Victor Cross: This next match is scheduled for one fall! First, I will announce the stipulations for this contest... Should Maxwell Conners defeat Brian Blade this evening, then at BTWF MaXimum Carnage, he will receive a shot at the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship. However, should Blade defeat Conners, then Conners will be ineligible for a title shot until the time that Big Daddy loses the BTWF World Heavyweight Championship!
The crowd gives a hefty little pop for this match, as it's a rematch 6 months in the making...
Vic - A lot riding on the line for Maxwell here... You know that regardless of outcome of this match, that he wants Steve Twist to defeat Big Daddy. But, should he lose, he better pray for the Savior to come through. Headhunter - And that ain't gonna happen! There's only one Sayvior in the BTWF, and he's gonna walk out of THIS match with his arm raised in the sweet aroma of victory. Vic - I don't know Jim. Blade's got a lot of questions surrounding him right now too, because this is his first REAL match back in 6 months, and I don't call that debacle on Madness a match. That was just a mauling. Headhunter - Hey, he deserved it, didn't he?
DON'T YOU WANNA BE ME!!!
The opening guitar solo of "Don't You Wish You Were Me?" by Chris Jericho blares over the Barton Arena, the crowd erupting into cheers once again.
Victor Cross - Introducing first, from Las Vegas, Nevada, and weighing in at 225 lbs... He is a former BTWF World Heavyweight Champion of the WORRRRRRRRRRLD... Maxwell Conners, 'The Heartbreak Kid!'
Conners emerges from the curtains, the crowd cheering louder, looking out over the masses as the first verse of the song hits.
I see the way you look at me
You envy me and it's killing you
And you know it makes me smile when I look in the mirror
Thinkin' how good it is to be the king...
Conners starts down the ramp, high-fiving people as he goes.
And don't you wish you were me?
The King of all you see
Don't you wish you were me?
It ain't that easy
Don't think you'll ever be
Everything a man should be
'Cause don't you wish you were me?
Keep dreamin'...You'll never be me!
Conners stops a few feet away from the ring, looking towards the cheering crowds with a smile on his face. He hops on to the apron and climbs into the ring. Slowly spinning in a circle, Conners points to all the fans in the Barton Arena that have supported him, with the fans showing their appreciation with a great cheer as "Don't You Wish You Were Me?" cuts out.
Oddly enough, a weird bass guitar solo begins, as the lights go out in the Barton Arena, pulsing every so often with a high note as mist forms at the entrance ramp. The crowd can hear whispers from the speakers as the solo continues... until...
WELL FEEL THE FUNK BLAST!!!
The lights suddenly pop on as a series of purple and silver lasers focus on the entrance, a small jeer already starting as Zach De La Rocha, Tom Morello, and the rest of Rage Against the Machine begins to sing their 1999 hit... "Calm Like a Bomb."
I be walkin’ God like a dog
My narrative fearless
My word war returns to burn
Like Baldwin home from Paris
Steel from a furnace
I was born landless
It’s tha native son
Born of zapata’s guns
As expected, through the incredible amounts of mist on the entrance ramp, finally emerges the BTWF President, and a 5 Time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brian Blade. His low strut through the mist, almost looking like Scott Hall's, is jeered immensely as he just grins, mouthing the words to his old entrance theme.
Stroll through the shanties
And tha cities remains
Same bodies buried hungry
But with different last names
These vultures rob everything
Leave nothing but chains
Pick a point on tha globe
Yes tha pictures tha same
Victor Cross - And introducing his opponent, from Denver, Colorado, he stands 6 feet tall and weighs 201 pounds... He is a former 5 time World Heavyweight Champion, and is the current President and CEO of the Barton Town Wrestling Federation... This is THE SAYVIOR... BRIAN.... BLADE!!!!
Surprisingly, a small cheer from the loyal Blade fans sitting in what Blade calls the Brian Blade Fan Club (what others may call the Heel Section), isn't overrun with boos. They might hate the man for his flagrant display of egotism, but there's too much respect for him to be truly hated as he struts down to the ring.
