Come on in*
by TDG
“Come on in,” Matt sighed looking at Delia with a black eye and a busted lip, “so what happened this time?” “I don’t want to talk about it. Can I just stay here for the night?” Delia was too ashamed to look in his eyes. “Sure you can, but what happens when I am not here, who will you run to?” “It will be ok Matt. It’s not a big deal…” “NOT A BIG DEAL,” Matt shouted and caused Delia to jump. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Delia you must leave him. He treats you like crap. You know where you should be.” She turned towards the window. The stars where shining so brightly. Delia was from DC, which is so covered with so much smog, that you can’t see the stars. She wrapped her arms around herself. “If I leave him, he will hurt me.” Matt came up behind her, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her neck, “He has already hurt you.” He slowly stroked his hands up and down her arms. “No he will hurt me another way.” “What?” Matt looked at Delia completely confused. “He will hurt you.” She said looking down at the ground whispering.
“He has already hurt me.” “Matt…when…why…tell me…” Delia was in complete shock.
“Every time I see you with a bruise, crying, or the fact that he got you first.” Matt put his finger under Delia’s chin. He directed it so she would look straight into his eyes. “That is how he hurts me. That is how he is killing me. I don’t know how long I can help you and still love you. Leave him…Please.” “I am scared and he had his good…” “Just go back to him. You will anyway. I can’t stand this. I know you love me. I can protect you from him, if you let me. I can love you without pain. Just leave. Tell me that you love me and you will leave.” Matt looked into her eyes desperately, with a hope he could hear what he wanted to hear.
“I love you, you know that but…” “Stay on the couch. Good night.” Matt said shortly and coldly. “I can’t take it. My heart is dying slowly.” He thought to himself. As he went to lie down, he heard Delia sobbing. She knew what was right but she had always given Shawn another chance. They had been together since high school. Her tears went through Matt’s heart like a sword. No matter how hard he tried, he could never ignore her when she cried. He came out of his room and into the living room. “Come in here with me. Come on. I’m not mad at you. I’m just frustrated with you.” She followed him towards his room, when he grabbed her arm and pulled her towards the bathroom. “Let me clean off your face. Hopefully, the swelling will go down, so you can go right back to him pretending that nothing even happened.” She started to tremble with that idea of going back to Shawn in her head. As he put a rag in warm water and put it up against her lip, she pulled back quickly because of the slight shock of pain. “Sorry, I though you would be use to it by now.” Matt said with a small grin.
“Yeah, me too.” Delia smiled back at him. She looked into his dark eyes and caressed her hand on his cheek. She took her finger and ran it across his soft, full lips. She wanted to kiss him, more than anything in the world. “Delia don’t.” “What’s wrong?”
“I can’t do that unless you stay…for good.” As he examined her black eye, he said, “So what happened this time.” “He got mad because I wouldn't give my virginity to him. So he assumed that I had already given it to you. Then he started calling me a whore and a bitch. He asked me would I rather be with you. I guessed I took too much time thinking about it.”
“So do you?” Matt said with his eyebrow raised.
“Do I what?” “Would you rather be with me?”
She sighed deeply and looked straight into his eyes, “Yes.” Delia started to cry. “Shawn was right, I am a whore.” Matt head rose quickly. “Don’t you dare say that. You are not a whore. You know what you want. So do it.”
“Do what?” She said to him with an attitude.
“LEAVE!”
“Matt, you don’t underst…”
“I don’t want to understand, Delia, the only thing I want is you. I will get you something to wear for the night. You can come in the room when you are ready.” She got undressed in the bathroom. As she took off of her clothes she got a glimpse of her body in the mirror. She saw the bruises from head to toe. If Matt saw her with these bruises, he would kill Shawn for sure. A knocked quietly tapped on the door. Delia jumped because she was afraid that Matt was going to come in. She ran behind the door. “Just drop the clothes. Don’t come in.” Matt dropped the clothes at the door. “The clothes are there. I am going to bed.”
She waited until she heard complete silence. She wrapped a towel around herself and opened the door. As she reached for the black shirt with 2XTREME written across the front, Matt grabbed her had and pulled her out of the bathroom. As his eyes ran across her battered frame, tears started to build like waterfalls. “Why in the hell didn’t you tell me. I can’t believe what he has done to you. Have you looked at your body? Delia, does he have to kill you to make you see that he will never change.” Matt ran his finger through his hair and looked at her. “Come here.”
“Matt, I just want to sleep.”
