Exact Login Name: Skyler Blake
Approximate date of arrival at VH:
November 16th 2003 . whenever that was VH time.
Canon Character Relation:  Madame Puddifoot
Nature of Relation:  She's Skyler's Aunt.

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes. Well, by the person behind the character at any rate. I never actually went looking for official permission because of the circumstances behind our being related.
Approximate date granted/date RPed: Pretty much since I joined.
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): After I'd joined as Skyler Blake, it occurred to me that chances were there'd be other Blakes on the site, and that they might not appreciate a newbie sharing their second name, even if we weren't related IC. So I looked up all of the Blakes online and Pmed the only seriously active one (James Blake) to see if he was okay with it. After Pming each other for a while, he decided it would be okay if we were related, and so I became his sister. It just so happened that Madame Puddifoot was his Aunt. So, by default, she became Skyler's Aunt, too.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character: James never really went into great detail about the family dynamics of the Blake family, but I did get the impression that they were pretty dysfunctional. Their deceased Mom's family was never really happy with them being sorted into Gryffindor, and their father's a workaholic. It's really only Madame Puddifoot who accepts them for who they are and all of that good stuff. I've RPed with Madame Puddifoot a few times, though never really in depth, and I suppose that, yes, personality-wise, Skyler would be majorly affected.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future): History-wise, I don't think she'd really be affected much beyond the fact that she'd be even more isolated from adult influence. However, as her personality would be affected, I suppose her future would be slightly darker. (She already has a commitment problem, after all). At the moment, she wants to be an auror, but it's possible that, if her personality was darker, she could succumb to the last remaining adult influence in her family and perhaps even ultimately become a Death Eater. After all, it fulfils all of the same things as becoming an Auror . it allows her to prove that she can take care of herself, and it's a way for her to avoid her fear of being helpless. The only difference is the side she's on. Or maybe I'm being melodramatic ... it might not be that extreme, but it will definately turn her more bad than good.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation? The only real way I can see of keeping Skyler, well, Skyler, would be to have sent her away from her family pre-Hogwarts for whatever reason, and that would be a nightmare to explain to everybody. If the relation is taken away, and I don't do anything to counter that, then I suppose at least Dark!Skyler could be interesting to RP .

I'm not sure if I need to send this in too, but I am just incase I am supposed
to.  If it's not needed for me to fill it out, then I guess you can ignore
this.

Exact Login Name: Bill Weasley.
Approximate date of arrival at VH:  Myself,
16 April 2003, Bill, 23 June 2004.
Canon Character Relation:  Older brother to Percy and Charlie, son to Arthur
Weasley.
Nature of Relation:  As above.

Was permission granted to RP this relation:  I was told by Thanatos that they
wanted the Runes professor to be Bill, so yes.
Approximate date granted/date RPed:
23 June 2004 (a hour or so before I
registered, I believe).
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): I'm not sure
what their reasoning is to want Bill as the Runes professor, but since they
wanted Bill to teach the course, I'm doing it since I wanted to teach Runes.
As for his history from the end of OotP to VH present, I'm still working that
out.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:
It probably will since both Bill and Percy are Gryffindor Professors, so there
will probably be quite a bit going on between the two of them (although it
hasn't been planned yet).
How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed?
(e.g. in terms of history and future):  Well, if this relation is removed, I
wouldn't be able to play the character, and would have to register another
character in order to teach Runes, and with start of classes being less than a
week away, that wouldn't be overly fun to do.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation?
I don't think so, short of registering a new professor.  But since I was told to
play Bill, I don't think there should really be any problems with it, at least
not until book 6 comes out.  Then there could be problems depending on what
happens in the book, but that's far enough away that we can deal with it when
it happens.

Exact Login Name: Megan Lupin
Approximate date of arrival at VH:
August 10, 2003
Canon Character Relation: Remus Lupin
Nature of Relation: Uncle

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes, by the person who plays
Professor Lupin and I believe I sent a form in as well.
Approximate date granted/date RPed: I can't remember the exact date but I
would say it was within a month of me joining.
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history):
OOC: Since we do not know whether or not Lupin has a brother/sister, I
thought it was completely pssoble that he could. Being the strange girl I was almost
a year ago, I thought it would be fun to be related to my favorite character.
Character History: Megan's father, Romulus Lupin was killed when she was
little (as requested by Professor Lupin). She now is taken care of by her mother.
Does this relation impact majorly on your character: Not much. I've been
dying to RP with Professor Lupin but never could work up enough courage to ask.
How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was
removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future): I don't think that Megan would be
affected very much if the relation was removed.
Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation? Megan's mother (being single) could marry someone which would change her
last name. After that . . . the relation could just dissapear and I would
never mention it again.