There’s a bank and a church and a myth and a hearse
A mall and a loan and a child dead at birth There’s a window pig parrot
A rebel to tame
A whitehooded judge
And a syringe and a vein
Blade stops at the BBFC, and holds out his hands to a beautiful redhead at ringside... The redhead gets a quick kiss from the BTWF President, mainly because the girl is Dana Davis, the 7 year girlfriend of Blade, and hands him, to the delight of the BBFC... a SUPER SOAKER!
Conners, Cross, and Joe Schmoe all look rather nonplussed at Blade as he takes the water projectile and starts pumping it up on the apron...
And tha riot be ha rhyme of ha unheard...
WHATCHA SAY WHATCHA SAY WHAT!!!
WHATCHA SAY WHATCHA SAY WHAT!!!
WHATCHA SAY WHATCHA SAY WHAT!!!
WHATCHA SAY WHATCHA SAY WHAT!!!
WE'RE CALM LIKE A BOMB!!!!
And with that great cry, sparks of pyro erupt from the four corners of the ring, with Blade shooting off some of the water into the sky... before unleashing it onto the front row with a manic, old-school Brian Blade grin on his face. Finally running out of water, Blade discards the empty toy and steps through the apron, his face turning stone serious as he walks up to Conners and Schmoe, with Victor Cross getting the hell out of Dodge.
DING DING DING!!!!
As the bell rings, the two competitors circle each other, staring a hole into the other as Joe Schmoe steps aside, showing that he's smarter than the average referee. As if hearing a signal, both men rush forward and get into a collar and elbow tie-up, but Conner's size advantage allows him to shove Blade to the mat... After a few moments on the mat, staring at the larger superstar, Blade grins and rolls back to his feet, signaling to Conners that he wants to go at it again. They do, but as soon as it looks like Conners is about to win, Blade kicks his leg out at Conners' kneecap, causing him to fall to the mat. Conners gets back to his feet, and is met with a quick, painful slap to the face from Blade.
Conners staggers for a moment, and looks at Blade, surprised by what he did. But that second is over quickly as he floors Blade with a quick right hand. As Blade gets up, Conners hits him with another right, then pushes him against the ropes and whips him towards the opposite side. Blade bounces off the ropes and ducks under the attempted Conners clothesline... However, Blade's attempt at a crescent kick is also ducked, and the moment he needs to recover his balance is all that Conners needs to spin The Sayvior around and knee him in the gut, giving him a quick DDT to the delight of the crowd. Conners makes his way to his feet and grabs Blade's head, dragging him to his feet. He attempts a scoop slam, but Blade slides out behind Conners and elbows him in the back of the head a few times until Conners eventually falls to his knees. With a cocky grin given to the jeering crowd, Blade gives Conners a quick, sharp kick right to his back. Maxwell arches his back in pain, and that just causes Blade to do it again with a very large smile on his face. However, this time, Conners gets up to his feet and stares down his smaller boss, rubbing his back slightly while Blade points to his head.
Looking visibly annoyed with Blade's constant showboating, Conners gives his boss a one-fingered salute and starts to talk some serious smack to him.
Vic - I wonder what he could be saying James. Headhunter - I bet he's saying how he's the better boss, but we all know THAT ain't true.