“NOW!” He pulled her into the bathroom and put her in front of the mirror. “Look at your reflection and tell me that you love him.” She tried to leave but grabbed her and slammed the door. “Look at your face. Tell me that you love him.” She looked at the wall. He grabbed her chin and made her look, “Delia, look damn it. Tell me that you love him.” She looked at herself and said softly, “I don’t know.”
“Well until you know, this will be the last time you come here. Crying won’t stop my decision this time.” She looked at her eyes in the mirror and started to think. “Why does he even give a damn? If Matt loves me so much, then why does he keep forcing me? Why doesn’t he just let me stay? I am such an idiot. Why do I stay with Shawn when Matt will love me…the right way? Why do I keep going back? Why do I constantly keep hurting Matt? There are so many of his fans that would love to be in this bathroom and on their way to his bedroom. I have him and he loves me. I love him. Why does Shawn control me so much?”
“Delia, are you ok?” Matt said getting her out of her train of thought. She shook her head to get back to the senses.
“I’m ok.” She put on the shirt that barely came to her thigh. She walked down the hallway and into his room. The door creaked as she opened it causing Matt to turn, “You looked adorable like that.”
“Can I lie next to you?” Delia said looking at Matt as if it were her last request. Matt took a deep sigh. “Matt, please, then I won’t bother you again.”
“Yes, you can.” Matt turned on his side, turning his back towards her. His chest, back, and arms looked magnificent in the moon light. She realized that all he had on was a pair of boxers. She lied next to him. He had his back turned, trying to ignore her presence. She started to run her fingers down his back. She wanted to kiss his spine and neck slowly.
“Delia, don’t. I can’t handle this right now. I think it is best if we both go to sleep.”
“Matt, I am sorry. If you don’t want me here, I will just leave but I do lo…” “If you say that, you will have to leave.”
“Why?”
“You can’t say you love me and then hurt me by going to that asshole of a boyfriend.” Delia turned her back towards Matt’s. She stated to shake a cool breeze was blowing through the room. She stroked briskly her arms up and down to keep them warm. Next, she felt Matt turning towards her. He wrapped his large, strong arms around her. He felt a sudden rush of heat flow through her body. Then the spooned her, pressing her body close to his. He swept her hair to one side and put is face close against her neck. He placed his hands into hers.
“Good night Delia.”
“Good night Matt.”
“I pray you will be here tomorrow…and forever.”
“Me, too,” Delia then whispered to herself, “But it is not that easy.”
Come on in*
Part 2
“Me, too,” Delia then whispered to herself, “But it is not that easy.”
Delia rested her head on the pillow looking at right side Matt. He was lying on his back with the covers waist high, while using his right hand to prop up his head. All she could think about was kissing his chest slowly. Rubbing her fingers through his hair. Feeling his erection inside of her, but was she wrong for thinking this way when she had a boyfriend.
“What?” Matt questioned with is eyes closed.
“Excuse me?”
“You are staring at me. I can always tell when you stare at me. What is on your mind?”
“Nothing.”
“So you are going to lie to me.”
“No, I’m not lying.”
Matt starting laughing, “Double negative, you are lying. What are you thinking?”
“Can I rest my head on your chest?”
“Does this mean you’ll stay?”
Delia laid in silence. Then, “Why do you keep asking me this? I can’t answer you.”
“Make up your mind by morning, so you can make it easier for the both of us.”
“Make it easier for me.” Delia put her hand on his chest, looking at him with needing eyes.
Looking directly into her eyes, he grinned, “Come on.” Delia’s head melted into Matt’s firm chest as if it was made for her. The wrapped her arms around his trim waist. Matt wrapped his arm around her and squeezed her tightly. Matt thought to himself, “Keep the moment because she will never leave him. She cares about you and loves him. But she says she love me. What do I do? Well…if you love some thing let it go. If it comes back it is yours. But Delia has come back again and again. What should I do? I hate this so much. I love her but this is killing me.” Delia sat up on the bed, placed her right hand on Matt’s left facial check, kissed him slowly. While she turned his face towards her, Matt grabbed the back of her head, pulled her down to his lips, and kissed her deeply, heated, and passionately like he always wanted, too. Delia was swept into his thick, soft lips. “Do you see what you’re missing when you’re with him, and not with me.”
Delia was still in the moment of the kiss. Her eyes were closed and lips puckered. She buried her face into the side of his neck, continuing to stroke his chest.
