-New Breed Wrestling-

-Here's the inside scoop on my first batch of fantasy wrestlers. Who they are and where they've been. Most are similar to real life superstars in some way, but they also try to convey their own unique style.

Byron McGee-(the evil federation owner)

-This is basically no different that the Evil Mr. McMahon gimmick that the WWF has revolved around for the last several years. It's a good way to get feuds started as Byron will screw you over if he doesn't like you and has also pissed off the majority of the NBW locker room by giving his son Bobby a big push over some of the more deserving workers in the fed. Byron demands respect (and often gets it) for being the guy that made the NBW the sucess that it has become. He took over NBW while it was an indy promotion (a questionable transaction) and used his considerable wealth and connections to lead the fed to National Recognition, even garnering it a National Cable Deal. Byron isn't a bad wrestler and in fact was quite good in his younger days. He still ocassionally is provoked into putting on the tights, usually teaming with his son Bobby or one of his many hired insurance policies. His style is slow and mythodical and relies mainly on brawling and power moves. His facial expressions and cry baby heel style can make him very enjoyable to watch given he has the right opponent. The power hungry Byron is currently out of control and has used any means necissary to get his guys all the belts in the NBW. This abuse of power is starting to wear thin with many of the NBW's faces.

Bobby McGee-(spoiled and pampered daddy's boy)

-I figured giving the promotor a son for him to push would generate some great heel heat as it has done so in real life in the past. Erik Watts and Dustin Rhodes had to work extra hard to overcome the daddy's boy image that they were labled with because of the big push they recieved out of the gate. Bobby is no different except with the heel twist added he is in no hurry to establish himself apart from his 'dear old dad' he mearly sits back and reaps the benifits. Bobby, while not a bad wrestler, is far from the best in the fed and in manys opinion is not yet ready for the top heel spot in the promotion. Bobby is promoted like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread...this further angers the feds baby faces. Bobby is a talented brawler, sells well and comes up with some crazy bumps and spots. He is entertaining to watch and is particularly good at pretaped backstage segments and live interviews between him and his dad Byron that allow his natural charisma and sense of humor come through.

Homeless Bob-(scrappy underdog face)

-Bob's gimmick is that of a street bum who is more concerned about his next meal as opposed to his next match. A small guy Bob often plays the underdog/giant killer role that has made guys like Spike Dudley, Mikey Whipwreck and Rey Mysterio Jr. incredibly popular. While Bob isn't the best wrestler (in fact he's quite sloppy at times but he plays it off as being drunk) he has perhaps the most entertaining character in the fed and plays it way over the top. He has a series of signature moves such as the Drunken Spinning Toe Hold, The Bob-a-canrana and The Running Spear to a guy in the Tree of Woe and also a great catch phrase...("Never Underestimate the Power of the Homeless") Bob has the incredible knack of knowing just the right time to do something to get a huge pop from the crowd. He is also well versed in interviews and often says some very funny things and is very easy to get along with in the back. Definately the kinda guy you wanna keep around no matter what. He still hasn't forgiven former long time friend and former tag team partner Greg Levrone for power bombing him on the concrete floor several months ago, but has found solice in a new friend, drunken Irishman Rick O'Shea (hey they share the same passion). Still hasn't been able to afford entrance music or the respelling of his name (its Homless Bob on his entrance) but instead opted for an impressive lighting and pyrotechnics display.

Rick O'Shea-(beer swilling brawler)

-Imagine if Sandman were Irish thus increasing his beer-lust and his blood-lust (well maybe just beer-lust). Rick is a tough brawler with little wrestling skill. He has a boxing background and uses a wide variety of punching technics to go for the knock out. He is slowly picking up some wrestling skills and has recently favored a flowing ddt to knock guys out cold. He was brought in with Homeless Bob when Bob returned from injuries substained at the hands of a Greg Levrone running Liger Bomb on the floor. Oshea ocassionally teams with Bob and is usually seen with him in the back. He also has been making some noise in the hardcore division recently. Not a major guy but definately a solid midcarder providing good filler material. I predict good things for this guy based solely on name alone....anyone up for a "Harley race" down some "dusty roads"?

Greg "Powerhouse" Levrone-(Ruthless Powerhouse Heel)

-Levrone could be compared to Mike Awesome (the ECW Awesome that kicked ass not the wuss in WCW that he has now become...) He loves to punish his opponents, using his massive 6'10" frame to break them in half with a variety of crippling powerbomb variations. Levrone was once a top face and had one of the NBW's greatest all time feuds with then heel Jason Davis. The shoe was placed on the other foot however with Davis going face and Levrone going heel in mid feud. After the turn a new and vicious Levrone emerged on the scene brutally powerbombing then friend and partner Homeless Bob on the concrete floor. Levrone is now part of Byron McGee's corporate group having sold out to the highest bidder, but rumors abound that he is becoming increasingly unhappy at playing second fiddle to Byron's son Bobby (the current NBW World Champ) and feels that he is now the promotions top heel, a fact that few fans and insiders dispute. His interview style is intense and straight forward and gets the job done (kinda like HHH or Arn Anderson) Levrone is currently one half of the NBW tag team champions with Thurston C. Kncade III. The team works well together though not a regular duo. Starting to learn how to play backstage politics.

