Rescue Me
By: Stefani
Tasha flew down the highway in her black Viper as the wind flew in the windows and the radio blared. Her black shirt clung to her thin body and her light brown hair with dark purple and blue tips trailed past her shoulder. She hummed gently with the radio as her eyes started to fall together. She quickly slapped herself and woke back up as she tried to keep her green eyes fixed on the task at hand- getting to the arena. She was supposed to be starting out as her first day as a WWF manager, for whom, she didn't know yet.
She drove a little faster now, just wanting to get there safely. Anticipation flowed through her veins as she heard the familiar ringing of her cell phone. She searched around- looking for it, but couldn't find it.
"What if it's the WWF?" She asked herself out loud. She kept one hand on the wheel, and the other one rummaged around the floor. The rest happened in slow motion. Her speeding car approached a guardrail dad on. She continued her search in the front seat, her eyes far from the road and she was pushing 90 miles per hour.
As the car slammed into the metal rail, her car flipped over it and crashed into another sign. Thank the Lord, she had her seatbelt on and managed not to get thrown. However, she jerked and tossed about as her airbags flew open smothering her until there was a dead silence after the wretched screeching of tires and smashing of glass.
The car was on its side and she was dangling on up the air. Tasha slowly breathed in and out- each gasp full of terror and fright. The phone gave another ring before stopping silently- wherever the hell it was.
"Help!" She screamed loudly out the window. However, no one was around to here her yell.

Jeff Hardy drover moderately down the road. He was running late as it was to the arena and he was supposed to FINALLY find out who his new manager was. The breakup between Team Xtreme has been rough. After the longed rumors, Vince finally did it and split the Hardys right in two, Lita going along with Matt leaving Jeff alone for a while.
But now, Jeff would finally have someone in his corner to replace the gap where Matt once stood. He'd barely got a chance to talk to Matt since then as he sighed. It was the price to pay to be in the business, he knew that- unfortunately. He continued his drive when he stared ahead.
That wasn't… Someone didn't… Maybe it was from a few years ago or something…
But he saw the bent guardrail as he slowed down and approached the wreckage and saw the totaled car. He turned his engine off after he pulled over to the side of the road and tried to look down there. He pulled out his phone and stuck it in his back pocket as he got out of the car staring down.
"Help!" he head a faint yelling as he jumped down the slope that the rail had been protecting cars from and ran over.
"Hello?" He called as and arm dangled out the window, "Oh God… Hold on up there!" He yelled. Jeff fumbled for his phone and got it out quickly as he punched in 911.

The ambulance and police crew started to leave, a tow truck dragging her car away as Tasha sunk to the ground where she had been and started to shake horribly. Jeff, watching this, slowly walked over and scrunched down.
"Hey you okay?" He asked as he put his hand on her shoulder. When she didn't answer him and he could see the obvious tears that were flowing from her eyes and the fact that her hand was shaking tremendously. He was inches away from her opened his arms in an inviting manor. Quick as lightning, she accepted it and squeezed herself against him, tears and all as he pulled them up.
"Hey now, it's just a car, and you're not hurt at all!" He said as he tried to wipe a tear away but she swatted his hand before pushing him away.
"You don't understand." She said as she leaned against the tree. Jeff walked over and put his arm above her on the tree and slanted before pushing a purple lock out of her face.
"Try me." He answered grinning.
"First of all, I worked at a filthy, disgusting club for 3 years to pay for that car. Second of all, I was off to my first day at my new job and I have no way of getting there… and now I could be fired or something!" She said, "And I wasn't even supposed to work where I am… I know nothing about it but I need to so I can support myself… and I'm doomed." She said as he looked down.
"Where ya headed?" He asked her casually.
"Maple Leaf Arena." She said as she wiped another tear away.
"I can give ya a ride, come on." He said as he walked away, not noticing she wasn't behind him until he started up the hill. He looked down at her, she hadn't moved. Jeff jogged back over and took her by the arm and lifted her up. She struggled and protested and such as he came to his car.
"Listen…"
"Jeff." He said grinning.
"Jeff, I do… I don't want in a car." She said as he looked at her funnily before understanding.
"That was just a fluke… you need cars." He said, "better to just forget about it and get it over with." He said before pushing piles of magazines and such over and putting her in the front seat and driving off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jeff slow down!" Tasha yelled as he looked over at her- he was only going thirty to begin with. However, he slowed down to twenty seeing as what had just happened.
"So, what are ya doing at the arena?" He asked.
"Oh, I'm… managing some wrestler." She said as his lips curled into a small smile. She was gnawing at her lip so hard Jeff thought for a moment it was going to bleed.
"This is horrible. I don't have a car, my car had my hotel room stuff, all of my clothes… All I got was my purse! Now I have more bills to pay…" She said going on as he listened patiently.
"We're here." He said as he pulled up.
