Steve "Savior" Twist
Nickname: The White Phoenix
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 229 lbs
Bio: Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan Steve had learned to like sports from a very young age. In the beginning during his Elementary School years he often played soccer and even had his team go to the State Championship Game one season, but unfortunately they lost that game and took second. This didn't please Steve whatsoever and he started to get away from soccer and moved onto hockey. Despite most kids starting much younger then him Steve was able to catch on right away and by only his third season was playing on travel teams, most of them very successful ones. During this time Steve continued to do well in school and had sort of an awkward social life due to being on the road so much for hockey. Luckily for him he was able to get used to this life then because in the coming years road travel would play a major role in the sport he would soon be finding himself interested in. After having played close to 10 seasons of hockey (fall and spring) Steve decided that he was going to try and continue to play until College, but at the age of 17 Steve was leveled and left with a career ending neck injury. The reason it was career ending was not because his neck was damaged too severely, but instead because with the time he would end up missing his odds of getting into College and playing hockey for them were abysmal. Steve tried anyway and found himself to be unsuccessful which upset him unlike anything had done before so instead of going into College right after high school Steve decided to take some time off and find something better to devote his athletic ability to then hockey which had, in his mind, screwed him over.
Not one to sit at home for long periods of time thanks to all the travel he had done while playing hockey Steve decided to go out in search of adventure and something to do. Canada was the first option Steve thought about, but he didn't really wanted to be reminded of hockey so much by going up to a country where it was extremely popular so instead Steve headed east to explore along the New England area. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for Steve he ended up going the wrong direction after he hit New York and started to go down along the eastern coast of the United States instead. Once again Steve was in a pretty bad mood thanks to this turn of events, but amazingly he found the town where he was staying for that night had a pro-wrestling show going on. Now Steve had heard of wrestling and how it was fake along with all that other BS everyone says, but he had never really watched it before. Steve decided to attend the show and after some uneventful opening matches one match really caught his eye between two of the better wrestlers in the world currently. Another thing caught someone's eye too, and that was Steve who caught none other than Dan Tritan's eye who was managing Ray "The Standard" Stevens currently. Normally Dan wouldn't give most people the time of day, especially after having been in a match in Japan where a horrible accident occurred which kept Dan away from actually wrestling ever again. Even then Dan was only there for a one night appearance and the crowd booed the shit out of him because most fans thought the accident had been intentional on Tritan's part. Of course the company had brought Tritan in to get heat for it and paid him a good amount of money, but the man clearly was uncomfortable at the show. When he saw Steve though things started to turn around and after the match and during intermission for the show Dan approached Steve asking him if he had ever thought about wrestling or was a wrestler already even.
Obviously the answer Steve gave was that he hadn't and Dan started to ask Steve some more questions, like how Steve had the great physical appearance he did. At the time Steve was still very much built for playing hockey as an enforcer and was around 6'2" tall and weighed in about 240 which was a lot for a hockey player. Steve and Dan continued to chat once the show had began and stood back near the bleachers instead of going back to where Steve had been sitting in the floor seats which he had miraculously got by buying a ticket at a pretty low price from someone outside because their friend couldn't come at the last minute. Luckily the show was captivating enough to the fans in the arena to keep them from noticing Dan as usually he would be met with less then good intentioned people. Either way both Steve and Dan continued to watch the show which ended up being very good while still talking about how interested Steve was in becoming a wrestler. Steve told Dan that he hadn't thought about it, but the problem was that Steve lived in Michigan, not here out in the east like he figured Dan did. "Well isn't that a damn shame for you son 'cause I live in Michigan too" Dan told Steve somewhat as a joke and somewhat as the truth. Of course the reason it was partially the truth was because now Dan was determined to do whatever was necessary to get Steve to become a wrestler, Steve just didn't know this yet. Once the show ended the two parted ways and exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses so they could keep in contact with each other. Steve continued on his vacation after this, but once he came back to Michigan he had decided to give Dan a call and his training began there at the age of 18.