Exact Login Name: Rhysenn Nott
Approximate date of arrival at VH: since the beginning!
Canon Character Relation: Octavious Nott
Nature of Relation: He's my uncle.

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes. The Dark Lord said I could
be related by cousins, not siblings.

Approximate date granted/date RPed: I can't remember, This particular
character was handed over to me by a friend, I didn't want to see her kill
off Rhysenn, so I took over and it's been fun so far.
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): erm...her
father is octavious nott's brother (theodore nott's father).Thaddeus Nott.
Rhysenn's dad isn't a DE, he supports the dark lord but he's way to chicken
sh...er to chicken to actaully be one. she also has a twin. Brandon Nott.
(played by...well, actually I forgot who he was played by.) The person who
handed over Rhysenn didn't exactly give me a family history on her, so if
I'm allowed to keep her, I'll be more than happy to ocme up with something.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:
Not to my character, to other people's characters, apparently my father has
killed several peoples families. very odd, that. It doesn't bother me very
much but...I'd like them to ask me before they start RPing the fact that I'm
a heartless S.O.B. who laughs at other peoples misfourunes and have
souvenirs from there famlies murders.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was
removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future):
Well, if removed, that will stop the insane kids from trying to hex me to
ash, for something my parents supposedly did. heh. if it's not removed then
it's all good for me. I've grown attached to my ickle Rhysenn, but if the
commity sees fit to squish her out of exsitence, then so be it.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation?
Er, I could tell them to get there facts straight, and not assume that just
because my last name is Nott, that I or my immeidate family hexed there
families off the map. I am also fully aware that Octavious Nott was murderd,
his brother (Rhysenn's dad) wouldn't have to come into play at all.

Exact Login Name: kyranae

Approximate date of arrival at VH: Late April of 2003

Canon Character Relation: Mr. Argus Filch (AKA my alter… O_o)

Nature of Relation: He is my Great Uncle through my mother’s side of the family.

Was permission granted to RP this relation:

If approving of myself being my own relation means yes…then…Yes? Just kidding! Butch said I could, I asked him over AIM waaayyy back when.

Approximate date granted/date RPed: When I became Argus.

Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history):

I was trying to come up with a backstory for my Argus character. I figured that the reason he must be so bitter about magic is that he comes from a family with more than one child and he was the only Squib. That meant that there were other actual witches and wizards related to him… if distantly, so I made him my Great Uncle. I made up a family tree to show you the exact relation…which can be found at the URL below.(it is a new one because Isabella… umm..Diego? didn’t get accepted as a Filch.)

http://img27.photobucket.com/albums/v80/Kyranae/Family_Tree_1.jpg

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:

OOC impact - Well, right now…since I can’t logout of VH as Kyranae… the relationship is EXTREMELY helpful because I am “overseeing the detentions that were already started before I discovered that I wouldn’t be able to get on as Argus for awhile. The main reason why I made Kyra related to Argus was so that I would be able to manage more areas of VH without having to worry about problems with some random relative popping up. ( It’s also kind of fun making people think you are two different people on the chat…
happy.gif* heh)

IC Impact – Truthfully? It doesn’t really impact my character much since Kyra is too independent to rely on anyone and Argus doesn’t really care about her any ways. The huge IC thing that Kyra learned from Argus is that she uses all the same secret passageways that he does… because IC, he showed them to her as a bribe for leaving him alone.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (E.g. in terms of history and future):

*Gasps in Horror* You took away my Argie!!! Wahhh!!!!
I would personally rather that my character have all the knowledge of the castle that she has learned from Argus (as stated in the above question). Having a character who can find her way through the castle with ease is one of the traits that comes in handy a lot. She is supposed to be the “Silent and Swift member of PAMM because she knows how to get in and out of places unseen. Without Argus bribing her by showing her all the secret passageways her second year, then most of my Prank threads and a few threads over all are basically useless.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation?

I suppose Kyra could have learned the passages by herself… but that is highly unlikely because Argus knows his way around the castle even better than Dumbledore does. (That was a written fact somewhere, but I forget if JKR said it or it was in a book >_<) There is no plausible way that she could have learnt the passageways without being shown most of them, even though she is the type of character who would just wander around searching for them

Hm.. I'm not really sure if this counts as "canon" persay, considering the character, but I figured it best to send it in, in case it is. ^.^

Exact Login Name: Tristessa Durera
Approximate date of arrival at VH: Since January 24th, 2004
Canon Character Relation: Malcolm Borgin (Which makes it somewhat Un-Canon since we don't know his real name. We just know him as Mr. Borgin, a man who owns Borgins and Burkes, who fawns over Lucius)
Nature of Relation: Grandfather

