What the hell is wrong with you? I mean this in such a serious way...what is wrong with you? You should all be ASHAMED of your pathetic and disgusting selves! Do you know how many lives you people have affected??

First of all, I dont understand why there must be a Gutter in the first place. Its disgusting, this is a Harry Potter community! Its bad enough that little kids will find out about sex like this, but to learn about bi-sexuals, whipping and all that crap?!? Aren't you ashamed???

How would you feel if your beatiful child found out about this at such a young age? There are 10 year olds and even younger kids here!! I was apalled when I first saw the Gutter, and was outraged when I saw that when a little girl (11) asked to be part of the Gutter, you agreed!!

Darcie, what is wrong with you? You're lesbian? GOOD FOR YOU! CALL THE PRESS! Should any of us give a freaking damn?!? I dont remember the name of your 'lover' but this is to her too. KEEP IT TO YOURSELVES!

And be bloody thankful that Dumbledore let you have a LOCKED FORUM for this!!

DO you know how hard those two amazing men work to make this site work? They pay and sweat, and what you do?!? THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY THEM?!?

And the chat thing tha happened a few hours ago...how could you?!? I forgave you the first time. BUT THIS IS THE FREAKING 3RD TIME!! ARE YOU MENTALLY RETARDED?!? People worked so damn hard to get us thoses points and this is what you do?!?!

WE may have never been friends, but I'm disgusted by you. ALL OF YOU! And because of you, we may never win the house cup.

And dont you DARE justify ANY of this! There is NO JUSTIFICATION! EVER!

You all better apologize to Dumbledore, Hagrid, and the people in your houses, and you'll be bloody lucky to gain their friendship and trust again, but you will never gain it back from me.

The same topic is posted in Slytherin House and received quite a few replies already.

I feel the necessity to post a copy of my reply here. In fact, it's a composition of various posts I felt the need to make. So... here goes my rant. And I want you to know that I'm usually fairly quiet and it takes a long time to make me freak out...

That said, read on.

QUOTE
Now... Pity, Az has already said most of the things that are on my mind. And she has a far better way with words than I.

I agree with her and have stated the same in various other threads already. As you can see, I AM FUMING!

So I'll just add a summary of my additional thoughts--or rather... questions...

Are you guys stupid? Don't you get it? Can't you read the rules? Or do you just think it's totally beneath you to listen to them? Do you EVER think before you're doing something? Do you ever take into account the consequences of your actions?

And once more... Even though I'm repeating myself... DARCIE! For the THIRD time! Stop acting out your sexual fantasies on a site that's for kids! I'll spell that out for you since you don't seem to understand: K-I-D-S. Kids are here to have a fun time. They, just like most of the more adult visitors of this site, have a right to not be drawn into this! There are certain sites on the internet for cybering and all this. (I trust you know what that is, seeing as you're all so very mature on this sector).

Now, you'll probably think: Why, I like this site because it's also for adults who need their "fix".

GET THAT KIND OF FIX SOMEWHERE ELSE!

This site is for ALL people! And there are things that some 10 or 12-year-old kid shouldn't be burdened with (you guys KNOW what I mean. I just see it beneath me to go into more sexual details. Az has given a very good impression of it all.) Sexuality is something serious. It is something that must be handled with care. If you cannot see that, I must say that you're acting like the kids you are. Behaviour like this does not equal maturity.

Your personal freedom ends where other people's personal freedom begins!

And more:

QUOTE
*glares at the people who lost points (AGAIN!!!)*

Now, everybody who REALLY cares about this house, please DO YOUR BLOODY HOMEWORK! And do put some BLOODY effort into it!

We have to make up for certain people's CONSTANT losing of our valuable points out of sheer boredom or stupidity! Maybe they're Gryffindors in disguise and want to secure an even MORE OBVIOUS victory for Gryffindor in the House Cup?!

Because I can't believe that somebody could be so stupid, I have to draw the conclusion that certain people are losing us those points deliberately!

So... I may not be a prefect, nor be an otherwise important person, but I am bloody sure that this thought has occurred to some higher authorities too, so you'd better keep your silly little hormones in check in the near and distant future.