The training Steve underwent was long and rigorous as Dan knew exactly what it took to be a great wrestler. He even made Steve practice promos when he was too tired to continue for the day so Steve's speaking ability would improve and help him impress wrestling companies. This wasn't the greatest experience for Steve in this field, but at least it gave him a start as he continued to improve his skills. Dan also had quite a bit of money stored from his career although his house, pick-up truck, and damn near everything else he owned were piles of crap. This money had its purpose though, and that ended up being to take Steve to many different federations, mostly for one night performances, where Steve would slowly hone his in-ring skills. Dan obviously had a plan for Steve, but the young wrestling sensation also had some plans of his own. He had still wanted to attend College which he did at some little College in Michigan so it wouldn't interfere with his career which Dan was already saying would skyrocket in no time. Of course the years passed and Steve's career didn't quite take off although most of it was the fault of Dan who was only going to allow Steve to work for the best damn federation he could find. By the time he was 22 Steve was getting a little fed up with Dan, but he only had another year of College to go and knew that after that he would really be able to make it somewhere big, or hoped he would. That year passed with little time, but Steve was still just being taken around to various promotions and tried out. Almost everywhere he went the fans found themselves liking Steve whether he was supposed to be portraying a heel or a face. Finally, Steve just decided to be a face wherever he went since the fans treated him like one. This would have been fine except for the fact Steve was far from a traditional face. Somehow it ended up working though as the fans continued to cheer Steve and his high flying antics along with the technical wrestling he threw in.
Finally, at the age of 23 Steve told Dan to get the hell out of his life and let Steve find his own way. Dan was just on the verge of a breakthrough in an amazing deal with Japan this time, but Steve was just plain annoyed with how long he had been stuck going from place to place, some which he liked, and Dan deciding that the federation wasn't good enough for him. Dan didn't take the news very well at all and before it was all said and done Steve and he got into a fight which Steve walked away from the victor, but just barely. That day was only a single day after Steve finally got out of College and is one that both Steve and Dan will remember forever. Shortly after having started out on his own Steve heard of a new federation opening called the BTWF. At first Steve wasn't too impressed due to it coming about thanks to the defunct GWF which was a huge disappointment to everyone who had been hoping for a true Gaia wrestling federation, but after a few looks Steve finally decided to see about getting a deal with the BTWF. At the time Steve was a bit larger then now at about 250, but he wasn't exactly what the owner at the time, Maxwell Conners or HBK, had wanted. Steve was determined though and went up in weight even more to where he was quite the individual to mess with. This saw Conners hiring Steve for a good amount of money that has gone up now with Steve having become bigger in the BTWF and also the change of ownership that took place at BloodBath. The original BloodBath also had the debut of Steve who went against "The Man of 1000 holds" Omega and ended up passing out in the Omega Prison due to blood loss and the pain Steve could no longer take after almost four and a half minutes of the hold being applied perfectly. Soon after this match Steve went down in size, way down in fact as he felt his in-ring work slipping due to the massive amount of weight he had gained. By the time his Payback Ladder Match with Omega rolled around Steve was actually down to about 240 although he was still announced as being 270.
Steve would continue to go down in weight little by little after he was able to finally capture the Gaia Championship in that match and finished his feud with Omega a month later at the first Tournament of Gods. Steve won the third match in their series which was a Submission Match and Omega would soon after leave the BTWF for a long while. This led Steve to defending against the Gaia Championship against others including Jack Frost, Rocky, Hell's Guardian, The Punisher (who would later become Bryan Kutterman), and Raymond Kage. These opponents were all good, but not good enough to beat Steve who was truly a dominant champion in every sense of the word. Many argue that he was even able to bring the Gaia Championship up to the level of the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship by the time his reign ended in September. Why did his reign end though? Was there really someone who finally beat Steve who held that Gaia Championship for an astounding 128 days? No, there was no such man to do that. Steve instead decided to drop the title on September 7th in favor of going for the biggest title in the company in a match that would be deemed a dream match at Eternity for good reason. Steve Twist vs. Big Daddy was the biggest face vs. biggest heel in BTWF history, not to mention BD had held the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship almost nonstop since BloodBath. In a match that went roughly 50 minutes at Eternity Steve was able to finally beat Big Daddy with the Tranquility, a Shooting Star Leg Drop, and proclaim that he was finally the best damn wrestler in the BTWF even though he had been seen as one of them for a long time now.