Was permission granted to RP this relation: By the Character yes. I asked Sinistra when I first came, she told me to get in contact with Borgin and Lucius. Borgin gave me the a-ok. Lucius, well I haven't heard back from him yet, and don't think I will be!
Approximate date granted/date RPed: Recently, about.. a month ago, maybe two.
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): Well, since I have decided that my mother and father both work in Borgins and Burkes, I found it rather suiting. My mother is a witch, and if she works as an assistant, one would only think that it's family-related. Which brought along the idea that perhaps, he has a daughter, in which that would be Tristessa's mother. It's not known if he does or not canon-wise, and considering how little we know about him, we don't even know if the Malcolm Borgin on VH is the Borgin who runs Borgins and Burkes, or perhaps a brother of the original Borgin, who took over the family buisness.

Man oh man, i'm sorry.. *hugs* Now I understand how terribly difficult this all must be for you guys.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character: No, I haven't RPed it. Actually, I haven't RPed a lot about Tristessa's family. So it would not majorily impact my character if it was rejected. No hard feelings whatsoever. I just thought it would be interesting to be related to someone. I figured it would fit VERY nice and neat into Tristessa's family history as well, as if it were meant to be.
How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future): Not at all.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation? No, because I haven't Rped as such. I've only put it in my profile, and it can easily be rectified.

--Tristessa Durera--

Hopefully you can figure out a peaceful and easy solution to this. I honestly don't want you guys running around like chickens with your heads cut off *pat pats and hands them all cookies* Don't lose sleep over it okay?
PROMISE?

Exact Login Name: Allison Black
Approximate date of arrival at VH: Since the beginning
Canon Character Relation: Sirius Black

Nature of Relation: Niece

Was permission granted to RP this relation: No, not really. Ven Malfoy (Erica) acknowledges me as a Black, but other supposed Black relations do not. See, they made this family tree, which didn't include me. So I questioned them about it, but they refused my claims. I applied to the canon character counsel thing in both my third and fourth year, but they were kind of disorganized so they didn't get to almost any of the forms.

Approximate date granted/date RPed: Well, I've RPed my characters relations since the beginning.

Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): Reasons- I thought it would be nice to have some background, some history, and Sirius Black is my favorite character in the books. Character History-

Allison Emily Marjera Black was born to Marlanea Marjera Black and Adius Black on July 20, 1989. Marlanea was a pure blood witch from a wealthy Portuguese wizarding family. She attended Hogwarts and was in Slytherin. Adius was one of the brothers of Sirius Black. The Blacks are pure blood as well, and he was placed in Slytherin like so many of them. Marlanea and Adius met through school and dated thought their years there. When they graduated in, they moved in together. The both joined Voldermort as Deatheaters 2 years before his down fall. After Harry Potter defeated Voldermort, my parent went back home to settle down. My father how ever was caught about a year in a half after that, leaving my mother alone and pregnant. He was killed by Aurors. My mother raised me with traditional pure blood views even though I resented them. When I got my Hogwarts letter, I was very excited. I would be free of my mother and free to make my own choices. I was sorted into Gryffindor, like my Uncle and was very relieved that it wasn't Slytherin. When I came home for the summer, I discovered my mother had remarried. She married a man by the name of Lucas Black, a cousin of my father's and Sirius's. He had a daughter named Jezelyn, who is my half sister. I went back to Hogwarts and came to relieve that there was a lot more relations there. Livianna Black, Cassuess LeStrange, and Ven Malfoy to name a few. Livianna and Cassuess never really acknowledged that I was a Black as well.
Does this relation impact majorly on your character: It gives her a sense of pride, as well as a history. To know that you're a part of something much bigger than just your mum and dad, centuries of lineage and generations of stories, is a very powerful thing.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future):  Well, she'll pretty much lose her entire identity. A Black is who she is, whether some people like to accept it that or not.
Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation?
Um, I think what you are saying is how can your sudden canon relationship acknowledgement be explained? Well, you could say that a complete Black history was recently found and I was on it.

Thank you very much for your time.

Exact Login Name: Veneficus Malfoy
Approximate date of arrival at VH:  June 5th, 2003
Canon Character Relation:  Lucius and Draco Malfoy
Nature of Relation:  Daughter/Sister

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes.
Approximate date granted/date RPed:  Probably around June 12th or so, 2003. It was nearly immediately after I joined.
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): Umm, I suppose I'll just give you Ven's background. There isn't really a REASON for Ven to be Ven in character, and OOC - I just wanted to be related to Draco back then, but now - she's grown and developed a bit, and she is my baby. I can't seem to give her up. lol.

Oh, and if this sounds more like rambling than a History. I'm sorry, I've not had much sleep. lol. But all of you guys know most of this anyways.