In the middle of the night, Delia became thirsty. She cautiously release herself from Matt’s lock around her waist. She tried not to wake him. She could tell he need the rest from long work schedule. He was snoring louder than a tiger’s roar. She tip-toed to the kitchen and got a glass of water. s she was pouring the water from the bottle into the glass, it slipped from her fingers. As the bottle fell to the floor, she let out a high pitch screech. Matt sprang up from bed fearing the worst. Fearing that Shawn was there. He peeked around the corner for find Delia cleaning the water from the floor. He went back to bed with a burden lifted off of his shoulders. He laid on his stomach, curled up with his pillow. As Delia was on her way back to the bed with her glass of water, she noticed her two way was flashing a message. Her two way read, “Call Shawn, soon, please. I’m sorry.” Delia just stared at the message. She wonder if she should send a message back. She started to type a message when, “Dee, where are you?”
“I am in the living room. Matt, I will be there in a second.” She typed Shawn a message reading, “I am not coming back, I can’t.” As she was walking back to Matt’s bathroom, her two way started to beep again. Matt heard it and began to act as if he was sleeping. Delia thought Matt was sleep so she read the message out loud. “Delia please call me. At least let me say good bye. I deserve that much.”
Matt thought, “Please don’t call him. He will just bring himself back into our life.” Delia picked up the phone and called Shawn. Matt wished he could hear the crap that spewed from Shawn’s mouth.
“Hello is Shawn home?”
“Of course I am home Delia, the only question I have is…why aren’t you?”
“I was scared of what you might do. You went crazy. I couldn’t stay and I can’t go back anymore.” Delia’s words lifted Matt’s heart.
“Shawn…Shawn…Shawn?”
“I am still hear.”
“Are you crying?”
“What do you think? The woman I love more than anything, including myself is leaving me. I have tried so hard to keep you by my side. You tell me you would always be there for me. You are a liar.”
“Shawn please let me ex…”
“Explain what? Why you are tearing me up inside.” Delia started to sob. Matt knew that Shawn was starting to change Delia’s mind about staying with him. So he snuggled up next to her and started to grumble, so she would notice he was there. She put the phone on her lap. She thought that he had fallen asleep, so she kissed his forehead.
“Delia...Dee…Are you there…HELLO”
“I am here, Shawn. Bruises and all.”
“Delia, I am sorry about that. I got jealous. I just want you to myself. Where are you?”
“Where am I?”
“Are you with that asshole Matthew?” Delia could hear the anger in his voice.
“Don’t call him that.” Matt interest perked up to what Delia was responding to.
“He is a pompous, arrogant, self-righteous, idiot who only wants to sleep with you. You will just be another groupie to him.” Delia know that he was growing furious.
“That is not true.”
Shawn yelled, “Plus he only like blondes. And if you looked in the mirror lately you will see that you are not a blonde. You couldn’t even pull it off. You are black nothing more. You need to stick to your own kind. He only wants you as a bed warmer. Nothing has changed from the past. They still want our women for one thing.”
“Just shut up. I don’t want to talk anymore. Good bye.”
“Delia wait. I sorry. I can’t stand it when you are around him. He just want something I have. When you are around him, it feels like he is stealing something from me. He is taking the one thing in the world that is important to my life. Why can’t you see that? Every second you are with him is a hour of torture for me.
I love you. I want to marry you.”
With a look of shock on her face, “You want to marry me?” Matt’s heart died at that moment. He knew she was gone.
“Yes, Delia I want to marry you.”
“If you love me and want to marry me than why do you beat on me?” Matt laid there think, “Yes, the perfect question. What can he possibly say to that?”
“Delia, I just get angry at all the things I can’t control, so I try to control you. Sometimes I see other guys looking at you and think that if I did something to alter your pretty face, maybe they wouldn’t want you. But they always see right through that. Just open your heart to me. Love is so hard to find. Who else can say they love you so much, it kills them to see you with anyone else.” Delia looked back at Matthew. She knew Matt felt that way. “Delia just one more try. I am getting help. I have been for 2 weeks. Just stick it out with me.” Shawn was completely in tears. “Please Dee. I know you can’t see me but I am on my knees.” Delia started to cry softly. Matt’s heart sunk to the floor. She was gone.
“I will come home in the morning, Shawn.”
“Thank you so much. Everything will be better. I promise, but come home tonight.”
“No, I have some things to take care of first.”
“Like what?”
“I have some of my stuff over Matt’s house, I have to get them packed up.”
“Good night.”
“Good night.” Delia got out of bed and went to the living room. She thought it would not be right to stay with Matt. As soon as she feel asleep, Matt walked into the living room with tears falling from his eyes. He knew he lost the love of his life. He pulled the cover over her arms. He thought, “She will catch cold.” Kissed her softly. He walked back to his bedroom. Matt thought, “I have never lost sight of anything I have ever wanted, I won’t lose sight now. I will have Delia by my side. No matter what it takes.