"Thanks, Jeff. Maybe I'll see you around." She said knowing she'd never see him again, "And… thanks, for everything."
"No prob." He said as he winked and drove off. However, he didn't drive to far. He pulled into a parking spot before he grabbed his clothes and bag and walked inside.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm really sorry I'm late!" Tasha said as she walked into Vince's office.
"Oh it's alright, stuff happens." He said, "But we got to move quickly, it's already 6 o'clock. I know you're really new to the wrestling world, but I think you'll catch on quickly. You are going to be managing Jeff Hardy, do you know who that is?" She nodded no as he continued," All right. We'll get you aquatinted later. Any ways, our wardrobe people will get you ready and here's what's going on. You're going to be seen in the back talking to him- just casual chat and then accompany him to the ring- real simple." He said.
"Okay, thank you again Mr. McMahon." She said as she stood up and shook his hand.
"Just, look around for Jeff, ask someone, they'll point ya in the right direction." He said as she left and slowly shut his door. Tasha looked around at her new surroundings as a blonde ran by.
"Excuse me!" She yelled, but the lady had already passed. Then, a tall blonde man was walking around.
"Excuse me?" She said as she tapped him on the arm, "I'm looking for Jeff Hardy… I'm new…" She said softly as he grinned.
"No problem, I'm Chris, come on, I'll take ya to him." He said as Chris walked her down the hallway to a locker room. He pushed the door open and smiled, "There ya go…" The locker room was empty as she shut the door behind me and looked around. That gym bag was offal familiar…
There was a running of water, he must have been taking a shower. Tasha sat down on a chair and crossed her legs, she still had to go to costume and makeup.
"Hello?" She called out loudly as the water flipped off. A few minutes later, a door opened and he stepped out. "Oh my God it's you!" She squealed loudly.
"Hello… Miss Tasha…" he said grinning as he looked in his bag and pulled out a large shirt to slip on, "I take it you’re my new manager." Tasha was all dizzy from the happenings. She sat down, this was WAY too much of a coincidence. He just stared at her with his big eyes as she nibbled at her lip.
"What are ya waiting for, we got to go to costume, come on." He said getting up and taking her hand. As their flesh touched, she felt her heart jump a vertical mile. He took her down the hallway where there was a room filled to the brim with clothes and giant mirrors and makeup and makeup people.
"Whoa." She said under her breath as they walked in.
"Hey Melissa… hey Stacy." Jeff said as he came in and took a seat as if he had done it a million times, "Can you… get a new coat on my nails… I need some powder on my face… something unique with my nails… Do you still have that white bandana… and the wide beater?" He asked as they nodded and ran around. Tasha just stoof there dumfounded.
"Honey sit down, we ain't got much time- she yours Jeff?" Stacy asked as Jeff nodded.
"Yup." He said as they went to work on him, "We got a small promo tonight so a little something conservative and then… valet attire." He said as a black coat of polish was applied to his nails. They ushered Tasha to sit down as she was bombarded with makeup and such.
They emerged from the room with the new attire on. Jeff was adorned in a white bandana and jeans and a wife beater for now- his wrestling pants and a sheer black shirt for later. Tasha had on a pair of really, really tight black pants and a really tight and low-cut black tank top… far from normal attire. They went back to the room where a camera crew was.
"Alright, just stand there… and talk casually, we're not picking up sound so it doesn't matter what you say." A guy with a camera said as they walked over and did as they were told and the filming started. After about a minute, they packed up and left, leaving Jeff and Tasha alone.
"It's a small… small world." He said sitting down as she grinned and took a seat as well, "We got about two hours…" He said as an uncomfortable silence followed, "Well…" He said, "you're my new manager, you're gonna be spending lots of time with me… how about I get to know you a 'lil better? How old are ya?" He asked.
"I'm 23." I said as he nodded.
"Me too." Small talk followed until he looked down at his watch, "Damn, we're out in 10 minutes!" He said as he yanked his tank off and pulled on his ring attire and Tasha couldn't help but stare at his perfect figure.
"Hurry up!" He said as she looked in her hand at her attire. She wanted to just crawl in the bathroom and change, but obviously they were in a hurry. She kept her back to him, she couldn't bare to do this face to face, as she slipped her hand off and pulled on this wee little black thing that went with the pants. She slid her bra off and fumbled to get it tied up the back- a task that was impossible to do on her own.
"Here, I got it." Jeff said as he walked over and she felt him pulling the strings tightly and tying the several loops up before patting her and tossing her the shoes, high black pumps.
"I'll be lucky if I can walk in these." She said as she slid them on, luckily, they weren't too bad.
"Come on." He said as he pulled her hand and yanked them out the door as he started to jog with her to the steps. Perry and Terry were already there waiting.
"'Bout time you got here Hardy." Perry said as Terry grinned and shook Tasha's hand.
