Redemption is something many think involves god.

Give your heart to god, love god.

Only then will you find Redemption.

Redemption isn’t about loving god.

It’s about loving your self and seeing if you have anything left to go on with your life.

2:17 pm

***The scene opens with a shot at a bright sunny morning.  The clouds seem so white and puffy this morning.  The sun peaking out of them looks almost like pure peace.  A bird flies overhead soaring across the sky going to only god knows where.  It’s days like this that makes living all worth wild.  So peaceful you know.  Like if you could pick one moment to live in, from every moment of your life, this would be the moment.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves downward now.  Slowly it goes down until a rooftop of a home is shown.  Still moving, the rest of the home is shown.  The home it self is a normal size, two story, white brick home with a few trees planted on the size.  It almost looks like one of those TV show homes.  The ones with the big loving family that have problem each week that can be settled in a half an hour.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves back now and to now surprise we see a white picket fence surrounding the home.  Hell there is even a cute little mailbox shaped as a Mail-truck.  In front of the mailbox there are some letters and numbers placed for direction.  They read, “3214 Los Arcos Circle” followed by, “Weslaco, TX”.  Suddenly a noise is heard close by.  In fact it almost sound like it came in front of the mailbox.  The sound was loud and ended just as quickly as it sounded.  It was almost like screeching tires.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves back around from the home.  Now it’s positioned across the street.  The screeching sound was in fact tire sounds.  It came from a white F-150 parked in front of the home.  Mud covers the truck in a matter that would make people guess that it was taken off road for quite a period.  All of a sudden the driver side door of the truck opens.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves to a bottom shot of the truck where we can see a man with black boots stepping out of the truck. The truck door closes. Next, a cigarette falls to the ground and the man steps on it with his boot. The scene slowly moves up to see the man is wearing a black trench coat with a black turtleneck. As it keeps moving up, we can also notice that on the man's face is a pair of dark black sunglasses. The man slowly takes off his glasses to reveal himself as none other than the Goddamn Fucking Franchise, David Dunn. David places his sunglasses in his trench coat, then he looks towards the home.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves close to David.  He starts to walk towards the fence door.  David’s hand reaches for the door handle, he’s about to grab it when he stops.  David talks a step back.  Once again he looks at the house.  There he stands, just shaking his head as if he can’t grab that handle.***

DUNN:  Get control David.  This week you’ve done so much to start over again.  Jeannette said he was here…and you’ve had your problems with him in the past but you know right now that it’s all about to change…at least you hope so right.  You can do this David.  You just have to be honest and in control.  You can get through this.  All you have to do is just take this final step.

***David closes his eyes for a few seconds.  Slowly he reaches out and grabs the fence door handle.  David opens his eyes, opens the door, and starts to walk up the path to the front door of the house.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves to the front door of the home. Soon after the scene moves, David approach the door. David lifts his hand to the door and is about to knock when he stops. His hand drops back down to his side.***

DUNN:  I’ve done this all before.  I talked to him, gave them a song and dance, then stabbed him in the back.  What if this time he doesn’t want to listen to me.  What if he just wants me to just drop dead.  I don’t think I could take that.  I don’t know maybe I could…I’m just confused.  I do know one thing though.  Standing out here isn’t getting me anywhere.  So either I knock on this fucking door and stand up like a man, or I tuck my head between my legs and go back to the truck.  We all have to stand up once in our lives…

***David's hand lifts up and knocks on the door. David's eyes close at the horror that he fears is about to happen. A few seconds pass. The door opens. A woman stands at the door entrance. She is wearing a long white dress, kind of like something you would wear to the beach. David looks up to see the woman standing in the doorway is none other than his wife Jeannette.***

DUNN: Hi....

***Jeannette Dunn opens the door in shock for a little bit then steps out and hugs him.***

JEANNETTE: Well hello there sweetie.

DUNN: Hi honey.

JEANNETTE:  Why didn’t you just use your key instead of knocking on the door?

***Jeannette stops hugging David.***

DUNN:  I thought this would be more dramatic.

JEANNETTE:  Huh?

DUNN:  Nevermind.

***Suddenly footsteps are heard from within the house.  David looks over the left hand side of Jeannette.  A young man now stands behind Jeannette holding on to the doorknob.  The young man is wearing a black jacket, a white silk shirt, blue slacks, and brown loafers.***

DUNN:  Hello Wilson.

***Wilson looks at his father with disgust.***

WILSON:  What the fuck is that asshole doing here?

***He turns around and walks away from the door slowly***

DUNN:  Wilson wait!

***David moves past Jeannette and inside the house.  Once inside he grabs Wilson’s arm and swings him around.***

DUNN:  Wilson could you just hear me out here.