Veneficus Noelle Malfoy was born on 13th of December, 1988 to Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. She had been born with a twin sister, Azraele - who was a few hours earlier than she. Being so much younger than their older brother, the girls weren't ever extremely close to him. By the time they were old enough to walk and talk, he had been sent to Hogwarts, and wasn't home but during the Holidays.

Because Lucius and Narcissa's son had been sent to the wizarding boarding school, Veneficus and Azraele had become the spoiled little girls of the family. Keeping their mother busy during the days, and when their father had gotten home - keeping him busy reading Bedtime stories.

As the girls got older, it had become apparant that Azraele was seemingly different from the rest of the Malfoy family. She questioned the stories that their father had told them, about the great wizard who wanted the purebloods to be superior to all other races. She had started to become distant. Although Narcissa still cared very much for her little girl, there was quite a bit of tension between Azraele, her parents and her siblings.

Veneficus had then become daddy's little girl. She looked up to him immensly, and wanted to be just like him when she grew up. She would sit for hours in his private study, looking through books on the floor while he worked, learning a great deal more than most wizarding children at that age.

She had become very bright, and very close to her father over the years, which caused Lucius to become extremely overprotective with her. Veneficus had the absolute best of everything, which caused jealousy with her sister, and her mother.

By being close with her father, she had gotten a bit closer with her older brother as well. During the Holidays when he was at home, he would teach her how to fly, and how to play Quidditch, as well as showing her things he had learned in school, and telling her stories about Hogwarts.

As time went on, Draco graduated from School, the same year that the castle had been destroyed. It was that summer that she and her sister had recieved their letters to Durmstrang. Azraele had opted not to go, wanting to wait until Hogwarts was open again. But Veneficus left on a train to what she felt was the best Wizarding School in Europe.

To get Azraele out of the house, Lucius had offered to help Dumbledore rebuild the castle by paying for the funding of it. In turn of course, to be granted School Governor, the position he had once held while his son was attending the school. Once the school was rebuilt, and Lucius was reinstated as Governor, he let Veneficus finish out her 5th Year at Durmstrang before pulling her back to Hogwarts.

Because of the difference in curriculums, Veneficus had to be held back 3 years at Hogwarts. Dumbledore had felt that she would miss too much in her Hogwarts Classes if she had been put where she belonged.

While at hogwarts, Veneficus' twin sister Azraele was murdered by a traitor Deatheater, whom her father "took care of" as soon as he had found out it was him. Veneficus is starting her 3rd Year at Hogwarts, and is hoping to be able to excell in all of her classes. She's decided that she needs to step up to the plate, and begin concentrating on her grades, not on her family problems.

Though, she's heard some rumours that her brother is up to no good. She doesn't want to believe it, yet everything is just now starting to fall together.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:  Definitely. Veneficus wouldn't be Veneficus otherwise.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future):  Well, it would of course change her complete and entire past. Which would also change a lot of other things, since her personality and her lifestyle are built around idolizing her father. And, I've not talked to Luke recently - but if Veneficus doesn't stay Veneficus, it could change some of the future VH Storylines. At least the one revolving around the Draco/Lucius showdown. We still haven't 100% decided how to do that yet.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation?
Er... lol. I suppose I'd just go create a new character. *shrugs* There isn't any way that you could take away Ven's history and her still be who she is. There's too much that revolves around it.

OH! And guess what! Sirius's mother died before Veneficus was born - so on the tapestry thing, assuming that Mrs. Black had to inscribe the names - she wouldn't have been able to add Veneficus and Azraele to it.

Oh and one more thing, I know how canon things should be and stuff... and if by chance, in one of the books it finally does say for sure that Draco is an only child instead of just hinting at it (since Ven/Az wouldn't be in school until after he graduated anyways) I am fully aware that I'll need to kill her off or what not. But I'd really like to keep her at least until that happened.

*huggles Ven*

This is fun! Aurora thinks that a godmother who is not related by blood nor by marriage is a relation!

QUOTE

Exact Login Name: Aurora Braelin
Approximate date of arrival at VH: July 26, 2003
Canon Character Relation: Madam Puddifoot
Nature of Relation: Godmother

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes
Approximate date granted/date RPed: October 2003
Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): My
character's mother (Sarah) is a witch, having attended Hogwarts during her
teenage years just like everyone else who attends Hogwarts. Madam Puddifoot
and Sarah met in Hogsmeade and have been friends ever since. After Hogwarts,
Sarah met Jonathan, a muggle (Aura's father), in America, then returned to
London.

Natrually, as Elli and Sarah were friends, Jonathan and Elli became friends
as well, leading up to Kathryn (Jonathan's sister/Aura's aunt) to become
friends.