Thus was born Steve "Savior" Twist who proclaimed himself the Savior of the BTWF thanks to having wiped out Big Daddy's reign of terror in a single night while others had tried many times over the last few months and weren't able to do a single thing about it. His reign as BTWF World Heavyweight Champion would include a title defense against his partner Xunkai, as well as one against The Tiger, before Steve would end up meeting an old rival by the name of Omega. Now the stage was set for the biggest rematch in BTWF history and it would take place in HELL IN A CELL. The match between these two was brutal and also in the end left Steve partially crippled after he had broken his leg when one of the panels on the top of the cell suddenly collapsed and made him and Omega plummet to the ring below. Of course Steve wasn't so easy to give up, but once Omega ended up putting him into the Omega Prison there was no choice but for Steve to tap out, otherwise his career might be in danger. The months after that saw Steve taking a break from wrestling to nurse his leg back to health. Once he was about ready to get back he started working out some at Dan Tritan's again as during his time with PCW in the summer while he was still the BTWF Gaia Champion Steve and Dan had patched things up between themselves, but their relationship was still at about the level of dysfunctional. Also during that time Steve would wear the PCW X-Division Championship for 89 days before PCW changed to ACW and Steve dropped the title. Only a week after that Steve would leave ACW and never come back to the federation which would die out over the next half a year.
After a long wait Steve finally was able to make his arrival back into the BTWF at BTWF Civil War which took place the day after Steve's 25th birthday. In this match Steve pulled out many new tricks he had added to his arsenal as well as some old ones until he was finally able to make it to the final three with Darson Grays and Riona Langly. Before Steve was able to eliminate either of them however his own tag team partner from SnX, Xunkai, came out to the ring to help Steve since Steve had to have been tired especially after being out for a couple of months due to his leg. Steve told Xunkai that he would be fine, but a moment later Xunkai would nail Steve with the X-Flip and eliminate his former partner leaving only Darson and Riona left in a match that Steve could have very easily won. The next night Steve found that the real mastermind behind Xunkai's betrayal was Austin Azure who was eliminated by Steve in the Civil War match. Those two would go on to form Empty Promises, but another month would pass before Steve would have a chance for revenge. Instead Steve decided to ask/tell Brian Blade to put him in the Legacy of Supremacy ME because of how he was screwed in the Civil War match, and also because he wanted to finally deal out some revenge to Omega. Blade refused at first, but when Steve was given time for a Tale of the Tape segment which he had made famous over the past year in the BTWF he interviewed Darson Grays who ended up getting in a verbal argument with Steve over the match. Each had good points and the fans couldn't really decide which to agree with, but finally Blade decided to step in and make the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship match at LoS a Triple Threat pitting Omega who was the champion against Darson Grays AND Steve Twist. This pleased all parties except Omega, but Blade said it was either that or he would strip Omega of the BTWF Championship and it would be Darson Grays vs. Steve Twist in the ME.
