Newlyweds Don and Heather (standing, on right) look on as yet another full mug is raised in honor of their marriage (Photo, right). The Scot with the raised mug is Curt, one of Don's immediate supervisors.

Renaissance/Medieval music both for the reception and the dancing was again provided by Passing Measures. They did not limit themselves just to quiet Period instrumentals (Photo, right), but also sang several songs appropriate to the glad occasion. However, when the word "maidenhead" suddenly cropped up in one of their lyrics, my old ears did prick up quite rightly! Listening more closely, I soon realized they were actually singing some rather bawdy ballads of lusty brides and blushing grooms -- quaint by their tune but most explicit in their detail. Modern lyrics which now raise the wrath of both church and state are comparatively tame next to those old ballads, which topped the Medieval Pop Charts for several hundred years! To my quiet amusement, no one else among the wedding party that afternoon seemed to pick up on their sly innuendo, apparently. Clever, clever Passing Measures!!!
