To infinite, ever present Love, all is Love, and
there is no error, no sin sickness, nor death.
--Mary Baker Eddy
***The scene opens with a spot of a local Weslaco Texas hospital. The scene pans inside the hospital. Once inside the scene moves down halls and doors until it reaches a door with someone sitting outside on a chair. It’s a woman it seems. She’s holding a little baby in her arms. Slowly she rocks it back and forth singing to it with a smile on her face. The woman is none other than Jeannette Dunn. Suddenly the door she sits next too opens and a doctor walks out.***
DOCTOR: You can go see him now Mrs. Dunn.
***Jeannette gets up
from her chair holding her baby closely.***
JEANNETTE: Thank you.
***The doctor opens the door and Jeannette walks in. Once in Jeannette sees her husband David Dunn laying in a hospital bed. Tubs are sticking out of David’s nose as well as his wrists. Jeannette walks up to David and looks on to his face. David’s eyes open slowly. David tries to crack a smile.***
DUNN: …I…I should have wore a heavier shirt don’t
you think…
JEANNETTE: Well you are looking kind of crispy.
DUNN: How’s…little Mary….doing?
JEANNETTE: She’s doing fine. I would let you hold her but you don’t look in any condition to do
anything.
***David slowly tries
to pull himself up.***
JEANNETTE: What are you doing?!
DUNN: Hand…hand me my pants.
JEANNETTE: Where do you think your going?!
DUNN: I have a catch a plane. I have…to….I have to get my hands on…Strick…
***Jeannette with one
hand pushes David back down.***
DUNN: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
***David screams out in
pain.***
JEANNETTE: See!
Your in no shape to do anything.
Your burns were minor but still you need time to recuperate.
DUNN: …god…damn….that hurt.
***David looks at
Jeannette.***
DUNN: You…proved your point. But…who’s…who’s going to take my plan on
Adrenaline?
***Right then there is a knock at the door. The door opens and David’s son Wilson walks through.***
JEANNETTE: He is.
***David closes his eyes.***
DUNN: If….if I could laugh I would...right…about
now.
***Wilson walks up to
the hospital bed.***
WILSON: Why’s that so funny?
DUNN: First off…you don’t…have the skills…to be a
wrestler.
WILSON: Look dad we’ve had our differences but what you’ve failed to see is that I’ve been training for a very long time. I might be the best wrestler in the world but I think I can at least back Brody up.
***David starts to
cough a little bit then he settles down.***
DUNN: Jeannette…give him the letter.
***Jeannette pulls a letter out of her bag and hands it to Wilson. Wilson opens it and looks back at David with a very confused look on his face.***
WILSON: What the hell am I suppose to do with this?
DUNN: Call him.
Talk to him and tell him he is needed.
He’ll know what it means. I
figure if your head strong going into this foolish replacement deal, then your
going to need some kind of back up. I
was going to bring him in later but it seems Strick caused me to bring him in
now.
***Wilson crumbles up
the letter and throws it on the ground.***
WILSON: I already called him Dad. As well as Brody. Oh course you already knew about Brody.
DUNN: Let me tell you something about Brody. He’s the one guy you always want to side by
side with. He’s not the biggest guy
I’ve known…but he is the toughest. Now
the other guy…oh boy…Fyne. A guy that
truly is a loose cannon. You have to
watch out for him Wilson. He’ll be your
friend. He’ll back your ass up. But if you piss him off…he might not your
fucking head off.
WILSON: Well your sure sounding better.
DUNN: I guess so.
The drugs must be finally kicking in.
WILSON: Right. Look dad…I got to go. I still have a lot to do before Adrenaline, so if you don’t mind I’ll go now…
***Wilson turns for the
door.***
DUNN: Wait…
***Wilson turns back
around and looks at his father.***
WILSON: Yeah?
DUNN: I don’t say it much but, thank you
Wilson. You’ve grown up to be quite the
young man. And, when I’m out of here,
it would be an honor if you would lead DH as our spokes man. You’ve taken my place while I’m in this
place. It’s not an easy space to
fill. For that you’ve earned my respect. You’ve also earned the right to stand beside
myself and the other two members of DH.
***Wilson looks down for a moment. He then looks back up at his father.***
WILSON: You know from the beginning, all I wanted was your respect. Now that I have it, it’s almost like I don’t want it. I’ll never forgive you for what you’ve done to me in the past.
***Wilson starts
walking to the door.***
WILSON: Yet now, at least I can find some peace in knowing that you need my help.
***Wilson leaves the
room.***
JEANNETTE: He doesn’t mean it David.
***David cracks a smile
briefly.***
DUNN: Yeah.
Yeah he does.
***Jeannette shakes her
head at David in disbelief.***
***FLASH***
***The scene reopens
out side of the hospital as Wilson is walking to his car. Wilson reaches into his pocket and looks for
his keys.***
WILSON: At Adrenaline I’m going to step into the ring for the first time ever to wrestle my first real match. I’m not the best wrestler in the world. In fact I might even be the worst. At least I know Brody will be there to watch my back. I not worried about getting hurt. What I am worried about is Strick Carrington. Not for what he might do to me, but what I might do to him. I don’t care about winning. I don’t care about getting hurt. All I care about is getting some kind of revenge against a man that almost killed my father.
***Wilson pulls his keys
out and looks around trying to find his car.***
WILSON: I know I can’t stand toe to toe with you Strick. I know if we faced one another in a singles match you would probably kill me. I can accept that fact. Yet this isn’t a singles match. There are four other people in this match besides you and I. So maybe, just maybe if the chance arrives at the right moment, I might just have a chance to hurt you. It’s a slim chance I know. But I don’t have any other choice it seems. So if I do or don’t, I will at least give it my all. I’ll give you every piece of energy that I have. All for the slim chance of hurting you.
***Wilson finds his
car. He opens the door and gets
in. Yet he doesn’t close his door just
yet.***
WILSON: It’s all about luck Strick. It’s just that simple. Either your lucky, or your not. So what’s it going to be Strick? Do you feel lucky?
***Wilson closes his door. The car starts. Wilson drives away from the hospital. The scene fades to black.***