And just because I feel like bragging with the GOOD things I've done for this house as opposed to other people's bragging with their mere sexual prowess...

I earnt over 330 points for this house! Yes, you read correctly. I especially went back and counted them all, so you can see that it's MY bloody points you're losing. *glares at the people who have once more managed to lose the points Sariss has worked her behind off to get*

I did this for YOU!

Oh and what a coincidence! I haven't lost a single point!

And if I lose some in the near future it's because of yelling at STUPID people with skulls too THICK to get anything!
But you know what? I don't care!!! Because if certain people who hardly ever do something for their house can go and lose points, I have the right to lose every single one of those 330 points on my own! Because they're mine!

Bloody.... something! I might as well stop attending lessons and doing my homework entirely! How about if I only roleplay on this site and stop caring about my housemates? What about if I were just coming here to get my bloody "fix" when I feel I need it?

*goes off fuming before she uses other swearwords than just BLOODY*

And a little more:

QUOTE
And now you can call me a teacher's pet, a nerd, a wanna-be Ravenclaw...

I don't care!!! I don't care about anything anymore! You obviously DON'T care one tiny bit, so why should I?

Why should anybody care about points or homework or lessons? You don't. Why should I? I'm fed up with this. I'm fed up with people who just... act like rabid hormone-ridden 12-year-olds.

(No offence to you 12-year-olds out there. I know a couple of you and you're way more mature than the people I'm addressing here. Just so you know. Behaviour like this is NOT mature. It's childish beyond recognition and if you engage in it and look back to it in a couple of years you'll be embarrassed beyond anything.)

Thank you for reading this.

*awaits to be flamed relentlessly by "certain people"

Gokusuper, don't post in topics when you have no idea what people are talking about, which you quite obviously don't.

This is another example of an absolutely pointless post. No wonder that the Unsorted have a bad reputation when it comes to cluttering forums and posting absolutely pointlessly. Please stop damaging your future classmates' reputation while you still can.

Posted by: Gokusuper_z Jul 9 2003, 03:27 PM
Miss what ever your name is

What is a pointless topic...
this are you sure

And i do know what this topic is about

It's about THE gutter people

Gokusuper, I usually don't get this mad, but I am sick of you and all of your pointless PMs and topics. Gee....the other day I received a PM from you asking who I was!! Is it really that hard to tell? Also, you've started probably more topics in the week you've been here than I have in my entire Hogwarts career! So, in conclusion, make sure your posts either have a point or don't bother posting them at all.

Posted by: Azraele_Malfoy Jul 9 2003, 03:44 PM
You, shut up. You can seriously be banned, not that I care. If you wish to talk about the Gutter People, do it in a sensible way. You dont need or should ever need the password. Besides, you already seem to know what everything is about anyway.

~Az~

Posted by: Joshua Parker Jul 9 2003, 03:46 PM
Were you talking about me or Gokusuper?

Edit: Heh, I'm pretty stupid for a Ravenclaw, aren't I? Considering I never asked for the password, it's obvious that you're not talking about me, right?

Oh no, that Goku guy.

People, we can stop shouting now. Sariss has a point. Az has a point. Josh has a point. Goku... I have no idea what s/he's trying to say.

I would say more, adding to Sariss' long post, but I don't think they're worth the time typing now...

I am not an ambassador for the gutter, I do not intend to defend it, I am meerly stating an opinion. And for anything I have posted inappropriately I appologies wholeheartedly to Dumbledore and admin for their time and effort for creating a wonderful site.

Sariss, Az and everyone I agree with your rants I would not want any child to have to become aware of things before they are old enough because I personally know how damaging that can be. The gutter is a locked forum, and to be honest, nothing truelly as bad as "cybering" actually happens there, a few terrible jokes (thanks Snape) and 'snogging' but not nearly as outragious as people assume.

I appologies for my striptease in the great hall. I tried to keep it innuendo free as I could and, mistakenly believed as the case was, that it would be some harmless fun as even the Harry Potter books mention nudity. (<<<guaranteed to be the bit people shout at me about).