The next morning, Delia got in the shower, she felt a hand rub her right about her bikini area. She jumped with so much fear that she dropped her body shampoo. Shaking, she turned slowly and saw…
Come On In
Part 3
Shaking, she turned slowly and saw Matthew examining every inch of her body with his eyes. He approved of what he saw. Her curves, lines, and innocence turned him on. But, she felt uncomfortable, with him starring at her. All she could think about were her bruises. Then, she noticed that Matt was standing in front of her completely naked. She went to place her hand on his chest, and suddenly he grabbed her wrist. He directed her hands to go lower. Just as she was about to touch his manhood, Matt grabbed Delia by the waist and lifted her into the air. Before she knew what happened, she was sandwiched between the shower tiles and Matt. Deep down, she didn’t want to escape. Matt’s lips were pressed tightly against hers, his hand cupping her breast, while his other hand was circling her vagina. She gasped deeply from excitement. She never wanted anyone as much as she wanted him then. She felt his large, erect penis rub up against her.
“Please Matthew, take me.”
Matthew kissed her softly and whispered in her ear, “Sure, I’ll take you…I will take you back to Shawn’s house.” Matt slowly placed her back on to her feet. He turned the shower faucet to cold and handed Delia the shower head. “You might need this.” Matt wrapped a towel around himself and left. Delia stood in the shower, naked, shaken, hot, with a shower head in her hand. She took the shower head and placed it above her face. She had to get over Matthew’s control over her body before she left and went back to Shawn.
Delia stepped out of the shower and looked at herself in the mirror. She realized that those few seconds with Matthew were more incredible than all of the time her and Shawn spent together. She also knew that the thought of going back to Shawn, not only scared her, but made her sick. She started to have flash backs of all the beatings, and, strangely some of the good times. Then, she thought about Matt and the time they spent together. She thought only about fun, happiness, and excitement. She knew something had to be done. And it must be done now.
She put on a pair of stretch jeans and a two-sizes-too-big “Fear is only a four letter word” shirt. She headed down the steps to Matthew’s weight room. When she entered the 400 sq. ft., wall-to-wall mirrored, ceiling TV’s, and exercise machines galore room, Matt was doing butterfly presses. She watched his well toned chest muscles flex. Matt hoped that he had changed her mind or delayed her from leaving again. He prayed that she wasn’t saying good bye.
Delia straddled herself onto his lap and kissed him lightly.
“Matthew, you know how much I love you…”
“But…”
“And you know what happened in the shower was incredible..”
“But…”
“And I want to stay with you.” Matthew went into a state of disbelief as he released the weights.
“So, you are staying for good.”
“As long as you still want to have me.”
“Of course I do, sweetheart.” Matthew kissed Delia and held her tight as if she was his first teddy bear. She tried to hold in the pain from the bruises. Soon his comforting smile made her forget all the pain.
“So why don’t we celebrate by…” Then Matt’s beeper went off. Matt looked had the screen to see if it was important.
“It’s Jeff, I have to go take this.” Matt tapped Delia on her leg, so she would get up Matt walked to the phone as Delia followed.
“It’s OK. I have to leave anyway.”
“Where? To the store?”
“No, back to Shawn’s house.”
Matthew turned his head around so fast, Delia was sure he received whiplash. “What are you going over there for.”
“To get my things and so I can stay here. Don’t worry Shawn won’t be there. He works from 9 in the morning to 6 at night. I am leaving at 10 and should be back by 12. I will be ok.”
“Yeah, you will be ok, because I will be with you.”
“Matthew you don’t have to come.”
“Yes I do.” Matt started to dial Jeff’s number. “Hey little bro.”
“Hey how are you?”
“Great and you”
“A little tired.”
“From what?”
“Working in the yard all night.”
“You finally get a break, and you work.”
“Well that’s me.”
“So, why did you page me 911.”
“Vince wants to see us at his North Carolina offices at 10 in the morning.”
“Are you serious, can’t it be settled for another time.”
“No, he said we pushed this back long enough. We have to meet now and sign all of our new contracts.”
“Fine, I will go.”
“What you got something better to do.”
“Yeah”
“WHAT!?!”
“Delia has decided to stay with me.”
“Really why, did you blackmail her.” Jeff said jokingly
“No I threaten her with one of your jokes.”
“Bye, Jimmy legs.”
“Bye, Willow the Wisp.” Matt hung up to phone. He knew he couldn’t leave Delia alone in Shawn’s house. But, these contracts have to be signed today. Or his alliance with the WWF will have to be negotiated. He had to try to get Delia to negotiate. “Delia, why don’t you wait to leave.”
