The air of the Barton Arena is literally humming with excitement, a rush of electricity seeming to run through the crowd due to the sheer fact that the biggest Pay-Per-View of BTWF history is about to begin. The Barton Arena is filled to capacity, and there are quite a few extra friends smuggled in, sitting on each other's laps, just to get to see this once-in-a-lifetime event. Suddenly, the lights dim, and the crowd erupts into a cheer never heard before in this arena's walls. The arena is plunged into almost sheer blackness, but the crowd is comforted by the sounds of the opening rhythmic guitar strums of Eternity's entrance theme, "All My Life" by Foo Fighters. Suddenly, the intro starts, and the crowd calms down slightly.
All my life I've been searching for something
Something never comes, never leads to nothing
Nothing satisfies, but I'm getting close
Closer to the prize at the end of the road
All night long I dream of the day
When it comes around then it's taken away
Leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most
Feel it come to life when I see your ghost...
The arena is suddenly bathed in golden lights as sparkling yellow pyrotechnics fly down from the arena's roof to a set above the ring, accompanied by huge cheers from the crowd. The first verse cuts in, the voice of Foo Fighter's lead singer almost drowning out the crowd.
Come down, don't you resist
You have such a delicate wrist
And if I give it a twist
Something to hold when I lose my breath
Will I find something in that?
So give me just what I need
Another reason to bleed
One by one hidden up my sleeve
One by one hidden up my sleeve...
As the song hits its chorus, more golden pyro shoots down from the BarTron, and, with the use of some new and very expensive technology, begins to spiral around the ring, each one floating on top of the other, widening the spiral, until there is a literal golden tornado of fireworks above the ring.
HEEEYYY DON'T LET IT GO TO WASTE!!!
I LOVE IT, BUT I HATE THE TASTE!!!
WEEEIIIGHT KEEPING ME DOOOWWWN!!!!!
HEEEYYY DON'T LET IT GO TO WASTE!!!
I LOVE IT, BUT I HATE THE TASTE!!!
WEEEIIIGHT KEEPING ME DOOOWWW-OOOWWWN!!!!!
The crowd merely stares in awe at the show of pyrotechnics before them, then gasp as the golden fireworks shoot off back to the sets along the roof, showers of golden sparks now flying up from the turnbuckles of the ring as golden pyro shoots up from the top of the entrance ramp as the song moves to its second verse.
Will I find a believer?
Another one who believes?
Another one to deceive?
Over and over down on my knees
If I get any closer
And if you open up wide
And if you let me inside
On and on, I got nothin' to hide
On and on, I got nothin' to hide...
The pryo finally starts to fade away as the song hits its chorus once again, the crowd still cheering.
The song finally fades out and the lights of the arena switch from golden to their normal white, and the crowd starts to calm down, sitting back down in their seats and begin to speak with each other about the upcoming event. Suddenly, the BarTron goes black, but suddenly, we hear footsteps thumping through the sound system. After a few moments, the clink of a chain being pulled is heard, and a light turns on in the image coming from the BarTron, revealing we're in a dark room. The light illuminates the only occupant of the room, the one and only President and CEO of the Barton Town Wrestling Federation, Brian Blade. He smirks at the camera, the usual grin on his face, but seems to grow a bit serious after a moment, opening his mouth to speak.
"They said it couldn't be done... They said that it wouldn't last... And tonight, we can laugh at those that said these things. 6 months ago, the Barton Town Wrestling Federation began a journey... A journey on a long and winding path that has no end in sight. We've experienced dangers, both inside... and outside, to the life of this promotion. We've experienced the greatest of highs, and the lowest of lows in this 6 month journey to today. But, through it all, we've always had one thing behind us... and that's you, the fans. So, I'd like to personally thank each and every person that has sat in a seat at the Barton Arena, watched Madness or NeoFighters, bought a t-shirt from our website, or even paid to watch a show, just like this one right now. From the workers backstage to the people that you will see tonight, and from those that are no longer with us, I speak for all of them when I say: Thank You.
Tonight will prove one thing... Stars may fade away, but Legends? They live on... throughout Eternity."
The image on the BarTron fades as Blade walks out of the light, and the BarTron begins to show previews leading up to tonight's matches as we cut to our announcers.
Vic "The Voice" Hartman: Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages! Welcome to the greatest Pay-Per-View in BTWF history, Eternity! I'm Vic "The Voice" Hartman!
James "Headhunter" Sharpton: And I'm James "Headhunter" Sharpton. We welcome you to BTWF's main Pay-Per-View, the summit of every fiscal year, Eternity. And you all better believe the hype, because we have an awesome card tonight.
Hartman: That's right, Jim. First off, we have a veteran wrestler of the BTWF, and the very first BTWF World Heavyweight Champion, Hell's Guardian, facing off against a rookie here in the BTWF, the "Wild Thing", Jaice Wilds!
Sharpton: Hmph...Neither one of them seems to be of very much importance to me. Though it'd be pretty nice to see Hell knock that rookie's ego down a few notches.
Hartman: He very well may do that, Jim. But hey, an upset victory could happen as well. You never know.
