The harry potter guild
Neomail for support

Hello everyone! To the new members of the guild, I send you all a special hello and a big thank-you for joining our guild. In this guide, you'll find everything you'll need to know about our guild, from the people who run it to the competitions we hold. If you have any questions that are not answered in this guide, then neomail one of the guild council members. They will then answer your question in this guide...But please, if all else fails, before you neomail the council member, use your common sense to help you figure out the problem. ^_^ Classes On the left toolbar of links, you'll see one titled "Classes". That link will take you to the classes page, where you can find links to all of the subjects offered at Hogwarts, plus a few more. You'll also find the House Points. When you do homework, you earn points for your house. To do your homework, go to the classes page and click a subject. Then, read the homework on that page and neomail your answers to the teacher of that subject. Right answers will earn your house points, while wrong answers will not earn you anything. If a teaching position is open, you may apply for this position if you meet the following standards: · You have been sorted by a council member · You have been active on the guild message board · You know HTML or can use a page designer (i.e. Geocities, AOL pages, etc.) · You have a good knowledge of the HP books When applying for a position on the teaching staff, email your application to hogwarts_school_guild@hotmail.com. If you do not have an email account, let one of the council members know, and the two of you can work something out. Competitions Our current competition is the Triwizard Tournament. Others will probably appear in the future, but there is only one other regular competition, the competition for the House Cup. The Triwizard Tournment will be held with four contestants participating in 3 tasks. Each task will be worth 20 points and graded depending on the event as specified below. In the end the first to complete the tasks will win the Triwizards Tournament and over 50,000 np! Diagon Alley Diagon Alley is the collection of shops the belong to the Hogwarts Guild members. The shops are themed (or are SUPPOSED to be), items going along with the title of the shop, or what it sells in the books. An example is how the shop "The Three Broomsticks" sells food. If there are openings in the shop list (shop names that don't have a link), then you may apply for the shop. The rules are: you must own a shop and you must name your shop the name of whatever you are applying for. Neomail "fawn_wv" if you want a shop that's open. The council members would also prefer that you are active on the message board if you own a copyrighted store, such as Quality Quidditch Supplies. To donate to the guild, send items to "ross_rossell_". Any will be appreciated and put in the Prize Vault, aka: Gringotts. Miscellaneous COMMUNICATIONS Members of the guild can communicate with other through the message board, neomail, AIM, etc. Students in any house can communicate with students in any house they wish...There are no restrictions on communications between houses. MESSAGE BOARD When posting on the message board, you may post on whatever you like..However, please don't type out posts that have 1 or 2 sentences, then posting them. These posts will be deleted immediately, as they take up space and are annoying when reading over the message. Also, please don't start arguments over controversial topics, such as religion, etc. Picking fights, starting "Guild Soap Operas" (as the guild veterans like to call them), advertising for other guilds, and putting down other guild members can and probably will get you suspended from the guild. Sorting One of the most frequently asked questions a newbie asks upon joining the guild is: "How do I get sorted?" Well, here's the answer to your question. The council members have control over members in the guild. One of their powers is to change the "rank" of the members. When you first join the guild, your rank will read "Not Yet Sorted". The council members take turns sorting the new members into their house. You could be sorted within a few days after you join, it depends on the council member sorting you. The council member who sorts the members sorts them RANDOMLY. Some methods they use are: drawing names out of a mug, following a pattern of houses, etc. Some people have had problems with the house they've been sorted into...If you DO have a problem with the house you've been sorted into, please don't flood the message board with posts showing your anger. If you do, your messages will be deleted and you could be suspended from the guild. Switching your house is NOT an option. Students at Hogwarts don't switch their houses in the books, so therefore, we don't switch houses in the guild. Everyone is equal, and just because you weren't sorted into the house of your preference doesn't mean that you're a bad person or we're a bad guild. If everyone was sorted into the house of their choice, then Gryffindor would most likely hold at least 3/4 of the guild population. So please, as was already mentioned above, don't post about how unhappy you are about your house. A Hogwarts student is a Hogwarts student any way you look at them.