“I can’t. It is the only time I can do everything I need to do and get out before he comes back.” Matt grew more concerned with all of the things that could happen.
“Please just wait an hour. So I can take care of business.”
“No, I don’t want to chance anything. Go take care of your business and meet me at Shawn’s house. Ok?”
“Fine, but don’t leave without me. Take my cell phone just in case. I have my car phone and Jeff will be there, too.”
“What about Amy?”
“She already took care of her contracts. Sorry sweetheart but I have to leave.”
“Bye. See you in an hour or two.”
After the contracts were over, Jeff and Matt walked to the parking lot. With big smiles on their faces. Jeff said, “Man, we earned that raise. I can’t wait to go home and celebrate.”
“Why don’t you come to my new place. We can celebrate their.”
“Ok, I will bring my girl and Amy.”
“Great see you later.”
“Bye”
Jeff drove off on his motorcycle as Matt jumped into his car. Matt tried to call Delia, but she did not turn on his phone. He tried to call Jeff, but Jeff did not pick up. Jeff was thinking completely on work, life, and poetry. He didn’t notice the stick in the road. He drove right over it and lost complete control of his bike. He slammed on the breaks. He flipped into the air and landed on his back. Jeff wasn’t moving.
While all this was going on, Delia was steady packing, putting items in newspaper, and mark big items for storage. She heard the door slam down stairs. “I’m in the bedroom come on up, so you can help me.” She kept at work when she felt to large arm wrap themselves around her. “So, are you going to help me or watch me.”
“I would rather help you out of those clothes and watch you dance.” Delia was alarmed because this wasn’t Matt. It was Shawn.
“Shawn, what are you doing here?”
“You said you would be home today and I wanted to surprise…Dee, you have too many boxes to be moving in. What’s going on?”
“I am just going out of town.”
“No you aren’t. I checked your credit card statements online and your bank statements, too. WHAT IS GOING ON?”
“I have to go to the store real quick.” As she walked out the bedroom, Shawn grabbed her arm and slammed her against the wall. “Look at me Delia,” his grip was tighter, “Are you moving out?”
“yes.” Delia whispered. Then, she tried to run, but Shawn threw her into the wall. “YOU ARE LEAVING ME FOR HIM, AREN’T YOU.” He punched her in the stomach, then the ribs, continued to the face. “ARE YOU STILL LEAVING? I WILL KILL YOU BEFORE I LET YOU GO.”
“Then kill me. I love Matt because he loves me, not because I fear him.” Shawn screamed in total rage. He tossed Delia to the floor, kicked her in the face. She heard something pop. With a muffled cry, “Please stop, please.”
“YOU WANT ME TO STOP HURTING, WHEN ALL YOU DO IS HURT ME. YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL AS BAD AS I FEEL.” He continued to stomp on her arms and legs. He picked her up off the floor and tossed her down the steps.” Shawn, looked down at her for a few minutes and realized what he had done. Delia was laying at the bottom of the stairs without any movement.
Matt was on his way out of the door. He wanted to hurry to Delia, before Jeff came over. On his way out the door, the phone rang. “Hello”
“Hello, is this Mr. Matthew Hardy.”
“Yes, who is this?”
“This is Nurse Davis. You were listed as an emergency number. We must inform you to come to the Raleigh Medical Center, now. Some thing bad happened”
Come On In
Part 4
“To who? My dad? Jeff? Amy? Delia? Who?”
“Sir it’s Jeff.”
“Oh, god, what happened? I just saw him 30 minutes ago. Please tell me that he is alive.” Every moment of Matt’s life with Jeff flashed right in front of him. He couldn’t imagine his life without Jeff. He thought, “I should have been there. He is my little baby brother. I should have stopped him. Protected him. But…Jeff is like a hurricane. Nothing and no one can stop him.”
“Mr. Hardy, your brother is alive, please come to the hospital.”
“I am on my way right now,” Matt said in a nervous voice. Matt thought about when he taught Jeff baseball, watched him do his first Swanton bomb, being there when their mom passed, and watching him graduate. He knew that Jeff loved danger and love to tempt fate, also, he even tries to challenge death. Matt realized he was in front of the hospital. Matt walked in and gave his name to the attendant.
“Yes, Mr. Hardy. Your…?” The attendant looking at Matt for the answer because she wasn’t sure.
“Brother.”
“Yes, your brother is on the third floor.”
“Thanks.” Matt onto the elevator. He thought, “The nurse said he wasn’t dead, he could be hurt bad. Even paralyzed. Jeff could never take that. No…I can’t thank like that. He could just have a sprained ankle. Why wouldn’t he just give up the dirt bikes and the motorcycles like I asked him? Of course, he is Jeff Hardy. My baby bother. Why wasn’t I looking after him like I was set out to do?” Tears started to form in Matt’s eyes when the elevator doors opened up. He walked out and asked one of the nurses, “Where is my brother?”
