A friend in need is a friend indeed
Welcome to HARD TIME! I am the one and only host of this show, Shep Taylor, and boy do we have a great show lined up for you this week. We are looking forward to this week's installment due in part to the HUGE approval of the first episode that aired last week, so lets get right down to business.
First, I'd like to introduce a new segment this week on Hard Time, a segment I like to call DOING HARD TIME! For that segment, I will have a sit down interview, here in studio with a superstar from the All-Pro Wrestling roster. And it brings me great pleasure to announce that the first guest will be none other than ... THE GAME, Triple H !
This weeks edition of Raw Impact came packed with lots of action inside the ring and outside the ring as well. Matt Hardy was being hunted down by the IRS, Stone Cold and Kurt Angle went face to face, Bret Hart even attacked Rey Mysterio before his match started. It was also announced that there would be a Fatal Four Way Match at Over the Edge, with both the Television AND European Titles being put on the line. Also the three participants in the World Title Match were named, and there was lots of talk backstage between the superstars and the Over and Out Rumble that will take place as well. All this and more went down this week on Raw Impact, so lets get to the highlights ...
Rhino vs John Bradshaw Layfield
This match was suited the powerful styles of both JBL and Rhino, but in the end it was Rhino got the victory with a hellacious gore on JBL. With the victory also came a number Seven ranking in the Top Ten Rankings for Rhino.
Rey Mysterio vs Christian
Rey Mysterio came out the winner in this fast paced match, which saw Mysterio flying through the air for much of the match. Eventually Rey hit the 619 and then Dropped Da Dime on Christian for the victory.
Matt Hardy vs Bret Hart
A technical wrestling fans dream match here, Matt Hardy and Bret Hart traded moves in this match back and forth. Matt Hardy nailed the leg drop off the top rope, which saw him capitalize and led to the Twist of Fate for the victory in an impressive showing for both Bret Hart and Matt Hardy!
Batista vs Justin Credible
This match was dominated by Batista and his overwhelming power. Justin Credible couldn't manage to escape the power of Batista a few times, finally with Batista nailing a HUGE spinebuster that he followed up with a Sit Down Powerbomb for the victory.
Steve Austin vs Lance Storm
What a match this was, back and forth for the entire match. The finish came when Kurt Angle came out to ringisde, distracting Stone Cold of all people. Angle then dropped Austin over the top rope, and then Lance Storm capitalized with a roll through into the Canadian Maple Leaf. Austin almost made it to the ropes, but eventually tapped out to the submission. The victory was a much needed one for Storm who had been on a losing streak as of late, so look for Lance Storm to be making a bounce back of sorts this week.
Sting vs Eddie Guerrero
Eddie Guerrero was never in this match from the opening bell. Sting had control for the majority of the match, finally catching Eddie in a bad spot when Guerrero went for the Frog Splash and MISSED! Sting got up to his feet and signalled the end for Guerrero as he locked in the Scorpion Death Lock, forcing Eddie to tap out. An impressive win for Sting.
Kurt Angle vs Shane Douglas
Kurt Angle returned to the APW ring this week and was victorious in his first match against Shane Douglas. The early part of the match was controlled by Douglas, who went for a Franchiser but Kurt managed to counter into an Olympic Slam, and then got the cover for the win. Great match by both, look for both Angle and Douglas to make some noise on Raw Impact next week.
Chris Jericho vs Carlito
This match was for the Number One Contender spot to the Television Title, so the stakes were high in this one. This match had everything, a bit of interference from Jesus, and Carlito even got to spit his apple in the face of Y2J. But somehow Y2J managed to fight through it all when he couldn't see, and nailed Carlito with the Breakdown and got the win. Jericho was named the Number One Contender, but Carlito got the Number Ten ranking in this weeks Top Ten Rankings!
Triple H vs Ric Flair
Triple H came into this match looking to do two things, send out a message to the rest of APW that he is ready for his World Title Shot at Over the Edge, and The Game was also out to put an end to the undefeated streak of one Ric Flair. Well Triple H sent the message that he was ready to be in that World Title Match at Over the Edge, but The Dirtiest Player in the game managed to keep his undefeated streak alive and pick up the win. Both Flair and Triple H placed in the Top Ten Rankings, with Flair picking up the number Six spot and Triple H picking up the number Seven spot. Great job by both in this match.
Randy Orton vs John Cena
Two of the top young superstars here in APW were going at it in this one. Orton being the World Champion, and John Cena looking to make a name for himself since returning from jail. This was a back and forth match with John Cena getting a close two and three quarters count after a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena managed to re-group and nail Orton with an F-U to get the victory. For his victory, John Cena picked up the number Five ranking in the Top Ten. Randy Orton also placed in the Top Ten, picking up the number Eight spot.
The Main Event - Tag Team Championship Match
Strange Days vs The Darkside
What a match this was, and a Main Event that will forever be remembered in Raw Impact history. Strange Days captured the Tag Team Titles after Chris Benoit brought a 15 FOOT LADDER into the ring, and delivered a MASSIVE German Suplex to Mark Jindrak from the TOP OF THE LADDER! This match was so great that it earned Match of the Week honors, and it also placed all four members in this match in the Top Ten Rankings, with Raven getting the number One spot, Benoit in the number Two spot, Undertaker in the number Three spot, and Mark Jindrak getting the number Four spot. Congratulations goes out to both teams in this epic and hard fought battle.
