Diversified Partners thanks the United States Navy and EdVenture Partners for giving us the opportunity to be part of the 2005 Navy Internship Program and for providing the opportunity to experience the “real world” of marketing. A sense of pride and ownership developed toward the determined tasks to assure that Diversified Partners met the U.S. Navy’s stated objectives: 

 

1.                                                                  Generate leads to fill “General Enlisted” Naval positions

2.                                                                  Assist in targeting diversity populations for Navy occupations

3.                                                                  Increase awareness and consideration within the target market of available positions/career opportunities in the Navy

4.                                                                  Generate positive media coverage for LAHC, Diversified Partners and the Navy’s role in education

5.                                                                  Generate creative marketing strategies for future Navy recruiting campaigns

6.                                                                  Forge a partnership between LAHC and the Navy for future programs

 

To increase students’ awareness of the opportunities the Navy has to offer, preliminary surveys were collected and organized. The surveys were specifically targeted at the designated age and ethnic group. The analyzed data was used to plan the marketing event that showcased the various opportunities the Navy has to offer. Jump start your career, the Navy has the gear was the theme of our event, which included everything from food and entertainment to giveaways and interactive games.

 

The event was advertised by distributing flyers as well as posting signs throughout the campus. In addition, media kits were sent to newspapers and to both radio and television stations. The college marquee capped the advertising efforts with the event announcement for all to see.

 

As will be seen in the marketing presentation, the aforementioned goals were met. In the process, a better understanding of what is required to market a product (the U.S. Navy) was achieved. Diversified Partners is thankful for the opportunity to fulfill the desired mission and the instrumental