Alexandria Davis was born and Elli Puddifoot was asked to be Alexandria's
godmother.

When Aurora was born, Elli Pudditfoot was asked to be Aurora's godmother.

When Aurora finally came to Hogwarts, she learned that her godmother worked
there and after many years of being separated, they reunited.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character: In regards to whether
Aura would stay sane? Yes. Elli has had a deep impact on Aurora's life. For
a short period of time, Elli was Aurora's guardian when she decided not to
return home to her Aunt's house. That was the year her mother and father
died, so, Elli took up the guardian post.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was
removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future): To be honest, I don't know.
This isn't really a BIG relationship that should bother anyone to the point
where it should be removed. That's just my opinion. It's nothing big like me
saying that I was the daughter of Harry Potter or something.

However, Aurora would be distraught, I guess. Perhaps depressed.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation?
Hey, I'm always open to playing a depressed, Aurora. But that doesn't mean I
want my relationship with Elli to be taken away either. But, if it were to
be taken away, it could probably have been a lie on behalf of Aurora's
mother or something. But like I said, I don't think having Elli as a
godmother to Aura and Alex should be taken away.
It just doesn't seem big
enough.

Exact Login Name: Liviana Black
Approximate date of arrival at VH:  Since the first year of it

Canon Character Relation:  Sirius Black (Black family)

Nature of Relation:  Uncle (where ever they fall into place)

Was permission granted to RP this relation:  Permission form several mods, and Sirius when we had him as a teacher

Approximate date granted/date RPed:  VH first year by Butch/sorting hat Second year VH or as soon as Sirius signed onto the boards

Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history): .  Liviana was born to Polaris and Cynthia (Jweles) Black in the December of 1986.  Both the Blacks and the Jweles were highly powerful names in magic. Her mum’s father was known as the first to “forsake the legions of pure blood power” (an “alliance” of several pure blood families made by inter-marriages that would make the royal family like a great mixture of different people and cultures) during the reign of Grindald.  Her father’s family was also apart of the “legion of pure blood power”, but unlike Jweles, there was no rift between them until recently.

While her mother was an only child, her father had two brothers, Sirius and Regulus.  Regulus was killed by Voldemort for almost turning back from what the Death Eaters at that time were doing.  Uncle Sirius was convicted of a crime he did not commit under Voldemort, and sentenced to live in Azkaban with out parole.

When Livy was about 5 Uncle Sirius escaped from Azkaban.  It was a frenzied time for her family, who lived comfortably out side of a small town in Wales at the time (after living in London, a small town off the Lock Ness lake in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the country of Ireland, as well as various other places in the British Isles), in an old family home of the Jweles family.  Several Ministry employees found it necessary to visit her house about once a week, looking for Sirius, though father had made it plain that he had no connections with Sirius.  After a while, the visits became less frequent, until they stopped around April.

In June of that year, Livy found a large stray dog playing out side.  Being only 6 at the time, she thought the dog needed a home and a name. Livy began to call it Snuffles, and took it home with me.  This dog turned out to be no dog, but actually her Uncle Sirius Black in animagi form.  It scared the crap out of both of her parents, until Sirius could convince them that he was not at our home to kill us.  After hours of conversation, Livy’s family decided on a plan of action; since her mom had already been offered a research opportunity in Mexico, they would take them up on the offer and relocate our little lives, as well as Livy’s new “pet” to Mexico.

The first summer in Mexico was paradise.  Liviana had what any little 6 year old could want, the complete and un-faltering attention of three adults.  While her mum and dad were out doing their research things, Sirius was appointed the job of taking care of me.  Behind mum and dads backs, Sirius taught Livy all the fun stuff; how to fly, how to swim, how to climb trees and make bird calls, and of course, her favorite lessons were how to play pranks.

Liviana’s first prank played was on a boy named Rico in Mexico.  It was a simple dung bomb, but it made him so mad.  He still hasn’t forgiven me for it, and is out to get me at every possible turn when I am down there.

To bad that first summer couldn’t last forever.  Sirius got a disturbing letter from his God Son, Harry Potter in Britain.  That brought about several heated discussions between him and Livy’s parents.  After many tearful nights, Sirius left us.  He wrote a lot, but she never saw him again, as he died a year and a half latter.

Liviana’s parents tried to carry on their work in Mexico, but it seemed useless.  Her father was itching to get back to Europe to avenge both his brothers deaths.  News of the war and deaths of it cause her mother much hardship, and long nights crying.  Livy, nearing age 10, had set my cores down my own path of emotional destruction.  After what happened to Sirius, she had little trust for any new friendships, often being extremely out going at first, and then after she started getting close, she would close herself off again.  It was a kind of defensive mechanism for her.

