It's just a job. Grass grows,
birds fly, waves pound the sand. I just beat people up.

***The scene opens
with a shot of the sky. The clouds move
through out the sky heading towards only god knows where. The sun shines bright over the earth only
fading moment to moment by passing clouds.
Slowly the scene moves downward upon the earth and a shot at a big
office building. On the side of the
building a sign is placed near the top edge.
The words “Q-94.5 The Rock!” glows bright red from the sign as the scene
moves closer to the building. The scene
moves into the office building. Quickly
it moves up and down hallways, passing room after room until finally coming to
a stop right in front of a room with walls of glass. In side the room we can see a man and a woman sitting down next
to what seems to be radio equipment.
Over there heads hanging on the way we see a red light sign which reads,
“On-Air”. Suddenly the light comes on
and the man starts to speak.***
BROCK: Hello wrestling fans I’m Matt Brock and to
my left is always the lovely Lisa Hunter.
And to the right of me the man of the hour John Murphy.
MURPHY: That be me.
HUNTER: Yes sir.
BROCK: Today were going to be doing an exclusive
with a top-wrestling name in the world.
He’ll be joining us shortly. But
before he enters the building let me run down his history real quick.
***Brock pulls out a
piece of paper and lays in on the desk in front of him.***
BROCK: David started his career in '94 when he joined the
USWA. Within 6 months he had already won every major title in the company
but one, the World championship. In the beginning of '95 David took on
his long time friend Steve Herndez for the world title. After a hard
fought battle David won and because the first grandslam champion in USWA
history. Soon after '96 the USWA closed it's doors and David Dunn was
without a home. But along came the ICW. David was only employed in
the ICW for a period of six months before it closed it doors but David did
become the world champion at one time and met a wrestler that he would become a
bitter enemy towards until this day, Nate Crow. After leaving the ICW
David moved to WEW where his feud with Nate Crow picked up right from the
beginning.
MURPHY: The WEW was a company that he stayed with until
'99, although he never won the world title he was still concerned to be the
best wrestler in the company. But his feud with Nate Crow for many years
pervented him from ever receiving a world title win. After the WEW closed
it's doors David was brought into the BJWC. The BJWC is where David Dunn
became a true legend. He is the only man to win every title in the
company less than one year being employed. He's battles became legendary
as in '01 David became one of the few people in the wrestling world to ever
beat Kurt Swagger. A man many in the wrestling world think as the best
there is or ever will be. Since he left the BJWC in '02 David has been
floating around trying to find a new home to hang his hat. Hopefully he
will find the right company that can challenge his ego and his mind.
BROCK: We have just been informed that David Dunn
has entered the building. I guess we’ll
sit down with him right after this commercial.
***Brock pushes a
button on an electrical consol. The red
light goes off.***
BROCK: So what do you think Lisa?
HUNTER: About what?
BROCK: You know about interviewing David today.
HUNTER: Well just have that censer button ready
that’s all I can say. He’s a loose
canon you know that.
BROCK: No joke.
How he was accepted into the IWF I’ll never know. God don’t people read “work history” when
deciding to hire someone.
HUNTER: Oh shit.
Look who’s walking up to the door.
***David walks into the room and
sits down at an empty seat next to Brock and Hunter. Dunn puts on a set of headphones. He then takes off his sunglasses and places them next to
Hunter.***
BROCK: Hello David.
***The red light
comes on in the studio.***
BROCK: And were back. Now in the studio is the GFF, David Dunn.
DUNN: I see the whole gang came out of this little
conversation. Murphy, I’m glad you
brought some new faces for once. I was
getting tired of talking to you every time one of your friends wanted an
autograph. And Lisa Hunter, no less. You know, Lisa, if I weren’t a happily
married man, I might suggest you and I meet for a more personal
one-on-one. Wait a minute, the bitch is
dead…still wouldn’t want a one-on-one.
HUNTER: And if I weren’t being paid to be here, I
wouldn’t be caught dead talking to you.
DUNN: Ouch.
Murphy, you never told me she had claws.
MURPHY: You should catch her on her lunch break.
BROCK: Okay, it’s obvious that I’m the one who’s
gonna have to get down to business.
You’ve proven to me that you are a legitimate threat to any world title
based on your own physical abilities.
MURPHY: As well as your mental abilities.
HUNTER: HA!
That’s just another way of putting he’s the world’s best back stabber.
DUNN: Watch it.
BROCK: Okay, okay, be nice you two.
MURPHY: David a question we’ve been wondering for a
while is what happened with you leaving the BJWC with the world title and
jumping ship to IWF?
DUNN: That’s an easy one. I felt like it.
BROCK: What do you mean?
DUNN: Meaning that BJWC was dead. On the other hand IWF is a live and
well. I figure I’d show up and make a
name for myself in the IWF seeing it’s new ground to me.
BROCK: Okay what about this week. It seems you got a big match coming up.
DUNN: Do I care?
No. I’ve been in big
matches. This is nothing. All I see it as, is a match to show off my
skill to some of the people who have never witnessed the GFF. Personally I think the IWF roster is
pathetic. You got nothing but second
rate wrestlers trying to be something they’re not…namely me.
HUNTER: As much as I want to be professional and
conduct this interview from an objective standpoint, but…
BROCK: Here we go.
HUNTER: …you make me sick, Dunn. Your whole career I’ve heard you jumping
back and forth. One minute your caring. Another you’re a cocky prick. I wish you would be honest with everyone for
once.
DUNN: Mee-ow!
Damn girl. Really Hunter, I do
it, to screw with your head. You should
know that.
HUNTER: Your such an as(BEEP)le you know that.
MURPHY: Moving right along…your comments this week
brought a sense of confusion. You have
an important first match against seven other men, I think that is correct not
sure. The match you seeming aren’t too
worried about. From my view point it
should be a long hard fought match.
Yet, you seem just not to care.
DUNN: I can go all night if I have to. Just ask Lisa if you don’t believe me.
HUNTER: That’s it!
Guys, you’re going to have to finish this up without me.
***Lisa Hunter abruptly leaves the
room. David laughs for several seconds
before regaining his composure.***
MURPHY: You’re a big hit with the ladies,
David. Any ways, who the hell are these
people your facing?
DUNN: You got me.
Got no clue. I did see some guy
by the name of Ricky Conway on the list, but I could have been mistaken. Really doesn’t matter all that much to
me. Really just look at me. I got the brains, the muscles, and the
willpower to destroy anything and everyone one that stands in my way. I’ll walk through this crack head match with
out a care in the world. Why? Because I just said it was a crack head
match! Dodgeball rumble, god, I went to
Ladder Matches and Cage Matches to a f(BEEP)king dodgeball rumble? Man I’m so depressed.
MURPHY: But David…
DUNN: Shut up man. This interview is done.
***David gets out of
his seat and leaves the room.***
MURPHY: We’ll be right back after this commercial
break
***The scene moves to the parking
lot of the radio station. Once there we
can see David standing next to his truck lighting up a cigarette. David takes a drag out of it and leans back
on the bed.***
DUNN: I know a lot of people are going to be
wondering about everything that I’ve been going through to start over again…how
can I truly be prepared to step into the ring after such a long time. Family problems over welling me at each
passing step…yet one thing has always remain the same. Me.
Through all the problems, through all the time which has passed, my self
and my abilities have always remained the same. No matter how it seems, when the bell rings…who ever…who ever is
standing in front of me…is…point blank dead.
***David walks toward the drivers
side door. He is about to get in when he turns slightly back…***
DUNN: Enough said.
***David gets into
his truck, turns it on, and drives off.
The scene fades to black.***