As for the chat I don't know what happened there so I can't comment. I don't personally believe anyone is trying to act out their fantasies on this site. I believe Az wrote in one of her (well intentioned)rants:

"Darcie, what is wrong with you? You're lesbian? GOOD FOR YOU! CALL THE PRESS! Should any of us give a freaking damn?!? I dont remember the name of your 'lover' but this is to her too. KEEP IT TO YOURSELVES!"

Now I do have a point to raise about this. As far as I'm aware Darcie has only posted that she is going to the ball with Jenni. She hasn't paraded the fact about like some guarwdy (sp?) item, so whats the problem? Children I know shouldn't be exposed to sex and things of this nature, but the fact that people have relationships with the same sex? I may have missunderstood you Az (appolgies if I did) but surely your not suggesting that what Darcie did was wrong?

I wait your wraith.

::growl:: okay, no other gutter person has posted here, defending themselves, so I might as well.

An 11 year old in the Gutter? Well...don't get on everyone because of that, no one but 2 people have the power to give people the password. As for us being ashamed of ourselves, I'm ashamed I changed my name and had the word 'Gutter' in it and went back to adding dollz onto my site. By the time I flipped over again, Prof. Vi was taking points from Cash for talking back.

I'm fully aware that our housemates are not too happy about this. We are all being chewed out in at least 3 other threads in our common room alone. I think, by now, you've gotten your point across. I'm still waiting on Snape.

Posted by: CassieXanthe Jul 9 2003, 05:34 PM
Ok, now I've calmed down a bit. Firstly, Sorry for yelling head off at everyone. Secondly, Sorry for loosing you points, SB. Yes, it was me who said the striptease was okay, since the HP books mention nudity. Thirdly, Sorry to everyone else because I was an irresponsible gi..uh... girl.

She also posted multiple things in an Astronomy thread with Rosa (the ex-student who returns a lot) blatantly throwing about her sexuality. I, myself do not mind lesbians and gays (hell, gays are more fun then straight men, they go shopping) but I do think she went a little overboard then.

Posted by: Kiara_Draten Jul 9 2003, 06:54 PM
*Kiara_Draten looks around at the massacre before her.

"I have already posted an apology in my common room. I just was getting too out of character, mixing up my alteregos." Kiara mumbled.

"Kittie is right, all she did was change her name for the fun of it. Dont get angry with her." Kiara said, sitting down.

Posted by: Cien Mashuga Jul 9 2003, 07:00 PM
Maybe I should change my name to "Cien the Girl Toy" then. Afterall, I'm only changing my name for a bit of fun. She changed her name. Yes, wow, a name-change. But it's what it implys thats the matter. One kid might think "ooh that sounds like a fun name" and ask their parents what it means, or even worse, go parading around the streets shouting it aloud for perverted, sick people to take advantage off... *shudders* Scary thought or what?

Anyway, I think I have said enough for one day now, if anyone is actually realy scarred by my remarks then I am sorry, Im just stating how impressionable a young child can be...

Posted by: Persephone Blackwing Jul 9 2003, 07:07 PM
I feel the need to say a few things. Firstly, I've have nothing to do with the Gutter. However, I don't have a problem with it. The forum is locked and only two people can give out thee password, good, that's better then a free topic in in the 3rd Floor Corridor. On the subject of younger children reading this and it being innapropriate... well, there's always fanfiction. On FA, it's possible to read R-rated fics with no proof of age besides a simple question. And some fics could definitly be ranked as not age-appropriate.
Part of the appeal of the Harry Poter world (or so I think), is what it is like. The book world is steadily getting darker, some things in it could be considered potentially scarring to a younger person then what's going on here. Everyone will find out about the things in question at some point. When and how is really at the discretion of both the person and their parents. Personally, I think that it's better to find out sooner than later, yet there is a limit as to when to find out. When I was 14, I saw Girls Can't Swim, which had a fair amount of stuff that wouldn't be considered appropriate for me. However, speaking with my (RL) dad about it recently, his comment was 'Were you scarred for life by the content?" my response was no. My (RL) little sister is 12, she shouldn't see some of the stuff I've seen. Yet, there will a time for her in a few years, and she'll see them then.
My opinion on things of this type is usually the same, if you've got a problem with something, ignore it.

