(The scene opens up at a TpS TV Taping featuring TpS stars against young local indy wrestlers. The crowd is geared up to see the TpS superstars before the first show on Wendsday. After the last between The Rock and local wrestler Bob Manilow the scene cuts to the backstage area where former NMWA and WCWF superstar Ground Zero is sitting alone in his locker room watching the moniter and relaxing after his match earlier in the night.)
GZ:Yeah?
Voice:GZ, you think you can do an interview for your match this Wednesday?
GZ:Yeah I guess so. Have it set up for after the next match.
(After the following match we cut to a backstage room where Mike Teney and Ground Zero are sitting down. The camera comes in some more and the interview starts.)
Teney:Ladies and Gentlemen I am here tonight with former NMWA World Champion and former NMWA/WCWF Universal champion Ground Zero who has also held many other titles in that company. Anyway Ground Zero has made his way to The People's Show and this Wednesday night he will be facing his arch nemisis if you will, Cyrix Van Gore in the Global championship tournement. Ground Zero you've had countless battles with Cyrix and you've even been in some wars within the confinds of the legendary Cyrix's Domain match. How do you feel about battling with Cyrix again?
GZ:Well Mike, I am sure that everyone that knows anything about professional wrestling knows about the battles me and Cyrix have had so I won't go into detail about that but to be honest, everytime I step in the ring with Cyrix it is an honor. Not only is it an honor because he is known to some as an extreme icon and a future hall of famer but it is an honor to kick his ass. That's right Mike, I said it. I am not going to sit here and blow smoke up Cyrix's ass. I never liked Cyrix Van Gore and I never will. He has done things to me that I can never forgive. He tried to end my career, he kidnapped my wife, my daughter, hell the man is pure evil. To beat Cyrix you have to sink down to his level. You must turn your emotions off. Cyrix has no heart. He doesn't care about anyone or anything and when I get into the ring with him I have to be the same. Cyrix we've had battles over the Xtreme title and whatnot but this is more important. This is for the biggest prize in the business, the TpS Global championship.
Teney:Well GZ with the history between you and Cyrix why do you think the TpS staff has booked this match for the first round of the Tourney?
GZ:Well Teney, it's pretty obvious. Hell a blind man could see why. For one, Cyrix and I have a feud only parallelled by few. Ali/Fraiser, Red Sox/Yankees, Celtics/Lackers. Our feud is on that level and when you put that on your first show you are sure to attract viewers because you are going to see two men nearly kill eachother in that ring. For two, Cyrix and I are two of the biggest names in the company right now so putting us in a match for the belt is only logical. So that is why I think they booked this match for the first round of the Global title tourney.
Teney:Ground Zero, what do you think about Syxx-Pac's claim that you have killed every federation you have been in most recently. You bought the WCWF and it failed. You jumped to the NMWA and just about two weeks ago that folded. He does have a point.
GZ:What point does he have? I said time and time again that WCWF was doomed from that start. I mean I didn't even really take it seriously when I bought it. And the NMWA? Mike Casino knew that the NMWA was in bad shape so in order to spike ratings he brought me in and I spiked the ratings for a while but then they were back in the same shape and set back a few bucks by having to pay my salary. The rest as they say is history. Right now the TpS has a tremendace management team, a locker room full of guys ready to bust their ass, and long term Television deal so I don't see this place going under anytime soon. Further more Mike Teney, who is my opponent this week? Is it Syxx-Pac? No. So let's keep the focus on the task at hand or you can forget about the rest of this interview.
Teney:Alright. My mistake. Now most of your meetings with Cyrix Van Gore have been in No Disqualification or other types of no rules matches or they have been in tag team competition. Very rarely is it that you two fight in a standard match. Does this somehow change your gameplan or force you to change your wrestling style?
GZ:Well Mike, it is very true that most of our encounters have been in some sort of gimmick match or having us team up with someone in tag team competition but on several matches that are not seen on television such as House Shows or out of country tours we have fought in regular matches so not really. If anyone is at a disadvantage in this type of match it is Cyrix. I mean he is the one who is known for hardcore or extreme antics if you will. He is the one who has competed in more extreme matches than anyone so that is really his style. I mean I usually wrestle in standard matches and only had to go to my extreme side when I fight Cyrix in those gimmick matches or when I was in the NMWA's Xtreme title division and when I carried that belt. Other than that like I said I am a technical wrestler. I wrestle inside the ring and that is where I am most comfortable. But to not ramble on, no, it will not really bother me too much and I doubt it will bother my opponent much either.
Teney:Some good points brought up there. Now the last question before let you go, I know you a busy man so I will make this quick...
GZ:Enough with the ass kissing Teney. I have a job to do in this company and you do to. Your job is to ask people like me questions so the people at home get psyched for the matches and tune in to our program. So do your damn job and forget about boasting my ego.
Teney:Fair enough. Do you see yourself coming out on top this Wednesday and if so, who do you see in the tournement bracket that is going to be the most competition for you?
GZ:Well Mike, if I didn't think I'd win I wouldn't have signed for this match and hell I would probably hang up my boots once and for all. You go into every match planning to win and I feel I know Cyrix so good that I will know what he is going to do even before he does it so if that is the case winning shouldn't be too much of a problem but giving credit where credit is due, Cyrix always finds a way to turn his game up a little bit so it may be just another battle in our saga. Either way it will be sure to be a match of the year contender but I will be coming out on top and moving on to capture the Global title. A title I have yet to have the pleasure of holding which right now is at the top of my to-do list.
GZ:As for the second part of your question, Matin Tank has been to the top of the NMWA mountain before so he can definatly bring it, I hear that Bastian Balley or "B2" fella is a hell of an athlete so whether it be him or Rigimortis to take that match either of them are going to be a challenge and really anybody in this tournement will be competition. If not they shouldn't be in the bracket for the most prized championship in our sport at this time. So whoever I will have to face down the road I look forward to the match but right now I have to concentrate on Cyrix Van Gore and get through him first. After that I can look ahead and give you a little more insight.
Teney:Well Ground Zero thank you for your time and I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming bout and I am sure you will put on a hell of a show for all of us. Thanks again.
(Ground Zero nods his head and then sits up and shakes Mike Teney's hand before getting up and leaving. The camera then gets one last shot of Mike Teney and then the scene fades to black and we go to a commercial break first starting with a commercial for this Wednesday's show.)
(Thanks for the banner BTW.)