Blade starts to talk some smack back to Conners and walks up to him, so the two men are nose to nose. After a moment of trash talk, Conners shoves Blade away, but Blade comes right back with a shove of his own. As Conners reels backwards, Blade points to his jaw, telling Conners to pop him... and he does, with a hard southpaw strike that sends Blade down to the mat. Rolling back to his feet, Blade doesn't have the opportunity to deal with the pain as Conners moves in and starts to deal out the punishment with a series of right hands to the chest, sending Blade into the corner. Maxwell pulls Blade out of the corner and attempts to toss him into the ropes, but Blade reverses and sends Conners flying instead. On his return trip, Blade gives Maxwell a quick drop-toe hold, sending Conners' head careening into the middle rope. Blade smirks and runs to the other side of the ring, bouncing off the opposite ropes. The fans get slightly excited, because they might get to see Blade perform a 619 or a nifty head-smashing move... and leave the exchange slightly disappointed as Blade simply slides under the bottom ropes and gives Conners a stiff uppercut to the face, sending the former owner back to the canvas. As Joe begins his count, Blade crosses his right arm, first across his chest and then from his head to his waist, before pointing up...
Headhunter - What is he doing?!? Vic - That move Blade just did, sliding under the ring-ropes with a dazed opponent on the second rope and giving him an uppercut... That combo was commonly used by the late, great Ray Traylor, also known to many as the Big Boss Man. A very rare classy act on Blade's part it seems... Headhunter - Yeah... I can't even make a mean remark about that... Rest in Peace Ray...
As the announcers lament the loss of such a great wrestler from our childhood, Blade climbs back into the ring and starts to wail on Conners with a series of punches to the jaw. However, Joe quickly rushes in and breaks it up, allowing both men a small chance to breathe. This is all the opportunity Maxwell needs as he launches himself at Blade and knocks him into the corner with a spinning heel kick. After standing back to his feet, Maxwell walks over to Blade, climbs up to the second rope and starts hammering Brian's head with a series of right hands, much to the enjoyment of the fans, as they begin counting: 1,2,3,4,5,6... But before Conners can finish the 10-count, Blade pushes Conners off the top rope. Conners falls into an inverted atomic drop and immediately is grounded to the mat, groaning in pain. Sensing his opportunity, Blade pulls up Conners by his hair and nails a huge, wince inducing chop right to Maxwell's chest... well, it would have been wince inducing has the crowd not chanted "WHOOOOOO!" with it. Conners staggers back, allowing Blade the opportunity to hit a few more chops, sending Conners into the ropes. Blade grabs Conners by the arm, and throws him like he was going to Irish Whip him, but instead holds on and gives him a knee right to his gut, doubling him over. Blade quickly rolls him up, but is only able to get a two count before Conners kicks out. Blade looks at the referee angrily, but instead of arguing, he drags Conners to his feet. He hits 3 more big chops, and on the last one, Conners falls to the mat. After dragging Conners to the middle of the ring, Blade bounces off the ropes and performs a standing Shooting Star Press, getting a small pop out of the crowd, but only a two from the ref. Blade shakes his head in a bit of disbelief, but being the veteran that he is, stays on Conners. Blade walks over to Conner's legs, and turns him over, and starts to apply a half-Boston crab on Conners already damaged back. Conners begins trying to climb to the ropes, and succeeds in getting a foot away from them, but just as he is about to reach them, Blade drags him back to the middle of the ring
Vic - This is not good for Maxwell Conners Jim... Blade, regardless of his status these days, is still one of the best wrestlers alive, and is legendary for his technical prowess. Headhunter - its just music to my ears to hear Conners screaming like that y'know?
Conners is howling in pain as we see Blade smiling from the damage he's doing. But Conners refuses to tap out, his hands over his head on the mat. Finally, Blade releases the move, angry that he couldn't make Conners tap out, so he instead goes for a cover, but Conners gets a shoulder up. Blade stands up, looking slightly frustrated by his current success, and kicks Conners over onto his stomach. With his injured back shown, Blade takes the opportunity presented to stomp on it a few times, with Conners howling in pain each time. Blade then rushes towards the ropes and springboards off of them... Unfortunately, his intended elbow-drop hits nothing but canvas as Conners rolls out of the way.
