Belinda Evans
After How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Belinda went
straight into the West End to join the cast of Phantom of
the Opera. After a year she decided to move back into opera
and has just finished a nationwide tour with Opera UK.
Laura Sicurello
Police Officer Maria hung up her truncheon for good when she
was eliminated from the show. She was awarded a full
scholarship to study at prestigious stage school, Mountview
Academy of Theatre Arts, in London. Laura can now be found
staring as Alice Fitzwarren in the pantomime, Dick
Whittington, in Greenwich.
Leanne Dobbinson
Leanne came out of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria
straight onto the stage at the Theatre Royal Windsor, to
star as Snow White in their annual panto. Since then she has
performed in a new musical in Nottingham, Make Do Amend, and
more recently has been getting lots of acting, singing and
dancing lessons with the hope of being on stage in the West
End in the next year.
Meliz Serman
After How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? Meliz returned
to university to complete her studies in Music Performance.
Having completed her course, she can now be found gigging
with her band at venues across London.
Connie Fisher
Since winning Maria, Connie's career has got off to an award
winning start, having won numerous accolades, including
Lastminute.com's Peoples' Choice for ûBest Newcomerú. With
her time in The Sound of Music almost at an end, Connie is
now looking forward to new projects. When she hangs up her
habit for the last time, she will be turning her attention
to a new role, this time on TV.
Siobhan Dillon
Siobhan won praise from panellist and West End producer,
David Ian, week after week during Maria. After the
competition, he was quick to cast her in his West End
production of Grease. As well as playing Patty Simcox, she
also understudies Sandy in the show.
Helena Blackman
Runner-up Maria is now a leading lady herself in a national
tour of the musical South Pacific. Since How Do You Solve A
Problem Like Maria? Helena has also sung in the Royal Albert
Hall and was even invited by Andrew Lloyd Weber to perform
in several concerts in Toronto!
Aoife Mulholland
It's been a busy year for Aoife, having starred in not one,
but two major West End productions! After Maria, Aoife was
cast in the part of Roxie in Chicago and can now be seen in
The Sound of Music playing Maria two shows a week.
Abi Finley
Abi's first major project after Maria was the role of Fiona
in Tim Rice's Blondel. Soon after that she dusted off her
jazz shoes and leg warmers to tour the nation as Serena in
Fame. Abi is still good friends with Aoife and they are both
very excited to be taking part in the Christmas special,
When Joseph Met Maria.
Simona Armstrong
Since the show, Romanian Maria has turned her attention to
straight acting and has embarked on a successful TV career.
She recently appeared in the popular BBC drama, Doctors and
will be back on our screens in the new year in the BBC's
Love Soup.
