No weapons... No friends...No hope. Take all that away... and what's left?  Yourself.  In the end, you're always by yourself. You're all you've got. That's the point.

--David Dunn (January 22, 2002)

***The scene opens as David Dunn stands before the great SlaughterHouse chamber.  The same chamber that David stepped through before in 2001 to face Greg Dulli.  The same chamber that David placed Ken Jansen and Trent Shanahan in for their match in 2002.  Now 2003, the chamber has been set up once again for the match everyone has been waiting for, Chris Carrington vs. David Dunn.  So David stands there.  Looking onward to the chamber, the cell, the death trap that David built with his own two hands.  He looks on it thinking about all the history of this match.  All the lives that have been changed because of this chamber, because of this SlaughterHouse.***

DUNN:  Look at it Chris…look at your fame.  Sunday night when you and I step into this house were going to steal the show.  Strick wins the world title, Staggs gets killed, Quark shoves a bat in someone’s ass…no ones going to care.  Our match is what everyone is going to talk about.  Our match is what people are going to remember at the end of the year when they think of who had the best match.  Who beat the hell out of each other for nothing more than pride.  Our match is going to raise the standards in the SWF.  Why?  Because I know for a fact that both you and I are going to beat the living shit out of one another.  Were not going to stop for breaks or to sign autographs.  There’s no time outs in this chamber Chris.  Oh course I sense you know that.  I sense that you think your ready for this chamber, this SlaughterHouse…but your not.  You know why I said this?  Because neither was I when I step foot into this place.

***David grabs hold of the SlaughterHouse and shakes the chamber.***

DUNN:  This thing changed my life.  It raised the bar for me.  Because when I stepped out of it…I was bloody, I was beaten, I was almost dead.  I went to the edge and laughed.  My life isn’t the only one that was changed.  Greg Dulli never recovered from it.  His career ended in this chamber.  He thought he was ready…just like you think your ready…of course this was just one man, two if you include myself right?  Wrong.  When I became president of the BJWC I two men wanted to step up to that edge like I did.  Two men that hated one another more than life itself.  So I gave them their chance.  I let them walk that edge…it wasn’t pretty.  In fact it was a match that was filled with pain and sorrow more than one of your family reunions.  Maybe you should talk to Ken Jansen, Trent Shanahan, and Greg Dulli before you decide that you’re ready for this chamber.  I’ll give you their home phone numbers, there address, whatever you want Chris.  I just want to make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into.

***David releases the chamber as blood drips off his hands from the barbwire.***

DUNN:  As I’ve said before Chris…your going to be alone in here.  For the first time in your life your going to be alone.  No brother, no trainer, your friends, no hope.  Just yourself.  In that moment your going to see if you have what it takes to be alive.  In that moment you’re not going to think about pain or sorrow, all your going to think about is survival.  I will open your eyes Chris.  I will open them to see that this isn’t a fuck game.  This isn’t about Nate Crow or Chris Carey.  This is about helping you come to terms with reality.  It isn’t going to be a pretty road Chris.  Blood will drip from both of our bodies…we will be fighting more than just pride but our very lives.  At the end of this match one of us isn’t going to be walking out by our own power.  Could be me.  Could be you.  Sunday will tell the tail.  If I lose I lose.  It’s just that simple.  At least I knew I opened your eyes to the reality of everything, and everyone.  I can live with that.

***David wipes the blood off his hands with his black jeans.***

DUNN:  On the other hand, I could win.  If that happens I really feel sorry for you.  For not only have you let yourself down but you proved not one but two of my points.  That I could beat both Carrington brothers in one week, and you weren’t ready for my reality.  I don’t want that though.  I want you to step into my world Chris.  I want you to forget everything Nate told you about the world and about his reality.  His world, his reality, is filled with hate, pain, sorrow, it’s an emotionless void Chris.  You say that I’m weak because I love my wife.  That I love this business.  Your wrong.  Loving this business and loving my family isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength.  That’s why Strick saved you two weeks ago.  That’s why he saved you last week.  Not because he didn’t want the Carrington family name embarrassed, but because no matter what you’ve done to one another, he still loves you the way a brother should.  What I’m trying to do is show you that when your alone, truly alone Chris.  You learn no matter what, there are people out there that care for you, that love you.  At the same time you’ll learn that in the end of the day you learn what your made of.  But the memory and the feelings of the people close to you remains.  That’s my reality.  When you look in the mirror and know that your alone…but in your heart, you know your not.

***Blood still drips from David’s hands as he rubs them together.***

DUNN:  Don’t get me wrong Chris, pain, hate, sorrow, all that depressing shit is still around.  But it shouldn’t control your life.  It shouldn’t be the building blocks of your world.  Of your reality.  If you keep thinking that way you’ll up just like Nate Crow.  I bet you would like nothing better.  Well let me ask you this…where’s good old Nate Crow now?  Is he here?  No.  Talking to you on the phone doesn’t count either.  Nate Crow is a memory.  A memory of a man that was all about the pain.  All about sorrow and hate.  In the end he self-destructed.  He may be your hero, but look at his past then look at where he’s at now.  A great wrestler no doubt.  Had a passion for hurting people.  Now the only one he’s hurting is himself…well…I guess you can include yourself now.

***David starts to walk away from the SlaughterHouse.  Suddenly he stops and turns back.***

DUNN:  I’m talking to you now kindly, and nicely not to make you think I’m going to take it easy on you.  I meant it when I said one of us isn’t going to walk out by our own power.  I meant it when I said I was going to teach you a lesson you will never forget.  All I’m trying to do is help you better understand and prepare yourself for the most grueling night of your natural life.  I’m going to hurt you…I’m going to beat you until your covered in blood….the only think that might save your ass is the memory of your family.  Love is what gives us the drive Chris.  Love for the business….family…friends…it’s the only thing that keeps you from getting killed in the ring.  Why?  Because in the back of your mind that little voice is yelling to you, ”What happens if your hurt or killed…how are the people that care for you going to react?”  These are the questions that keep you save and make you go that extra mile Chris.  Not pain or money.  Not even a title.  It’s love.

***David turns back around and walks away.***

***FLASH***

***The scene reopens as David is walking up to his summer home in London England.  He seems to be talking on a cell phone.***

DUNN:  Yeah Quark it’s no big deal.  Carey will put us in the tournament no problem.  I mean the money wasn’t the only reason I joined the Inner Sanctum.

***David walks up to his door.  Unlocks it and walks it.  David throws his keys on the table next to the door.  He then proceeds to walk into the living room where he sees Jeannette prompted up on the couch.***

DUNN:  Hi honey.

***David goes back to talking to Quark.***

DUNN:  Look first thing tomorrow morning we’ll sit down and talk about everything.  I know what I’m….hold on…

***David looks over at Jeannette who’s breathing hard.***

DUNN:  You okay honey?

***Jeannette looks at him with sweat dripping off her face.***

JEANNETTE:  No…I….I….think….I’m going into labor…

DUNN:  LABOR!

***David rushes to Jeannette, dropping the cell phone of the phone.  David tries to help Jeannette up.  The scene fades to black.***