Omega decided better then to lose his title that way so he was in for the match which would go an epic length of 68 minutes and see Darson Grays be crowned the new BTWF World Heavyweight Champion. Steve Twist wouldn't even end up being involved in the fall since he was shoved off the top rope by Darson after going for a career threatening Top Rope Burning Hammer on Omega. When Steve fell to the outside he landed hard on his head and neck, but luckily didn't have extensive damage. The next few weeks wouldn't end up going very well for Steve either as Austin Azure and Xunkai along with the newest member of Empty Promises, Revision, would take Steve out in a three on one attack. Steve fired back however and managed to get Riona Langly of all people to help him since his friends list in the business had been cut down to maybe three people. Riona and Steve managed to wound EP slightly and ended up challenging them to a match at Payback. The thing is when two people with egos like Steve and Riona partner up things start to turn a little crazy as it did in the Tale of the Tape the week following where Twist and Riona took possibly more shots at each other then their opponents for Payback (2005). When they ended up facing Austin and Xunkai though it turned out they were all business and the Twist/Langly team managed to pull out a win when Riona made Xunkai tap to the Painkiller. The night wouldn't end well for Riona and Steve though as Riona would get locked in the Shattered Destiny by Azure since Steve had earlier been dropped on his still not fully recovered neck with the Silver Thunder Spiral from EP.
Redemption had seemed sweet for only a moment before that sense of victory was washed away from Steve and Riona. Now they were back under the gun and each had their own way of dealing with what had happened at Payback. Riona decided to go after Austin Azure while Steve went after who he had been looking for revenge against since the start of this whole feud at Civil War, Xunkai. A 6-Person Elimination Tag on Madness made this revenge seem closer in reach, but even when Steve eliminated Xunkai he had a feeling of emptiness that only grew more when Xunkai came back into the match and nailed Steve with a kendo stick shot to deny Steve's team not only the victory in the match, but also allow Austin Azure to eliminate Steve shortly after with the Azure Driver II. Far from being fulfilled Steve took matters into his own hands after this and in the backstage area he challenged Xunkai to a Taped Fist Match at BloodBath '05. Of course being the cocky little bastard he is Xunkai agreed quickly before he and Steve ended up giving the other a preview right in the back which was broken up shortly so there would still be a meaning to the match when it came time for it. At BloodBath '05 Steve's revenge seemed like it would be a bloody and sweet one as he dominated Xunkai for most of the Taped Fist Match which saw both men destroying the other. In the end however, Steve ended up finding himself on the losing end of the match as Xunkai used salt to rub into Steve's wounds while applying an STF that made Steve have no choice but to tap out seen as how he was blinded by the salt and blood in his eyes and was in a great deal of pain. Xunkai passed out from blood loss shortly after the end of this match, but once again Steve had been denied everything that he thought he would finally achieve so he could get on with what he truly likes to do, that being wrestling.
Stubbornness in a person is sometimes a fault, but it can also lead to opportunities which Steve was determined to create for himself now. The former Gaia and BTWF World Heavyweight Champion found a way to do just this by attacking Xunkai with a barbed wire kendo stick and making one last challenge that would make sure everything was settled between these two who were once friends and had now turned into bitter enemies. That challenge is one that neither Steve or Xunkai will ever forget as it was for a Barbed Wire Ropes Match at ToG II. While Steve had been in one of these matches before and this would be only the second of it's kind in the BTWF no one figured the hate both men had going into this match would explode quite the way it ended up doing so. Brutal is far too kind of a word to describe the violence and pain both men inflicted on each other through any means possible in this match, including Xunkai doing a Double Stomp from the ring apron onto a barbed wire chair that was positioned on the face of Steve and the sadistic Steve Twist using a flaming barbed wire hockey stick to hit Xunkai in the chest with a slapshot that was heard around the world. This match would end with the two bloody individuals tangled in the remains of a flaming barbed wire board thanks to Steve hitting Xunkai with a One Armed Burning Hammer through this flaming barbed wire board. With vengeance finally sealed and Xunkai out of the BTWF for an unknown amount of time Steve could finally rest easy, or at least until the next Madness. When Austin Azure announced that he would leave his Gaia Championship shot to anyone who wanted it Steve decided to capitalize on this opportunity so he could finally wrestle again without crazy stipulations. His opponent, Revision, made sure not to let Steve just get away with challenging him though and took a few shots at the severely injured shoulder of Steve before lecturing the former Gaia Champion. Now the match between these two is set for Madness: Night of Champions IV and no matter who wins it will have big consequences on the ongoing feud between Steve and Empty Promises.

