Hardy Boyz vs. Essa Rios & Eddy Guerrero (with Lita & Chyna)
A truly superb match! To start things off, Eddy and Essa attacked the Boyz, Eddy tossing Matt from the ring so that he and his partner could doubleteam Jeff. Eddy threw Essa into Jeff in a corner, where Rios executed a dropkick. Essa and Eddy then choked him in succession. Afterward, Guerrero executed a side-suplex, then threw Jeff from the ring, directly in front of Chyna. The Ninth Wonder of the World, Eddy's mamacita, delivered a fierce-looking forearm right into Jeff's face. As Jeff got back into the ring, more doubleteaming ensued. Essa delivered another dropkick and Eddy followed this with a flying headbutt from the apron.
After suffering more abuse, Jeff managed to catch Eddy in a nice tilt-a-whirl slam, then executed a dropkick. He then got to his corner and tagged Matt, who swerved away from a dropkick from Rios, and delivered a backbody drop to Guerrero. Afterward, he tossed Essa from the ring to the floor, where Jeff connected with a crossbody block. Matt suplexed Eddy while Jeff then went up on the top turnbuckle for a Swanton Bomb. He didn't get to do the maneuver, however, because Chyna jumped up on the apron and, in a very mean gesture, grabbed a "handful of Jeff Hardy." After that, the Ninth Wonder shoved Jeff, crotching him on the top rope.
Meanwhile, Matt hammered away on Eddy in the ring. After momentarily squirming free, Eddy leapt at him, but Matt moved out of the way. However, he didn't see Essa, who had perched upon the turnbuckle behind him. Rios caught him with a moonsault. Then, Eddy tossed Essa over the top rope, where Rios flung himself at Jeff. Both men landed on the floor in a heap.
At this point, the referee was on the outside, arguing with Chyna. Eddy grabbed Matt and signaled for Lita to come join the action. As Guerrero slammed the Hardy Boy, Essa's sidekick climbed up top to deliver a moonsault. While Matt rolled away, Eddy just stood in place and Lita nailed him! As Lita stared at the fallen Guerrero in confusion, Matt got to his feet and kicked her from the ring. Matt then grabbed Eddy and delivered the Twist of Fate to gain the three-count for the victory.
Afterward, a furious
Chyna yelled at Essa for Lita's actions (Lita was smart enough to have
fled the scene at this point) and then took her anger out on him, powerbombing
him hard to the mat. Chyna and Eddy then kicked Rios before walking
away from the ring.
