SCENE(S):  MacDougan's Wrestling School
~~Blood, sweat, and tears.  This is what makes a champion, what makes a true competitor.  When someone is in touch with the ability to give it all they have, to give everything they possibly can, despite anything that arrises, anything that keeps them from their goal, they will succeed.  Magic has had his fair share of hardships, along with the rest of the ASW roster, but he has decided, despite popular opinion and a few heated internal arguments, to stick with it...to stick around, and give all that he has to the first fed to give him a serious opportunity.  For this, he is grateful...perhaps more so than his father before him, who came in and snatched up a title in his third match...true, Mike is on the same course...but that isn't stopping him.  The situation is different, and the people only share blood.  His father added it to an already impressive list of titles, defended it for a month against a competitor that just wouldn't give up and just couldn't seem to best him, and then left.  No questions asked.  Mike is different...Mike has potential that he wants to show the world...potential that will carry him far in life.  He's looking to make an impact, and it seems he is right on course.~~

O'BRIAN:   15....16....17...18...19...20...

~~Bleeding Hearts will be a PPV event that will let "Simply Magic" Mike MacDougan shine...show the world that he is descended from a long line of kings and warriors.  To show the world that he is indeed worthy to carry a title, that he is more than able to defend it, and that he is more than able to raise that title to new heights...he's ready for all that ASW can throw at him, and he's glowing because of it.~~

O'BRIAN:  21...22...23...24...25...26...27...28...29...30...

~~Why shouldn't he glow?  He's been afforded a position that could make all of his dreams come true...a true position among the champions.  He's glowing because he knows this...but that doesn't mean he's gonna slack off in the lime-light.  Hell no...that wouldn't be the MacDougan way.  If anything, he'll work harder than ever before.~~

O'BRIAN:  31...32...33...34...35...36...damn boy, you're an animal today...38...39...40...

KMD:  
He can already taste the gold, thats why...whenever he gets close, as I've noticed, nothing will stop him.  He did it all through highschool, back when he used to wrestle varsity.  Everytime he went to states, he worked harder...hell, half the time I had to slow him down before he wore himself out.

O'BRIAN:  41...42...43...44...wore himself out?  46...47...48...49......50.  Damn, Mike!  Where the hell did that come from?

~~The camera slowly fades into a shot of O'Brian standing over a bench and Mike MacDougan, who is now sitting up with a grin on his face.  We're in MacDougan's wrestling school, mid-day.  KMD is stiting on another bench, off to the left, watching his son.  The room is full of other young men...young wrestlers...students of KMD's, working out and cooling off from a hard day hitting the mats.  He waves to a student as he leaves.~~

KMD:  Later, Ace.  Yeah, one time before regionals, he ripped a tit.  He was in a lot of pain, but still competed.  He finished fourth, but could have easily taken 1st if he wasn't so possessed about training.

~~Mike grins at his father as he tosses him a bottle of water and a towel.  Mike takes a long swig, tosses it back to KMD, and then dries off his head with a towel.~~

O'BRIAN:  We're not going to let that happen...especially with him being so close.

KMD:  I'd be careful about that statement...his brand of training is pretty contagious.

MAGIC:  Yeah, all the beautiful women you want and as much beer as you can drink!

~~Krev chuckles, taking a swig of water himself.~~

KMD:
Right.

MAGIC:  Aw hell, I just like to train...push myself.  You know that feeling, right pops?  Speaking of, it's your set.

~~Krev grunts as he pushes himself off the bench and exchanges places with his son.~~

KMD:  I'm not doing a set of 50, though.  That's just insane.

~~Mike laughs.~~

MAGIC:  That's because you can't handle that many.  You're old...didn't you get that much from Ebdon?

KMD:  Oh, I know...he's told me.  Many times.  And in great detail.  Frankly, its become annoying...he thinks he deserves another shot at me.  I beat him twice already, once for the Heavyweight title.  It's really annoying.

MAGIC:  It's persistance...and a persistance that will get the best of you if you don't train.  You're only going to be able to go toe to toe with the guy if you train...and keep up with it.

KMD:  Yeah, yeah...I know, I know.  What about your match?  You have a big PPV coming up, and you have a title shot.  Just don't over-train this time.

~~Mike blinks and then looks up at O'Brian, and then back to KMD.~~

MAGIC:  That won't happen...I don't want to blow the only chance I might get.

~~Krev raises a brow as he lays down on the bench.~~


KMD:  Only chance?

~~Mike nods.~~

MAGIC:  I'm pretty confident that the ASW is a solid proving grounds...a stable federation...but there have been whispers back stage-

O'BRIAN:  Unfounded!  Fools...people don't get their way, and they whine.  We're just going with the flow, Mikey.

MAGIC:  Don't call me that.  But, yeah.  I'm sticking around...I'm happy here, despite what some people say and/or think.  It's a good, solid fed that just needs a little pick-me-up.

~~Krev chuckles, grabbing the bar.~~

KMD:  I have a feeling what that pick-me-up is...

MAGIC:  That's right...A Simply Magical pick-me-up.  Yeah, I've only had a short run in the ASW compared to most guys here, but I've already broke through the competition and proven myself a worthy competitor.  I'm undefeated...true, it's only with 2 matches, but I haven't had any brain-farts or slip-ups.  I'm ready to take myself to the next level, as well as the rest of the ASW with me.

O'BRIAN:  Any eyes on any factions?

MAGIC:  Women go to the bathroom in herds...yeah, it would be nice to have someone that actually can hold their own in the ring to watch my back, but that proabably isn't going to happen for awhile.  Why try and fix something that isn't broken, huh?