“Sir, what is your brother’s name?”
“Jeff Hardy, now where is he?”
“He is in room 342.”
Matt ran to find the room. He saw ROOM 342 printed over the door. He prepared himself for the worse and walked in. Jeff was lying on his stomach with a nurse fluffing is pillows. “Jeff…Jeff…?” Matt said while entering the room.
“Sir, I am nurse Davis, we spoke on the phone.”
“Yes…I remember what is going on.”
“Your brother was riding his back and…”
Jeff interrupted, “Please let me tell him. I love telling the cool stories.” Matt smiled when he heard his voice. Matt walked around to his brother face and notice his back was bruised badly. He sat next to Jeff in the bed.
“So tell me this COOL story.” Matt said with a worried grin.
“You always worry to much. Worry, Worry, Worry that is all you ever do.”
“I worry because you are my little baby bro…”
“You only call me your ‘little baby brother’ when I get sick or hurt. I am not a baby, man. You have got to kill that.”
“As long as I am alive you will always be my baby brother. You were my 3rd birthday gift.”
“Ok, Ok. I know that fighting with you is an uphill battle that never ends. So do you want to hear the story or do you want to keep worrying.”
“Both.”
“I was riding my bike and thinking about something when my bike rolled other something in the road. I didn’t even notice anything there. Next thing I know, I am in the air and I slammed, back first, on to the ground. My back was so stiff I could barely move. All I could do was think. Then, this guy found me and called the ambulance. I was only out there for 10 minutes. It felt like an eternity. It was awful.”
Matt said, “Dad, who called you here?”
“Well, you would think it one of my sons should called me. But a nurse had to call me.”
“Sorry,” Matt and Jeff said collectively.
“I just wanted to get here to be with Jeff, Dad.” Matt said with complete sadness in his heart.
“It is ok, Matthew. I did talk to the nurse and she told me that you will be ok. You just fell 2 feet. I told her that you have done more in your sleep.”
Everyone in the room laughed. “She told me that you will have to take it easy for 2 weeks, then you will be back to nor…well you will be you.” Jeff laughed, and then stopped because of the pain. “She gave me your prescription for…Vicoprofen. YOU WILL TAKE IT.”
“Dad, I hate the way those drugs make me feel. It makes me feel all clouded in that head.”
Then a female voice said, “So what’s different from any other day.”
“Hey baby.” Jeff said.
“Hi, sweetheart.”
“Debbie, who called you?”
“Your dad. What happened to you?”
“Well…”
Matt interrupted, “Before you go on, I am getting something out of the vending machine. Do you want anything?”
“Come on, Matt. You should know my taste buds by now.”
“Fine.” Matt walked to towards the door when it popped open. “Hey, Amy.”
“Hey, Matt…what happened to Jeff.”
“He is about to tell the story again.”
Matt walked to the vending machine, and then he saw Delia’s parents crying in the hallway. He was immediately concerned.
“Mr. Gray what happened?”
“Tiffany was packing her stuff in Shawn’s house for storage and she fell down the steps.”
“Who told you that?”
“That is what Shawn told that EMT.”
“Is Shawn here now?”
“No, he was gone after the EMT left. I wanted to thank him for helping my little girl.” Matt knew Delia’s parents had no idea of what was going on. He wanted to say but he didn’t. Matt was never the type to bite his tongue, but Delia must have kept it from them for a reason. “Can I see her?”
“Sure, Matt, of course, you two are best friends.”
Matt said nothing as he walked into the room. He looked at Delia. She had a black eye, bandages around her ribs, and unconscious. He sat next to her, held her hand, and kissed the back of it. He rubbed her forehead slowly with his thumb and asked Delia, “Why didn’t you just wait for me? Why didn’t you just wait? I love you so much. I need you in my life right now. I am IN love with you.”
“I…am…IN…love…with…you…Matthew.”
Matt’s head popped up when he heard Delia’s soft voice. He kissed her cheek and cried quietly. “So what happened?”
“Shawn came home while I was packing and I told him I would rather be with you then him and he couldn’t take it. So, he took it out on me. I told him that I love you, and no matter what he did, nothing could make me stay.”
“You should have waited.”
“No, I shouldn’t have. I had to stand up to Shawn on my own. If you where there, he just would thought that you were making me do it.”
“That may be true, but why didn’t you tell your parents about what was going on between you and Shawn.”
