Sariss and Seb slowly walked down the streets of Hogsmeade from the Magical Menagerie. The icy January wind was blowing from behind, almost urging them to move fasted towards the little tea shop and Seb once or twice stopped his scarf from blowing off. The image of him chasing a Slytherin scarf down the road didn’t appeal to him. Tua was surely asleep in his pocket now, if not hibernating from the cold, and Sariss was walking beside him. It was too cold to talk, It wasted too much heat, but eventually they halted outside their destination. As always, Seb pushed the door open for Sariss, and then followed her over the threshold. He could feel his cheeks burning once more, from the sudden change in temperature. “Nice and warm,” Seb muttered, before pointing to a free table near the back, “If we’re fast, we can get there before she does.” He pointed towards an elder female who had her eyes set on it, so off they sped towards the back. Seb just sat down before the lady got there, and he chuckled as she turned to another table, her nose raised in the air. A grin formed on Seb’s face as Sariss sat near him. This was practically like a date than a stop for tea it felt to Seb. His eyes darted around quickly. Maybe he should had brought her a present… But.. he didn’t know they would end up here… Seb’s stomach grumbled loudly, making him blush up to Sariss. “So, are you.. alright?” What? Stupid question alert… Why he had suddenly came over all shy and coy, he had no idea. He just hoped it would pass soon. After all, it wasn’t just ten minutes ago they were smooching in the Magical Menagerie, hoping no customers or Ms. Feline caught them. A faint smell of a cooked dinner passed Seb’s nostrils. His stomach was certainly thinking his throat had been slit.

“So, are you.. alright?” Seb asked, blushing, as his stomach gave a grumble. Sariss smiled slightly. It was a small smile of contentedness. The day had been very lovely. Classes had been enjoyable, the Magical Menagerie had not been too busy though not too boring either, and when Seb had come to collect her, it had just made her day. And now all four of them were assembled in Madam Puddifoot's little café. Tua had not even poked his nose out of Seb's pocket all the time. It had been too cold outside and inside it was so nicely warm that Sariss felt a tad sleepy. Thorny was not moving either. Well, the small mountain of leaves in the box the little hedgehog had hidden in was moving just barely. Most likely Thorny had curled up and was fast asleep. This was nothing short of a miracle, as the smell of cooked food wafted over from where Sariss supposed was the kitchen. "Am I alright? Hmm..." she assumed a thoughtful tone of voice. "Not... quite..." Her eyes must surely be sparkling mischievously as she waited for a few seconds to pass before she broke into a grin and moved her chair closer to Seb. She leant in and kissed his cheek and hugged him tightly. Usually, they didn't display their affection so openly and in such ample amounts in public, but inside Madam Puddifoot's café, it was strangely different. It seemed to be a constant Valentine's Day in there. Everyone was hugging and kissing their significant other without being giggled at or something by others. It was nice... Maybe Sariss and Seb should go there more often... "I love you, Sebbie," she whispered into his ear. After another kiss, this time on Seb's mouth, Sariss pulled back and smiled all over her flushed face. "Now I'm alright." Her cheeks felt quite red, partly from the change of temperature and probably mostly from smooching Seb...

A grin appeared onto his face, “I love you more though,” He replied in a singsong tone, to try and filter out the seriousness of the moment. Two blushing Slytherins – The top Slytherin Prefect – Quidditch Captain – Well it didn’t look took good for their House reputation. But serious they were, about each other, or so Seb hoped. As much as he did love Sariss, there was always that panicky feeling at the back of his mind, and in his stomach – that same feeling that made his heart want to stop and never start. The ‘what if?’ Seb had been in love before or so he thought, with Cien, but had feelings for Sariss. He acted on them feelings practically breaking Cien’s heart. What if it happened again? He didn’t want it. He didn’t want anyone else – he didn’t want to hurt Sariss the way he did to Cien. She was everything to him, and more. Reaching forward, he picked up the menu which sat in the middle of the table. “So, let’s see what I can eat to shut my stomach up. For a start I think a nice hot cup of tea and a side order of Sariss.” With a laugh, he winked over to Sariss, and then looked back to the menu. “I wonder,” Seb ran his finger down the menu, “Do they do cheese scones? Hmm, sandwich… Nice! Oh I don’t know. Oh, do they do dumplings?” His stomach was becoming quite impatient by now, and almost jumped out of his throat to order the food itself. “Here, you can have a look,” Seb handed the menu to Sariss, letting his fingers brush over her own before leaning in for a small kiss. He didn’t even want to try and resist anymore. It was a waste of his energy. The door flew open as someone else came into the small café, they struggled with the wind to shut the door. Seb didn’t quite like the idea of them making their way back to the castle in the dark, and the bitter cold wind. A small smile passed his face once more. Well, if he snuggled up to Sariss enough on the way home, they would be warm.

