Spells and Enchantments Lesson 2
CHEERING CHARM: The Cheering Charm, when cast properly, cheers a person up and makes them happy. This charm is simple enough, though sometimes the caster puts too much thought into the charm and makes the person they are casting the charm on a little too happy! To cast this charm, hold out your wand to the person you want to cheer up or make happier and simply say, "CHEER UP!" Within a couple seconds, the person you've cast the spell on will be having fits of giggles and smiling! This will last for about three to five hours. All that is required for this charm is a wand and proper incantation. Make sure not to put too much thought into the charm though ... or else the person you are casting the charm on will be giggling and laughing for days.
CUSHIONING CHARM: This one is for you avid Quidditch fans and broomstick riders! Invented by Elliot Smethwyck, the Cushioning Charm creates an invisible "pillow" on the handle of your broomstick to make flying more comfortable. A very handy charm indeed, though plenty of concentration is needed! To cast this charm properly, make sure you have your wand pointed directly at the handle of your broomstick, concentrate on the thought of something soft (a pillow, preferably), and say, "CUSHINGDOM!" The charm will wear off in one day.
MEMORY CHARM: The Memory Charm modifies or erases portions of a person's memory. To cast this charm properly, you must have plenty concentration on the person and the memory you would like to erase, make sure that your wand is pointed at that person, and say, "OBLIVIATE!" This charm is a bit advanced, so the most any of you could do is to erase the last five to ten minutes of a person's memory prior to casting the charm. Remember, this charm is only to be used by older and professional witches and wizards! You may practice it on each other, but remember to have a trained professional supervise. Only a trainer professional would be able to revive the memory.
TICKLING CHARM: One of my favorite charms, the Tickling Charm is always fun to cast on people. This charm, when cast properly, makes the person you've cast the charm on laugh uncontrollably! The laughing can last from five minutes up to five days! To cast this charm properly, point your wand at the person you want to cast this charm on and say, "RICTUSEMPRA!" Make sure not to say it too loud or too forceful though, because you could end up making the person fly across the room!