“I didn’t want them to be ashamed of me and mad at me for not telling them. Plus my dad would kill him.”
“So…let your father kill him, I don’t care, because I will help him.”
“No, Matthew please it is not worth it. How did you know where I was?”
“I bumped into your parents in the hallway, while getting Jeff something to eat.”
“Jeff is here. Tell him to come in.”
“He is a patient here.”
“What…Who…Where?”
“He got into an accident on his bike…”
“Is he…”?
“He is fine. He just has a stiff back. Don’t change the subject. Tell your parents, Delia, they need to know…they had a right to know.”
“Ok, send them in.”
“Fine, I have to bring Jeff something to eat and I will be right back.”
“Ok, I love you.”
“I love you, too.” Matt walked out of the room and told Delia’s parents that, “She is awake and want to talk to you.” He walked to the vending machine and got Jeff some Skittles. He walked to Jeff’s room.
“Matt what took you so long.”
“I, um, I, ah, saw Delia,” you could hear the tears in his voice, “Shawn beat her up real bad.”
“Damn, Matt. I thought she was ok.”
“He came home and pushed her down the steps.”
“Is she ok?”
“She is banged up real bad, but she is speaking and alert.”
“Go be with her”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, big brother, go.”
Matt walked down the hall and heard the arguing going on in Delia’s bedroom. He walked in and, surprised, to get a hug from Delia’s father. “Thank you for saving my daughter. I could never repay you for that.”
“You don’t have to. I love your daughter.”
“She told me. Sorry for the mix up in the hall.”
“No problem. What was all the arguing for?”
“We can’t believe that Delia would be that stupid. I just…”
“She was afraid and confused.” Matt noticed a doctor was in the room. “Sorry doctor. Do you need something?”
“I need to see the patient alone,” the doctor spoke with a Boston accent, “could everyone leave for a second.” The doctor had on a cap, gown, gloves, and facial mask.
“Sure we will leave.”
Soon everyone was gone. Delia looked at the doctor and asked, “What are you going to do…why did everyone have to leave?”
“Well Delia everyone had to leave so we can talk. Talk about us.” She noticed the doctor’s eyes. It was Shawn. He grabbed her call button and covered her mouth. He put a knife to her throat, then…

Come On In
Part 5
He put a knife to her throat, and then he softly kissed her on the cheek. “Dee, I’m sorry that I had to put a knife up to your neck, but I have to make sure you don’t scream. All I want to do is talk.”
Delia started to cry and the heart monitor started to beat faster. “Dee, calm down. I won’t hurt you, if you calm down.” He pushed the knife deeper into her throat, so Delia started to breathe deeply, hoping to slow her heartbeat. “I still love you, Dee. I still want to marry you. I bought you an engagement ring. It is 2 karats with Princess cut, grade A, in a platinum setting. I was going to give it to when you came back home. The only problem is…you want to leave,” Shawn became furious with each word. He started to draw blood with the knife. The burning sensation when through Delia’s body, then she cried.
Shawn kissed her tear away, then took his finger and collects her blood. Shawn took his finger and licked off her blood of it. He got close to her ear and whispered, “Now I have a piece of you in me, you will never leave me.” The thought of it made Delia sick. “I saw Matthew kiss you. YOU ARE A SLUT. I trusted you. Explain yourself? NOW!” Delia was afraid to speak because her Adam’s apple would strap across the knife. She shook her head no. Shawn became enraged, “TALK NOW OR I WILL JAM THIS KNIFE INTO YOUR ARM! With the knife pointed at her arm, Delia said, “Shawn you don’t love me, Matt does.”
“Dee, I do love you. He just wants to sleep with you”
“Then, why are you threatening me with a knife. Matt has done nothing to hurt me, but he has been caring, loving, and understanding.”
“Shut up. You have to understand that you belong to me…and me only,” he put the knife back up to he throat, “Kiss me.” Delia closed her lips tightly as Shawn leaned in to kiss her. As his lips touched Delia’s, he tried to slip his tongue into her mouth. He took his right hand and tried pulling her mouth open. She held it as tight as she could. So, Shawn pushed the blade deeper into her throat. Delia was afraid for her life, so she opened her mouth to let him French kiss her. Delia thought he would never stop. She started to gag from his kiss. He finally lifted off of her, “I have missed your beautiful lips.” He then covered her mouth and took the knife away from her throat.