O'BRIAN:  A stable can give you a lot of shots at different titles.

MAGIC:  Right now all a stable will do is slow me down...and I'm not cool with that.  When I can't get by on my skill and talent alone, then I might turn to a stable for help.  Right now, whats the point?

KMD:  When you can't get by on skill and talent, then you have to turn to pure experience.

~~Mike looks at KMD and nods.~~

MAGIC:  Do your rep, old man.

KMD:  Yeah, yeah, yeah...I'm getting to it.

MAGIC:  You 're certainly dragging enough ass around getting there.

~~Krev grins.~~

KMD:  I'm preparing.

MAGIC:  Take any longer, and I'm gonna have to make funeral preparations.

~~We fade to black as KMD starts off his rep, lifting the bar with 3 plates per side and letting his arm extend fully.~~

I am becoming

~~We fade back in to a shot of the school, this time in the office.  KMD and Mike are lounging on the couch, beer in hand.  O'Brian is sitting on top of KMD's desk, also holding a bottle.  The office is furnished with not much other than old photographs, replica titles he's held, and a small fridge in the corner.  On top of a filing cabinet sits a prominant display piece...the IWF Heavyweight title.  Mike tips the beer to KMD, nodding.~~

MAGIC:  Not a peep out of the other two, yet.  I'm not worried about Derrick Dynamite.  As for Dean Man...well, he is the TV Champion, afterall.  I think he'll put up the most fight.

KMD:  Can't say I know either of the names.

MAGIC: I've seen them both work...definatly worthy contendors.  Dean Man, though, is my target.  He's the current champion, and seems like the most obvious of the pair to go after.

~~O'Brian laughs outloud, both KMD and Mike looking at him curiously.~~

O'BRIAN:  The best part is the style of match.

MAGIC:  Yeah, I found that sort of funny when I read it too.

O'BRIAN:  What were they thinking?  They put you in a hardcore rules match...that's giving you the title.

MAGIC:  Not to brag or anything, but, yeah...I'm damn good at that style...hell, when you train with KMD, you have to be good at that style, otherwise he might kill you.  Some of my fondest memories go back to backyard brawls with the old man taking pot-shots at each other with tree branches.

O'BRIAN:  How old were you?

~~Mike shrugs, taking a swig of beer.~~

MAGIC:  Five or six.  I dunno.

O'BRIAN:  FIVE OR SIX?

~~Mike takes a swig of beer, nodding.  KMD laughs.~~

KMD:  I wouldn't say you were that young...but it is in your blood.

O'BRIAN:  I've seen you guys beat on each other with everything from road signs to trash cans...and for fun.  Uh...why?

MAGIC:  It just seemed like the thing to do.  Pops here nearly re-invented the style, what with his legendary matches between Tann and the series of "Steel City Street Fights"...he's held the hardcore title of nearly every fed he's ever been in.  Can't say I can do the same, but I can give it a shot...

~~O'Brian nods.~~

O'BRIAN:  Well, just keep your eyes on Dean Man, Derrick Dynamite, and the ASW TV Title for now...we can deal with the rest later.

MAGIC:  Definately.

KMD:  Planning anything special for the night?

MAGIC:   Naw...just going to go in there, confront those men, go head-to-head, toe-to-toe, and give it my all.  I'm confident I can beat them.  If I even hear so much as a peep from either of them, I'd be surprised.

O'BRIAN:  Why's that?

~~Mike shrugs, taking a swig of beer.~~

MAGIC:  Look at me!  Would you want to take me on?

O'BRIAN:  No...

~~KMD sits up and looks at Mike.~~

KMD:  I would.  You can't hardly use Phil here as an example...he's...well...not that stacked.  He might be able to keep himself from getting killed, but he can't exactly do much damage to anyone.

MAGIC:  Yeah, well I'm pretty sure about myself...but what I really would like would be to hear what they have to say...get in their heads a little and see what kind of gooey goodness I can scrape from there that they don't know about.  You can't hardly do anything against someone who doesn't even know you exist.

O'BRIAN:  I'm sure they know you exist.

MAGIC:  Well, if they don't, they will.  After Broken Hearts, all of the ASW will know I exist..it's only right.

KMD:  Maybe you should see about getting an interview on the show...that always lets people know you're around...and could make you a threat.  If they see you as a threat, they will definatly take notice...because after that, only fear exists.

MAGIC:  Maybe I should...become the most feared man in the ASW, huh?

~~Mike chuckles as all three take a swig of beer at exactly the same time.~~

O'BRIAN:  That was creepy.

MAGIC:  Yeah...

KMD:  But, seriously, take advantage of that.  Fed-heads love that sort of stuff.

MAGIC:  Yeah...I'll figure something out.  An interview or something.

O'BRIAN:  Or you could attack someone.

MAGIC:  Screw that...I have better things to do and better things to focus on.  My method is my madness...slow, calculated, and persistant.  I like to see my competitors see me coming, and pray to god that someone else stops me before I get to them...I'll take things as they come along and just go with it.  Besides, attacking someone without provocation is for cowards.

O'BRIAN:  It'll get you noticed.

MAGIC:   The only way I should be noticed right now is someone coming along to take his first career title.  Harmless...quaint...but slowly my strength skill will be felt.  Slowly, but surely, they will all take notice when the Magic Man is banging on their doors, looking to collect a few back-taxes on a career already behind schedule.  Bleeding Hearts is coming up very, very soon...and I'm going to make sure it is a night to remember...a Simply Magical night.

~~We fade to black as the camera zooms in on Mike, taking a long, slow swig of his beer with a million-dollar shit-eating grin on his face.~~