Sharpton: I doubt it...But it's happened before, I guess. Next, we have our first championship match of the night, with the new tag champs Seraph and Kanyon facing off against the winners of the Number One Contender's match last week against The Terror Squad, Pohatu and Apolo, The Outcasts!
Hartman: Seraph and Kanyon showed everyone that they were the real deal last month when they defeated Jack Frost and Twilight Tokyo Rose for the tag team championships. Though afterwards we learned that Twilight's heart was not totally in the match. Against The Outcasts, who are sure to have their eyes on the gold, will Seraph and Kanyon be as lucky?
Sharpton: I doubt it, Vic. Seraph and Kanyon won because of a fluke last time. This time, there's no getting around it. The Outcasts are going to be our new tag champs.
Hartman: I'm not so sure about that, Jim...Anyway, after that, it's a stipulation match that's sure to be interesting, as one of the best known cruiserweights of the BTWF, The Tiger, faces off against the monster, Demon, in a steel cage!
Sharpton: Ooo, I know I'm gonna enjoy this one, Vic. Demon kept TT from getting the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship last month after TT beat him in the Garden of Evil qualifyer the week before, but apparently TT wants revenge. And I'm sure Demon wants to settle the score, and make sure he doesn't have to deal with TT any more. I don't see TT walking out of this one, Vic.
Hartman: I don't know, Jim. TT ended up taking Demon out in the Garden of Evil, even though he didn't win. Not to mention he beat him the week before in the Garden of Evil qualifyer, as you said.
Sharpton: Bah. It was luck the first time, and the second time, TT had Darson Grays' help. Now that they're going to be locked in a steel cage, TT's not going to have any help. And I think his luck has run out. Our next match is the second championship match of the night, and possibly one of the most entertaining, an Ultimate X Invitational for the BTWF Small Fry Championship!
Hartman: This is bound to be a very exciting match, Jim. A twenty-foot high metal scaffold is erected at each corner of the ring, two metal cables are strung diagonally between them, with the Small Fry belt hanging in the middle of the X. The first person to pull the belt down from those cables will be crowned the Small Fry Champion.
Sharpton: I see Auldron, Revision, or Icy Ali walking out the winner in this match. Auldron and Ali have the veteran experience over Revision, but he showed us last month that he could hold his own against Xunkai, and even technically won his match, though the title doesn't change hands on a DQ. I highly doubt Xunkai is still going to be the champion after this match is over.
Hartman: There's no doubt that Revision has a lot of talent, Jim, but I wouldn't count out Twilight, Tsunami, or our current Small Fry Champion, Xunkai. After this, it's a match that's been anticipated for over six months. The former owner of the BTWF, and former World Heavyweight Champion, Maxwell Conners, faces off against the current president of the BTWF, Brian Blade himself!
Sharpton: Can you say "repeat performance", Vic? If Conners was stupid enough to ask for this match, then he deserves what's coming from him. Blade may not be actively wrestling any more, but he sure as hell can take a wimp like Conners.
Hartman: Jim, do you have faith in any of the faces?
Sharpton: You know me better than that, Vic. After that sure-to-please match, we have the next-to-highest match on our card, and the last stipulation match, with the finalists of the Gaia Championship tournament, Bryan Kutterman and The Heat, facing off in a Ladder match!
Hartman: This is sure to be a very interesting end to the tournament, Jim. Of course, as we all know, Steve Twist, the former champion, never actually lost his title. He let go of it for the chance to challenge for the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship, which will be our main even tonight!
Sharpton: We'll get to that match in a minute, Vic. First, I know you all want to hear my thoughts on this match. Two months ago, Bryan Kutterman had a shot for the Gaia Championship at fadetoblack. There were three other guys in that match, and Kutterman lost. The next month, Raymond Kage got the shot, but only because Kutterman had to deal with Rocky in that Double Tables match. This time, there's no Twist, there's no Rocky, and Kutterman's going to easily walk away with the gold. Hartman: Jim, last time I checked, Kutterman was the one who was pinned at fadetoblack, and he lost the Double Tables Match at Ragnarok. Still, I won't doubt that Kutterman has a good chance of winning this title. But The Heat made it through this tournament as well, so we shouldn't count him out. But enough about that, the final match of the night, our main event, will be possibly one of the most anticipated, most fantasized about matches in the history of the BTWF! Steve "Savior" Twist will face off against Big Daddy for the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship!
Sharpton: There's no doubt in my mind that this winning streak is going to continue, Vic. Big Daddy defeated Conners and Hell's Guardian at ToG to regain his title, defeated Darson Grays in a 60 Minute Ironman match at fadetoblack, and beat five other competitors in the Garden of Evil at Ragnarok! A singles match against Steve Twist, an uppity Gaia Champion, isn't going to be that hard.
Hartman: Jim, that's going too far. Have you forgotten the unforgettable Gaia Championship matches Twist has had? The Ladder Match at Payback, where he won that Gaia Title, the Submission match one month later at ToG? Or the Fatal Four-Way Match at fadetoblack, or even that Barbed Wire Rope Match last month?
Sharpton: I do have to admit, that Barbed Wire Rope match was pretty entertaining...But still, the "Savior" is no match for the champion.
Hartman: We will see, Jim. We will see. But now, let's get to our first match.
