Wicca, once thought of as a grand religion. This pre-Christian religion is the oldest religion discovered to date. It's followers were once looked upon as the healers, seers and leaders of humanity. Today it is a much different story. Today, modern Wicca is a religion that has been forced into the shadows. Many of it's young follows keep their religious practices as secret as possible, like myself. My name is Kevin, I am 20 years old and have been practicing for 5 years now. I still live with my parents and they are still blinded from my practice of the craft.
Wicca, today, is a modern based religion that focuses on the Earth. Unlike old times where there was a collective number of practicing Wiccans in one location, today there are as many different ways to practice Wicca as there are Wiccans. Many Wiccans (I prefer the term "Wiccans" over "Witches," but we are called both.) today focus on the Earth and becoming one with the enivornment around them. Myself, I like to focus on the weather. The calm breezes, the thunderous sound of lightening, and the relaxing sound of rain on roof tops.
One thing Wicca has been connected with is witchcraft. Witchcraft is a very minute part of the Wiccan religion. Yes, there are spells, rituals, and chants that occur within the religion, but it is the daily activities of Wicca that make the religion what it is to date.