Sariss had half a mind to start one of those incredibly mushy and rather amusing ‘I love you more. No I love you even more!’ games, but if she did that, she’d just blurt out a series of things that were, though probably extremely romantic, rather embarrassing if someone listened in on their intellectually not really challenging conversation. The thought that Seb and Sariss would ever sit together inside Madam Puddifoot’s, swooning over each other with flushed faces hadn’t even dared to cross Sariss’s mind some six months ago. Indeed, ever since the day on which they had made their non-date-trip to Hogsmeade and the Shrieking Shack where it had turned into somewhat of a date after all, Sariss had been floating an inch or so above the ground—or so it seemed. It also seemed to her that her cheeks were rosy all the time. When she only thought about Seb, her face flushed. It was a miracle that she wasn’t made fun of relentlessly. But then again… There was always the Duelling Chamber… Seb studied the menu, mumbling as if to himself as he wondered which kinds of food were available and read the interesting ones of the listed dishes aloud. In the middle of his musings, he laughed (while Sariss gave a little giggle, fully knowing that her cheeks would not cease being pink for quite some time) and winked at her too. Another wave of heat ran over her face too; and Seb leaned in for another little kiss. There must be something in the air in Madam Puddifoot’s to make everyone drop their defences and be all lovey-dovey. “Oh, thank you… Hmm… Now what to get… Sometimes I envy your stomach… The bottomless pit…” she gave a little giggle as she accepted the menu from Seb when he handed it to her. “Wouldn’t want to skip dinner at school…” It was still a while until dinner, and she hadn’t had anything to eat since lunch, as Thorny had nicked Sariss’s apple that she had set on the counter. The hedgehog was still asleep, the leaves rustling softly with every deep breath that the little cutie took. After a minute in silence“Mmm… Cheese cake…” Sariss licked her lips. “I think we have a winner. And to drink… a nice hot peppermint tea. Yum… There’s nothing better when it’s cold outside…” A grin crawled onto her face. Well, actually there was something better than tea to warm her up, and it had already. Her cheeks were still a bit flushed and another wave of flushedness came as she looked at Seb and smiled. Sariss couldn’t help but wonder whether Seb actually knew how cute, handsome and funny and just… She gave a little sigh, her brain running out of thoughts. There were just no words that could express Sariss’s feeling for Seb to a remotely satisfactory extent.