Delia thought, “Maybe I got through to him…maybe he will leave…please God help me…Matthew where are you?” Shawn licked Delia’s neck slowly and looked dead into her eyes. His grip on her mouth tightens, and he pulled a gun out of his pocket. “Will you stay with me?” Delia did nothing. “Just nod Dee.” Delia shook her head no.” Shawn pulled the hammer back on the gun and asked her, “Now, will you stay with me.” Delia shook her head yes. Then, Shawn put a bandage over the cut on her neck. “I am taking you home.” Shawn swept his arms underneath Delia and tried to pick her up, but she held on to the bed. “Dee, let go now or you will be s…”
“Mr. Gray, I will check on Delia just go get you and your wife something to eat.” Matt said. Shawn dropped Delia and said, “Next time you will come to me or I will get Jeff. I love you.” Then, he sneaked out of the double door bathroom that lead into the next patient hospital room. Matt walked in with a titanic smile on his face that suddenly dropped when he saw Delia’s mouth taped. He quickly ran to her, took the tape off of her mouth, and asked, “What the hell happened? Where is the doctor?”
“It was Shawn. He tried to kill me and he said that I had to leave. He was starting to take me with him before you came in.”
“Where did he go?”
“Matt, no, please don’t.”
“WHERE IN THE HELL DID HE GO,” Matt screamed at the top of his lungs. Delia then pointed towards the bathroom. Matt ran out of the door and down the hall only to see Shawn waving at him as the elevator closes. Matt banged on the elevator door, “DAMN IT!” Then he saw the steps. He ran down the steps as like a bullet. He never felt his feet touch a step. He ran out the hospital doors to find Shawn speeding way. “SOB. What until I get my hands on him.” Matt went up to Delia and sat by her side. “Why didn’t you call for help?”
Delia started to sob, “He pulled out the call button, had a knife to my throat, and then…then…then…”
“Then, what?”
Delia burst into tears and wrapped her arms tightly around Matt, “He said that if I didn’t go with him, he would kill Jeff.” Matt’s face turned read. No one would ever hurt his little brother as long as he was alive.
“Don’t worry about Shawn, I will take care of that.”
“No, I don’t want to lose you to him, jail, or worse. Just don’t leave me alone any more.”
“
If he ever comes near you, me, or Jeff…nothing, and I mean nothing will stop me from killing him. I will get a doctor to look at your neck.”
Matt started to walk out the door when, “Matt wait.”
“Yes.”
“Please kiss me.” Matt came up to Delia and put his finger on her cheek and kissed her passionately. He then kissed her eyes and neck.
“I love you, Matthew.”
“I love you, too, Delia. And I will prove it.” Delia looked at Matt with a blank look on her face. “Don’t worry sweet heart, I will take care of everything.” Just when Delia was about to ask how, Matt left. Matt ran to Jeff’s room. “Hey baby brother.”
“Hey man, how is your girl?”
“Worse.”
Amy, Mr. Hardy, Debbie, Jeff all asked the same question, “What happened?”
Matt explained every detail. “That is why I am here. I will feel a lot better know that Jeff is recuperating at my house. Along with Debbie, Dad, Amy, and Delia. I know you all need to live your life, but I just need to make sure every one is ok.”
“I know what you need to do,” Mr. Hardy said, “you need to take your foot and stick it up Shawn’s…”
“Dad not now.”
“Excuse me, Matthew Moore Hardy.”
“Dad, sorry. I just need to get everything straight.”
“No, Matt your father is right.”
Matt turned around, “Mr. Gray.”
“I already called Delia’s cousin and uncles. We are going to hunt Shawn down and take care of this problem. Are you all with us?”
Matt and Mr. Hardy proclaimed, “Yes.”
“As soon as I get to my feet, I am there and on his ass,” Jeff said with a look of vengeance.
Amy and Debbie came up to Matt, “We will stay with Delia and make sure she is ok.”
“Thank you. Now I have to get her doctor to release her in my care.”
“It’s been done.”
“Mrs. Gray?”
“Delia will be better protected with you, but we can’t tell her what is going on. If everyone is at your house she will know. Let us take care of finding him. You take care of her.”
Matt hugged everyone and walked to Delia’s room. “Hi, baby. How would you like to come home with me?”
“How? I am not better.”
“The doctor released you under my care. That way you will feel safer and we can get…well…” Matt examined her frame covered in bed sheets, touched her hips, kissed her, “closer.” Delia smiled, bit her bottom lip, and asked, “When can I leave?”
“Right now.” A nurse came in with a wheel chair for Delia. Matt started to pack Delia’s things as she got into the wheel chair. Matt made sure he took a good look at the nurse, then the nurse started to wheel her off. “Don’t go anywhere I am not letting her out of my sight.” Matt went with Delia out to the parking lot. He was wheeling her to the car, then he noticed something weird about his car from a distance. They got closer to the car and noticed it was…