The longer her parents tried to ignore the events in Europe, the more they could not.  Finally, the family moved again, back to Europe and right in the middle of the war.  Both of her parents imminently, they set to work for the Order of the Phoenix.  The war was escalading out of control, and since a battle was imminent, her parents sent Livy to her father’s cousin, Andromeda (Black) Tonks.

Liviana never knew the full story of what had happened to my parents in the final battle until recently.  It still sends shivers down her back.  From what she was told, her parents kept close together in the battle, fighting side by side.  A weaker death eater attacked Livy’s parents, distracting them from the true danger behind them.  A vampire came up behind them, and took them from the battle field.  No one saw them actually die, but it can be assumed it wasn’t pleasant.

After Mum and Dad’s death, Liviana turned into herself.  The Tonks, luckily, took full custody of her, but they had little idea of what to do with Livy.  She locked herself in the room they provided for days at a time, refused to talk for weeks, and when she did talk she was not pleasant.  Livy started blaming herself, and because of that, she pushed everyone away.  Andromeda, Ted and even Nyphdora tried to do their best for her, either having her help them at the old Black family home at Grimm auld (which would soon become mine) or telling Livy stories, or even one time taking me to Mexico to make her feel more at home.  That was probably the worst incident of bratty ness that she ever went into.  Her old friend, Sophia’s, mother tried to tell me she was sorry.  Livy almost literally bit her head off, telling her she was sick and tired of people always telling me how sorry they were.

After that, the Tonks gave up trying for the most part, which was okay with Livy.  About a year passed, when an owl came with her invitation to Hogwarts.  It seemed like the perfect escape for her.  She needed to get out of that house more than anything.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:  Yes. Albeit brief the time that she had actually known her uncle, much of what he did for her is still reflected in her life, as well as interactions with other characters that are related to Liviana because of her uncle.  If it were not for this relationship, Liviana would have had very little reason for even talking with Casseus (who is no longer with us) or Aislin.  It also gives her a both extra loathing and mixed with a dash of respect that she has for Mr. Malfoy.

It also provides background for both her love of Quidditch and pranking.  Both what Sirius taught her when she was young and in Mexico, and what she has learned from him later through his journal, which Liviana poses after coming to inherit most things for that side of the Black family.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was removed? (E.g. in terms of history and future):
Well, basically it would mean redoing her history, her reasons for moving to Mexico, and where I stayed after my parents died, or if and why they died as well.  The theory of them going because a type of revenge that is in Livy’s father only works if she is related to the Blacks.

It would also put a damper on where PAMM finds its spells, because at the moment we are relying on two prank books and that I posses Sirius’ old journal.

I would also have to figure out a new place for Liviana to stay during the summer holiday because it makes little to no sense for her to stay at Grimmauld if she is not a Black.
Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential situation?
Basically, since I have been doing this for this long, it would mean starting from scratch practically as a first year.  I would have to come up with new reasons for being where I was in my life, reasons for starting a prank group named similarly to the ancient Maurders.

Exact Login Name: Aislin Blaque

Approximate date of arrival at VH:  August 8th 2003
Canon Character Relation:  Alphard Black
Nature of Relation: Grandfather

Was permission granted to RP this relation: Yes. By the admins, Liviana
Black, Casseus Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, and Veneficus Malfoy

Approximate date granted/date RPed: Middle of September in the Three
Broomsticks.

Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history):
Please note that some of the dates might not be exact canon with the
exception of what has already been stated in the books (ie birth of
Marauders, return of Voldemort etc. etc.) All dates given can be changed as
seen fit. Some names (such as Alphard's wife and sister) have been given
names but can be changed as seen fit.

IC: Family History: Corvus Ian Black was born on March 15, 1955 in London,
England to Alphard and Deliah Black. His first year of life was peaceful
enough, his parents were sociable, well to do purebloods and of course the
birth of a son to carry on the family name was highly looked upon. The
following year, however, his sister Bellatrix was born and in 1957,
Andromeda Black was born to the family. Four years later, the last child of
the Black family, Narcissa, was born in 1961. Their family life was simple
enough. While Corvus's father was a kind man, he was away on business during
most of his children's childhood, leaving most of the upbringing of the
children to his wife and sister Medusa Black. Corvus's childhood was filled
with the Dark Arts and many of the beliefs his family was so famous for.

In 1966, Corvus was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
and was sorted into Slytherin House, like the majority of his family. He
acelled in Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts and was well liked by
many of his housemates. His sister came the following year and Andromeda the
next. In 1972, Corvus graduated from Hogwarts and recieved top N.E.W.T.S. in
the majority of his classes. Instead of applying for jobs at the Ministry,
Corvus sought a council with his Aunt Medusa. She was supporting an up and
coming dark wizard who called himself Voldemort, and he needed followers.
Corvus was quick to accept and he officially joined the ranks in the fall of
1973. Bellatrix followed in his footsteps the next year. In 1975, she
married Rodolphus Lestrange who was a Death Eater as well.