The fans cheer at Blade's misfortune. Blade and Conners both get up slowly. Blade backs up into a turnbuckle, while Conners grabs the opposite ropes to help himself stand. Conners runs to Blade's corner, leapfrogs over him and lands on the top rope while Blade falls to the mat. Conners looks around the arena a bit, the fans cheering him on. Conners then dives off the top rope and sends his elbow right into Blade's heart with an elbow drop. Slightly deflating the crowd by only getting a two count, Conners marches on by grabbing a hold of Blade's long black hair and throwing him into the corner... However, Conners charge is uniquely stopped as Blade quickly removes his white shirt and throws it in Maxwell's face, blinding him for the moment Blade needs to lock Maxwell into a reverse front-face lock.
Conners lifts up his right arm and begins shaking it drastically, hoping that the crowd can will him out of it, but his arm soon shakes less and less, until it drops to his side. Conners' eyes begin to close as he falls to his knees. Blade wrenches back on the move, until he is on one knee himself, with Maxwell's head nearly touching his feet. The crowd continues to try and will Maxwell to recover, but it's seemingly to no avail as Conners looks to be out... Joe Schmoe walks over to Conners and lifts his arm once, and it falls to his side. Schmoe lifts Conners arm again, but with the same result...
But on the third try, just as Conner's arm is about to touch the mat for the third try, it somehow stays up. Blade looks shocked as it begins shaking with life again. Conners works himself to his feet, with Blade still on him. A few elbows to the gut and Blade releases the hold, but as Conners is about to run against the ropes to gain some momentum, Blade grabs his hair and throws him to the mat. Blade points to his head once again, declaring himself to be smarter than Conners... and that costs him as Maxwell rolls him up, albeit only for a two count. Both men climb to their feet at the same time, but Blade is the first to react and hits Conners with a huge clothesline. Instead of making a cover, Blade falls to the mat as well as Joe begins his count:
Vic- I wasn't sure how long Blade could last, being his first real test in 4 months James- Look at Conners, does he look full of life?
As Joe reaches 7, both men lift up their legs and proceed to have a simultaneous nip-up, to the delight of the crowd. The two stare at each other, and then begin to exchange right hands, with Conners gaining the upper hand and pushing Blade into the ropes. Conners Irish whips Blade into the ropes, and on the rebound, he lowers his head, but Blade stops his momentum and kicks Conners square in the head. But Conners doesn't fall over, instead he straightens up and looks at Blade and smirks. Blade raises his eyebrow and gives Conners a swift kick to the knee... but that doesn't faze him one bit. With his eyes shifting, Blade bounces off the ropes, hoping to use a flying forearm to knock Conners down... and receives a powerslam for his troubles.
Conners gets up to his feet and starts walking all over the ring looking at the crowd and trying to gain some momentum. He turns to look at Blade, who is struggling to get to his feet. He slowly walks over to him and once Blade is to his feet, he gives him a kick to the midsection, and attempts the HEARTBREAKER, but Blade lifts Conners over his head into a back body drop. Blade measures Conners up, grinning madly as he does so... Conners shakily stands to his feet and then turns to Blade, only to receive a kick to the gut for his troubles. Blade quickly grabs Conners in a front-face lock, draping Conner's arm over his shoulder and hooking his right leg. After using his left leg to signal to the crowd, he lifts Conners up vertically, and brings him crashing down to the mat, landing on his injured back.
Vic - WOW! WHATAMOVE BY BLADE! Headhunter - I'll give you that one Vic... Nice and painful looking. Vic - We're getting word from the back that Blade calls that move the Director's Cut. Headhunter - And it's official... Brian Blade has spent way too much time with Hollywood Big-wigs.
Blade rolls backwards from the move, poses a bit above Maxwell, and then finally goes for the pinfall... Schmoe brings his hand down once... twice... three times NO! Conners gets his foot on the ropes to a huge pop! Once Joe stops counting, Blade gets up and walks to the other side of the ring with his arms raised, thinking that he had secured the victory. But Joe walks in front of him waving his hands and grabbing the near rope to signify that Conners got a foot on the rope. Blade starts shouting at the ref and pushes him away. He slowly turns around to Conners, who was busy tuning up the band, but Blade ducks from the SWEET CHIN MUSIC, and it accidentally hits Joe instead!