Posted by: CassieXanthe Jul 9 2003, 07:11 PM
I take back everything I ranted about.

But I do maintain that Persephone has a point.

Posted by: Sariss Jul 9 2003, 07:15 PM
I'm deeply sorry to have to demolish your argumentation, Persephone, but responsible parents will activate the filter that prevents their children from reading R-rated fics on fanfiction.net.

Now... I don't see anything like this on VH. And by the rate the gutter has once more started to spread all over the place, namely the chat (most of it seems to have been removed from the siggies, thankfully) and a certain thread in the North Tower that was the result of a Truth and Dare RP thread that had started out perfectly normal until "certain people" had the idea to join and... well... read the thread if it hasn't been deleted yet. It's very lovely. In fact, it's so lovely that the people to set it up have been rewarded. Yes, you heard me right. Their "reward" is detention and an essay that will take them a long time to write. And I think Professor Sinistra was going easy on them too.

So... Where is this site classified as R, so I can keep my younger cousins or any younger family members from entering VH?

Ok cien, thats alittle over the top don't you think? Kids know alot these days and have access on TV, th ecomputer, newspapers and magazines to things that may not be age appropriate. Now I'm not saying this is a good thing, as believe me its not, but I don't think some kid on here is going to go out in the street and shout "I'm a girl toy" really thats just stupid. I live with 17 children ages between 10 and 17 (I live in a childrens home) and I really can't imagine any of them doing that, or having their 'fragile naive minds' warped by Kittie having 'gutter ' in her name.

I have express my personal views on this subject in my previous post if you were interested, lease go back and have a go at me on that.

I know kids are not that impressionable, Seb, I'm just saying what could happen (in very very very very extreme cases) Who's to say all the kids that see some of this stuff are as mature as you or me though? *shrug* you never know.

Anway. I need to post this everywhere.

I know about fanfiction.net, I was talking about http://www.fictionalley.org. I know there are various filters around for parents, but there are ways around them. What I was trying to say is that there are things out there (and easily accessable) that bear the Harry Potter label and are pretty sick and/or twisted.
On a slightly different front, but somewhat related, there are things that we consider childish, yet are really (in their original form) intended for adults. Or at least not for the younger set.

Posted by: CassieXanthe Jul 9 2003, 07:28 PM
One point: My parents have absolutely no filters on any of our computers, and I'm twelve, and oldest of four siblings...

Posted by: Persephone Blackwing Jul 9 2003, 07:34 PM
As it is, filters are not totally reliable. I've got one on my AOL account. It blocks sites only at certain times that have absolutely no rhyme or reason. And I've found out ways to get around it.

And Sariss, another thing I was trying to say was that if people have a problem with something, they can choose to ignore what they don't like. If it offends you, don't read/watch/etc it.

Posted by: Mya Shumilova Jul 9 2003, 08:10 PM
Even though i somewhat agree with AZ, I am not sure if that kind of post was approprite. I do not think that offending Darcie and others was the best idea. I would suggest that this topic should be not posted in anymore. I am not the professors or anyone else but i just do not want anyone else loosing points.

Posted by: Rysa Evans Jul 9 2003, 08:35 PM
Excuse me.

I refuse to ignore certain contents of this site just because they offend me.

Whether they do or not, those contents do absolutely nothing for the well being of VH. This is not a site for those kinds of behaviors. Get the fix elsewhere. I have every right to make a full use of this site as you do within the parameters of VH's true purpose: Harry Potter role playing for all users.

And it is not up to us to decide when a child will be exposed to adult contents. It is up to the child's parents or legal guardian. Do not argue or assume that children posess the knowledge already or they can/want to always get around the system. There are still many parents who would be horrified of the very idea and yours not being one of them does not justify anything.

I must say that is revolting. To think that someone's parents might decide to come to this chat. I mean and if they were to see this Dumbledore might have to close this sight are he may have constrict it some more. It would be utter unfair to all the under kids that make up our community.
