[:*: - Patrick Farrell -:*:]

Patrick gets home from school. He walks around the house looking for his father. Instead... he finds his mother.

[ * - * : Gina : * - * ]

Hi Honey!

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Hi Mom. Where's dad?

[ * - * : Gina : * - * ]

He's in his office he...

Patrick storms off.

[ * - * : Gina : * - * ]

He's very busy!!

Patrick gets to his father's office. He looks at the door and raises his hand to knock. Instead... he just pushes the door open. His father looks at the door shocked. Patrick barges in.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

I can't believe you lied to me!

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

What are you talking about?

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

You know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm talking about Hannah!

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

Have a seat, son.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

I'll stand.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

She feels so uncomfortable right now! She feels like such an outsider. And I can't blame her. You lied to me! You said that her mother left you and took her away from you. But she says that YOU left.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

Pat I...

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

No more lies dad! You need to start telling me the truth about things around here.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

I did. Hannah's mother left me. And she took Hannah. And she never let me see her.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

I don't believe you.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

Well... I'm sorry that you don't believe me son, but that's the truth.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Oh yeah... why haven't you spent any time with Hannah then since she got here? Have you even said "hi" to her? Do you realize that she just lost her mother and best friend and she's being forced to live with strangers?

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

We're not strangers son, we're her family.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Yeah... her family that hasn't given a damn about her in years. How do you think she's feeling right now dad? Or is she right... YOu really dont' care about her.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

That's ridiculous!! Of course I care about her, she's my daughter!

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Yeah. Well... I would never treat my daughter the way you treat Hannah. She's been here for almost a week now. And I bet you haven't even gone to see her have you?

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

I've seen her.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Passing in the halls?

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

I've been busy.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Too busy for your daughter that you haven't seen in years?!

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

Patrick calm down!

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

No, I'm not going to calm down. I want you to act like a father to her. For once... stop putting yourself before everyone.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

I always put you before me.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

I'm not talking about me dad. For once... I'm not talking about me.

Patrick turns around and starts to walk away.

[ * - * : Greg : * - * ]

I'll take her to dinner tomorrow night.

Patrick looks back at his father who looks at him with sympathetic eyes. Slowly, Patrick nodds his head.

[ * - * : Patrick : * - * ]

Thanks.

Patrick walks out of the office. Greg tries to go back to doing his work. He throws his pencil down and sighs.
