Inside Shifty's Mind!!

Picture from....
Shifty's Official Website
A relatively new face on the southwestern wrestling scene, Shifty gives some pointed comments concerning indy wrestling, his plans and his own career. He is a name to watch and if given the proper breaks, could go far in the profession.
DP: Where did you come up with the name of Shifty?
S: Shifty means tricky, elusive. I got the name Shifty a few years ago, because IM usually a quit guy but just like that I can switch to a wild party guy, or change different attitudes. So some friends started calling me Shifty.
DP: And your role or persona is...
S: I am the cursor weight style, high flying, fan acknowledging, tweener "That's just Shifty!"
DP: Where have you wrestled so far?
S: I have wrestled in Arizona, New Mexico, and California, but only Arizona with real indy promotions.
DP: What is your url and point where you can be contacted?
S: http://geocities.com/shiftytm/ is my url.
SHiFtYtm@aol.com is my email add.
DP: You have worked out of the Phoenix-Tucson area, right? What is the wrestling like there now?
S: Its good, when the promotions are running show's, kinda slow right now though.
DP: Where do you see yourself going with wrestling, honestly?
S: As of right now I have stepped out of the wrestling scene for personal reasons, but helping train the basics once in a while. If I was still in there giving my heart, I could be somewhere else and maybe bigger places working. One day I hope to be a Pro-wrestler.
DP: Do you have any favorite moves?
S: Well, my signature moves are the shiftilization its a power bomb into a facebuster, but that more of a big guy move. So I like the stay to the air with shifty in motion and springboard blockbuster.
DP: What about wrestlers? Whom did you grow up watching?
S: The usual for my time hulk, macho man, giant, Warriror. I take my style after the small guy and cursors, like rey mysterio, the hardy's, ect...
DP: Any interesting stories you can tell related to wrestling?
S: No not really, but I was in the ring when it fell apart during a show, and got tangled in the ropes that's kinda funny though.
DP: Aside from wrestling what are your likes and dislikes?
S: People who think they are above everyone else without giving one a chance to prove differ.
DP: On the indy scene, what wrestlers do you think have a great future among the current crop?
S: I have trained with a few who are now in different places now, some in OVW and WWE, the most current who moved on I believe was "horse shu" better known now as Luther reigns. There are a few others who have the potential to go if given the chance.
DP: Wrestling was very big for Indies in Arizona in the 1970s and 1980s. Do you think it will be again?
S: Like I said a few lines up kinda slow. I know both promotions I have worked for are working on getting out there again, and start putting on great shows again.
DP: Closing comments?
Thanks to my fans for coming and supporting my while wrestling, hopefully ill be returning to the ring soon. Thanks to both promotions for giving me my chance to work for them. Thanks to Dale Pierce for taking the time and interest for this interview.
Now that just SHiFtY!!