"Nice to meet you!" She said as their music blasted through the arena and they walked up the steps leaving Jeff and Tasha. Tasha could hear the squeals of the crowd as her heart started to thump.
"You'll be fine." Jeff said as he pat her back and heard his new music blast as he walked up the ramps pulling Tasha up to the curtain and giving a smile before walking through. Outside, the crowd was buzzing and yelling and Tasha felt as if they were all staring at her. But what could she do? She walked down the ring with him as the bell started.
Tasha went through the whole ordeal they'd told her, cheerleading and shit. She banged on the apron and et cetera as Jeff got power bombed. Perry took the pin, one, two, three and left with Terry. Tasha immediately ran in the ring to Jeff's mangled body and put her hand on his back.
"You okay?" She asked as he looked up and gave a small grin.
"I'm fine, here, help me up." He said as she pulled him out of the ring and up the ramp. They went backstage to the normal crowd gathered around the monitor as Jeff talked a bit here and there and Tasha stood around uncomfortably.
"Come on, let's go." Jeff said a littler later as he took her hand and pulled her away and back to the locker room, "You wanna shower first or me?" He asked.
"I will." Tasha said- blushing. And she knew she was.
"Alright." He said as she walked in the small bathroom area and got undressed as she turned the shower on and stepped into the heat of the water that pounded down on her back. You wouldn't believe how sweaty you could get just from walking down the ramp! She watched as the water ran down her back.
"Hey Tash?" A voice called. The shower curtain was dark, so there was no way you could see through… so she felt moderately safe.
"Yea?" She yelled as the door opened and the voice was clearer.
"Didn't you say that you lost your hotel key and room reservations and all?" Jeff said as she slapped herself.
"Yes… fuck, I forgot!" She yelled as the soapy shampoo dripped down her forehead.
"Well… you can room with me if you like… I mean, I could leave ya hang'n." He said
"Oh thank you! You're such a life saver!" She exclaimed.
"Alright I'm leaving." He said as he started to walk out.
"No wait!" Tasha yelled stopping him dead in his tracks, "Would you uhh… I don't uhh… have anything to wear except my old clothes…." She said softly.
"Ah, don't worry, I'll bring ya some clothes." He said as she grinned and thanked him and finished up her shower.
Chapter Two
Tasha got out of the heat of the shower and pulled on her panties and bra. She spotted the clothes Jeff had left her. She pulled on the drawstring pants that were really baggy on her, but fit after she yanked the chord long enough. She pulled over herself a orange long sleeve shirt. Even though the sleeved came way over her hands, it was warm and that's all she wanted right now. Her hair was a sopping mess as she found a rubber band to yank it into a high ponytail before she gathered her ring clothes and walked out to where Jeff was engulfed in a book.
"Hey." She yelled skidding over, 'Whatcha reading?"
"Just some book… Nothing big." He said as he stood up. He'd taken his shirt off already as Tasha tried not to stare at his chest. He grinned and patted her before he too disappeared into the bathroom. Jeff went in and could smell her scent everywhere. He climbed in the shower and felt it already warm from her. He gave himself a goofy grin before taking his shower.
Tasha sat in the large room sorting her few things as she inched over to Jeff's bag and took a peek inside, nothing unusual. She paced the room a few times, growing impatient as he finished up. Jeff got out and dressed as he came back in the larger room.
"Ready to go?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jeff swung open the door to his simple 'ole hotel room as he held the door for Tasha.
"Thanks." She said softly as she walked in.
"Ain't much, but as much as we travel, there's no real use in getting expensive rooms all the time." He said as he sat his bag on the floor.
"Yea… I know what you mean." She said as Tasha played around with the drawstring on her pants. Jeff walked over and pushed her on the bed, as Tasha grabbed his shirt in surprise and pulling him along with her. They landed in a rather incriminating position with Jeff sprawled out on top of Tasha. She giggled nervously as he twirled her hair and an awkward moment followed.
Jeff twirled his fingers through her hair as he stared into her deep eyes. Before either one knew what happened, he dipped his head and laid his lips on hers as the room spun. His mouth gently pushed at hers- neither one believing how fast things were moving. She pulled her head up and caught his lips after he stopped for breath. After their necking session had finished, Jeff pulled Tasha up in his arms and grinned some more.
"So… where do we go from here?" She asked as his fingers played along her cheekbone.
"We'll see when we get there." He replied. They settled into bed that night, Tasha snuggled up in Jeff's arms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A year later, they were on their way up in the federation. Tasha and Jeff were taking a walk in New York at night, when they got to a quiet area. Jeff stopped and got down on a knee as he took Tasha's hand. Do you honestly need to hear the whole story? The yes, the kiss… the music playing in their heads.
"Jeff… thank you, for rescuing me." Tasha said as he kissed her again.
"Thank you for needing rescued." He said.