*"Bruises" by Skindred begins to play as Steve steps out from the back, looking out upon the arena with a grin on his face. The fans, as always, begin to cheer him loudly as he makes his way down the entrance ramp and to the ring. Some people along the way shout some obscenities at him but they go unnoticed thanks to the noise of the rest of the crowd. Once down to the ring Steve enters by rolling under the bottom rope before jumping up to his feet and letting the hood of his vest fly back off of his head. He throws his arms out to the side before taking his vest off and handing it to the official and going over to his designated corner to get ready for the start of the match.*

Signature Moves:
Unexpected Happenings – Standing behind the victim who is dazed the attacker runs at them and flips over them, hooking the victim’s arms in the process, and driving the victim down head and face first into the mat.
720 Legacy - A 720 DDT. The attacker starts on the ring apron, facing the ring, and does a 180 as the jump up onto the top rope. From there the attacker jumps off, doing another 180, and grabbing the victim in a front facelock in midair. From there the attacker hits the victim with a 360 DDT to complete the move and drive the victim's head into the mat.
Absolute Atonement - A vicious Spike Tigerbomb that sees the opponent landing directly on their head and neck. The victim is set into a Standing Head Scissors and their arms hooked by the attacker before being hoisted up and quickly slammed to the ground.
Zodiac Suplex - A Half Tiger Half Dragon Suplex
Blue Thunder Driver - The attacker is behind the victim and places his head under the victim's arm before picking them up as if going for a Back Suplex. Once the victim is up though the attacker places their free arm under the near leg of the victim and with them held spins around, doing a 180, before dropping the opponent down into a sit-out Powerbomb.
Skull BUSTAH - A Reverse Pedigree into a Skullfucker (x5). The attacker is in front of the victim and places the victim into a reverse standing head scissors. From here the attacker hooks the victims arms before jumping up into the air and down onto their knees, driving the victim's head into the mat. After the attacker keeps the victim in the head scissors and proceeds to place their hands on the ground before pushing themselves up and down and smashing the victim's head into the ground five more times.
Finishers:
Twister - With his opponent behind him facing the same direction as him Steve puts his arm up around their neck, laying their head on his shoulder. (Usually done from a standing start) Steve jumps up onto the nearest second rope and springboards off of it, turning 180 degrees in the air so he is facing the parallel set of ropes. Steve does this during his decent to the ground and lands in a sitting position with the opponent landing on their knees.
Ganso Bomb - (Powerbomb Piledriver) The attacker lifts the victim up onto their shoulders from a standing head scissors and lets the victim hang down while holding the victim's waist. With the victim positioned vertical to the ground the attacker drops down to their knees and drives the victim down onto their head and neck on the ground.
Burning Hammer - The attacker stands behind the victim before bending down and placing his arm between the victim's legs and hooking the near leg of the victim. The attacker also has the victim's head/neck which he hooks with his other arm and then brings them up onto his shoulders so they are facing up. From here the attacker takes the victim and pushes the victim's legs over his head as he drops down with their head/neck still hooked by his arm. The move is then finished as the attacker drives the victim head first into the ground.
Rare Finishers:
The Unjust Sanctity - A Top Rope Reverse Gory Special Piledriver. The victim is set up onto the top turnbuckle so they are facing away from the ring and their legs are on the outside of the ring as the attacker goes out to the ring apron and climbs up the turnbuckles from the outside. Once on the top the attacker picks the victim up to their feet and puts them into a reverse standing head scissors while hooking the victim’s arms before turning and setting them up into a Reverse Gory Special. The attacker then acts like they are taking a step forward before falling straight down off the top turnbuckle into the Reverse Gory Special Piledriver.
Tranquility - Shooting Star Leg Drop