“Mmm… Cheese cake…” Sariss paused to lick her lips, “I think we have a winner. And to drink… a nice hot peppermint tea. Yum… There’s nothing better when it’s cold outside…” Seb laughed, “Well as long as your tea doesn’t smell like my shampoo and I don’t get the urge to use it to wash with, it’s fine. Yeah, I’ll definitely be having a ham salad sandwich, and a cup of tea, oh, and a crème cake. Hmm, I hope they don’t contain chocolate. Well, if they do, you can have it.” His pocket began to come to life once more, reminding Seb that Tua was with him. He reached into his other pocket, brought out a lizard snack and placed it into where Tua currently resided. Seb then muttered down, “I can’t let you out – it’s unhygienic, Tua. Just, give us an hour or so.” He looked back up to Sariss. “Tua’s restless. So anyway. Chocolate. You know, I really should get that sorted out, my allergy. I mean, why not, eh?” Seb shrugged, “I’m sure it can be cured, I can’t keep putting it off. I’m depriving myself of that craving everyone seems to get. Which, by the way, I don’t understand. Fancy being addicted to something like that.” Pineapple pineapple pineapple “Plus, I know how you love chocolate, and have to be careful around me with it. It’s not fair. Anyway, talking of not fair, why do I see no pineapple on this menu?” Seb pointed to the menu which Sariss had put down. Hopefully by now his little moment of blushing had passed. Highly unusual for him to blush, it was usually just Sariss alone. He was sure he got sprinkled with “gooey loved up happy” dust when he entered the café. Although he had been like this since he went to visit Sariss. That was it! Ms. Feline had somehow sprinkled him with the “gooey loved up happy” dust. Although… Ok, them ideas were pretty lame. Seb suddenly wondered about Sariss. There was a lot about her he didn’t know, like, did she have a pet at home? What was her favourite muggle thing? In fact, Seb was sure she knew more about him than he knew of her. Was he that self-absorbed that he talked about himself that much? “Yes…” He trailed off, with a quiet sigh, “Pineapple.”

Sariss nodded. “Might not be a bad idea actually, Seb. Someone might just give you something that contains chocolate… and if it’s not immediately obvious… You could—“ Die? Could Seb die from a chocolate overdose? Probably… An allergic shock… Sariss winced inwardly. She should have dragged him to Madam Pomfrey ages ago, kicking and screaming if need be, actually. At the thought of this, the faint smile she’d been wearing on her face for the last hour already returned. It was just too amusing an image that popped up in her mind… Sariss dragging Seb to the Hospital Wing, moaning and complaining about how it’s all so not necessary and that he doesn’t want to bother someone… “You…” she tried to remember where she had left off a second or two ago. “You could be confined to the Hospital Wing for days on end if something like this happened. And then I’d come to visit you there every day and shower you in homework assignments for you to complete so they can be handed in in time. Who knows? You might even write lengthy assignments with an over-abundance of details out of sheer and utter boredom if that happened…” She grinned broadly all of a sudden. Seb’s homework assignments were mostly short and sweet… just like he had been a year or so ago. It seemed funny in retrospect that Sariss had been a bit taller than Seb only a few months ago and that Seb was now more than an inch taller. Boys… They tried to trick you into thinking that they wouldn’t grow much anymore and then all of a sudden had an enormous growth-spurt. “You know… Chocolate is a bit like kissing…” Sariss blurted out and sighed as she felt her cheeks flush again. One might think that somebody had slipped Seb and well as herself a Love Potion last August or so… “And… um… the Omnitaste Potion probably didn’t do it justice. There’s more to chocolate than the mere taste of it.” Sariss grabbed a piece of dark bread from the basket that was sitting on the table and chewed. It was fresh bread. Delicious. She gave a little giggle as Seb complained about them not having pineapple on the menu. Sometimes it seemed that his entire world revolved around pineapples. “Maybe they should have a special section on the menu… Special service for Mr Seb Darwin. Fresh pineapple every day. Whole. Rings. Cubes. Juice… They should offer different kinds of juices too… and fruit… At home, we had a peach tree in the garden. It didn’t bear fruit every year, but when it did, the twigs and branches were bending and almost breaking with the weight of the peaches… Mmm…”

