station during Operation Torch.

Ashworth, Lieutenant Commander Matthew. Head pilot of the 92nd Fighter Support Group. This group is comprised mainly of rookies with Lieutenant Ashworth being the only seasoned officer. This doesn't mean he automatically gets along with other vets though. His command style at best clashed with Ranking pilot Squad Commander Manuel, resulting in the same treatment by the other veterns.

AT. Abbreviation for Anti-Tank. Variation of shell with armor-piercing heads designed for taking out enemy armor.

Atlantic Wall. Part of the German defence of Europe from sea invasion was the massive Atlantic Wall. Comprised of kilometers of concrete bunkers and gun emplacements along the Normandy (present day Northern France) Coastline. Although this could be destroyed if small sapper squadrons came ashore with dynamite, to hinder this, iron stakes and sea mines where placed out at sea to destroy allied boats coming ashore. But these defences couldn't withstand the combined force of 300 warships with 12 carriers and over 13000 aircraft though.

Big E. See the USS Enterprise site listed in the column to the left.

Baltimore Class Light Cruiser. One of the two classes converted hastily to the Independence class Light Carrier. The other class was the Cleveland class. This drastic measure proved invaluable in maintaining American Naval Air Power.