After a hard fought victory over The Darkside, Strange Days captured the Tag Team Titles just a week after it was announced that the Million Dollar Title had been dropped and replaced by Tag Team Gold! Strange Days captured the Tag Team straps by putting on a hellacious match against The Darkside, which saw them win with a GIANT german suplex performed by Chris Benoit on Mark Jindrak from the top of a fifteen foot ladder. That was the most impressive sight that many APW fans have seen in a long time, and it will forever hold a place in the vaults of some of the greatest matches to EVER happen on Raw or Raw Impact. However after the match, the new Tag Team Champs were attacked by Angel and Justin Credible, who were out to send a message that Strange Days aren't the only Tag Team worthy of holding those Tag Team Titles. Just whats going to happen between these two teams is still yet to be figured out, but make no doubt about it, Raw Impact next week will be full of more surprises for the Tag Team Champs!
Shep Taylor :
Welcome to DOING HARD TIME .. And my guest at this time is NON OTHER than The Game, Triple H! Welcome to Doing Hard Time Triple H, it's a pleasure to have you here.
Triple H :
You're damn right it's a pleasure, you're finally in the presence of an APW Legend! You better be DAMN happy to have me here.
Shep Taylor :
Alright Hunter, now lets talk about your past here in APW. You've been pretty successful since you stepped through the doors into All-Pro Wrestling. What do you think is the main factor that plays a large part in you being successful?
Triple H :
The main factor? I'm Triple H, I'm the most dominant figure in sports entertainment. That's the main factor. The fact that none of these others curtain jerkers can keep up with a man of my stature.
Shep Taylor :
Now you've been part of some big matches here in APW, the Epic Eliminations Match, and a few intense Television Title defenses. What would you say to this point so far is your biggest match that you have been part of?
Triple H :
Without a doubt, all of them. From the match where I knocked Shawn Michaels out cold and gave him his first loss, to a few weeks ago when I defeated the man who just recently lost a title match, Lance Storm. And everything in between. The first ever Television Title defense, and as much as I hate to say it, the Epic Eliminations match. Even though I got screwed, I still dominated EVERYBODY in that ring. I still showed them all that this Game is damn sure not over, and it won't be over, for a long, long time.
Shep Taylor :
Now speaking of that Epic Eliminations Match, there has been some contraversy as to whether or not you were truly "screwed" in that match. But none the less, the end has resulted in you recieving a World Title Shot at Over the Edge. Do you feel that in some ways being "screwed" at Ring of Dreams was the reason you got this World Title shot?
Triple H :
Over The Edge, there is no way in hell that Over the Edge would sell any tickets, if the Game wasn't in the World Title match. Nobody can put asses in the seats like I can. And reguardless of the turnout of the Epic Eliminaitons match, I was sure to have a World Title match at Over the Edge. Surely, it would be much better, and probably sold out, if I would be defending the belt, but that's just another stick in the road, and I, plan on taking that stick, that World Heavyweight Championship, and placing it around my own waist. Being screwed has nothing to do with it, I was either going to be defending, or winning the World Title at Over The Edge, and everybody knew it.
Shep Taylor :
Now switching over to a more PERSONAL question, how is the relationship with yourself and Carmella?
Triple H :
How do you think it's going? You think it's going bad? You think we're going to break up? She wouldn't dare. I'm the most highly paid athlete on the planet, and she's getting some of that money everytime we go out, everytime we get physical. No, that's not why she sticks around. She sticks around because the name Hunter Hearst Helmsley, can't help but bring people in. It doesn't matter if it's people to a show, or girls to the hotel room. But with Carmella, she came in the room, and never left. And personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Shep Taylor :
Fair enough. Now back to Over the Edge, and the rumored match is going to be a Triple Threat Match for the World Title. Now Randy Orton will obviously be in that match, and you've been named as yet another participant in that match. However the third and final name hasn't been announced just yet. Is there anything you can tell us here or any sort of word you've caught wind of in regards to just who the third wrestler is going to be in that match?
Triple H :
Does it matter? Does it really fucking matter? Triple H, Randy Orton, World Title. We know the outcome already. Sure, there will be a third person, and hell, I might even know who it is. But what's the point in telling you, when we already know that at Over the Edge, The Game, The Cerebral Assassin, is walking out the World Champion. No matter if the third person is Carlito, Jericho, John Cena or Mae Young. I'm walking out the belt, and that's that.
Shep Taylor :
Well Hunter, unfortunately thats all the time we have for this interview today. We here at Hard Time would like to thank you for being the first person to do a sit down interview. And best of luck to you in your title match at Over the Edge.
Triple H :
I don't need luck, you know why?
Shep Taylor :
Why?
Triple H :
Because I Am The Game And I Am THAT .. DAMN .. GOOD!
Triple H takes a sip of his water and then SPITS right in the face of Shep Taylor. Disgusted, Shep Taylor calls for a commercial break ...
Alright, another week, another show. I'd like to take this time to once again thank Triple H for dropping by for an interview, and spewing the water in my face. Raw Impact next week will see LOADS of matches that have the number THREE in it. There's going to be a Three on Three tag team match, featuring all four of the participants taking place in the match that was announced last week at Over The Edge, and there will be TWO Triple Threat Matches as well. Lots of action coming your way this week on Raw Impact, LIVE from the O'Neill Center in Danbury, Conneticut. Until next week folks, I'm Shep Taylor, and it's been a pleasure DOING HARD TIME !