The following year, Andromeda disgraced the family (and was disowned), by
marrying a muggle born and producing a half blood daughter Nymphadora Tonks
in the same year. Corvus's cousin, Sirius ran away from home and was
disowned from the Black family. Alphard Black bought his nephew a London
flat and gave him money that was meant to go to Corvus. Furious at his
father's actions and embarassed that he was not gaining the recognition as a
Death Eater, Corvus changed his last name to Blaque in attempts to escape
the last name that had disgraced him. His Aunt Medusa, furious that her
nephew would change his last name and try to forget he was a Black, blew off
his name from the family tree, officially disowning him from the family. The
next three years ran smoothly, Corvus was rapidly recieving attention for
his 'techniques' as a Death Eater. His sister Narcissa married into a strong
pureblood family in 1979 and Corbett would become an uncle in the early
months of 1980.

But disaster struck. In the late months of 1980, Corvus's cousin Regulus was
killed by fellow Death Eaters for wanting to leave the service of the Dark
Lord. Corvus's master was defeated in 1981. His sister Bellatrix (along with
her husband and brother-in-law) were sentenced to life in Azkaban prison, as
was his cousin Sirius. Corvus was able to evade his sentencing by pleading
his innocence and turning in several novice Death Eaters. Tragedy struck
again when Alphard Black died in 1982 and his sister Medusa died three years
later. It was during this time that Corvus met Hydra Starr, an old yearmate
of his back at Hogwarts. Born to a wealthy pureblood family, Hydra was a
professional auror and had put many of Corvus's colleagues behind bars.

Conviced that Corvus had changed his ways, Hydra accepted his marriage
proposal and the two were wed in 1986. Four years later, their first and
only child, Aislin Blaque was born in London, England on December 30, 1990.
They lived out their lives in a wondrous harmony and with visits from
Hydra's half sister, Mariwen every summer (after her full year at Hogwarts),
Aislin was never bored.

In the summer of 1995 Voldemort returned to power and Corvus responded to
the call. Hydra was asked to join the Order of the Phoenix and sometimes
took her four year old daughter for some of the meetings during the year.
The four year old had no idea that her father was a 'Black' and not just
because of her underdevelopedmind. Her father wanted to make it on his own
without the help of his wealthy family and also felt that the Black line was
'disgraced.' Her parents thought that keeping her true lineage a secret from
her would not affiliate her with any of her 'evil' relatives. And not many
people remembered that Alphard had a son and Corvus wanted to keep it that
way.

After his return to the Death Eaters, Corvus began to tear away from his
family. While he was always a caring father and doting husband during
Aislin's early years of life, he began to fling hexes and curses at his
daughter whenever his wife was 'away on business.' The year 1996 brought the
death of Sirius Black and the start of the second war. Hydra and Corvus were
so preoccupied with their respective side that Aislin spent the next two
years in solitude, relying on books and mini quidditch kits to keep her
company.

At the end of the sixth month in 1998, the final battle began on Hogwarts'
grounds after the graduation ceremony. Corvus was attending the ceremony in
secret, wanting to watch his nephew Draco graduate from the school and Hydra
was at home with Aislin when she was called to the battle. The seven year
old was left to her own devices at home and a nanny was sent to look after
her.

While on the battle field, Hydra and a Death Eater were locked in a vicious
duel. Hydra had no choice but to kill the Death Eater who was threatening
her life. After peeling off the mask she realized that she had killed her
own husband. The auror was not paying attention and another Death Eater came
up from behind and killed her. Aislin was informed the next day by her Aunt
Mariwen who had taken part in the battle. Aislin was given all that was left
of the Blaque fortune and was sent to live with friends of her father's who
ran a foster home for children orphaned by the war.

During her eight year stay with the Jackmans, Aislin was treated poorly.
Made to grunt labor and to not argue, Aislin soon came to realize that her
foster famiy was taking in the children in order to gain money from the
Ministry of Magic. A spitfire and a bit of a rebel, Aislin fought against
the restraints her family set for her and she suffered terribly for it.
While her older foster siblings were sent to Beauxbatons or Durmstrang,
Aislin was held back even when she recieved her letter in 2003 to attend the
newly rennovated Hogwarts. Her foster parents were able to keep her until
the summer of 2005. It was during that time that she was finally allowed to
attend Hogwarts as a fifteen year old first year.

