Growing up Lisa was always told she'd go on to being an entertainer, but she never imagined being a sports-entertainer. Lisa gradated from college with a degree in marketing. Just as she got out of college she became a professional cheerleader for the U.S.F.L.'s Los Angeles Express.
Lisa left her cheerleading position and became a Revlon model. The beauty was still unsatisfied. Luckily for her, one of her former cheerleading buddies began talking to her about GLOW auditions. Moretti agreed, and she went along with her friend to try out for David McLain's, now dead, GLOW. At the age of 20, Lisa was just beginning her wrestling career.
Lisa's journey to becoming a star began in a crappy gym in Watts, California. The ladies who trained with her, to prepare for GLOW had to be escorted in and out of the gym by armed security guards. Watts was so dangerous that the future GLOW girls were ALWAYS supervised by security guards. The ladies were all trained by longtime mat vet, Mondo Guerrero.
Lisa became Tina Ferrari and quickly won the hearts of GLOW fans. Tina became champion of the company, and of the fans. But GLOW began to wear thing. Fans stopped watching, and with the ladies wrestling at least three matches a night, most began to realize they couldn't handle it. But unlike the rest of the girls, Lisa loved every minute of it.
While still in GLOW, Moretti became involved in other wrestling promotions. She was invited to join McLain's newer federation, Powerful Women of Wrestling (POWW). In GLOW she went under the name Tina Ferrari, while in POWW she was known as Nina. Moretti became champion in both federations!
In POWW Moretti wrestle some of the greatest female wrestlers around. Ladies such as Bambi (Selina Majors), Heidei Lee Morgan, Luna Vacahon, and former WWF Women's Champion, Wendi Richters, all stepped into the ring with Nina.
GLOW was shutting down, so Lisa joined the POWW full time. Lisa told RAW Magazine that as she began wrestling for other promotions, she was known as just "one of those GLOW girls." Girls backstage would show her no respect, until they wrestled her.
Lisa got her big break in February of 1999. The WWF gave her a ring while they toured California. They wanted to use Lisa as one of the Godfather's ladies. She was more then happy to give the WWF a hand, even if it wasn't for a fulltime contract. So she made one appearance as one of Godfather's "hos." Shortly after, Jim Ross got a hold of a tape from Moretti's GLOW days. She received another call from the WWF, this time offering her a five year contract.
Moretti became Ivory, and made her debut on a special Saturday addition of Raw (Feb. 13, 1999). She was introduced as Mark Henry's new love interest. At the time, Mark and D'Lo were feuding with the late Owen Hart, Jeff Jarrett, and their valet, Debra.
Ivory quickly marked her territory. She attacked Debra every change she got. She also kept herself busy with Terri and Jacqueline, of PMS. Ivory helped pick up the WWF's women's division. She helped a lot more when she won the WWF's Women's Title from, then champion, Debra. That night, not only did Ivory separate herself from Mark & D'Lo, but she also made a heel turn for the first time in her career. In a recent interview Ivory stated that she had always wanted to be a heel, and says it's much more fun.
When the arena turned purple, and the sight of Ivory's purple scarf was visible the fans would boo at the top of their lungs. They couldn't stand the woman who called them "morons" and "perverts."
But just days after becoming women's champion, Ivory claimed there was no competition. So the diva began challenging fans. Week after week, until she got a response from one of the ladies in the back. Tori decided to get a piece of Ivory. The two went back and forth, fighting in three quit memorible matches.
The first being the first ever female hardcore match. Not only was it an outstanding match, but fans earned a lot more respect for both ladies. Ivory did manage to retain her title, and sent Tori to the hospital after busting a mirror over her head.
They went head to head again, this time in a non-title evening gown match. Tori was refusing to wear an evening gown, and came to the ring in simply a white shirt. Ivory stormed to the ring in her usual... purple! Sure enough, when Tori was able to defeat Ivory, and strip her to her bra and panties!
Ivory and Tori met again, this time in a plain wrestling match at the WWF's SummerSlam. Ivory once again defeated Tori, and retained her title.
Ivory then began starting an alliance with Jeff Jarrett, and a feud with WWF legend, Moolah. Ivory eventually lost the title belt to Moolah, with help from Mae Young. Thankfully Ivory picked the title back up, and began her second reign as the champion.
Ivory then began to hang around, with no strong feuds. She did met Jacqueline in a Gravy Match on a special Thanksgiving edition of Smackdown. Ivory lost the match, and because of it she attacked the special guest referee, The Kat. Kat then began "chocking" on something when an EMT, later announced as B.B., saved her. Ivory then attacked B.B. as well. She tore her shirt off and tossed her into the gravy pit.
That lead to a small feud between the four ladies. Much to the delight of the male WWF fans, they met in a four way Evening Gown Match for the WWF Women's Title. Ivory did lose her title, after The Kat stripped her down to her bra and panties!
But Ivory remained on TV, and challenged Kat to a No DQ match on WWF Smackdown. Kat accepted, and had her "Master" Chyna, woman handle Ivory, allowing Kat a quick victory.
To her dismay, Ivory made an appearance at the Royal Rumble Bikini Contest. After that pay per view event, Ivory was taken off television for a while. The WWF wanted to train her as a color commentator.
She did however have the chance to co-host WrestleMania All Day Long. This gave off even more possibilities of her leaving the boots behind, and grabbing a mic full time.
Luckily that didn't happen, and she continued her work in the ring. She formed a short partnership with Crash Holly, for one night. She also formed a one night partnership with Lo Down.
Another short feud the WWF put her in was against Dean Malenko. Ivory and Jacqueline teamed up to take on Dean Malenko. The feud was to continue for at least a month or so, but for unknown reasons it was cut short.
Ivory then sat on the sidelines while the WWF pushed untalented superstars such as Lita and Trish Stratus. Ivory was still on the road, and wrestled house shows against Jackie.
Luckily for the fiery femme fatal the WWF came up with a perfect angel fore her. She became the RTC's first, and only, female member. She was introduced on an episode of RAW, after Trish and Lita cat- fighted in a "Street Fight." (I always thought street fights were hardcore matches, but I suppose they are slutfests!) That night Ivory cut a great promo about Steven showing her the light. She then quickly began a feud with Lita. Ivory took the title from Lita, becoming a three time WWF Women's Champion.
Ivory also began feuds with Chyna and Jacqueline. Val Venis, fellow RTC member, took out Chyna, with some help from Ivory. The two delivered a spike piledriver, causing Chyna to be "paralyzed." She's also brought up old flames with new APA member, Jacqueline.
