ECW News and Rumors

- At a recent meeting in Danbury, Connecticut, with the ECW wrestlers, Paul Heyman assured them that the company would be completely caught up on payroll within the next month, as they were still a week behind. He also told them that the company was not going out of business and said that there were big things in the works which hang on the outcome of the WWF vs. USA Network court case. In addition, he said that one way or another, he believes ECW will have a new television home in the coming months and reiterated his take on the changing TV landscape. Furthermore, he gave the wrestlers advice on dealing with the media by telling them that he doesn't discourage anyone from talking to them, but he asked them to think about how it would affect the company and families of the wrestlers; he also pushed the wrestlers on the record, assuring them that they won't get in trouble as long as they spoke the truth. Also, Heyman denied the Internet reports about Balls Mahoney and/or New Jack asking him about the late PPV bonuses at the last meeting.

- Justin Credible and Raven missed the recent Danbury television taping. Credible missed the show due to the death of his father-in-law last week after a long battle with cancer. Raven missed his second straight television taping because of an ankle injury. He offered to appear at the show, but he told Paul Heyman that he was unable to wrestle. Heyman told Raven to take the weekend off and do his best to be at the recent Milwaukee television taping. As of today, management still hasn't given Raven his release papers.

- Scotty Anton vs. Rob Van Dam has been added to the 7/16 Heatwave 2000 PPV. The Sandman vs. Rhino may be added to the card as well, but nothing is official concerning that at the moment.

- Due to the recent TV tapings back-to-back in Milwaukee and in Chicago, ECW won't be taping next weekend's shows for TV in Kansas City, Missouri, and Wichita, Kansas.

- There is talk about a two-day tournament in Manhattan, New York, to crown new ECW Tag-Team Champions.

- Axl Rotten is calling ECW officials in hopes of getting his job back, but the company is still uninterested in him.

- Although FMW made good on the money they owed ECW by sending in Masato Tanaka to the last PPV, both companies haven't spoken since. He probably won't be at the upcoming PPV, in part also due to the fact that there might not be any space for him on the card.

- ECW sold over 2,250 tickets on the opening day sales for the 7/16 Heatwave PPV in Los Angeles, California.

- Yoshihiro Tajiri's one-year work visa expires on June 29 and is currently being renewed.

- Paul Heyman said that he expects Super Crazy to return in a week or two.

- ECW management is interested in bringing in Psicosis for the Heatwave PPV.

- Jason was backstage in Danbury, Connecticut, at the television tapings. He visited friends and tried to arrange a meeting with Paul Heyman, but he left before Heyman had time to meet with him.

- Balls Mahoney got into an altercation with a fan outside the building in Salem, Massachusetts. Apparently, Balls was posing for pictures in the parking lot and a fan asked him which hurts more, blading his forehead or blading his arm. Balls got upset and "pie-faced" the fan. As he was leaving in his car, the fan yelled something at Balls, which further upset him. Balls then ran after the car and yelled something at the fan as he sped out of the parking lot. Balls isn't very popular in the locker room. Many say that he tries extremely hard to be friendly, but he is unpopular nonetheless. This could be the reason why he is booked on many FMW tours, but his defenders say that FMW officials are said to be high on his work.
