The Nucci Years-1998-2000

In 1997 Pinelands hired former Toms River North wrestler, Rob Nucci to rebuild the wrestling program. Nucci, a former coach at Howell brought his former teammate, Sean Reilly into the district from TRNorth to help him return Pinelands to the glory days. Pinelands has been progressing and was highlighted with the performance of Levi McVey in 1999. Levi won his second straight District 24 title and placed 3rd in the Region,he later defeated Nick Catone(4th in state) before losing the Scott Garren at Atlantic City. This years team is led by Andrew Seprevivo and Brendan Barrett, who brought home gold at both the Nottingham and Mid South tournaments. Coach Nucci would move to Raritan where his teams would win State Sectional titles and he would be honored as District Coach of the Year.