WILSON:  For what?!  Another, I’ve changed speeches.  That now everything is going to be different.  You’re going to a nicer, kinder, gentler father.  I don’t think so father.  You fool me once, shame on you.  You fool me twice, shame on me.  I ain’t buying what you’re selling this time.

***Wilson pulls his arm away from David and starts to walk away.***

DUNN:  Wilson please!  Hear me out okay.  And…if you don’t believe what I have to say…I’ll stay out of your life forever.

***Wilson stops dead in his tracks.  He turns around back towards his father.***

WILSON:  OK, let me understand this.  I listen to your lies for a while.  Then when I don’t believe any thing you’ve said, you’ll stay out of my life forever?  Is this correct.

DUNN:  I would put it all like that, but yeah.  Hear me out, you don’t believe me when I’m done then I’m gone from your life forever.  Is it a deal?

WILSON:  Deal.

***Jeannette enters the house.  She closes the door behind her.***

JEANNETTE:  Well then.  Let’s all go to the living room and have a seat shall we.

***David, Wilson, and Jeannette all start walking toward the living room.  Soon there out of sight.***

***FLASH***

***The scene reopens in the living room.  Some time has past.  About 5 minutes or so.  Wilson is sitting on a loveseat with Jeannette looking towards David who is sitting on a lazy boy.  Wilson seems a little impatient.***

DUNN:  …that’s what I’ve done this week.  I’ve taken myself to the beginning again.  With my career and my family.

WILSON:  Family?  We were never a family Father. You were always too busy to get close to me…and when you found out I was gay, then oh damn, you fucking disowned me.

***Jeannette looks at Wilson in a very shocked manner.***

JEANNETTE:  How can you say that to your father?

DUNN:  Jeannette it’s okay.  I deserve it.  I ten to one deserve more than just that.  In the past I’ve been an asshole to both of you.  I’ve pushed both of you away, not because I don’t love you but because I was on some ego trip that was all about me.  I feared being with my loved ones would cause me to lose my edge.  To show that I was nothing more than a baby when it came to my family.  For that I’m sorry.

WILSON:  Is that it?!  What now?  Am I suppose to jump up and hug you while saying, “Oh father I’m sorry to.  I love you so much.”  I don’t think so pops.

DUNN:  Will you just let me finish here Wilson.

WILSON:  Why?  I know your lying to me father.  I don’t believe all that ego crap.  There’s something else you’re not telling me.  You said you wanted to be honest to me.  Well here’s your damn chance.  Tell me the fucking truth for once in your life.

***David seems to be getting a little angry at Wilson’s comments.  He’s face has turned red, his eyes are blood shot, and a little vain has now popped out of the side of his neck.***

DUNN:  You don’t want to know the full truth Wilson.  The part I told you was true.  There is more to it but I’m not going into it with you.

WILSON:  Why?  You can handle it David?  Yeah David, are you a fucking coward?!

JEANNETTE:  Guys settle down.

DUNN:  You don’t know what the hell your talking about son.  I don’t want to tell you because I don’t want you to make the same mistakes that I have.  That my father has.  That my Uncle’s had.  And so on.  I don’t want you to walk down that same path that was laid out for the Dunn family.

WILSON:  What a load of crap.  Your nothing but a coward.

***David jumps out of the chair and right into Wilson’s face.***

DUNN:  You want to know the truth?!  Do you really?!  Then fine!

***David moves away from Wilson and sits back down.***

DUNN:  Ever wonder why I never really talk about my past or my father.  You want to know why?  Because my past sucked!  My father’s dead.  And because of him so will I be.

***Wilson sits there looking at his father with a confused look on his face.***

JEANNETTE:  What do you mean David?

DUNN:  The reason I pushed you away Wilson.  The reason I pushed Jeannette away.  Your mother Amber away.  And every fucking person on this god-forsaken planet is because I know I will live up to the Dunn family curse.

WILSON:  What fucking curse?!

DUNN:  Every male in my family killed themselves.  Every one of them.  Dead.  Gone.  They’re not coming back.

WILSON:  What does that have to do with pushing everyone away huh?!

