The World of Kendree

Kendree is the setting for many of my stories, I have strived to create a sense of History and religion to serve as a backdrop for its heroes and legends. Dark days and days of glory, stories told and yet to tell.

Kendree was an ancient world ruled by magic. It prospered in peace and tranquility its people at one with the land and in tune with the will of the One God. Peace though is a fragile flower easily strangled by the roots of evil. Where light falls there are always shadows, in the shadow the roots of evil first take hold. There are always souls too week to resist the call of the shadows. One such soul was Gadron Mage Lord of the Lands of Lothanna. By his hands alone were the Dark arts practiced. By his hands alone was evil done. His sorcery and necromancy once discovered could not be left unchecked. The Mage Lords of Illithan, Dunster and Caltan raised an army and a war was waged for a hundred years without either side claiming victory. Gadron opened paths to other worlds enslaving races of all kinds to fight his cause. The Elves, the Dwarves, the Shinnarin and many more torn from their homes sacrificed and bred in the name of evil. Some though threw off their bonds of dark sorcery to form an alliance. The very forces that Gadron had been sure would give him victory plotted his eventual defeat. The knowledge of the races combined, the Elves using nature itself to create a weapon that tore the magic from the land "The Manna Staff". Gadron with his dark arts blunted fled from the world utterly defeated. The victory however was hollow, without manna (The magic of the land itself) the world withered. An age of famine and desolation followed. The makers of the Staff met only failure in their attempts to restore the world. The magic it held seemed lost forever to the many and brought only guilt and remorse to the few. But there is always hope flickering like a candle in the dark...