It was during the beginning of her first year that her half-aunt came into
contact with her. Mariwen registered for the Auror Academy soon after her
graduation from Hogwarts and was unable to take care of her niece, leaving
Aislin to the Jackmans. It was at the Three Broomsticks that Aislin learned
of her true lineage and of her true family.

Does this relation impact majorly on your character: Yes. Because Aislin
belongs to a well known pureblood family and has an extended family (many
which have evil intentions) she is trying to find herself and to uncover
anything she can about her past. Seeing that her father and a majority of
her aunts and uncles succumb to the dark side of the wizarding world, Aislin
wonders herself if she will be able to keep away from the call that has come
to claim most of her family members.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was
removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future): In terms of history she
would never have a last name and she would have never met her cousins
Liviana Black or Casseus Lestrange. She has already spent a summer at
Grimmauld Place and if that is all of a sudden gone, a new explanation would
have to be devised. She also would not have the internal conflicts she has
if she was not sent to the Jackmans after the final battle and the abuse she
suffered from her father. She also would not have the drive to find out who
she really is, which is what she has been doing ever since she found out her
lineage. In the future aspects, Aislin has no driving force for revenge
against the Death Eaters and she will have no desire to become an auror like
her mother and half-aunt.

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation?
I love where my character development has gone with Aislin's position in her
family. I suppose I could rewrite a history but so much has happened in
dealing with Aislin's character that it take an extremely long time to
rewrite her history.

Hullo,

I do hope that this application is approved by the committee... So sorry for
handing it up this late ^^

Approximate date of arrival at VH:
I joined on 4th October 2003

Canon Character Relation:
Severus Snape

Nature of Relation:
A niece

Was permission granted to RP this relation:
Yes. After sending Professor Snape (a few days after I joined) a PM with an
explanation, he granted me the permission.

Approximate date granted/date RPed:
7th October 2003

Reasoning IC and/or OOC for relation (include character history):
In character-wise, Silver has a natural heart defect, and there had been a
long quarrel as to which school she was supposed to go to. Her mother had
chosen Hogwarts, her father had chosen anywhere but there – for the place
held bad memories to him. He had seen himself as a disappointment to his
grandparents when he was sorted into Slytherin (though he had been more than
proud of his House), and did not need his child withstand the same shame. In
the end, what made him to comply to his wife’s wishes was the fact that his
wife’s brother, and a good friend of his – Severus Snape was still around
then – and that should anything happen, Silver would be in good hands. Snape
knew what ails the child, and the potions she had taken previously had been
through his hands – both he and his sister Sandrilene had much to do with
the creation of angina-related potions
smile.gif
OOC-wise, the prospect of living up to the name of such a competent man is
quite a challenge that I couldn’t really resist. Granted, Silver isn’t
Slytherin material, and her visible lack of sarcasm causes her to hardly fit
into the Snape genes, but there’s this struggle within her to find a place
to belong, and it’s what makes rping her so fun *giggles*

Does this relation impact majorly on your character:
In Silver’s background, Severus Snape had played quite a huge part in her
childhood years, though I haven’t mentioned Professor Snape being Silver’s
uncle much in the rps, but when I do, it’s usually through flashbacks and
thoughts. However, several of her homework last year mentioned having an
ex-professor of Hogwarts being her uncle who’d helped her through her
childhood… Rp-wise, P. Snape hadn’t been very active by the time I entered
into VH, so the only rp I actually had that made Silver seem related to him
had been at Hogsmeade Station whilst Silver had been an unsorted – Fleur
Delacour (wife of Severus Snape at VH – had rped waiting for her at the
station to bring her around.

How will your character be potentially afflicted if this relation was
removed? (e.g. in terms of history and future):
If the relation was removed, the most pressing thing to edit would be the
reason why Silver’s parents’ agreed to her entry into Hogwarts. Then will
come the embarrassment of using Professor Snape in Silver’s sorting
application – she’d rped a small part of the Potions Master in it. Other
than that, there isn’t much that will be affected, past history can be
easily forgotten, and for the future, the only thing to do is to refrain
from mentioning Professor Snape as Silver’s uncle in upcoming posts.
happy.gif!

Can you envisage any possible remedies for the aforementioned potential
situation?
Silverdawn’s parents could have made her enter into Hogwarts because the
medical facilities in this school far outshine the other boarding schools in
question. Furthermore, both of them – loathe as Rodrique’s willing to admit
– had been from Hogwarts and liked the school despite the number of bad
memories attached to the castle. Also, Silver had insisted on going to
Hogwarts instead of Beauxbatons, which was why she enrolled into Hogwarts
eventually. For the sorting application, nothing could be done about that.
The last thing is that of future rping – the easiest of the entire bunch. As
long as I don’t rp having Silver’s uncle being Professor Snape, everything’s
settled.