Conners looks down at the Head Ref in concern for his actions, not noticing as Blade pulls a small steel chain out of his pocket and wraps it around his fist, much like the match at BloodBath. Conners turns around as Blade rushes forwards, and surprisingly, Blade ends up getting the worst end of the deal as he is leveled right in the face with a stiff right hand and falls flat onto the mat. Conners looks down on his opponent, and then pulls a pair of BRASS KNUCKLES off of his right hand! He then, with a huge smirk on his face... points to his own head.
After taunting his fallen opponent some more, Conners points to the crowd, and then to his own foot to a big pop. He struts over to the nearest corner and begins tuning up the bad for one final note. As Blade slowly crawls to his feet, his face covered in blood, Conners rushes forward, aiming for the spot where Blade's head would be at the height of his kick... AND IS GIVEN A SWIFT RIGHT HAND RIGHT TO THE GROIN! Conners immediately slumps to the mat, bellowing pain, a very low-pitched jeer was let out from the Barton Arena crowd. Conners' face tells the tale, as he is screaming in pain. He eventually works up the strength and rolls over, off of Blade's cover. Conners grabs the ropes and makes it to his feet. Seeing Blade in a kneeling position, he moves as fast as he can over to him and puts his head between his legs and hits the HEARTBREAKER, but after hitting the move, he falls to the mat in pain, still holding his groin.
Joe Schmoe works his way back to his feet, and sees both men down on the canvas, and begins to count, ignoring the chain and brass knuckles on the mat... As he counts, Conners slowly crawls over to Blade, and rolls him over and covers the BTWF President as Schmoe makes it to 8. 1... 2... and Blade kicks out! Conners grabs the ropes yet again to help him to his feet while he looks at Blade lying on the other side of the ring. Joe is bending over Blade, making sure he's still conscious when Conners is pulled out of the ring by BIG DADDY! The BTWF World Champion unloads a few punches to Conners and, with some trash-talk, throws him into the ringpost. Conners staggers forwards... right into a ROCK BOTTOM. Big Daddy takes little time to pose, and slides Conners back into the ring, just as Blade is getting to his feet.
Blade makes his way over to the prone Conners, who seems to be knocked out, and drapes his arm over the prone Maxwell, while Big Daddy stands on the ramp, watching with a smirk... Schmoe counts... 1... 2... AND CONNERS KICKS OUT! Big Daddy and Brian Blade look livid at this, and the crowd goes nuclear. Blade has an evil look on his face as he lifts Conners to his feet and kicks him in the midsection. He runs towards the ropes and attempts the CUTTING EDGE, but Conners musters enough strength to keep Blade from forcing his head to the mat. Instead, he shifts him around in the air and sets him up for the JAILHOUSE ROCK. The crowd is going insane, as Conners walks to the center of the ring, while still holding Blade on his shoulders... He then throws Blade off of his shoulders, hoping to hit the Jailhouse Rock... and his head is grabbed by Blade's feet into a roll-up! Joe Schmoe quickly falls to the ground to make the count... 1.... 2... 3!!!!
The crowd erupts into boos as Blade hops to his feet, his arm raised by Joe Schmoe, while Big Daddy laughs at Conners from his spot on the entrance ramp.
Cross - AND THE WINNER OF THIS MATCH... BRIAN BLADE!!!
As Conners looks on in disbelief, Blade slides out of the ring and stands on the barricade, his arms out to the crowd as if he was shouting he was the King of the World... before falling onto his small group of adoring fans as if he was crowd surfing... Meanwhile, Conners looks at Big Daddy, still laughing on the entrance ramp, and gives him a death glare to end all death glares as we fade to a commercial for CSI: Barton Town, debuting soon on CBS.