DUNN:  Look…I love you…I love Jeannette…hell I even love your mother.  If I died and it was all-normal between us, what would happen?  You’d be sad.  This and that, blah, blah, blah.  If you hated me, like you do now, you wouldn’t give a rat’s ass if I lived or died.  Get the picture.  I never really wanted to be like this Wilson.  My mother and father were great.  They didn’t fight or yell at one another.  That was, until, I was born.  My father thought my mother loved me more than him.  So what did he do?  He would beat my mother.  He was crazy.  I was glad the day my mother found the guts to throw his ass out of the house.  I never loved my father I guess.  So when he shot his head off with a 22. I really didn’t care much about it.  Life goes on, people die, no big deal.  Yet, a few years later I marry Amber.  Were happy.  We never yell, or fight.  Just like my parents were before I was born.  Then you were born son.  Just like my father, I hated you.  I felt Amber loved you more than me.  My world start to crumble around me.  I use to come home drunk and smack her around.  Enjoyed it too.  I would just look at her crying on the floor and think to myself, “Serves you right bitch”.  I hated her for bring you into this world.  I hated you for being born.  Then one day I was in a bad wrestling match.  I really got my ass handed to me.  I found myself in hospital room.  Amber wasn’t there.  You weren’t there.  No one cared if I lived or died.  I began to think about my past, how I had turned into my father.  That’s the day I knew I couldn’t go on.  That was the first time I ever thought about putting a gun next to my head…and….just ending it all.  End all the pain.  Soon after that I met Jeannette.  It all changed.  It was like she showed me a different path.  Sadly, I still pushed you away from me.  Of course it didn’t last long.  Eventually I started to push her way from me as well.  I felt no one cared for me.  So I started believing that all I needed was myself.  I got on an ego trip so badly that it would make murders seem like really nice guys.  No one cared about me so I didn’t care about anyone else.  But you can’t live like that Wilson…I’ve learned that in retirement…there’s no fans…or money…or titles to win…just you in a lonely room by yourself.

***Jeannette gets up from the loveseat and walks towards David.  She puts her arms around him and kisses him on his forehead.  David kiss Jeannette back.  He gets up off the lazy boy and starts to head for the door.***

DUNN:  I’ll give you some time son.

***David is about to open the door when Wilson calls to him.***

WILSON:  Nice speech but I still think your full of shit.

DUNN:  It’s perfectly alright.  That’s your choice.

***David opens the front door.  He walks out of the house.  David is about to get into his truck when Jeannette runs out of the house.***

JEANNETTE:  Where are you going?

DUNN:  I have to get down to the station.  I told you I had an interview today.

JEANNETTE:  An interview?!  Your just going to leave after all that you just said?  After the fact your son still hates you?!  You not going to come back and try to talk to him?!

DUNN:  Look, he hates me…that’s all there is too it.  I opened up to him and I get shit for my troubles.  He truly is my son.

***David starts his truck and drives off from the house.  Jeannette is left out side in complete shock.***

3:02 pm

***The scene reopens with a shot of the sky.  The clouds move through out the sky heading towards only god knows where.  The sun shines bright over the earth only fading moment to moment by passing clouds.  Slowly the scene moves downward upon the earth and a shot at a big office building.  On the side of the building a sign is placed near the top edge.  The words “Q-94.5 The Rock!” glows bright red from the sign as the scene moves closer to the building.***

***FLASH***

***The scene moves into the office building.  Quickly it moves up and down hallways, passing room after room until finally coming to a stop right in front of a room with walls of glass.  In side the room we can see a man and a woman sitting down next to what seems to be radio equipment.  Over there heads hanging on the way we see a red light sign which reads, “On-Air”.  Suddenly the light comes on and the man starts to speak.***

BROCK:  Hello wrestling fans I’m Matt Brock and to my left is always the lovely Lisa Hunter.  And to the right of me the man of the hour John Murphy.

MURPHY:  That be me.

HUNTER:  Yes sir.

BROCK:  Today were going to be doing an exclusive with a top-wrestling name in the world.  He’ll be joining us shortly.  But before he enters the building let me run down his history real quick.

***Brock pulls out a piece of paper and lays in on the desk in front of him.***

BROCK:  Since his arrival in the BJWC two years ago, David Dunn had been over shadowed by the company he keeps.  When David Dunn first captured the BJWC TV title, most observers felt it was mostly due to the guidance of then-associate Brandon AKA Gothic.  Then it was Roadkill who stole the show as BJWC Champion while David contended for the Hardcore strap.  Then it was Blake’s timely inference that delivered gold in the form of the North American belt to the Goddamn F(BEEP)king Franchise.

MURPHY:  Those days of being overlooked are now a distant memory.  Today, David Dunn is arguably the most powerful competitor in the wrestling world.  Hell he even positioned himself as the top contender for the BJWC World title and at match time, with Jake Blood in his corner, came away with Roadkill’s belt.  With the destruction of the BJWC David has started over with a new company.  My people think lightening will strike twice for Mr. Dunn.  Only time will tell.

BROCK:  We have just been informed that David Dunn has entered the building.  I guess we’ll sit down with him right after this commercial.

***Brock pushes a button on an electrical consol.  The red light goes off.***

BROCK:  So what do you think Lisa?

HUNTER:  About what?

BROCK:  You know about interviewing David today.

HUNTER:  Well just have that censer button ready that’s all I can say.  He’s a loose canon you know that.