Thurston C. Kincade III-(The Aristocratic Heel)

-Much like HHH's original WWF gimmick the American Blue Blood. One of the many outside interests that have helped Byron McGee out finacially. Thurston comes from a rich English family and pretty much bought his way into the NBW. He is a very capable mat technician with a traditional European style, who loves to use a variety of chops. He often kisses Byron's ass buying him gifts and offering to take care of minor problems that may arise. The proper Kincade is the perfect target for guys like Homeless Bob and Dizzy Gonzalez in interview segments. Consistantly works some of the better matches in the fed and is currently one half of the tag team champions with Greg Levrone. Convinced (bought his way into) Byron to eneter him in the first ever hardcore tourny and became the first ever Hardcore champion by using his wits and wrestling skills to outsmart the federations brawlers. long time nemisis of Tent Lewis forcing Lewis out of action for a month because of a pre match stipulation.

Tiger Senshu-(Stereotypical Japaneese Heel)

-Take one part Muta, a little Tajirri and throw in some Kaz Hayashi and Taka Michinoku and you come up with Tiger Senshu. Stiff kicks, Frankensteiners and the dreaded Oriental green mist...It's all there. Rarely talks and uses an interpreter when he does, Tiger lets his actions talk in the ring. Another of the growing legions to join Byron's stable. The three time TV champ has also formed a tough team with Snake Richards that Byron has been using as mercenarys to protect current tag champs and stable mates Thruston Kincade and Greg Levrone. Has had some great matches with Dizzy Gonzalez and James Midnight among others.

Snake Richards-(the legit bad ass heel)

-Snake is as tough as they come and is relentless in the ring much like a Chris Benoit or Ken Shamrock. He isnt a huge guy but he is in incredible shape and can go all night if need be. He prefers to us mainly a submission style mixxed with a few suplex thows and some kicking techniques. Him and Tiger Senshu make for a double tough duo and had some top tag team matches against the team of Vertigo and Michael Ash (whom Snake used to be aligned with). Prefers to use the Constricting (Crippler) Crossface and the Ankle Lock to gain submission victories.

Jason Davis-(The can't miss prospect-face)

-Wrestles a tough, scientific style similar to the Calgary style made famous by the Hart family. His gimmick is similar to Rocky Maivia's early WWF or Justin Credibles' early ECW angles in which he was touted as a cant miss prospect, (the guy hails from Prospect Park, NY) started out as a heel as part of the Prime Time Players (I came up with that gimmick long before WCW gave it to Elix Skipper haha, all the way back to WM2K days) with Mike Natello and Barry Reeves but quickly came into his own in singles competition. Suprisingly the fans took to him and Davis was turned face and nearly became NBW champion. After that bad luck seemed to follow Davis around. His role with the company was considerably reduced after some substance abuse problems and he has found himself back in the middle of the card. Presents a great attitude on camera and sports a menacing skowl. Prefers to make people tap to the Sharpshooter but uses the Diamond Dust frequently. Currently lacks direction and may be looking to return to his heelish roots. His brother Titus (who bears a striking resembalance to Jason) is being slowly brought up though NBW developmental...

James Midnight-(Native American Superstar-face)

-No fed would be complete without an Injun complete with war paint and tribal markings. Tall and strong with a lean build Midnight is much bigger than many of the Native American wrestlers that have came before him like the Strongbows, Cheif Wahoo McDaniel and Tatanka. I would compare his style to someone like a young Sting...He's strong, has a good look and is very atheltic and energetic in the ring. He loves to use chops, a double stomp off the top rop and of course the bow and arrow submission. Midnight's finisher is his own version of HHH's pedigree...Midnight came into prominance in the NBW as litterally over night journy. He appeared a few times demolishing preliminary competition and was then entered in a battle royal with the winner to get a shot at TV Champion Bobby McGee (Bobby had both the tv and world title at the time as was going to have to eventually give one title up anyway)...Midnight won the battle royal last eliminating no less a superstar than Michael Ash and then went on to demolish McGee and capture the TV title. Bobby has avoided Midnight at all costs since then and used Tiger Senshu to protect his World Title. Senshu went after Midnight and injured the big mans knee (another Sting like thing) . Midnight tried to come back to soon and was easy pray for Senshu's submission attacks and lost the TV Belt in the process. Midnight is still seeking a World title shot against McGee but with Byron in charge it is doubtful that it will happen. Recently fell for one of Byron's ploys to turn Midnight against a new ally in Jason Davis. The plan worked and Midnight has been side tracked in a few with Davis since then. Not the greatest interview, best to let most of his talking be done in the ring where he really gets his character over.

Seth Fusion-(Cocky, Hot Headed Rookie-face)

-This guy thinks he's the world's greatest wrestler and God's gift to women to boot. You would think that this kind of attitude would clash with Fusion's mentor "Pretty Boy" Trent Lewis who is also been a known primadonna over the years, but the two seemingly have so much in common that they can't help but get along. Lewis, who has now branched out into an acting career in his spare time admits "Fusion reminds me so much of myself when I broke in 7 years ago that its just scary. There's an uncanny resemblance.." A firey competitor in the ring much like Chris Jericho, Fusion shocked the world when he pinned NBW World Champ Bobby McGee for the world's title to become the youngest wrestler and (only rookie) to capture the NBW Title. The young Fusion was goaded into the match by Byron and Bobby McGee when it appeared that Lewis had no showed a Monday Night Rukus event (it was later revealed that the McGees were responsible for changing Lewis' plane tickets, rerouting him so he would miss the show...) The McGee's looked to have everything going their way until Lewis showed up at the last second and helped his young protege win. Fusion lost the belt back to Bobby a few short weeks later but proved that anything can happen on any given day in NBW...There may still be some professional jealousy between the two as Lewis has never held a NBW title...but thus far it has only made both men better through the competitive drive they have to out do one another. Also a former TV Champion having had some of the greatest ever NBW matches against Tiger Senshu. Currently may be looking towards tag title shots with Lewis against Kincade and Levrone.
