The Way of Life: Part II of Loves Toll

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Draco sat there, lying eagle sprawled on his bed in his dormitory, he had been lying there day after day, thinking, just thinking about Rhiannon.

Rhiannon, the girl he had met about 7 or 8 months ago. The girl who had changed his life, the girl who had been there for him, always. She had been an angel on earth, now she was an angel, but not on earth.

Draco had found that there was love in his heart. And he had given it to Rhiannon. She had given him the will to live and her love in return.

Draco got up from his four poster bed and walked over to his trunk, he rummaged through it and grabbed out his cloak. He put it on and made his way to the door.

He got out into the common room and waltzed passed Crabbe and Goyle.

"Uhhh, Uhhh, Draco, watcha going to, uhhhh, uhhhh, do?" Crabbed asked stupidly.

"Grave," was Draco’s one-worded-answer. Pansy heard him and walked over.

"Gee, Draco," she said running her finger down his chest as she stepped in front of him, "Do you want me to come, we could always go some where more, privet,” she said, looking at Draco with her pug-ish like face, trying to look cute and seductive.

"After all," she laughed, "we all know that you didn't *really* love that bi-" Draco began to cut her off:

"DON'T YOU SAY THAT ABOUT RHIANNON! I LOVED HER, I STILL DO AND I WILL NEVER LIKE YOU! PANSY, YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN TO TAKE A HINT? Do you?" Draco asked lowering his voice.

Pansy looked at him with her cold pale blue eyes, and wrapped her arm around his neck; and pulled him into a kiss.

She pulled away and looked at him.

"Did that remind you of all those nights we shared up in the Astronomy Tower?" asked Pansy.

"In away," he started, Pansy smiled, "It reminded me that Rhiannon is a MUCH better kisser then you -that would include snogging in general-" he added under his breath, "and it *did* reminded me of the Astronomy Tower" he paused, "The night I was up there with Rhiannon! Now, I have to go, uhh, somewhere, good-bye Pansy," Draco snapped and walk out of the Slytherin Dungeon.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Draco walked, and walked. He walked until he reached the side of the lake farthest from the school. From there he walked behind a weeping willow tree and went through a bunch of branches that the untrained eye would have missed.

Draco then walked over to a large polished grave made of silver, diamonds, amethyst, sapphire, all set upon a chuck of polished marble. It was carved in and filled with silver and the occasional sapphire, were the words:

"Rhiannon Marie Hill, February 20, 1980-March 15, 1995, Good Student, Friend, Daughter, Sister, and Girlfriend"

Draco had requested the "Girlfriend" part, and her family had agreed.

Draco sighed and slid his hand down the grave. It sent chills down his spine.

If only he hadn't made that second to last promise to her, the promise that stopped him from ending his life long torture. In his second to last promise, he had told her that he would never purposely end his life, like what he was going to do on the day he met her in the halls.

The halls. That was one thing that now seemed empty, even when all of Hogwarts students were going to their next class. The way they seemed so still and quiet, even with everyone laughing and talking. To Draco, they seemed so empty, without Rhiannon there holding his hand when they walked on their way to potions together. They seemed so still and quite with out Rhiannon's happy, bell like laugher ringing throughout the halls. So much like nothing, that was what the halls were like, so much like nothing, as was everything else in Draco's half-lived live right now.

"Rhiannon," he sighed, "I miss you. Why did you have to go? Why not Pansy, or me?" he asked.

The wind pick up, Draco pulled his clock tighter around himself. He looked at the grave, took out his wand, mumbled a spell under his breath and magiked a small group of flowers. Some Lily of the Valley's, Tiger Lilies, and Roses, Rhiannon's favourites.

He was about to go back to the common room, but stopped, he heard someone, so one familiar, yet, at the same time, unfamiliar. He listened more closely, straining his ears to pick up any sound he could. The voice came and went with the wind.

"Draco," he heard it say, "I am at rest, there is no need to worry. I'm a big girl," the wind stopped, and few moments later, it picked up again, "I can take care of my self. Go back to the common room. I will always watch over you. I love you." Draco realized who it was, Rhiannon.

Through the chilly wind, he felt warmth first on his cheek, then his lips.

Draco sighed and left the grave, leaving the flowers.

As he walked back. He remembered his last promises to Rhiannon. He knew he would keep them. The second to last, promising not to take his own life, would be hardest. But, he now knew that Rhiannon was really at rest, peacefully too. Draco was walking in to the school, and he faintly heard Rhiannon's laugher behind him. He walked down the halls, thinking of his last promise to her. One he knew he would keep.

"Draco?" she had asked him, pulling away from Draco's kiss, but staying in his embrace.

"Mmm?" Draco mumbled back.

"Do you really love me?" she had asked.

"Of course I do. If I didn't, would I do this?" he asked, pulling her back into yet another kiss.

Rhiannon had giggled and pulled away.

Draco looked deep into her eyes. "I will always love you, always, I promise."