BROCK:  No joke.  How he was accepted into the SWF I’ll never know.  God don’t people read “work history” when deciding to hire someone.

HUNTER:  Oh shit.  Look who’s walking up to the door.

***David walks into the room and sits down at an empty seat next to Brock and Hunter.  Dunn puts on a set of headphones.  He then takes off his sunglasses and places them next to Hunter.***

BROCK:  Hello David.

***The red light comes on in the studio.***

BROCK:  And were back.  Now in the studio is the 3 time and current BJWC Champion as well as the BJWC Grandslam Champion David Dunn.

DUNN:  I see the whole gang came out of this little conversation.  Murphy, I’m glad you brought some new faces for once.  I was getting tired of talking to you every time one of your friends wanted an autograph.  And Lisa Hunter, no less.  You know, Lisa, if I weren’t a happily married man, I might suggest you and I meet for a more personal one-on-one.

HUNTER:  And if I weren’t being paid to be here, I wouldn’t be caught dead talking to you.

DUNN:  Ouch.  Murphy, you never told me she had claws.

MURPHY:  You should catch her on her lunch break.

BROCK:  Okay, it’s obvious that I’m the one who’s gonna have to get down to business.  David, you had my vote for Rookie of the year for 2001, not that my opinion means anything to you.  Anyways, you’ve proven to me that you are a legitimate threat to any world title based on your own physical abilities.

MURPHY:  As well as your mental abilities.

HUNTER:  HA!  That’s just another way of putting he’s the world’s best back stabber.

DUNN:  Watch it.

BROCK:  Okay, okay, be nice you two.

MURPHY:  David a question we’ve been wondering for a while is what happened with you leaving the BJWC with the world title and jumping ship to SWF?

DUNN:  That’s an easy one.  I felt like it.

BROCK:  What do you mean?

DUNN:  Meaning that BJWC was dead.  On the other hand SWF is a live and well.  I figure I’d show up and make a name for myself in the SWF seeing it’s new ground to me.

BROCK:  Okay what about this Sunday.  It seems you got a big match coming up.

DUNN:  Do I care?  No.  I’ve been in big matches.  This is nothing.  All I see it as, is a match to show off my skill to some of the people who have never witnessed the G.F.F.  Personally I think the SWF roster is pathetic.  You got nothing but second rate wrestlers trying to be something there not…namely me.

HUNTER:  As much as I want to be professional and conduct this interview from an objective standpoint, but…

BROCK:  Here we go.

HUNTER:  …you make me sick, Dunn.  All week I’ve heard you jumping back and forth.  One minute your caring.  Another you’re a cocky prick.  I wish you would be honest with everyone for once.

DUNN:  Mee-ow!  Damn girl.  Really Hunter, I do it, to screw with your head.  You should know that.

HUNTER:  Your such an as(BEEP)le you know that.

MURPHY:  Moving right along…your comments this week brought a sense of confusion.  You have an important first match against Triple X and a woman.  The match you seeming aren’t too worried about.  But you keep bringing up some form of revenge.  Against some gentlemen, or a gentleman.  How can you win such a tough battle from my view point, and then go out on a revenge rampage?

DUNN:  I can go all night if I have to.  Just ask Jeannette if you don’t believe me, Lisa.

HUNTER:  That’s it!  Guys, you’re going to have to finish this up without me.

***Lisa Hunter abruptly leaves the room.  David laughs for several seconds before regaining his composure.***

MURPHY:  You’re a big hit with the ladies, David.  Any ways, who the hell are these people your after.  And why go after them at the PPV?

DUNN:  Well first thing is to win this match Sunday, which is really not much of a chore.  Honestly you got a “slut” and a “want a be” against me.  I’ve done more in my career than both of those as(BEEP)les have done in there whole lives.  Now as far as the people I’m after…as I stated before…that’s my little secret.

MURPHY:  But David…

DUNN:  Shut up man.  This interview is done.

***David gets out of his seat and leaves the room.***

MURPHY:  We’ll be right back after this commercial break

***FLASH***

***The scene moves to the parking lot of the radio station.  Once there we can see David standing next to his truck lighting up a cigarette.  David takes a drag out of it and leans back on the bed.***

DUNN:  I know a lot of people are going to be wondering about everything that I’ve been going through to start over again…how can I truly be prepared to step into the ring after such a long time.  Family problems over welling me at each passing step…yet one thing has always remain the same.  Me.  Through all the problems, through all the time which has passed, my self and my abilities have always remained the same.  No matter how it seems, when the bell rings…who ever…who ever is standing in front of me…is…point blank dead.

***David walks toward the drivers side door. He is about to get in when he turns slightly back…***

DUNN:  Enough said.

***David gets into his truck, turns it on, and drives off.  The scene fades to black.***