Sariss giggled, “Maybe they should have a special section on the menu… Special service for Mr Seb Darwin. Fresh pineapple every day. Whole. Rings. Cubes. Juice… They should offer different kinds of juices too… and fruit… At home, we had a peach tree in the garden. It didn’t bear fruit every year, but when it did, the twigs and branches were bending and almost breaking with the weight of the peaches… Mmm…” “You know what, Sariss my dear? I did once request pineapple on the menu, they obviously didn’t get to it. Such a shame, really,” Seb too picked up a small bread bun. He might as well, they hadn’t been served yet. “As if they did, I would probably spend more time here, than I do with you.” They had been there a while now, more over, Seb had been famished for over three hours. His stomach was complaining so loud, it wouldn’t surprise him if someone on another seat complained. Seb began to rip apart the bun which he had placed on his plate, and slowly in thought, began to eat it. Seb often left the land of the sane to wander in his thoughts, but it was quite rare for him to have serious thoughts. Especially ones about hospitals. He hated them, and tried to spend as little time in them as possible. Placing a piece of bread down which was intended for his mouth, he looked at Sariss, “You mean to tell me if I had to spend a few days in hospital, you would bring me my homework?” He pouted, “That’s mean! Meany Sariss.” He threw the small piece of bread at her and pulled out his tongue. “Hmm, so how would I go about it, the hospital thing? Should I owl Madam P? I mean its not an injury, wouldn’t want to trouble her if she was busy. You know, make an appointment. Anyway! There might not be a potion to help me. If there was a cure, would I not have heard about it?” Seb bit his lower lip for a moment, before continuing, “There might be a monthly thing? Take it and it helps for the month?! Oh I don’t know.” Once more, Seb began to frown. It was a stupid idea. He had no clue why he brought it up. Depriving Sariss of chocolate? Well, if she wanted to eat it, Seb thought, she could. She controls what she does after all. Her choice. Life sucks. I want food.

Sariss longingly glanced towards the other tables where people were just being served or already munching happily. Lucky people compared to Sariss and Seb who had been waiting for quite a long time already and still nobody had had the time to serve them. As Seb grabbed a piece of bread from the provided basket--and they did well to provide it as the service seemed to be... er... well... rather sloooooow--Sariss did so to. When she reached out for one of the little butter packages, she saw that a knife materialised just next to the little plate with the butter pieces. Nifty... Sariss smiled as she listened to Seb complaining about homework... That Sariss would bring him his homework even if he were restricted to the Hospital Wing... Calmly buttering the bread, she just continued smiling wistfully until a little ball of bread bounced off her chest. She giggled, having half a mind to start a food fight, as that seemed to be the exact 'starting line' for something like this. But as lovely as the thought might be, it wouldn't be very wise to do this. Especially since they were in a very crowded shop (Why was it so crowded with such bad a service anyway?). That Sariss was a Slytherin Prefect and that Seb was the Quidditch Captain were also reasons for behaving halfway decently--except for a bit of excessive kissing maybe. She grinned. Well, Madam Puddifoot's was practically the only place in the proximity where you didn't have to blush when you were kissing your significant other. Seb began to look a bit worried as he bit his lip and continued, “...There might be a monthly thing? Take it and it helps for the month?! Oh I don’t know.” "It's not that important, Seb," Sariss reassured him. "You know that you're winning every time that you and chocolate are up against each other." She kissed his cheek in an attempt to make the worried frown disappear. "Besides... my addiction has lessened considerably recently... might be because I get something far better than that..." Giving a little somewhat naughty grin, she bit her lip and blushed. If she didn't know better she'd say that she had a love potion slipped into her breakfast pumpkin juice. Or maybe it was just the atmosphere... the smell in there... Or that she was at ease... She had finally written the dreaded letter to her foster parents, trying to explain some things or rather.. rambling about not knowing how she should explain them... Anyway... That was off her chest now. And there she was sitting in a café where lovers went, with her lovely boyfriend and just behaving like a normal teenager who was in love--and very very hungry... Her stomach gave a grumble and she took a bite from her bread... "I wonder when we'll get served..." she said while chewing. Not necessarily ladylike behaviour. But she was positively starving by now.

Seb looked over to Sariss, he was sure he could feel tears welling up in his eyes. "Sariss, I'm fading away here..." ((OOC - cough...))

Sariss had meanwhile lost interest in some stale bread and butter and looked back at Seb. "You tell me... I bet it's almost dinnertime at the castle already. Once again." Her stomach grumbled loudly at the thought of food and drink, plates and pitchers that covered the entire table so that you could hardly tell the colour of the table cloth anymore. (ooc: Sucky service in here, isn't it?)

Seeing her boyfriend in such agony, Sariss, using the feeble amount of strength that was left in her by now rather thin arms, moved to pull Seb up. "Let's leave here then. Get back to the castle. Dinner should be served soon. They do that every day there after all."
